Hi All,
Well my beautiful ittle girl Bianca Delphine has finally arrived 10 days overdue! Mum went into hospital on Tuesday to be induced at 4pm, they gave her some progeston(? spelling) which started the contractions but alas they were not regular enough. These lasted for about 6 hours until they decided to give DW a rest and she had a shot of pethadine. After a restless night, DW was in a fair amount of pain as the baby was in a posterior position (spine on spine) which was give her terrible back pain. At 6am they put DW on a drip with Seritonin (?) to bring her along a bit faster which worked but after about another 3 hours of this she was in agony so an epidural was performed. After the epidural DW improved 100% but by this stage was very tired.
The next 2 hrs was a bit uneventful with DW finally fully dialted at about 2:30pm and the pushing began. After about 30 mins of effort the doc examined her and diagonsed the baby was in "Deep transverse arrest" and its HR was dropping so she was whisked down to surgery to have an emergency C-Section. I was lucky enough to be there when Bianca was born and even had a bit of a cry. Bianca was born at 3:58pm just coming in under the 24 hr mark!!
I can't describe how helpless I felt when I saw DW in the pain she was but it all worked out OK in the end AND I AM A DAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
