I feel silly :o but just want to ask a funny question.......if DH and I had rompy pompy in the morning and AF arrived that night (and 4 days early too!!) does that morning's rompy pompy become "voided" of having any chance conceiving? I mean does that lot now have no chance of meeting the trophy at the end of the tunnel and creating life?

I think they may have missed their run - sorry!
Generally speaking you are at your most fertile during the middle of your cycle (ie 28 day cycle, you would be fertile around day 12-16).
Anyway, better luck next time - enjoy that practising! :)

Oh sorry but there would not be much chance of conception that close to AF. As peace angel said your fertile time is usually around the middle of the month.
Once your egg is released it only lasts for 24 sometimes 48hrs so your 'fertile window' each month is really small. AF will show up usually around 14days after you have ovulated so if you count back on your calendar you will have a idea of exactly when you did ovulate and when you are most fertile so you have a better chance of catching the egg next month:)
Do you chart your temperature at all? Its a fantastic way to pinpoint exactly when you ovulate and when you are fertile:)
i think sperm can only live in a hostile environment for 3 days so yep you missed the boat this time. :( the
Thanks guys....I thought it would have been a long shot but never mind....we enjoy practising.
Valosgirls....do you mind telling me how and when to chart my temp?

I too highly recommend using Fertility Friend:) - its brillaint and so imfomative!
All you need to start is a digital thermometor - preferably a basal one - a regular digital therm. will give you a reading for example of 36.5 whereas the basal ones will say 36.58, giving you that extra digit.
You can purchase them from the chemist but they are actually a lot cheaper on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com.au/BASAL-DIGITAL-OVULATION-THERMOMETER-TEST-PREGNANCY_W0QQitemZ7735280988QQcategoryZ1261QQssPa geNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem being only $15.95 + postage. This is where mine came from and it works great - the chemist ones were a lot pricier for some reason?
Each morning when you wake you take your temp ( as close to the same time each day as you can) and then enter it into your Fertility Friend chart and it will do all the work for you! Just sit back and watch and it will tell you when to BD, when you are fertile, when you ovulated etc.
Hope this helps,
Rik:)
Thanks everyone for all your help. I have had a look at Fertility Friends and yep....it's all there :D
Thanks again.
Okay so I have been playing around on Fertility Friends and came up with this: my cycle length is 32 days (is that okay?) and i'm fertile around day 15-17 and ovulate on day 18.Well obviously that changes each month.
Thanks for the tip on the website ladies it is great.
Shall keep you posted.
Now just getting DH into bed on those particular days hmmm.........;)
Well I am having quite a lot of fun on Fertility Friends. It's amazing what little bit of info can explain.
Except one thing......AF lasted a record breaking 3 and a half days with thrush to follow  This has never happened. AF is usually at least 5 days and thrush...well that's a rare thing and especially after AF.
Any ideas?
