hey all jut wonderin what you all think on this.
i was talking to a friend of mine shes a fair bit older is getting married next month and goes on about how hard it is to raise 1 child and that prices rae unfair to married couples ect.
i raise 2 children on my own and maneg to pay for alyvea school my bills clothes ect not getting any where near as much as she gets.
do you think she is being selfish and unfair?
the father to the baby is not around the baby is 2 1/2 but shes getting 800 a week chlid surrport plus work money and money from her dp.
Do you not get any child support?? My H and I have put our house on the market and once sold I will be on my own with the 2 boys but without child support there is no way I could afford the rent. I am looking at about $300 per week to rent in the very outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne and even with family assistance and my pay for which i work 2 days a week I would simply not survive without child support from my kids dad.
I think she is selfish to be complaining to you as you are obviously doing it tougher than her.

:hugs:
It's hard i have a friend who is married with 3 kids and she is always going on about how hard it is with money and how she feels like a single mum some time as her hubby works. But i do think there are people out there who always think they have it harder than others.

i am not a single mum i was with older dd for 3 years though, but we used to manage on 400 a week with three kids (i had to take 5months off work) and out rent was 250 a week...
Its hard but you learn to manage and go without...800 a week in child support?? thats crazy!!

wow $800 a week in child support?! Her ex must have an amazing job. She should definitely be able to manage on that alone.

That's a really low thing for a friend to do...
The only person who ever complains about their financial trouble to me is my sister. After about ten minutes of me mindlessly repeating "uh huh" she stops and remembers it could be a hell of a lot harder.
I like to think that the people who struggle, will benefit more.
Maybe we'll go through another stock market crash, repeat the depression era and the only people who can handle it are those on a budget.

I think people always want more than they have these days.
I mean yes would be nice getting more money each week. If I was getting as much as her in a week, I'd be happy with that. I survive with 2 kids on the SPP and family tax a and b. Which in a fortnight is less than what she gets in a week. I don't get any child support from their father.
So next time she complains maybe remind her that there are far more people out there worse off than her.
