These are really quick and easy to make. You start with a pure wool jumper and give it a really hot wash to felt it up. Then, depending whether you want longies or shorties, you cut the jumper accordingly. I usually get a pair of longies using the sleeves and a part of the jumper to fill the gap at the top and a pair of soakers from the rest.
If you want cute shorties, cut the shape of them and then use the cuffs of the sleeves for leg holes. You just sew them up on the sewing machine and then put elastic in the waist.
I'll see if I can find some photos of some of mine.

These are a couple of pairs of shorties made from jumpers and a pair of longies made from a light weight wool jumper. I also got a pair of soakers from this jumper.
Please excuse the grot on the longies as Hamish was wearing them today. :o

Um, no.:o I am someone who just kind of nuts it out as I go along. With the longies, I took the arms of the jumper and then had a bit of trouble trying to work out how to join them and fill the gap at the top. Eventually I trimmed them and used the waist band of the jumper as a waist for the longies.
To make the shorties I just cut out the shape from the jumper, using the seam for one side, and then add the cuffs and sew over a bit for the elastic at the top.
It's very much a fly by the seat of my pants hobby. :D
I've a couple of patterns here:
