I've had a realy, really bad day and i don't know if I can cope with it much more. I tried calling a couple of friends to chat but they're not home so I thought I'd vent on bubhub - sorry guys.

I've got two toddlers at home with my DH working really long hours. I'm having heaps of trouble getting the kids to go to bed. They keep getting out of bed and I keep putting them back for over an hour - this happens with their day time sleep and at night. I put them to bed at 7.30 tonight (they seemed tired) and one of them is still awake now. they've also been whining all day and wanting me to pick them up - even when we were at a good friend's place for a play (who they know really well). this has been going on for weeks and weeks and nothing's improving, it just keeps getting worse.

they don't listen to anything I say. it doesn't matter how nicely I say it or whether I raise my voice. i don't know how to manage them any more. some ideas please???

You sound exhausted, do you ever get some time out? I always find I can cope better after a rest. Do you have family around or does DH take them on the weekend?

Can you amuse them easily? I would suggest, trying to keep them awake for along as u can, playing with them etc. They might just drop off, DS drops off and wont wake til morning

thanks for the thoughts - I am exhausted. DH is a shift worker so not regularly around to help out and family doesn't live close by. hopefully things will seem better in the morning

:hugs: :hugs: to you

We all have bad days, you aren't alone :)

I know how exhausting it can be when you are trying to get things done and they are always wanting you to pick them up.

Is there anybody who can give you a hand or take them off your hands for a couple of hours so you can have a break? I think it helps to have some 'you' time or even just some time to get the housework done so when you are with the kids you have more time to play without stressing about chores.

Tomorrow is a brand new day :wizard:
