My 2yo DD has recently been holding it in. I think she's becoming embarrassed to go, iykwim. In the past 2 months, she's been constipated probably 5 or 6 times. I worry if she hasn't gone for a day and a half because she eats very well, so I'm kind of expecting it, and she's in a lot of pain.
I give her prune juice or a prune to eat when I notice it. I've also tried coloxyl drops and parachoc.
Anything else natural I can try? Today she's having a lot of trouble, but I've just given her parachoc so I have to wait to see if it works.
What else can I do for her? I hate seeing her like this (as any mum would).
Thanks for reading-2littleprincesses

Get her to drink lots of water, and pears can help
Flaxseed oil - 1 teaspoon a day. Fish oil is also a good one.
Prune juice
Pear
Water
Thats about all I can think of.
Edited to add, my little lad wouldn't go either and upon getting him checked out it turns out he was holding it in (he had had gastro and it was sore for him to go because he got a tear and he remembered that) anyway, the paed said to pump him full of laxatives for 2 weeks so its practically runny and they very quickly get over the unpleasant feelings associated. It worked.

When Jesse was constipated my mum put a few prunes in boiling water and let them simmer. Then used the juice from the saucepan, mixed it with water and put it in a bottle for him. Whoah!!! Did that get things moving!!! Don't use too much of the juice IYKWIM.

I recommend Pear Juice, it works a treat. Much nicer tasting than Prune juice.

Hi
My DD was constipated on and off for 2 years. She also used to hold on because she had a tear and it hurt. When I finally got the referal to the paed (after being told by different doctors to give her more fibre, more this, more that) he said to give her Parachoc daily for 4-6 weeks. I gave it to her for about 5 weeks and she hasn't been constipated since (its been about 6 months now).
