Need some advice??

Hi im hoping that someone might be able to help...

My husband and i are TTC. Last month my periods were week late and we were hoping that it was our month but unfortunaley it wasn't as AF arrived. AF usually lasts for 5 days but this month AF went over a week (which is weird :rolleyes: ) so now i guess im asking is when do i ovulate? Should we BD all this week as im guessing i O 14 days from the first day of AF??

How long have you been TTC?

Ovulation generally occurs 14 before AF... Its only 14 after AF if you have the bog standard 28 day cycle. If you have a longer cycle then you cant count 14 days after AF.
The best way to know when you ovulate is chart... check out Fertility Friend. Charting your temp, CM & CP can give you a good idea of when you ovulate.

I ask about the pill because once you stop taking the pill it takes a while for your body to get back into the swing of things - some women dont notice any changes. Others find their AF lasts longer or shorter or their cycle is longer or shorter.

No haven't been on the pill for 3 yrs now. We have been TTC for a couple of months. My cylce is around 28-29 days but with my periods being a week late last month it has totally put me off. I tried using OPK'S but didn't have any luck with them! With my FF chart it outlined when i 'should' ovulate so we BD everyday of that week and nothing! I think its so hard when your actually TTC rather then just 1 day finding out that your pregnant (like we did with our first ) charting, planing and then discovering you have to wait another month before you can try again is heartbreaking! I wish sometimes there was a special pill you could take to be pregnant lol :)

Stress (among other things) can delay ovulation which would then make your cycle longer... Were you stressed last month?

No for the first time i was pretty laid back. It has taken me almost 2 years to convince my husband to start 'trying' for our second and he agreed and has been so good about it so now i am more relaxed and guess just waiting for it to happen!

Last month though with my AF being a week late, i wasn't to sure when i was O and i think we missed the boat as i went away for a week and i think we were only a couple of days out :thumbsdown: as im pretty sure that i O late that month.

I was told when TTC by my GP, to do the deed every second day from Day 10 of cycle until around Day 20...
hmmmmmmmmm sure kept hubbie happy!!
