View Full Version : Is there a medication?
Does anyone know if there is a medication to help with concentration?. My daughter has Autism and just started school this year she has a helper in the classroom with her but we are finding it still hard for her to concentrate is disruptive in class and still not focused on doing a sit down activity, lots of wandering.
I know there is medication for ADHD, is there anything for Autism? Even anything herbal.
Can anyone help?

Do you see a psychologist for your DD?
There is no medication for Austism but a psychologist should be able to help you and her with strategies to improve things.

High doses of fish oil are supposed to work wonders.Could ask a pharmacist/homeopath about
My SIL used it for a ADHD child instead of western meds. Takes a few months to work but at least is natural.

I had my DS1 on Eye-Q tablets (fish oil and evening primrose oil) and his concentration and behaviour improved a LOT at school.
Thanks for the help.
Mikala takes Kids Smart at the moment 2 capsules a day, which is fish oil and primrose.
We have had alot of help from psychogists, planning out routines & seperating her away from distractions.
Mikala is just a lively 5 year old with Autism.
I just am concerned that these early years are important for learning.
Have a Peda appointment later this month will have to discuss with him.

Hello,
I am not sure how effective it is but have you heard of biomedical therapy and nutrient level testing? My DS doesn't have Autism but he has other special needs. This treatment claims to have success with Autism and various learning, language and behavioural disorders.
We have recently had the nutrient level testing done. We are waiting the results at the moment. It's along the same lines as fish oil etc but on a much more grand, scientific scale. Making sure the body's nutrients are at their optimum levels so the brain functions at his best.
