Just wondering if any fellow bubhubbers have tried anything, eg herbs, acupuncture etc etc prior to becoming pregnant?

We plan for another baby next year but I am so scared of morning sickness and not being able to do anything that I am interested in finding out anything I didn't know, before I conceive.

Thanks

I doubt it, given that m/s is a your bodies reaction to the pregnancy hormone (or at least that's my theory) so your body can't do much to prepare against a hormone that it doesn't have yet...

I think just being as well, healthy and fit as you can be is the best defence.

Mind you, if someone does have a miracle cure I'd love to hear about it - even if it is a bit late for me now

Sorry other then what Faeml says I don't know of any preventative measures.

Prob best just to ensure physical and emotional wellbeing, organise support during that period and prearrange time of work if required so at least can reduce the stress.
I'm not looking forward to it either but I figure like the birth it is inevitable and natural so just go with it rather then being scared or fighting it.
Will be interested if someone does have any ideas on preventing/lessening morning sickness:thumbsup: I made sure I was eating and sleeping well, drinking lotsa fluids, excercising when I could (even a short walk) even though food came back up more often then not, and used ginger to ease nausea.

I'm on expert either because as one of the girl said above, every body reacts differently. however i do remember reading some where that the pg supplment elevit can reduce m/s by up to 55% ... so google them and have a look at their website.

In any event, when ttc you should be taking a pg supp to ensure your folic acid levels are high to protect against birth defects, etc.

i'm in my 2nd pg (due in august) and have been lucky enough not to have suffered from m/s.

Keeping yourself calm, focused and relaxed also helps when ttc but each of us are different .. i do yoga and find this fantastic.

lots of luck and try not to worry about something you cannot control 100% :) :)

Hi, I had severe morning sickness which lasted 31 weeks. My GP advised that before I fall pregnant again to make sure that I have all the vitamin B nutrients in my body as women who are lacking in vitamin b seem to suffer morning sickness more severely.

I remember reading that a detox - liver cleansing diet is great for pre-conception and helping with morning sickness.
