Hi Alsmum,
I live in Newcastle too. I haven't heard of any walking groups, but it sounds like fun!! (not to mention a gr8 way to start getting rid of that mummy tummy!!). Let us know if you find out about one.....maybe we should start one?!
Vicki
I'd love to organise a regular walking group but don't know the best way to go about it. To get out in the fresh air and meet other Mum's and bub's would be great.
I'll see what else I can find out and let you know. Cheers

Hi All,
What time is best for most in the afternoons and which area is most central to all? Any day is fine with me as I'm not back at work yet (don't really want to go back either !!) but have to organise a car to get there. Is The Esplanade at Warners Bay too far for anyone to get to, as a first meeting point (or the foreshore in town)?
Let me know what you think

Warner's Bay or the City Foreshore is fine with us but I would prefer it to be on a Mon or Tues. I prefer in the mornings so Harry can sleep while I walk or have a good look around and then have a good sleep in the arvo.
What does everyone else think?
Hi Everyone
Foreshore would be good for us. I prefer Tuesday arvo's. We could always do a different day, time and place each week or fortnight so everyone's preferences are covered. How do we decide which day and what time? What about the week after Easter or is that school hols/too busy??
Looking forward to getting started.

I think the best way to do this, or we could be here all year!!! Is to decide on a day and time and whoever can turn up, turn up. Then the next time we pick either another day and time or if the first one suits most people stick with that. We're good for Tuesday arvo after Easter which is 5/04. If that sounds good for you let us know below. It sounds like we are all over the place so the forshore might be the best. We could meet in the park next to Nobby's beach car park. Let us know what you think.

Hi all,
I have been reading thru all the posts in this thread as I am gagging for motivation to get moving, but, I have to say that I have tried to organise this sort of thing in other sites and it is just way to dificult, so many people have equally as many different routines.
While Harry's mum's suggestions are great suggestions the problem will continue to arise that people can't make it on one day or another for one reason or another and eventually the whole thing falls apart.
I hate to be a big downer but for what it's worth, it has worked in the past for me to find a walking "buddy" rather than a whole group...you will find it is difficult enough with just 1 or 2 of you never mind a larger group. That way you will find the chances are that at least one person will be able to walk with you.
Sometimes a coffee/playdate is a better way if everyone wants to get together to meet etc. That way it can be done at basically any time of the day on almost any day. Walks are generally requested 1st thing in the morning or in the evening which normally correspond with the winding up or down of a routine (which like I said is often different for each family).
That said, I am up for a walk at almost any time and almost any day. My day usually starts at about 9-10am (by the time Tarsh is up and awake) and I am available basically every day but Tuesday. Living near Belmont, the Warners Bay walk along the esplanade from the shops to Pippis at the Point (approx 1hr round trip) is a good walk.
If anyone is keen, let me know - if more than one person is keen then all the better ;) Look forward to hearing any feed back.

Vicki,
Are we still up for Tuesday? I'm still keen if you are.
Anyone else up for a meet and walk.
I was thinking of either doing the walk up the breakwall or walk the loop around to Newcastle beach and then down to the foreshore park and finish off with a rest/lay down in Nobby's park.
Remember everyone else meeting at 3:00pm on Tuesday 5/4.

Hi Everyone,
Would anyone oppose a coffee at Charlestown Square, same time, if the weather doesn't let up?
Hi,
Hope you all have a lovely walk and that the weather is better than yesterday.

Thank you Vicki, (DH) and Charlie for a great afternoon tea. It was wonderful to finally meet you all and put a face to the name. It was great to be able to chat about motherhood and the different challenges that we both are facing. I hope we can all continue to meet up every so often and start a bub hub meet group.
Hope you guys enjoyed it as much as we did. And Charlie is sooooooooooo cute.
Love your boyfriend Harry (and his mum Karena)
P.S Harry did fall asleep in the car and is fast asleep now. :)

Hey guys
I went to Nobby's Park and no one was there, as I thought you guys were doing coffee if the weather was bad :( :( .
Felicity (Ella is a cutie) was there though and it was great to walk and have a chat, even though it was nervous meeting people for the first time specially off the internet. Thanks Felicity it was nice to met you and it would be great to met for that coffee.
Harry's mum that Bub hub group sounds like a winner of a idea!!!! Hopefully we can organise another meet with everyone that would be fantastic.
Cheers

Hi Karena and Harry,
We had a fantastic time this afternoon! I was so excited to finally meet you too :D :D ! Your Harry is a handsome little man who DEFINATELY smiles with his eyes. I'm afraid he has captured my heart!! He can date Charli any time !! Ha, ha......
To Felicity and Jimmyjones, I'm sooooo sorry we weren't there to meet you and your little ones. No sooner had we decided to meet for afternoon tea, that the sun decided to shine! We actually talked about wether or not anyone else would meet up and find us not there :o . Nevermind...next time we'll make sure we all exchange mob. #'s beforehand so there's no mix up.
We're going to have the best fun meeting each other.
