Just thought there might be a couple of people interested in this fundraising film night at the Schonell Cinema at the University of Queensland on Saturday January 14 at 6.30pm.
It's to raise money for the Langri Tangpa Centre (Tibetan Buddhist Centre) in Newmarket. Among other things, Langri Tangpa run evening classes and courses, teach meditation and support the nearby 'Karuna' hospice for terminally ill patients. They rely solely on donations and fundraisers such as this.
The film is "Words of My Teacher", a documentary about Khyentse Norbu, who is a well known teacher of Tibetan Buddhism and a film-maker himself (he made "The Cup" and "Travellers and Magicians").
It's $15 ($13 concession) which includes supper beforehand starting at 5.30pm.
