Reading the threads it seems like you have some good meetings. We still have 5 months until we arrive up there to become Sunshine Coastians, but I'm sure the time will go quickly.I'm desperately trying to catch up on who's who etc, although getting time to sit and read all the posts is a definate challenge.I'm hoping to get to know you all and :fingerscrossed: there will be opportunity for my darling children and myself to meet you all and your littlies.I do have to say though, the thought of meeting new people and making new friends is a little daunting.Unfortunately I am kinda shy:o ,but I'm trying to overcome it.Hope you all had a great weekend.Take care.mlfm Deb

Looking forward to meeting you!

It can be a bit daunting when you meet people for the first time when you've only known them online, but rest assured we're all completely harmless! :D

Our meets are always great fun & everyone always seems to enjoy them - adults & kiddies alike!

Our little sunny coast group seems to be growing more and more.

It will be great to have another hubber come to our meets.

Have you decided where abouts in Caloundra you'll be moving too?

I am in Caloundra too. So many cool beaches and nice places to take the kiddies.

Hi Deb

Looking forward to meeting you when you arrive on the coast. I'm new here and haven't met any of the ladies yet but am really looking forward to finally making it to a catch-up. I also have the dreaded "shy" syndrome and am slowing overcoming it.:o

We haven't decided exactly where in Caloundra yet.We will be heading up in late July, for a couple of weeks,to check things out.Are there any areas that we should definately avoid or any that we should consider over any others? With 2 littlies we want to do our homework before deciding. Also have to look at employment opps for DP.He's a truck driver so we're hoping work wil be easy to find.:fingerscrossed:

It's all realy lovely. Golden beach is nice and quiet.

Otherwise Currimundi beach is nice coz it has the lake meeting the sea and lots of sand bars for kids to safely play on.

Moffat Beach is absolutely gorgeous for picnics and bbqs.

Honestly it is allso lovely. It's hard to pick.

Me personally i think closer to the beach the better. Walking distance!

I wouldn't say there are any areas of Caloundra to avoid. It's more that you need to find an area that has all the things you're after.

Areas like Bellvista are good if you have a young family and not a lot of time to spend on garden maintenance etc. as the houses are all new & modern & the blocks small. On the other hand you can head out towards Little Mountain if you want a big block of land, with an older style house. Golden Beach is an older area, but is very close to the water & shops, and much of it has been recently redeveloped so you have a good mix of older style & brand new, modern houses & units. Around Kings Beach etc you'll find predominantly units. Currimundi & Kawana have older & newer houses as well, and are further from the beaches, but close to shops & schools.

Try realestate.com if you're looking for properties, then if you'd like to know about the areas, feel free to ask! :)
