My DS1 has anaphylaxis reactions to dairy (previously also egg). I now have another son (4 weeks old) and I wanted to try him on one formula feed per day to see if I can get him to sleep longer during the night.

Should I be concerned about giving him a dairy formula? Should I consult a doctor before giving him dairy?

 Me personally I would. My three children were all allergic to Dairy in varying degrees. My eldest was bordering on anaphylactic (would go unconscious but not swell) y daughter was just a temperament issue and my youngest is highly allergic to dairy AND soy.

If you have a regular doctor that you see with your first (be it a GP or Paed) talk to them about the chances. My children may be freaks (in the fact that they are all allergic as well as by nature!! )

Good luck with it. If nothing else ask the doc if they suggest you try one of the prescription formulas to start with which will reduce the risk as they are designed for allergy babies. (they are also cheaper if the doc signs a carers form foryou and you get a health card.)

Thanks for that.My husband freaked out when I said I was going to give him a formula feed, so I figured I would check BubHub before doing anything.

I would seek medical advice first yep.... my DD 1 is anaphylaxic to insect bites and we don't yet know how DD 2 or dd 3 will react.
