Hemp pre-use wash?

Hi,
when they say to wash hemp 5-7 times before you use it, do they mean to wash in hot water only, or to wash with detergent also? Because I have heard of detergent build-up causing problems so am not sure if this pre-washing should be detergent-free or not. Any info would be appreciated.

pre wash with 1/4-1/2 reccomended amount of detergent. Build up occurs when u use too much. pre wash needs it to remover the oils from manufacturing

i also have a question about this - when you pre-wash, do you dry them then wash again or just chuck them into the next load of washing still wet?

Don't waste water doing seperate loads if you can help it (and if it's only a small amount of new hemp).. I just stick them in with other stuff for a few days. Clothes, nappies, whatever. If it hasn't dried between the washes it doesn't matter :D
