View Full Version : query for nov 2006 mums
Hi there,
Just realised you can answer my question  I am due in november this year. My husband and I are trying to figure out whether a hugabub or babybjorn type carrier but our dilemma is will it be too hot? Will the baby get to sweaty at that time of year? How did you find it was carrying the baby on you at that time of year? It has taken me this long to realise that i should ask you guys
Thanks in advance!!!

LOL, no problems, I'll answer your query for you!
I have a Baby Bjorn, it's OK for short term use (ie. less than one hour) but yeah, November... too hot, boobs too full to even use it, didn't want the skin to skin contact, hardly went anywhere to use it anyway.
Will not even consider using my Baby Bjorn for all day wear while doing cooking meals, vacuuming floors etc. Some mums using the ergo, hug a bubs slings say they can do these jobs as it leaves them handsfree, while still carrying bubs.
That said, my DH loved using the Baby Bjorn but not me personally.
ETA: my babies are now around the 7kg mark and I'm finding them too heavy to carry in the sling. So technically our Baby Bjorn was only used perhaps 15-20 times for all three babies.
I have a babasling and an infantino smart rider (so both types of carrier). I found that I used the sling and the carrier about equally at the shops (airconed) because my bub hated the basinette part of the pram. She's fine in the pram now with the seat on it so I don't really use the carriers much now.
At home without the aircon I used mostly the sling but still the carrier a bit as well. I'm in Brissy so it gets pretty hot but I was fine with that. I would just wear a light singlet so I wasn't too hot but bubs wasn't sweating on me either. That said, she was always very warm when I got her out but it didn't seem to bother her. In the sling and carrier was about the only time she slept in the first 2 months.
Hope this helps
