Just thought it had gone a bit quiet on here recently.

It was buzzing when I joined a while ago.

Oh dear, is Beany baby using you as his own personal chew toy ?
He is indeed, the little wretch.
He's taken to being a little puppy, actually, nipping at my clothes and tugging them. Oh I look so well presented when I answer the doe in my grey stretchy pants ... with darker grey patches ALL over them ...
Perhaps I can pass them off as oh so trendy camouflage pants!
(Are they trendy? Were they ever?)

Helen - Sorry to hear you had a rough night, hope she is better tonight :fingerscrossed:
DH told me that DD was whinging on/off all night.......me I was oblivious to it, trying to recover from a head cold and ears keep blocking off.
Still I have managed to stop DH getting up everytime she stirs and giving her milk.....sigh, she is nearly 15 months old now and I have decided to give up trying to give her lumpy puree cause I want her eating proper solids (long standing eating/feeding issues) and DH is obsessing about getting as much into her as possible  This is only week one so she needs time to get used to the idea, but I know she is ready cause she wants to feed herself and has even taken to using a fork....properly
Anyway enough of that waffle.....
Beany - DD used to nip my shoulder all the time, hurt like hell. In the end I got so fed up with it that I did to her what my mum did to me.......soon as she nipped my on the shoulder, I shouted Ooowww and then took her hand and nipped (not very hard) the fleshy part on top and she has never bitten me since  Now she chooses to teeth on other stuff.
I'm lucky that I have met another UK mum who only lives about 20-30 mins drive away (Manxie) and she has just met yet another UK mum and so we are thinking of starting a UK mum meet up.
I can just see the shopping lists handed over to whoever goes to the UK on hols first....LOL
Today I am meeting up with some Auz mums at a play cafe and then making a Shep pie for dinner...exciting stuff huh.
Oh I've got you both beaten in the excitement stakes for today! We're going to go to the supermarket to buy cereal .... ooooooooooooo!
I was in the UK treats shop yesterday and was so close to just buying some proper Weetabix. The stuff here is like MDF (I can never say that without thinking about Changing Rooms!). Nasty nasty nasty! But the prospect of forking over $17 for the box just chills the frugal granny in me.
Oh and here (http://www.treatsfromhome.com.au/).
Am I your best friend now? :D

Not cheap is it.....owch. I was chatting to a friend last night about not being able to get bisto gravey (I always make my Shep pie with it) and having to use a substitute but I don't think I'm despirate enough to pay $7.50 for a box of Bisto. May well be bring a big bag of stuff back from UK if/when I get to go over there.
Hi:wave:
I'm here! LM not sure if you have already discovered it but there is a UK shop down in Glenelg, tiny tiny cant get a pram in there but does stock some of the favourites.
Beany I sent my DH to Treats from home when he was in Sydney a while ago. He was under strict instructions to get "proper" mint sauce, chocolate and crisps! Bless him he got the lot:smiliedance:
I think maybe I should contact Pixie to start up an import business! My mum is currently shipping me the second batch of M&S knickers for my DD. She is such a skinny minny and all the ones I've got here end up around her ankles. M&S do a small size, yeah for M&S:smiliedance:
I havent contacted the other UK mum yet I dont want to come across as too keen or a stalker! I was shopping the other day and heard a family with English Accents and couldnt resist turning around and telling them how good it was to hear their accents. Anyway me and the mum got talking, she has only just moved here and we exchanged nos, is that really sad? Anyway she seemed really nice so I'll send her a txt and who knows!
Got my mothers group today, my DD was terrorised by a boy last week, lets hope he behaves himself today.
Have a great day, everyone, hi millymoo hope you have a good meet up.
By the way I dont have teeth marks anymore, but I am sick of having my nipples constantly tweaked, DD is now also tweaking DH'S, she self weaned five months ago - any ideas!

Well thanks Beany i can`t wait to show that to them all when they come in from work and school! I agree the prices are steep but sometimes I just need a fix and this could be handy as there ain`t much doing up here! There is a sweet shop in the Hunter but that is all I know of.
Alpen!!! I really miss that and thought it was all over the world but sadly not! Muesli here is gross!
How is it up in QLD LM and Manxie? We thought about it before DH got the job here but he is hopeless when he gets hot, a real stress head and so I figured it was probably too humid. I love the heat myself but do get abit over it some days.Love to do my hair and make up but can`t from about dec to march as just too hot! That may sound a bit anal but anyway.....!
Shepherds pie sound good. 30 deg today so a cool tea for us!
Manxie I have not heard many English accents at all here but would have done the same...not sad at all. She is probably over the moon that you did it!
LM have good day at meet, mine was ok.

MM - I wouldn't know what QLD is like cause I live in Adelaide (South Aus) But here it's been piddling/pee'ing down buckets on and off.
Meet up was good, had to chase DD around a wee bit as she was all over the play cafe but now got one of the mums coming over as she is bored (she lives 10 mins drive from me) and her hubby is back late tonight.
Manxie - I agree with MM, you did the right thing and I'd text her now so she knows your serious about meeting up and didn't take her number out of obligation. If she has just moved here then she probably wants the company of someone familier ie a brit as much as we probably did when we moved over here
I did not know there was a UK shop in Glenelg...where is it?
Was your DD bullied today? Did she have fun?

:o:o:o back on tomorrow when Brain is not so spazzed out!!
Hi
Millymoo - I'm off to Queensland on holiday soon, will let you know how I cope with the humidity:D
LM-Mums group was awful:crying: DD was fine playing with the other kids until "X" arrived. I kept a very close eye but he sneakily shoved her and that was that. I ended up keeping very close to her but she was obviously really aggro as she freaked out when anyone came near and wouldnt share etc. She even ended up hitting me which she has never done before:( Contrast this with her the day before, sitting happily next to another little girl, sharing barbie's accessories:eek: I think I will give it a miss next week and then we will be away for the next three so hopefully they might both have gotten over it a bit.
The english shop is on Jetty Road if you are walking away from the coast its on the left hand side, cant remember what its next to and it is a really small shop so easy to miss.
Well I'm pooped so going to have an early night.

Thanks for the shop details, will have to try and find it, I've been up and down that street a few times but not come across it yet.

Morning everyone!
The one day this wek I don`t need the car so don`t have to take DH to work at 6am and Miss Milly is bright as a button at 5.30am!
So any chance of brain normality has gone! I am so:o LM about that!I have always thought you were up there!
Manxie I remember taking DD1 and DD2 to places where other kids were so badly behaved while the mother just chatted, ignors it and drank tea. It would make my blood boil, I did have a good friend back then whose DS was just so bad...biting, squeezing , pinching that we just had to call it a day. I hope it gets better. The maternal instinct that kicks in is unreal isn`t it. DD1 who is now 15 can still come home with a tale of another girl giving her hassle and I am off again! One thing it always tells me is when we are having a bad time (happens often when they are 15!) that instinct is still their and love unfounded.
Hi Bec..how is bub? How old is she now? I hope you are enjoying it.
Jif:fingerscrossed: for you, it must be an anxious time.Nice to meet you.
I have a day at home catching up on washing and bills today and am so glad after a busy week. Must also catch Eastenders at 1pm as it is just soooooooo good at the moment!
Did you know that Ruby was voted sexiest soap star at an awards thingy just before xmas! WTF!! Sorry that is abit *****y but had to be said!

Hi Jif - we started off in Melbourne, I loved it we lived in Kensington not far from Flemington. Unfortunately DH couldnt get work there so we had to move I was very sad.
Millymoo/LM- DH and I have been mulling this all over. Like you said LM why should DD be the one to suffer when it's X's fault. You hit the nail on the head re the chatting/ignoring and drinking tea. At one stage yesterday I felt like the childcare worker, entertaining the kids, trying to police their activities, while the other mums were at the other end of the room having a lovely chat drinking tea:rolleyes:
I think part of the problem is the children are bored, I have suggested we structure things a bit more but none of the others are interested. I am thinking I will go next week and say that maybe we need to introduce some discipline rules? If a child "misbehaves" i.e hitting/biting/refusing to take turns etc they get two warnings from the parent and on he third strike they have to go home? What do you think? Am i expecting too much? X turns 2 in a few weeks the others in 3 ish months.
I really hate confrontation and will be s@@t scared to raise this subject with the others!
Millymoo its wonderful that your 15 year old feel comfortable confiding in mum:thumbsup:
LM - maybe our next meet up shld be Glenelg to track down the bisto:D
Hope you allhave a great dayx

Do you have much to do with the mother..like have you chatted much at all before this began happening? I can just imagine the scene now and it is so frustrating.
Quick
I have a lurgy *sniffle* *cough* *splutter*
Best of luck jif! You're so restrained - I'd be peeing on a stick by now!
Manxie: I'd be much the same in your situation. I'm a wee widdle chicken. I'd want to say all these things and stomp my feet and scream at the woman but actually just flutter around it by suggesting structure. Try having a chat to the other mums (when X isn't around) and just say you're finding it hard to cope with the son's behaviour.
I hope you find a solution either way :hugs:
Rightio, off to feed the foot nibbler!
Hi
Thanks Beany & Millymoo- I dont have anything to do with this other mum other than the mums group.
I had another activity with three of the other mums from our group. One mum who has also had troubles with X is very determined that things get sorted out otherwise she too is going to call it a day. We have agreed that we need some rules and that we need to structure things to stop the kids getting out of hand.
Hopefully with the backing of this other mother I can be strong enough to raise the issue and see what they say.
Sorry this is turning into my vent page, I'll shut up now! Have got an old work colleague comming for lunch so I will enjoying hearing about how c""p work is and how I'm better off out of there!
Beany hope your lurgy gets better soon:D

MM - Seriously don't give it another thought about the location mix up, it's funny that you thought me in QLD. I have been up there on a hol....several years ago and loved the heat....hot but not humid but Adelaide won our hearts when we came here on hols in 05.....I was PG at the time and didn't even know it :D
Agree with Manxie, it's good your DD feels she can confide in you (even with the TMI stuff) it shows you have a good relationship/bond and I know many will envy that.
Manxie - I know it'll be hard but yes there has to be rules. I think having them taken home on thrid strike may be a bit too much to start with, maybe a time out chair? That way they can see all the other kids playing and it'll make them realise that if they continue to behave badly then they miss out on the fun......just a suggestion.
You may be supprised when you bring it up, i'll bet a number of the other mums are feeling the same way but are also too scared to say anything cause of not wanting to 'rock the boat'

Manxie How many go to this on average...could have one of those "general" notes if there are a few. You know where it outlines rules of "nice play" and how some bad behaviour is ruining it for others :ecomcity::ecomcity:. I always run the risk of exploding on the spot if I sit quiet for too long...but confrontation is horrible too!
LM am glad you like Adelaide...I always hear it is good down there....not up there in QLD!!:laughing:We will get down that way one day but been here so little time taking all our time and money to set up home etc!

Jude - Hi there and welcome, hope you enjoy chatting to us.
I'll bet your looking forward to your trip back, I have a trip planned shortly after x-mas (not paid for yet) and i'm just counting down the months.
Jif - Jan babe huh......do you have another bub already....sorry if you already said.....I have a very bad memory :o ........if it is no 2,3 ect then theres always the chance of it coming early....maybe a New Year bub ;)
MM - That stage of walking is nice and frustrating at the same time.....at least I thought so. Cause DD wanted to walk everywhere in the house but insisted on holding our hands tight, which ment I couldn't do anything else.
Helen: Asher had been doing the finger-hold-and-stand thing for a while but started grabbing furniture to pull himself up about a month ago. His first attempt at that was using the cot rail ... while the base was still on the higher setting ... at 1am  Too late for me to do anything about the base at that time. He sleeps in the same room as us though, thank goodness, so I just kept jumping out of bed as soon as I heard an "I'm awake" noise.
He's been climbing up me and just letting go for a couple of seconds in the last few days. Last night, he just stood up until the end of the Balamory song. Must be the babies' national anthem :D
Londonmum: I was thinking much the same thing - Jif's little one could just get all annoyed at being left out of the New Years Eve parties and make a grand entrance just after midnight!

Hi
My parents and older sister still live in Hull so no doubt I will be paying a visit to 'The Deep' aquarium thing.
My younger sister lives in Bath and has her second baby due in September..her daughter turns one this month, new baby is a boy, so looking forward to meeting them both.
Will be spending most of my time between the two cities with a few visits to Leeds to see some friends.
Not looking forward to the cold though, not only temperature wise, but will have so many bulky things to pack. Don't think I have owned a coat for the last 7 years.
My son is 18 months so he will be really excited!!
See, that's why I want to move to Hobart. The climate is so much more similar to that of England ... and it's such a lovely little city too!
Alas, coming from London and then living in Sydney, I think I may go a teeny tiny bit bonkers in a small town like Hobart.
Maybe I'll just move to Canada.

Wow, not had a coat in 7 yrs now thats impressive. But I understand what you mean re carrying thick stuff, but if your staying with family you could always borrow jumpers from them or take just a couple items and wash when needed.

Ohhh a new home lol
I am back from the sticks was bloody hot in Devon sheshh 24C on the day of the funeral.
Quick run down got stuck on the worlds biggest carpark IE M25 for 3 friggen hours did 73 miles my poor sister I then took over and drove to Barnstaple the prayers service was at 3pm we arrived at 2.45pm talk about tight! We then went into to view George well he just looked like he was asleep he looked so, so peaceful I have seen dead people before and he didn't have that grey look about him, his lips were purple but they were bruised from hospital he looked so happy and had a little smile!
So we sat around the hospice and chatted then we stayed at my BM house which was spooky knowing that George had passed away we left the lights on and slept in the same bed my sister, Eliza and me lol
The actual funeral was beautiful I have never laughed so much in such a place the stories from his teachers and his carers and my BM was so funny and lovely the place was awash with flowers my sister had some multi coloured one flown in from Amsterdam they were for George as he loved the musical Joseph I wish I had taken pictures of them. I took pictures of the whole service my BM asked me to.
At the end in the cemetery we released 200 balloons, there were more than 200 ppeople there I'd say 280 but the deep blue sky and the balloons going were magical. I am going to change my avatar to the balloons!
he had a bright red coffin with windows painted on the side and a #5 on top he went to visit the set of Deal or No Deal here in the UK and he got case/box #5 so he wanted his coffin red with the #5 he planned it all and it was great I am sure he was loving every minute!
I haven't read this thread so might have a squizz!
I am soooooooo tired!

How is your BM coping ?
39 day cycle....I can relate to that. I decide to go ahead with having no.2 and my cycles go wacky. In Jan I was 2 weeks late and I wasn't even trying then  and this month I was 8 days late.......sigh.

Well ladies, my DD decided to upchuck at 5pm tonight, brought up the milk I gave her at 3pm pre her nap....only it was more like cottage cheese :barf: Normally when she's been sick then she is right as rain and can eat drink normally so we gave her supper at 6'ish, which she didn't eat much of and she took some milk. 10 mins later up it comes again, so we calm her down and give her a bath and get her ready for bed and she seems ok so we risk giving her some milk again (not wanting to put her down with empty stomach). She seems happy enough and stands up in the cot as I'm reading to her and then no warning......up it comes again. So nothing more till morning, see how she goes. I hope she doesn't have a gastro bug as we are moving houses tomorrow and monday which will not be easy with a poorly bub.
Which reminds me, I may be MIA from Monday as wont have internet access for at least 3 days.....and thats only if they have their act together.

Hey I am a UK person but actually living in melbourne!! so im here too
Hi:wave: Shell1985, welcome
LM-Hope you had a good night:fingerscrossed: DD has woken up with a rotten cold so thats what was bugging her yesterday. She had a disturbed night, didnt have to get up to her but she kept waking and then resettling herself after a little moan. Glad you wont be miffied if a miracle occurs here! To be honest I've got no idea of my chances of a bfp, DD took two years but most of that wasnt really trying IYKWIM. I was however a lot fitter, and thinner when she was made:rolleyes:
Anyone watch the Bill last night? Pixie if your watching it, no spilling the beans ok? Mind you its so far ahead over there I will probably forget the storyline before it gets here. Its only just catching up to the plot that we saw back in October, in the UK
Have a great day everyone, we are off to the farmers market this morning to get the veggies and taking it easy this afternoon.
Good luck with the move LM.

Manxie - Well DD threw up another couple times after going to bed, we ran out of sheets and sleep bags by the last time and rest were drying so we were hoping she wouldn't throw up again. As it happens she didn't but she did cry out a few times in the night and DH got up to her every time to make sure she hadn't been sick again and to settle her back down. So none of us got a lot of sleep last night.
DH gave her some water about 6am when she woke and she kept that down so he risked giving her breakfast and she kept that down too so looks like it was a short term thing thankfully....maybe something she ate
Sorry to hear your DD has a cold, hope she shakes it off quick so she can go back to being her happy and cheerfull self.
As for getting PG, you may be supprised. One of the mums I know took 11 months to get PG with no 1 and that was active trying, this time round.....1st time
Welcome to Michelle, how long you been in Melbourne?

:wave:Michelle. Welcome ! be good to see you here.
Manxie and LM it sound like you have had a really ****ty weekend with colds and sickness. I spent many a night up when my teens were young. Touch wood Milly has not had anything yet except the biggest bogies this weekend . It is so hard to clean her nose as she throws her head from dide to side yelling. It just isn`t a good look though...I did keep telling her!
Am just cooking Roast Beef, roast potatoes, carrots and cauliflower cheese! Yummy smells.
LM I am up and down as to whether to search for my BM. I have checked the adoption forum here and most had so it got me thinking! Now I am here though would need an agent. Pixie has been a great help. I am always searching for that right time but don`t know if exists.
I have my fingers crossed for all of you ttc...quite a few now. You`ll be getting me broody. Milly gets me broody! i have loved doing her room but need more stickerounds...they can be re used and are fab I think. Very effective. I got them from an online shop through ebay after seeing them on the disney website. They had loads of different ones but we had decided on Tink!
Hi to everyone and hope you are having great weekend!
h x
Ah Helen, come cook dinner for me!
So far today I have had some iced coffee, a jelly cup and a pack of crisps. Aren't I healthy? :banghead: No wonder my back side resembles the rear end of a double decker! .... Mmmmmm Double Decker bars ....

I saw a UK show yesterday...think it was wife swap on Lifestyle and saw..POT NOODLES! Now I loved them, especcially chicken! Maggi 2 min noodles just don`t cut it do they.
I am trying to be all mumsy today...hence the roast dinner...it may all change tomorrow. I also let them have 3 mates to sleep last night! I must be mad. Next weekend will be different...AF on her way by then!!:devil6:
Has Asher stood up again today?
hmmmmm fooood I am on a major diet and exercise trip :D
my DP bought Twiglets the other day he was explaining them last night and how he hated them he didn't remember the name but we worked it out lol
No repeat performance of the standing up, yet. I think he's going to wait until I've forgotten that he can do it and then do so at the most inconvenient time. Like when I'm changing a pooey nappy ...
He did the same thing with rolling. He did it once, carried on for a day or two (and I had witnesses! In fact, Nat saw it!) and then just stopped. Completely and utterly. Refused to even acknowledge that such a thing could be done for about a month! And then there I was, changing a nappy, and he rolled over with not effort whatsoever ...
Nat: the original Twiglets are icky. They taste burnt. The Worcestershire Sauce flavoured one, however, is manna from heaven!

I do like Twiglets...I am a Marmite freak tho and they have that all over them so yummy!
Amelia rolled at 3-4 mths and won`t now.... very similar Beany to Asher...they were nagging me last week to get her on her tummy more. She seems happy sitting and standing, holding something.

Millymoo-That picture is very cute :D , can I come to your house for tea? Are you doing Yorkshire Puds?? Yum, Yum.
Pot Noodles:barf: , (I knew I'd find a use for that smiley one day) I could never stand them sorry!
But Double Deckers, yum one of my favourites.
Beany - Trust me, dont encourage the standing up/walking thing, your life will never be the same again  I feel like tying DD to a chair some days - (ooh wonders if someone will "dob" me into Social Services!) Honestly I was desparate for DD to walk, she had some problems which meant she was late and it was very frustrating for a while, but now, there is no stopping her.
Oh Manx, I have literally a dozen nephews and nieces who all lived with us variously during the early years. Believe me, I'm in no rush for him to start walking! I'm thinking of hanging weights off him to prevent it, in fact!

Good luck what ever decision you make re the BM decision, it's a hard thing to do, deciding whether or not to go looking for your BM or not.
So if Millie is making you broody then are you going for another ? ;)
Re the stickers, which site did you get them off? I'm looking for some of those reusable stickers to decorate DD's room but haven't found any I like yet. DH wants a jungle theme but I'd prefer Winnie the Pooh
And what a lovely pic of Milly, she certainly looks pleased with herself there.

Re pot noodles, I can take or leave them, but I'm sure I saw them (or something very simular) in Coles.
Pixie - been trying the weight loss and exercise thing myself but that darn chocolate keeps getting in my way. I have a wardrobe full of clothes I haven't been able to get into since I got PG.....ooops.

Ooohh LM...more? I really am stuck on that one. It took me ages to decide on when to have Amelia as my two were in high school but always felt DH was so good bringing my girls up with me and so he deserved to have one of his own. It was abit daunting but hey now look. I love being a Mum to a baby even more this time round and yes could have more but would want a larger age gap eg 5 yrs which puts me at 41 when preggers. DH is not happy with that. It is a horrible feeling when age is not on your side!So the jury is still out.
I have PM`d you the details for the stickers too.
Yorkshire Puds!! Now in the UK I used to buy Aunt Bessies frozen ones but did look up a recipe last night as can`t get them in Coles! May try it one day but it was too far into the roast as it said to leave batter in the bowl 2 hrs!In The fridge. Takes me back to my days of living with aguy in Leeds. He would go down the working mens club with his dad and grandad at lunch while his mum spent all morning preparing the roast. Yorkshire pudding was a starter! Wierd. I got into it abit but when I left him found I didn`t make a roast for years...I was over it!
Amelia has had 2 ten min naps since 6am!:banghead: every time I put her down she wakes.
LM and Manxie ...I hope your little ones are better now
H x
LM- Hope the moving is going ok and that DD is better
MM- I can completely understand the age thing with TTC. I was 35 when dd was born and if :fingerscrossed: I get a :bfp: sometime this year will be 37 when no 2 comes along. Isnt it scary how the time flies? I think my biggest worry with the age is whether or not to have any testing done. I didnt worry too much with DD1 just had the NT scan & bloods. However, this time I dont know, there is DD1 to consider now.
Arrh Yorkshire men, bless em! That story reminds me of a Lancashire lad I went out with (very briefly, lol!) We used to go out on Friday night but as soon as we got to the club/pub etc he would dissapear off with his mates and then "collect me" on his way home. Not the done thing to actually spend the evening talking to your partner apparently. I just didnt get it!
DD still snotty and seems to have turned into a terrible two monster overnight, helllllppppp!:devil6:

Milly is snotty too and I am trying to prevent any crying as it just goes everywhere then. She has just gone to slepp...this time for a while I think.
I had the same tests as you but it is so hard to know what to do , especially as the amnio has a risk of causing miscarriage. Very hard. Hope you do get a :bfp: soon. It will be good to share with you.
Yes.....Friday nights were lads nights and Saturday i was allowed to go out with him.So old fashioned he was like that...but it seemed the norm really. my mum is from Stockport (hasn`t lived there since a kid tho) and they had yorkshires for pud with jam on!! WTF!

Hi all, been AWOL for 4 weeks in the UK. Got a few quotes but skimmed a bit too.
I think you did the right thing. I'd love it. I don't know about others but I'm finding it hard to make friends here. I've handed my number out at DD's music class, swim class, etc but never hear a thing. I have started a regular coffee morning with my aquamums but the one I got on best with has just moved to Cairns!
Hi
Hopefully with the backing of this other mother I can be strong enough to raise the issue and see what they say.
Good luck with that!!
Yep - agree with that
Well guess what girlies?!:bfp:!!
Went to the docs and had the blood test which has come back ++!
I'm in shock and not sure what to do next! Doc gave me a couple of weeks to think about my care plan!
Congrats!!!
Hi
Just thought I'd introduce myself..I'm Jude live in Brisbane and been here for 7 years. Originally from Hull, but lived in Leeds for 7 years.
I particularly miss all the pommie crisps and haddock and chips. We are heading back for 4 weeks over Christmas so getting really excited. Will probably return twice the size.
Hi there JJs Mum. I"m in Brisbane too. Just been back to the UK, still getting over jetlag, and only put on 2.5kg which is a lot less than I thought as my mum would make shepherd's pie, all have 2nd helpings, tehn rhubarb crumble and custard, then Belgian choccies!!!
[quote=JJ's mum;1421531]Hi
Not looking forward to the cold though, not only temperature wise, but will have so many bulky things to pack. Don't think I have owned a coat for the last 7 years.
[\quote]
UK is actually having the hottest 12 months in 350 years, it only rained twice in 3 weeks and was lovely and sunny the whole time!! Had a great time seeing all my family and friends and taking the kids to zoos and parks and stately homes. Plus did some shopping at my favourite clothing store - Next!! Got to see my parent's and brother's and best friends new houses - all lovely. Ate loads of UK choccie Easter Eggs! So glorious seeing England in the sunny springtime
Did it solo back with the 2 kids and they were sooooo excellent!!! First flight back tehy slept for 6 hours and I did, on and off, so most of the flight was over when we woke up. DS only cried twice when he was hungry and DD had a couple of 10 mins tired moments and that was all. Only used the portable DVD once!! DD brilliant with jetlag, just keep her up until bedtime then she goes and sleeps for 14 hours! DS is geting there slowly hence why I"m on here now. He's already been up 3 times since 6pm. Wondering if it's worth going to bed??
Hope all is well with you all, hi to old and new!!
Tell me about the sunshine :D 4 weeks straight no rain what so ever here in Kent lovely!!!! Rained today and yesterday but sprinkling nothing major.
ahhhh NEXT we spent the arvo out at Bluewater I got myself two new tops might even take some pictures if I am feeling thin enough lol
I am editing all the pictures I took for the funeral they are beautiful even if I do say so myself lol
Beany wow Asher standing already scary times ahead lol I bought reins for Eliza today she runs not walks hilarious moment outside some young chav shop loud music etc she stops and dances did some head banging lol it's so funny she really head bangs!!
I could yack on more but got more photos to edit!

:wave:Everyone!
Welcome back Gail. Sounds like you had a great time!
It will be a long time before we go back as have worked out it will be at least $10k in flights. We seem to be still catching up from the move over here!:crying:
I can only imagine how wonderful the early English summer was. Nothing better than the UK when the weather is good!
Pixie how is the editing of the pics going. The balloons are lovely. Mum and Dad seem to be going to alot of funerals lately and they are all doom and gloom...it should be a celebration of life like Georges. How is yr BM and family and you feeling now?
Beany is Asher on the move yet! He looked pretty steady on those legs. Amelia pushed up on all fours last night...break through.
LM how did you find the website. I think it has a fab choice. Think some mums have set it up at home.
Manxie hope DD better. Amelia was up every 10 mins last night til midnight when I finally got in bed with her. She is asleep now but getting abit worried about how attached to me she is when sleeping. Slipped into a bad habit there.
I should be having a nap too but want abit of me time! Goes too quick if i sleep too.
Hi all:wave:
This will just big a quickie as I now have DD's rotten cold and feel like c@@p so am going to get my head down while the going is good.
Millymoo - hope Amelia is feeling better. I know what you mean about creating bad habits DD is a shocker if you give her an inch she expects no demands it all the time:rolleyes: Still you've got to love those cuddles and there will come a time when they wont want to cuddle us I guess.
Welcome back Gail your trip sounds fantastic am very jealous. If we dont have another bub I have told hubby we are going back next year either in August or chrismtas time. I am getting a bit desparate to see my mum who is just undergoing her last lot of chemo.
Pixie-come on be brave post a piccie of you in your new Next clobber and make us all jealous.
LM-hope you and DD are feeling better, I gather from sticky beaking at the Adelaide thread that you've had gastro, you poor thing.
Off to crawl into bed, when I can drag myself away from this computer.
By the way I'm a real wimp - have blown out mums group tomorrow, I just cant face it. DD has only just returned to her "normal" happy self and I cant handle any more days of violence towards me:eek:
Helen: There hasn't been a repeat performance of the independent standing as yet! He still climbs up using furniture or a box on the floor or a person within reach but nothing like that of the other night. Thank goodness!
He crawls around destroying everything without respite as it is. I'm not ready for feet!
Nat: I've been thinking about you all week. Hope you and your family are doing well :hugs: What a sweet brother you had to be thinking of everyone else's joy during his troubles.

PMSL!! Well I do owe :devil6: some germs as it was him that gave DD rotavirus last year:rolleyes: Have handed over the key now so let them fight it out themselves, will see if anything changes while I'm away and decide whether or not to go back.
DD's ears are now hurting just hope they are better before we fly next week else she might just scream for four hours on the flight, deep joy!
Hope everyone had a good day bit quiet in here
Are you flying here Manxie? Sorry I am behind with news!
I am tired and still doing poo loads of paperwork in regards to importing my car :banghead:
I am to lazy to comment here there or anywhere the past few days I am here reading but that's it just really tired!
Hi Pixie
No, I wish off to Cairns really looking forward to it though.
Dont worry about not posting. I guess you are really emotionally drained at the moment?
I am a bit drained emotionally and I feel stressed bit all over the place.
I am sure I will be back to normal in no time.
Have fun in Cairns you'll have to go on the Kuranda train it's fun especially for the kiddies

I had to have a CVS and a scan every month from 12 - 28 weeks because of problems they found on the scans......makes me wonder if we aren't going over the top now.....you know what they say "A little information is a powerfull and dangerous thing".
Still if I had to go through it again I would, but I'd be a whole lot calmer about it then I was first time around.

DD picked up a gastro bug, don't know who or where from. She was up-chucking for 2 days and so I couldn't leave her with my friend when we were doing the bulk of the move. Ment I had to go in the old place today and finish up cleaning whilst inspection taking place.
But yeh DD passed her germs to us and we were both up all night....good thing we now have too loos :barf:
I can't say I blame you re not going tomorrow, esp if your feeling so rough. Fingers crossed things will have sorted themselves out by time you get back.
DD's ears are now hurting just hope they are better before we fly next week else she might just scream for four hours on the flight, deep joy!
Have you got any decongestant drops like Karvol? Works really well on clearing the ears.....thats what I was using last week. Also saw it recommended by some mums on UK parenting forum (hence why I have some)
Hi Pixie
No, I wish off to Cairns really looking forward to it though.

Still have access, so looking good  So either Bigpond were lying and have already connected us or one of my neighbours doesn't have protected connection which is not good for them as anyone could download stuff using their connection limit.
Oy vey, this motherhood lark is hard!
Asher's ill. Did I mention that here? Can't remember, but anyway, he's ill. He had a high temperature last night and was a very unhappy little lad. Gave him some panadol and that seemed to make things a little better. Maybe a little TOO better ... stayed up until nearly 1am playing and watching TV!
Just as I had got to bed myself at around 2am, he woke up and cried and whinged and fussed until 5:30am. 5 bleeding 30 in the bleeding morning - that's when I actually finally managed to get 2 hours of sleep. 2 poxy hours until he woke up again.
Granted he went back to sleep after a feed (that lasted 30 minutes! what is he newborn again?!) and woke up for the day at 9am.
He's only just gone for a nap at 3:30pm. He's been so tired and cranky but just couldn't/wouldn't sleep. He actually had dark circles and bags under his eyes but wouldn't settle down for a sleep. He's still quite warm so I suspect he might have a bit of a headache or something.
I just want to collapse in a heap unfortunately all the heaps around here are either dirty washing or washing waiting to be put away.
And he's awake :banghead:
Jeez Beany he is a serious night owl. Have you thought of trying to keep him awake more in the day, is that even possible does he sleep? Sounds like teeth to me. Eliza gets very hot when she's teething really badly.
Eliza has always been a good night sleeper I am beside myself if she's still awake at 9.30pm as I go to be very early!
Also have you thought of using neurofen? I changed from Panadol to Neurofen it just works a little better you can also use both at the same time. I tend to give half, half when she is like that. It really settles her. If he is teething I highly recommend getting "Hylands teething tablets" they are like baby crack you can get them from priceline and in pitt street mall soul pattersons.
I am feeling much better today had a real rough day yesterday missed Australia, missed my friends, bubhub meet ups, going into the middle of no where. But I am really enjoying my life here now, I am getting to know my family more and the lifestyle is pretty darn good I can't complain!
I get my car soon :yelclap:
Talking of being ill and sick while away in Devon Eliza got some bug the last night she had a raging temp and early morning was sick then while having breakfast she hurled a la excorcist style all over the floor, she was so ill poor thing
**** Eiza just gave my sisters dog the TV remote and she chewed it OK better go lol

Apparently the karunda train is out of action still I think thet had a landslide earlier this year but we are going to go on the skyrail which will be fun.
DH has broken the news that he want to spend mothers day with the MIL, deep, deep joy:rolleyes: I have said that maybe next year I will celebrate the UK Mothers day as it seems to blow his mind that he has to think about two people at once. Last year he got me a bottle of baileys which he drank most of! MEN! This year I have asked for a lie in, what about the rest of you doing anything nice??
Hope you are settling into the new house LM and all over the gastro

Is Asher any better?
Pixie - Nice pics. Sounds like all the bubs have been sick recently....is there something in the air I wonder  Anyway how is Eliza?
Manxie - How are your and DD's colds? any better? remind me when are you guys flying off? Just so I don't go texting you to see if you want to meet up.....don't think I fancy driving all the way to Cairns....but then again for the Bratty's I might be tempted
We are doing much better, saying that I haven't eaten properally since monday, just don't fancy it. I am eating but things like cerial or toast and boiled eggs, don't think stomach can handle anything more heavy just yet. Saying that DD has only just started eating a bit more herself, at least she is back to eating the regular small amounts she was eating before gastro bug.
DH home tonight, looking forward to that. Hope to get lay in's over the weekend. Got DD's swimming tomorrow and then going to Marion to do a little shopping on Sunday, nothing exciting, just a few bits for the new place.
Hi
Millymoo/LM - We leave on Tuesday :smiliedance:
I know what you mean about the lack of funds. We are doing this on the cheap, we got 2 for the price of 1 fares with Jetstar and are staying with DH's BIL&Wife. They have two houses (one a work house) so hopefully we will have space. We have also got the use of a car while we are there.
LM- glad that you are feeling a bit better good idea to take it easy on the eating front. I could do with a good bout of gastro to get rid of some of my lard:eek: Only if I dont have to look after DD mind you.

Hi
LM- glad that you are feeling a bit better good idea to take it easy on the eating front. I could do with a good bout of gastro to get rid of some of my lard:eek: Only if I dont have to look after DD mind you.
Trust me you don't want to be sitting on the loo with a container on your lap cause your going both ends at same time (sorry if TMI), not a whole lot of fun  Yes I did end up with a flatter tummy but the lard is still there
Sounds like you'll have a good time away, i'll bet your looking forward to it. Remind me how long you gone for? is it 2 weeks?
We're going to miss you on here.....but then if your as bad as me you'll probably find a way to get online for a quick chat ;)
LM- :barf: I rember getting food poisioning once after a dodgy aussie chalet boy (sking holiday) decided to defrost a leg of lamb on a radiator. I just sat in a bath and let it flow:eek:
wont be back til the end of the month, not sure may take the laptop with us so I can keep emailing mum and who knows bubhub may just find its way up!
Ooh just got to share.
My DD was looking at a picture of my mum cuddling her and she waved and said "hello, grandma, moon and back". (I tell DD I love her to the moon and back).
I could have cried:D
Very quiet in here today:detective:

Not a word used for me very often!
That is very sweet about yr Mum...I am thinking I will have to let Milly grow up with alot of family pics in her room so she knows them all!

Sorry Manxie....was at work and though I posted earlier, I was supposed to be working even though I didn't have many patients......so thought it best I be a good girl and look like I was being constructive with my time :D
Nice story about your mum and DD, I know the book that comes from. DD has it as well and love the story and it's just one of those books that brings a tear to my eye...silly huh :o

It is amazing Lm how a bit of time off this place leaves you pining!!
It is so addictive but so much fun and great place to catch up with uk people!
There are soooo few here where I am. I have met 2 from England and a few from Scotland. All 45+ and none with bubs.
Make sure you stay connected cos with Manxie going away it will be so quiet.
*cough* what am I, chopped liver?
:D
Well we went to a bubhub meet today in Darling Harbour in honour of a visiting Melbournite (Chellegoth) and I met a Dubliner/Londoner there! Are you watching , MariaO? Join in!
It was great getting out of the house, especially having been confined to it for a couple of days with a sick child. I thought it would be another awful night last night but he actually got a decent stretch of sleep from 2:30am (when his fever finally broke a little) until 7:30am. Quick feed and back to bed for an hour :yelclap:
He's been so much happier today - he even laughed in the morning! His first laugh since Wednesday night ...
Hopefully I'll be able to keep up with the hubbing a bit more now that he's not so clingy!
Oh I am here as usual hehe
I nearly hurled reading your :barf:in the bath story Manx whewwwey lol
Oh wish I could of come to a bubhub meet up, I do gt stopped on the street here now from the other mums one in particular but of course can't invite her for coffee inside but I think next week after storytime which I missed as Eliza was asleep we shall go for coffee I need some interaction with other mummies.
Unal (dp) has been great the past week I tell ya though he blew it all away this morning with some smart **** comment. Men I tell ya lol
I am having two hours away from Eliza tomorrow my sister wil be looking after her I am getting my hair done and just having a break she is so demanding lately!!!

2 hours peace sound lovely to me. I am abit over it today as Milly is just dummying on me again at night and feel it needs to stop but is going to take some serious will power! Hard when tired.
I always worried when preg with DD2 that I wouldnt be able to love her as much as DD1 but of course I could. Also DD1 was 2 when I fell preggers and all my pals were on number 2 and I was feeling left behind. It felt the right time!It was so hard at first but soon settled into normality.
With 3 Milly is the easy one...it`s the taxi service I hate. Teenagers get so busy!
You are lucky to be at it hammer and tongs. None here, especially as I am in with Milly most night from late! Sadly DH doesnt seem bothered!:o
Beany I really hope Asher gets well soon and back to old self.More of that standing up maybe?

Morning
MM-If I could get off my butt I'd like to put together a photo album of my family for DD to leaf through, its one of those jobs on my to do list. IF I get up the duff I will be hassling you with lots of questions on how to cope. Must admit I'm feeling a little :barf: but think it might actually be the elevit I'm taking anyone else get that?
Beany-nasty cough you've got there:D I would love to meet Challengegoth her posts always crack me up. When people are being all soppy she just goes in there with a very down to earth one liner, is she like this IRL! Glad DS is on the mend
Pixie-Ooh 2hours off fantastic, I desparately need a hair cut, havent had one since October, how feral is that:eek: I did hint for mothers day but nothing forthcoming and with DH working all weekend dont suppose my luck will be in.
LM-the funny thing about that book is that DD freaks out at the end when its all supposed to be happy, she thinks that the rabbit is sad, strange child. Must get it from her father, LOL.
Oh well, another exciting day for me:rolleyes: DD was up in the night from 3am until 4am. Think that now she is toilet trained during the day she wakes up if she needs a wee and then thinks its time to party. We then started the day at 5.30am so needless to say I'm grumpy as.

I have just woken from a 3 hr sleep!! Yes 3 hrs. Milly was asleep for half of it then DH had her. Think he is feeling I am at the end of my tether with the whole co sleeping/belig a dummy all night. really need to get a change of pattern going. Really tryimg her with the solids too but she isnt really bothered.
I took Elevit Manxie....upset my stomach tho and made me go for a "number two" rather often!I asked at the chemist and they couldnt give any advise on it. i changed to a Blackmores one in the end. I was going to take it through BFeeding but have gone back to normal vits.

Sorry I was MIA today, had a lay in and DH brought me breaky in bed (nothing exciting only rolled oats and a cup of tea) cause we are going out shopping tomorrow and so wont get a lay in then.
I'm sure we can find stuff to talk about whilst Manxie is away :D

Oooooowwww....Liver and onions nice :D
Glad to hear Asher is better today and I know what you been about wanting to get out of the house, some days you just go stir crazy when stuck inside.
Pixie - I think it's very important to go get a drink after something like that, sometimes it's the only way to meet and get to know other mums. Very social and relaxed without the awkwardness of inviting someone to your own home till your sure they are not a wierdo
So what did Unal say that swipped away all his good boy points ?
Enjoy your 2 hours away, but I'll bet you'll miss Eliza fiercly. I know the first time I got to go out for the day with some girlfriends, I kept seeing mums with their bubs and I just missed my DD and felt guilty about being out enjoying myself....silly huh.
Going for number 2 as well ? Good luck on that, yeh it can be scarey thinking about careing for 2 little ones but at the same time I think it'll be.......ummmmm evigorating
2 hours peace sound lovely to me. I am abit over it today as Milly is just dummying on me again at night and feel it needs to stop but is going to take some serious will power! Hard when tired.

MM I really don't know how you manage to co-habit, I'm sure it must be worthwhile but I have to have my sleep. DD was in a basinet next to me for 3 months and then in her own room (I breast fed for 3 months only.....health issues stopped me doing longer) and I have to say I slept better once she was in her own room cause every time she made a snuffle or moved slightly I was wide awake.
As for not getting 'it', have you spoken to your DH about it? Maybe he's not worried because he's one of those rare guys whos not driven by sex and is content just to be with you, or maybe it's cause of Milly sleeping with you.......dunno but might be worth asking him.
Must admit I'm feeling a little but think it might actually be the elevit I'm taking anyone else get that?
Yeh I'm taking that, but I've had to take so many meds over the years for my joint probs that I don't think there are many over counter meds that will upset my stomach.
Well DD got her first swim certificate....Freefall.....thats where they sit on the edge of the pool and then 'throw' themselves at you and into the water, it's so cute cause DD was clapping in time to the singing of 'Humpty Dumpty' and then on que she lanched herself at DH and into the water. Anyway, proud mum moment.....must get a foler for her certificates.
Then this eve I joined 2 other mums and went to the movies to see "Cause I said so", funny movie, chick flick for sure but was good.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY:hugs:
LM-Hope you have a great time shopping today and get spoilt.
DH gave me a lie in, ha, ha. He got up with DD at 5.15am and they were in the park by 7am, LOL! I am now allowing him half an hour in bed before we go out for breaky and then he's got towork.
I just got an email from my mum telling me to hang on to DD for dear life. The papers in the UK are full of the little girl, Maddy who got abducted in Portugal. I cant imagine how those parents must be feeling, one silly decision and your life is forever ruined:gloomy: Pixie i guess you are hearing a lot about it.
MM- Elevit upsets my stomach as well I think its the Iron in it. I need to stop reading the ttc threads on here as I could send myself crazy. Even though last time it took 2 years at least I wasnt stressing about it, this time though I worry that I'm not temp charting and checking my mucous:eek: A little bit of knowledge....
I felt really down the other day as I feel like I am loosing one of my best UK friends. We have been really close for 15 years. She never initiates emails anymore and the last couple I got she signed of with "regards". WTF! I felt like a business colleague. I think the real issue is that she is 40+ and her and DH have decided not to have children and us having DD is a bit confrontational for her. Its such a shame though and I hope that we can get over this hurdle. I guess she is just a little down at the moment, she has the big dream house but never gets to enjoy it as her and DH commute 2hours each way and work crazy hours. She mentioned in her last email how everyone she knows is "sprogging" around her (cant stand that expression) and how she was so glad that two of our mutual friends dont have kids....great. I guess its inevitable that friendships will wane, the distance isnt really helpful in maintaining them.
Anyone apologies for off-loading, enjoy your day.
Aww Manxie: I'm sorry to hear about your friendship. Have you tried calling her? Real time conversation might revive it all a bit. I do that with my best friend over there, too ... We generally spend weeks not contacting each other much but, as I have Asher and uni and she has 3 kids and a job, we both understand. Some weekends I surprise her with a call - it always just feels like old times and we end up yakking on for hours about nonsense.
LM: Asher still sleeps in the same room as me. He's always been in his cot next to my bed and, although in the early weeks/months I used to call him Snuffuluffagus, after a while, it all just stopped. There was many a night when I was lying there straining to hear him breathing, jumping out of bed in a panic to feel his chest, utterly sure he was dead because he wasn't making even the slightest noise.
We live in a small unit so there's no chance of putting him in his own room (there isn't one!) but even if there was, I wouldn't ... I honestly couldn't be arsed getting out of bed umpteen times a night to trudge to another room to feed/settle him. It would wake me up too much! (I know aren't I a lazy old cow?! )
Helen: I hope the dummying situation is improving. You have my sympathy - been there! It does get better. Sometimes you have to be firm about it, though. I would take Asher off and rock him as he whinged. If it got worse, I would jump up and down on the bed, shushing loudly. After a couple of cries, he would sometimes calm down and go to sleep. Sometimes not. But I kept up with that (still giving him the breast if he started to get really upset) and eventually he just stopped being so needy. If that fails, have you tried a dummy?
Oh and I thought of you yesterday in Borders ... there was a children's book there called "Millie Moo" :D
Pix: why can't you invite the other mum for coffee inside? I am glad that you are enjoying life in the UK - you seemed so nervous about going back but it all seems to have been a great move after all!
Happy mother's day all!

Happy Mothers Day everyone
Manxie - Ditto with Beany, sorry to hear it's not working out with your friend and agree perhaps you could call her or maybe email again and tell her how your feeling and see what happens.
As you said friendships change all the time, some get better and and some die off. Since coming over here I have experienced that myself as has DH, some friends who promised to keep in touch (one of DD's godparents incl) have not and some who were just casual friends email/msn us quite often......wierd how that works out huh.
So you got a little lay in, well I suppose it's better then a kick in the pants. DH and I both stayed in bed till 08.20 am and then he got up to DD and gave her breaky whilst I got ready.
We went to Marion shopping center today, when we got there we thought maybe it was a waste of time cause none of the shops were open. But it just turns out we got there 20 mins before shops were due to open (11am opening) and so we got the things we wanted to get such as new shower head, light shades and exciting stuff like that. We did treat DD though, got her this really sweat kids sofa. It's a bit bright with 2 different pink stipes and green stipe on the arms and pink flowers on the back and seat but DD loves it
So what did everyone get for Mothers day? I got a CD (just a token gift given we are having to spend so much on house).
:fingerscrossed: For a BFP manx! That's a shame about your friend, when you emigrate you do lose amazing friendships and have to work darn hard to maintain them, have you thought about writing a snail mail letter to her? Is she worth the fight I guess she must be if you have been friends for 15 years. I hope it's just a passing bump in the road.
Maddy gone missing oh ya we're hearing heaps, to be honest I am in shock the bloody parents left not 1 but 3 children alone in the apartment while they went out and then came back at 9pm to check went back at 10pm and Maddy was gone the twins were left there. My guess is that she isn't dead she is a very pretty little girl one people pay high prices for. I do feel very sorry for her family though despite their stupid actions it is a horrible thing to go through and being angry doesn't bring her back.
Helen Oh yeah I have been and still am at times the dummy they really go through stages of comforting themselves with it, it's so draining (no pun intended) but you do it because you know it's good for her!
Elevit oh I wish they had that here never made me feel sick though! I am stuck with pregnacare wonder if they have elevit here somewhere?
So yesterday DP and I went out for the first time alone without Eliza we both felt like we had lost a limb! I have been out quite a few times without her but was our first together, and it went well he did some grocery shopping for me I am trying to lose weight so he bought all my frozen berries I am maing my own yoghurt and smoothies! And I got my hair cut :D looks noice, got it in a bob!
Beany I can't really invite her or anyone else in as this is my sisters place! And I am kinda nervous about having new people in my own house I mean look how long I knew you before I said come over lol
LM what he said is never worth repeating it was so horrid! forgiven and forgotten now.....Jerk lol
Eliza finally said Lara two days ago which is my sisters name! didn't quite get the Aunty bit going but I was impressed that's 16 words in total she can say! dunno where she learnt to talk so much.

Hi all
I hope everyone's ok. Just checking in really. No time to read up, sorry, hope to catch up later. PC got busted (I accidentally hit the CD drive with my knee when it was sticking out which kinda busted it) so it had to go away and be fixed.
Had a lazy weekend, except for uploading all my holiday photos onto 2 websites - 1st one didn't work, so been doing it all again this am (been up since 3:30 - jetlag still).
Good news is Alex has slept thru the night (7pm-6am) for the last 3 nights :smiliedance: :smiliedance: He can keep that up!! He's also getting a very fast commando crawler.
Jess is great too. Just been checking out getting her into Prep at the state school which is 500 yards away. She won't start til 2009 (arrrrghhh!! I'm an 80s chick, these years are all wrong) but was just checking it out to see if I need to do anything.
Hoping to start back at the gym tomorrow with Bodystep :fingerscrossed:
Must have been the night for it, Gail! Asher (4 days older than Alex) slept from 10pm until 7am!
Oh I'd quite forgotten how wonderful it was to sleep all night long.
The overfull boosies in the morning were a whole different issue

Hi everyone
Busy on here while I was MIA. I was being pampered yesterday so felt it would be abit mean to be popping on here.
I spent the day having some drinks and watching a Catherine Tate dvd. I am not usually into things like that but I think she is hilarious!! One was the Xmas episode and it was a case of jaw ache at the end we laughed so much!
Yes little Maddy? We only heard about it in the last few days. I felt that they were being watched and maybe they ate out like that every night and so the kids were known to be alone. Monitors??? It is so horrendous though and makes my blood run cold. My mum was defending them the other night and told me at home they were getting a lot of critisism. Mum and Dad used to go to parties down the road and keep checking on us every so often but i would always wake and be running down the road age 4 in my nightie...scared to death.!I always knew where they were but also knew they were gone when I used to wake as the house was too quiet.
Beany is Asher better now ? Hope so. I have a case of rockmelons for boobs and a leaky problem again as trying to get her on solids. My supply is all over the shop!
LM am going to try and see things in that "dept" from his point of view. Sometimes i feel we are more like brother and sister than hubbie and wife!:crying:
Manxie have you swapped from the Elevit...it was the iron that was too much for me and the last thing you need is a sore bum when you get a :bfp:!
Hi gail....are you all settling back into the Aussie life again?
Re friends I often feel I do most of the keeping in touch. I have been suprised at who does and who doesnt keep in touch. It`s so easy now too.
I love Skype but webcam on the blink:(

Asher is much much better. He had one horrendous night, one bad night and then was all normal again - got a good immune system, that boy!
He's still a little bit snuffly but back to his normal self, zooming around the apartment like his knees are on fire :D

It's nice when they sleep through the night huh  DD only did that when she was poorly and frankly it was bliss.....is that bad for me to say that :o
Looking at schools already ? Yeh i have to do that, DH nagging me to give the 2 schools we are considering a call and arrange visits.....god it's bad that you have to do this kinda thing 4 or 5 years 'before' they are due to start.
Hi everyone
Mum and Dad used to go to parties down the road and keep checking on us every so often but i would always wake and be running down the road age 4 in my nightie...scared to death.!I always knew where they were but also knew they were gone when I used to wake as the house was too quiet.
LM am going to try and see things in that "dept" from his point of view. Sometimes i feel we are more like brother and sister than hubbie and wife!
Glad to hear you had such a lovely day yesterday.
My parents used to leave me when I was little too, but usually the next door neighbour was told they were going out and I would go there if I had a problem (we lived in an estate full of forces personnel, so very different kinda atmos and security) But saying that I would never leave DD alone in the house till she was at least in her teens if not older......LOL
Re hubby......have you two gone out/dated just the two of you since Milly was born? If not then thats the first thing you need to do, I know it's hard when you are BF'ding but maintaining that 'dating' relationship to me is very important. DH and I had a couple of close friends who would babysit DD when we wanted to go out in UK which was fab, here...... and so I feel like things have gone a little dull. He never was a big romancer but now we can't even get out to the movies together. Gotta work on that and find some reliable babysitters.
Great pic of Milly
So Beany....going to go for another ?
I am so not coping right now, I have decided natural parenting is the worst thing I have done! I am so over getting up 6 times a night to breastfeed or in fact being woken up to feed from lol I want my bed back and my boobs, I would also really like for her to nap in the day time for at least 2 hours not 40 minutes, I would love to go to the toilet on my own not have to go with her then put up with her crying as I have to put her down to pull my pants down, she then claws at my legs like someone seeking mercy.
I dunno she is really draining me she is a great kid happy all the time, but Jesus she thinks she is 3 or something WTH is that about she goes nuts if I don't let her do colouring ya my 13 mth old likes to sit down and draw and if we stop well that appears to be child abuse in her books!
She has gone right off her solids and has lost a kilo she will snack all day but only on fruit and veggies which is fine by me, but forgive me if I don't wash the grapes quick enough!
I tell ya when she finally does get to two years old I am going to be in for one hell of a time :D
ughhhh shoot me

LM I know what you mean about going out etc again. We try and do things here on a sat night even if its dvd and drinks, music on etc but I do get my head up my **** alot as he isn`t really romantic and I get over making the effort. We too have no sitters. He is very very into his power lifting and some days I think he is more in love with himself than me!. Reading training manuals every night in bed doesn`t do it for me. Hate it!So there are a few isues. We do get on and love having Amelia so that`s good but when I think about these other things its abit sad!
Pixie...you seem to be having an off day love! Sorry to hear that. I too am struggling with the whole feeding thing and can see it getting worse unless I try and change the pattern abit, she just aint into her solids!Or bottles ...or dummies..had one but won`t now....she knows where her boobies are thats for sure! I hope you feel better soon.:hugs:
Hi Girls
Wow busy in here today.
Well I'm afraid you girls wernt sending sleeping vibes DD's way she was awake at 4am and ready to go:eek: Crazy baby.
I have been busy packing today and getting organised for the off. I had forgotten how difficult it is to pack with a little helper in tow. As fast as I was putting things into the bag she was pulling them out!
Thanks everyone for your thoughts re my friend, you have given me some good ideas and I think I will ring her when we get back from our trip. I am not going to let the friendship go without a fight.
Pixie - Sorry to hear that you are having a tough time. I must admit that by the time DD self weaned I was really ready for it. Although I still dont feel like I've got my boobs back as she is still into the tweaking
MM- DH and I are guilty of not going out without DD, no sitters here either. Although we did venture out a while back and it was really really nice to be able to sit and eat a meal without having to chase DD around the place. Does he know how you feel about his lack of interest?
Hi Beany & Filmgirlgail & Londonmum:wave:
Right now to get on and email my mum which I have been putting off. She is on the verge of loosing the plot, not suprising really after the year she has had. She hasnt had hardly any sleep now for weeks and this is usually enough to send her off. I need to persuade to take the goddam sleeping pills which she has been prescribed. God I feel so damm useless being here. I must be crazy thinking I can agree not to going back to the UK for years. What was I thinking?
Well off tomorrow so might be out of action for a while, sorry this is a bit all over the place and apologies if I have forgotten anyone.
Be good!
:hugs: Helen I we go through patches like that like ships passing in the night, it's not until one of us usually me who says hey wanna hang out remember me lol I hope you guys get back to normalcy soon.
Well I didn't breastfeed Eliza this morning I woke her up at 7.30am and we did some playing she helped me strip the bed and put clean sheets on then we took the clothes off the dryer she pulls them off and hands them to me, I then gave her breakfast apples and cheese and made her banana smoothies with cows milk and she went to town on that, then we did 45mins of singing and actions and 30 mins of stories and then I thought my boobs might explode and cause injury to someone so I I fed her at 11am she went straight to sleep, I so so wanted to sleep to but had to do a heap of ironing!!
Manxie do you plan on coming back here? Or is your move a permanent one?

Pixie great new avatar! What a poser. Just look at that when you feel fed up. I am trying the same as you with giving her brekki and then no boob til morning tea time and my supply is all over the place and feel back to beginning with leaks etc. Definately a downside to feeding them til late on...the dummying problem. Was feeding her in Gloria Jeans on Fri and it was going everywhere as she kept pulling off to be nosey!
Manxie are you going today then? We will miss you on here!DH does know how I feel but tends to get defensive. As I say its only a problem if I think about it.I always remember when we left uk and I was clearing out...I had some Ann Summers bit...just like sexy all in ones etc..nothing weird and I got rid of them. He never even noticed! One was particularly lovely and i felt ****ed off about that! Then its just hard to turn it on like a tap i find! Probably TMI now!Hope to hear from you soon. When are you back?
How were your nights Nat and Helen? Get any booby respite?
After that one glorious night of sleeping through, Asher was an absolute horror last night ... up until midnight, woke for feeds 5 times. Just waiting for him to have a nap this morning (usually around 11) so I can catch some zzzzzs too.
I always feed him to sleep. It's a habit we've got into and I don't mind usually but last night I was ready to chuck a bottle into his cot and let him cry it out. See, he was sleepy but also bratty so kept biting me. Not hard enough to draw blood or anything but still, hard enough! And he knew what he was doing ... suck suck suck, look up at me, tiny suck, look some more, bite. Little rotter.
Where are you off to, Manx? Back to the UK? I must have missed a post somewhere ...
And as for the other topic of conversation ... it's been so long I think I probably classify as a virgin again  Although that is ENTIRELY my fault - he's up for it (pardon the pun!) but I'm just finding it difficult getting in the mood. After spending all day having someone hanging off me, the last thing I want is more. Also, tiredness. Bed is for sleeping.
I'm sure we could sort it all out once Asher's sleeping is sorted out.
So LM, no, we aren't having another yet! It wasn't on the cards for a while yet, anyway: if we do have another baby, it'll be in 5 years' time. A decent break from the boobs, finish my various bits of studying, a big holiday and then confined to boob-duty and sleeplessness again.
Better go give the little one something to eat. Have a great day, all!

Pixie and MM :hugs:
Sounds like you both have been having a rough time of it. I take it neither of the bubs will take a bottle ?
See now this is another reason I didn't want to breast feed past a certain point and why DH adament we move her out of our room.
But saying that even doing things the way I have, we still have our problems with DD......sigh
Re the swollen breasts, how about expressing to take the 'edge' off, worked for me when I moved DD onto bottles. Just take a little off, not too much else your boobs continue to think there is a big demand for milk.
Pixie - Great Av....very amusing but cute at the same time.
Beany - I know what you mean re being so tired and lacking interest, I am so with you on that. Saying that I'm having to make a real effort as we are TTC and well.....gotta do the deed for that to happen  Anyway, DH knows how I feel and he's very patient and has always wanted to attend to my needs before his own ;) But I can't suggest anything to get you in the mood.....well I could but then I might get my post deleted......Hahahahah
Re Manxie - she's not going back to the UK, well not just yet and if she does it'll be for a holiday and not to go back perm. Right now she is off to Cairns on hols, lucky thing. I think what she was trying to say was that she felt bad about being over here when her mum is fighting Cancer in UK and that she 'should' be over there to help her mum get through it.
It's hard and I don't envy her position, I'm sure if anything happened to my folks I'd feel the same way.
Sorry I wasn't on last night, I got invited to a 'party' (the kind I can't mention on here) last night by an Ex pat (she's in her 60's I think) anyway was a huge laugh and she told me she has 'adopted' me :D She's already intro'd me to a couple of other ex pats (also over 50) but is trying to get me to meet up with a couple mums around my age who live close by to her.
But I can't suggest anything to get you in the mood.....well I could but then I might get my post deleted......Hahahahah
Ooooh you saucy mare!
In regards to baby making sometimes it's not that you're not in the mood, it's weather your child allows you to have the time to act upon it! I must say Eliza must want a sibling lol
In regards to expressing well I don't want to do that as that will keep my supply up so I am doing what I thought I wouldn't do and that's just me doing the weaning, I may change my mind next week but right now I am really feeling the strain of it. And after only 5 feeds yesterday each feed was so much more enjoyable and she didn't fuss or do her gymnastics on the boob as she really wanted it!
LOL Helen about Gloria Jeans Eliza well she use to do that I try not to feed her in public places now as 1 she is so big and nosey and 2 the looks I get!! I think bottle feeding is much more popular here especially after 6 mths!
It's freezing here right now the weather has taken a cold turn but the trees look glorious! I am off to look at a unit on Thursday in Marylebone it's slap bang in the middle of Hyde and Regents park sounds to good to be true!

Re expressing....thats why I said only take a little bit off, enough to make yourself comfortable. It makes your body think the demand has lessened, so over time less milk is produced. It took me a couple weeks of expressing small amounts every 3-4 hrs and after a couple weeks I stopped getting heavy/filled boobs and so I could leave them to dry up on their own.
:fingerscrossed: On the house hunting, hope the place is really nice. Middle of Hyde Park......is going to be pricey but should be well cared for too. You'll be renting yes?

Hi guys...well between us with booby problems, sleeping problems, toddler problems, "that dept"problems...we are a right lot! i can only rule out toddler problems!
Beany 5 yrs would be a good break for your boobies! I read somewhere it takes about that amount of time for them to regain their shape...then you`ll be off again!Time is on your side though seriosly so you have plenty of options:thumbsup:! We sound similar at night. The clinic told me DH would have to keep going in to solve it with my smell of milk but will have to set aside a week to do it sometime.Daunting:eek:
Pixie you must get fed up with the supply problem as I am at 7.5 mths so you are doing so well. iget sick of what to wear and then forgetting pads etc and leaking!! Feels like the early days hey?
On a brighter note it was glorious here today..not too hot, not too cold! Mum and Dad said it had been colder when I spoke to them. My Mum is obsessed with the weather so I get a full run down every time I speak to her:banghead:
Manxie if you get on line ..Hi Hope you arrived safely!
LM your husband sounds a great support to me! TTC yes when tired pretty hard I imagine. I think that is alot of our problem really. I guess the romance is abit dead and so when I`m tired feel unhappy to just get to it as it were! Am sure we will get there and maybe I am coming across bit more reserved with a baby hanging off my boobs:laughing:. not quite the same is it!!
And yes...ditto Beany you saucy mare!!
I had a mini idea last weekend "music on the go" so I bought an Ishuffle and a teeny tiny speak that fits on to it, actually bigger than the ishuffle and now I am downloading a bunch of songs from itunes and when I go out I am going to clip it onto her stroller on the inside so she has music on the go!
I am so nerdy lol
 it's like the return of the 90's boombox ... only smaller!
ya DP was like we'll get her a mini stereo and I said errrr no we won't thank you her shoulders aren't big enough :D

Sounds good to me...never got the whole ipod thingy but in the 80`s you couldn`t get my walkman off me!! Permamnently attached!
My phone is one apparently but not a :geek: anymore so don`t know how to do it!!
:banghead:My clinic nurse was right!! It is impossible for me to settle Amelia now without boobies!! Someone else will have to step in as I really tried last night but just upset the apple cart by trying to soothe her otherwise. She has been awake from 2-3.30am then up at 5am.....and that was it! She also didn`t settle until 10pm.
Boobies win until someone else steps in or she weans off! DD1 has just taken her in her room so I can have a bit of time out.:hugs: for her. She just took one look at me and took her!
DH did volunteer but he had to leave at 5am for work today.
Going to be a zombie day today!
Hope you are all well

I know a couple mums who have Ipods and have set up little speakers on their prams/buggys so they can play music, the term is 'pimping your ride'
MM - :hugs: Hun I feel for you, perhaps the best thing to do would be get your DH to see to her of a night time or get a friend/relative to stay for a week or so to hep out on the weening from boobs or get her to cut down. But I agree with the mad....midwives, she only sees you for your boobs and sees your not giving them to her as some kind of cruel and unusual punishment. We know it's not but bless our bubs they just dont understand
Oh for those of you who are interested.....I have a friend in UK who has put a load of girls clothes up on Ebay, size 6-9 months and some of them are from Next

I would love to as Milly is such a joy but would like at least a 4 yr gap so that would put me preggers at 40ish so see how I feel then. Just love being a Mum to a baby at this age. Despite the nights!
I have done the baby/toddler thing in my 20`s and don`t want to go down that one again at this age. Plus my two have never stopped fighting! Once bitten twice shy and all that.
How is ttc..you havent mentioned it for a while?
Yeah I think I ovulate next week last cycle was 39 days and my first one so really looking for all signs of what's happening! each months makes me sad as it's another month Eliza is older than her future sibling!
Aww Nat, you're so sweet - getting sad because of monthly differences!
Asher's lack of sleeping has been driving me up the wall. He's finally down after over an hour of actively trying. Ooooh what a bad mum I become after an hour! I yell at him - cos you know, screaming mummy is bound to make him all relaxed and close his eyes and go to sleep
Off for a quick look around and then bed for me. Night all :)

Your last post made me laugh, I've had days like that too. I enjoy the time DD goes down for her naps, it means I can get some chores done and then sit down and post on here...it's my chill time. Yesterday I put her down for her nap at 3pm (usual time) and she wanted to go down but then for the next 90 mins she kepts calling out and whinging dispite having about 280 ml milk and her nappy changed :banghead: I gave in and just ignored her as was trying to prep a nice dinner for DH and I as he's been letting me go out in the eves (went to movies by myself last night). Eventually she fell asleep at 16:30 hrs and I had to get her up at 5pm else I'd never get supper in her
MM - Fingers crossed that your DH gets a new job....a well paid one at that.
Pixie - Fingers crossed for you too with your TTC, month 4 for me so holding breath to see if it's worked this time round.

if you OWN a business .. get it listed in the bubhub directory ... then more hubbers will know about it .. simply contact 'bubhub' to ask more ..

GUESS WHAT!!!!
We have an apartment!!! I saw it and well it was totally and utterly perfect in every single way it has a private gardens which we have to pay extra 75 pounds a year but it has a playground in it tres cool and it's only for the residents of that square, it's two bedrooms with a huge amount of storage it's crazy. You're allowed pets and our neighbours have a 6mth old and a 2 year old, below have a 1 year old and next to them they have two older kids they have a stroller area in the front entrance. Um there is two nurseries in the area and they are building a new school. they are going to paint and put new carpets in before we move in and get the curtains professionally cleaned. The lady living there now I met her and she's American her DH is in the Army and now they have to go back to the States she was real nice said she loves it there etc it's HUGE 1095sq we move on July 6th!! Our landlord is a "Lady" as in that's her tittle ohhh lul la lol but real nice people to deal with they said they liked us a lot as people and think we will be good tenants! It's oh so perfect + it's slap bang in the middle of two Royal parks Hyde and Regents! here's a map of our new place!

Pixie - Great news about the flat, sounds fab  and good you have other mums around you so you shouldn't be too lonely and well.......you can always do a babysitting exchange ;)
I've got a friend in Bromley who has just got her visa for Auz :smiliedance: trying to get her to come join me in the Adelaide Hills, she really wants to for obvious reasons namley 'me' (I'm not big headed but you go where your mates are) but her DP is not sure as he has heard how difficult it is to get a job here (old boys network...who you know not what you know). But he's a mechanic and so I'm sure he'll get something without too much grief....fingers crossed she'll be over for christmas this year. Have to say i'm as excited about it as she is.....sad huh.
Beany - what an ace idea, though I guess it depends what part of UK we travel back too but I'd be up for meeting any UK bubhubbers when I go back for a hol.
I have no idea how swanky it is actually it just felt nice Marylebone village is two mins away so all the shops and our biggest sainsburys is Mayfair "well hullo" lol I wish it was sooner but hey the fact they are re-decorating is awesome!
And if any of you come you will so have to visit spesh you Beany :D Eliza needs to see her future husband now and again lol
going to collect our car this morning!

What car is it Pixie? It`s all happening your end!
All good here . DD1 and 2 arguing and we have many taxi journeys to ferry them about all weekend. Now that is a completely different stage to look forward to for you all!
LM not sad i would love one of my mates to come and live near me. Miss them so much!
Beany i was thinking about Asher today when Milly was standing (wobbling) while hanging off my hair. has he done it again?
We are back to booby co sleeping from her wake up time but at least we are sleeping!
We bought a new car back in May it's a Honda Jazz VTI-s because it was so new we shipped it, there is so much to do when importing a car I don't think I would do it again!
Good news for us two of DP's Aussie friends are coming here one he has known since school so 30 odd years and the other is a newish friend they only moved back to Sydney 2 years ago now they are coming back! His wife has 2 kids so good for us!
I finally feel like we've landed I now have to go sit on a bus for 40 0dd minutes with Eliza then get a tram then walk for 10 minute to get the car ohhhhh fun times ahead :banghead:
Oooh Asher and Eliza are betrothed? Goody! Now I can smack him if he looks at any other girls, the little flirt! He's constantly chatting them up! And not one of them has been able to resist him yet. Goodness, I'm really not looking forward to the teenage years ...
Helen: he still stands up using anything to hand but not just up like that time. I think it was a fluke. Actually, I think it had something to do with that overturned xylophone on the floor in front of him ... Either way, can't say I'm sorry he hasn't done it again! Like I said, he sometimes displays a new trick and then forgets all about it for a few weeks/months before surprising me all over again with it.
He's holding onto furniture and pulling himself all around the room now and also walks along beside me if I hold one hand. This only works if he isn't too excited or too tired.
His new trick of the day: licking me. Not biting, not kissing, just coming up to me, grabbing me around the neck and licking my cheek.
My little nutcase

18-05-2007, 21:16
Pixie - good luck on getting the car, hope the journey back is better given you'll be driving your new car
Also glad to hear you have some friends moving back, hope they move close'ish to you so you can meet up lots.
Beany - Asher sounds like he's quite the charactor :D
My DD is quite a flirt as well, but she likes her men much older. Our previous neighbour (we just moved) has 2 boys, the oldest is 11yrs old and DD just loves him to bits, raising up her arms for him to pick her up which she just doesn't do to anyone but DH, myself and one other mum who looks a little like me
As for kisses, she has an 'Alfie' (Vtech bear) which makes this "Mwah" noise when you move his paw to his mouth and then let go (basicly blowing a kiss) and so when she wants a kiss she makes the Mwah noise and if we make the noise too then she stays mouth to lips for ages......I think she likes the vibration that comes from making that noise
I am soooo tired! I hate driving in Croydon ughhh mental people there had to get the bus 50 mins then a tram was fun but the place I got off at well I **** myself lol anyhoo thank lordy for GPS otherwise I probably wouldn't be home yet hehe
Got home and my insurance company rang and said as I had only been a resident of the UK since January they couldn't cover me "HELLO I AM A CITIZEN OF THE UK" they told me this didn't matter I was new to the country I was furious and demanded they ask their supervisor who said oohhh best not eh and I said too bad ask their supervisor who said err she's British and has a UK licence insure her my god I collect the car and they tell me no insurance I was really worried!
I need to sleep I have been so tired the past 2-3 days
Beany Eliza is a big licker too, she um licks my you know what's weird lessy child and is huge on kissing and wants you to kiss everything she picks up anything that is laying around and squeals that you hug it and kiss it lol I love it soooo cute!

I am really looking forward to Amelia getting to the kissy stage. She sometimes grabs my face and sucks it. Melting moments!
Asher used to suck my nose. It was so cute and hilarious but had to come to an abrupt end when he cut his first teeth ...
Talking of which, he cut another (top front) last night. Which was probably why he was up until past 2am ... which is why I am now taking that Zombiefied crown from you ...
He still doesn't kiss kiss, he just has his own version where he places an open mouth to me and blows a little, makes a little "bah" sound. And looks very pleased with himself. Wet and sloppy and lovely :D

Pixie - glad you got your car and insurance sorted, good for you insisting on talking to the supervisor.
Kisses are great I have to agree, DH and I never kissed DD on the mouth when she was very little but since she has discovered kissing, she insists on having mouth kisses and thinks it's a great game to go between DH and I taking it in turns to get kisses.
Oh and when they laugh, real laughing, now that melts my heart
I am real funny about that :o and kissing on the mouth I refuse and she has never tried she always kisses on the cheeks, and I don't allow her or anyone else to kiss her on the mouth I dunno my mother use to do it and still tries it on, it disgusted me and made me feel sick, my lips are for my DH and that's all and that's who Eliza's lips are for her boyfriends one night pashes and all that lol Sorry perhaps a little over the top but my mother is weird and it weirds me out lol
I am knackered, long day have a 1st birthday party tomorrow my brothers ex girlfriend who has since remarried and I am still in contact with they split up 10 maybe more years ago and now she has a little boy 6 weeks younger than Eliza!
fun times hehe
I kiss Asher on the mouth without a second thought. At this age, it's all just affection so I'm not fussed. Heck, I kiss his bum sometimes, too :p As he gets older I will stop.
Wouldn't even think of doing that with someone else's child, though!

I bite Eliza's bum and blow raspberries on it but I am sure I will stop when she's in her 20's :D
Sorry for the ramble just bad personal experience I guess. I know every one is not a freak like my mother :D

I felt all awkward about mouth kissing too as did DH, we felt we didn't want to kiss her on the lips till she was able to choose that it was what she wanted or not. Now that she is the one who leans forward and plants one on us, I don't feel so strange about it and yes there will come a time I wont do it anymore and just go back to kissing her on the cheek.
My own mum never kissed me on the mouth....at least not to my memory, and I have seen parents, aunts and uncles kissing other family (grown up) members on the lips and it doesn't bother me.....but it's not what I have been raised with iykwim.
Hello!
LM when do you test? I am coming up to O so :fingerscrossed:
I am so excited about our new place to the point where I can't sleep I can't stop thinking about how I am going to decorate it, we have to buy all new furniture we're not doing anything to fancy just IKEA or even Argos seeing as how we don't know how long we're staying here I just can't wait! We have decided to put Eliza into her own "BIG BED" and get bed rails she sleeps in ours most of the time so we thought no point buying her a cot we'll just go that route, and a gate on the door so she can't leave in the night! Now to actually get her to sleep in her own bed!
I got sunburnt yesterday! It was so cloudy and humid and the UV must of been high!
Well I have a poo load of things to do so better get on and do them!
xx
Hey Nat, how are you going with the weaning?
ohh Beany must reply to your email lol
Ummmmm hmmmmm weaning MOI
Well we were doing so well and then the weekend came and it went to pot, I even had her down to one day nap for 2 hours I am down to around 4-5 feeds a day now when we're out she feeds even less thank gawd but night time the last 3 nights she has fed 5 times I am sure it's the co-sleeping once we move and I have my "no cry sleep solution" book out of storage I am really going to crack down on weaning and getting her into her own bed, all over time of course don't want to change her world to much.
Gawd Rihanna is on TV she is soooo beautiful makes me hate my fat *** even more lol
Are you planning on weaning Beany?
Not at this stage but he's not into snacking as much as Eliza. He has a feed when he wakes and another before he goes to sleep so that's around 6 feeds during the day. The night times are just all over the place, though.
I think once uni starts up, he'll be forced to partially wean (and I won't be there to tempt him) but like I said, the day feeds are fine so far so I'm not too fussed :)
Hey gals
Do you like my new username? Combination of the kiddies names - how original
I haven't spoken to any of you in AGES
Pixie - how things going over in Blighty? We miss you heaps.
Beany - I think a rendevous at Lindt is well overdue!?
All going good here although poor little J is still very little - he's just over 4 months ( can you believe it) but only 5.4kg :( I think I am going to have to start doing a few formula feeds a day, but I am desperately trying to beef him up without bottles.
as for Ems, well she is soooo grown up nowadays - she is talking loads and even answering back....cheeky monkey!
Cxxx
Hi Claire!
Ooooh Lindt ... Yeah okay! (though I've only just managed to squeeze my bum back into my pre-preg jeans! It really was 9 months on, 9 months off for me!). ink we can entice some of the other UKer's down from the various bits of the country for it?
Come down for a weekend, guys! You too, Nat!
You know what Claire I looked you up today and saw you're new username and meant to PM you but have gotten really side tracked bloody storage people here are wanting to charge me 365 pounds to deliver my household goods despite it all being paid for in my contract farkers grrrr Things are good here Found a place in Marylebone etc will Email you and Beany later Eliza is pole dancing on my sisters lamp  She keeps doing this it freaks me out she looks like a go go dancer, and she has started doing all these flirtatious poses but only to BIL hehe
Chocolate whoooo ya I am there hehe I remember that Em was widdle in her stroller Eliza was managable with one arm and Beany was pregnant My gawd where has the time gone!
Congrats in getting into your pre preggy clothes Beany

Beany - Remind me where you are? Could be up for that trip depending on where you are and when DH is down you way next (he works interstate on/off)
Pixie - Passed the 'O' and due to test on my 10th wedding aniv.....so a week on wednesday (30th). If I am....and I have a feeling I am, then I'll be happy but it's pretty poor timing as I'd be due 24th Jan and I wanted to go back to UK on trip end of Jan....wonder if I could convince Doc to induce me early  Ah but then theres the trouble of getting the passport/visa's ect :( Also bad timeing case DD's b-day is beginning Feb.......Oh well, these things are sent to try us :D
Good luck to those of you trying to ween, hope things get better including the nights sleeping. DD still wakes us anything from 2-6 times a night, not for anything in particular, she just crys out in the night and after a couple mins she settles herself again.

Nat...well you know she gets it from her dancing mama:laughing:
Hi Claire:wave:. I have been here a little while now.
Lindt...enlighten me:confused:
Nat: pole dancing? This sauciness is all around, isn't it?
LM: I'm smack bang in the middle of Sydney. I live in the CBD - right near the Lindt cafe :D So yes, whenever your husband makes the trip down, do hitch a ride with him!
Helen: the Lindt cafe is just what you'd expect - chocolate heaven! You should hitch a ride with someone, too!
Come on over, ladies - it's well worth it!

oooowwwww errrrrr....it's gone all quiet on here again :(
What are you all getting up to ?
I've just not long come back from Kindergym and put DD to sleep, got some shopping to do this afternoon so may go get lunch out first.
DH away till friday so on my own in the eves
It has been rather quiet, hasn't it? Nat's off decorating and Helen's probably trying to fight Milly from her boob
(I laugh in sympathy - really! Been there, know the pain!)
Not much going on here. Asher's still not sleeping well which means I'm sleeping atrociously. He's seems close to walking ... climbs up furniture and walks around the apartment holding onto bits and pieces. Last night, he took his hands off and stood by my chair for a fair while and then took a step to grab the desk. I do think it's a fluke. He hasn't stood up unaided again yet so I should be safe for a little while longer :fingerscrossed:
We're going off to meet a couple of fellow UKers in a couple of hours. Met them on bubhub but I don't think they come on here anymore ... will have to nag them back onto here when I see them!
Anyway, better go pack the kitchen sink into the nappy bag (!) in preparation for our afternoon excursion! Hope you're all well!

Hey all
Havent been on here for a bit...been a bit busy tryna earn spondoolies......... Will try and get on for a goss more often.
Ruby is a now a fully fledged toddler! Mouth full of teeth & loving life! So, I only get a couple of hours off during the day when shes asleep - like now!
Been a bit homesick of late :gloomy: really cant imagine NEVER living in the UK again.....DP is just not interested, holidays only.......which we cant afford anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bugger!
I am here been out a fair bit it's about 24C here lovely mine and Eliza's hair as gone really blonde! and we're both olived skinned so despite having sun cream on we have both also gone golden brown!
Oh who did ya mean Beany? Tell me, anyone I know?
Beany you are so in trouble he'll be off soon enough hehe
RR welcome back! Yay for toddling! how many teeth now? Eliza still only has 2 at the bottom and 4 up top and two more cutting, she's like a rabbit lol Never say never, I never ever wanted to come back here it took 5 years for DP to convince me and once I was a citizen and had Eliza I thought about it and agreed now I am back I am actually happy, happy because if yo don't take risks you just never know right now it's paying off thankfully!
Oh and I found Vegemite at Sainsuburys :D

Beany - I agree with Pixie, he'll be up and about in no time.......be afraid be very afraid....Mwahahahah :devil6:
Hope you have had a nice day with the other Brits.
RR - Welcome back, I know what you mean about time. DD is sleeping now and chores are done so I am online ;)
DD has all her teeth now bar the 4 main molers....and she's only 15 months....eek
I miss the UK but more because I have so many friends and family there. Have discussed with my parents about their emigrating earlier then the planned 5 yrs, apparently my dad had already mentioned it to my mum and she had some concerns which I have addressed and so they are going to look into coming over in 2 years....fingers crossed.
Pixie - Funny how the sun can completly change how you look, so when do we get to see a pic of the blond/tanned you :D
I thought you knew you could get Vegemit in Sainsbury, else I'd have said to look there cause DH used to get some from time to time.
We're back from our little outing :D The world seems so much nicer after an iced chocolate!
No one you know, Nat: you left the country just as I met them. I have told them to get back on here and they both agreed: shazb and littleyorkshirepudding - step up! And RRL - where have you been? My phone went kaput and I lost all my contacts so I couldn't send you details of the meet ...
There's another tentatively planned for next week - wanna come? Alex will be there to keep Ruby company!
And I sympathise. I don't feel happy with the idea of living here forever but my husband doesn't seem to keen on moving. Silly men.
Hello Everyone,
met Beany today and she told me how nice you all are so I have raced home from work (I work as a nanny to a cute little chap) to say hello and hope that I can join in with the chats.
I am not a mummy yet but hope to be one day, (have been TTC for 8 years and have one try at IVF which sadly ended at 6 weeks) but have been working with children of all ages and in different settings for nearly 20 years as a nursery nurse.
Came to Sydney in Jan this year so its all very new still.
Thats enough about me.
hope you have all had a good day.
Sharon xx
Welcome Sharon :) look after Beany for me :D wow long journey you have had I hope you get a baby soon.
I came to show off my lil pole dancer in her summer dress!!
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a285/Bosister/Summerdress.jpg
So hot here already!
Oh and guess what I got back pay from when Eliza was born in Child benefit at 18.45 pounds a week!
What a cutie!!
Have been feeling a bit homesick since my parents went home on friday but just had a really long chat to them and feel ok now.
Thank goodness for skype and webcams!!
I really miss shopping at next, have they got loads of nice things in now, might even order online and get my mum to post them to me !!
Sharon are you going to do IVF again? NEXT I went in there yesteday they have some really nice stuff I like some shorts the have but can't bring myself to spend the 27pounds! I think that is expensive hehe I am still living in $$
We are hoping to have another go towards the end of the year,it will be then 2 years since our last go, it took it out of me alot, I dont know how couples go on and on one after the other, and the other aspect is the money, we paid nearly 4000 pounds for our attempt in the uk. Not really sure how the system works over here but even if we pay for the whole lot it will be cheaper than uk.
I also live in hope or laa laa land that it may happen naturally, but after 8 years I should accept that it wont, but theres always that niggle in your mind ---maybe this month !!
Well you never know do you, you hear stories of people who are like yourself and then give up and ta da, I am sure it's on their mind though. I think IVF is a lot easier in Australia than here. They are changing the rules here as well I saw a few mins of a doco here few weeks back, going to make it a lot harder.
I really feel for you. I can't imagine the dissapointment :( :hugs:
I am going to make some enquiries in to where, how much etc.......and hopefully we will make our minds up whether to try again, its a dream I am not ready to let go of yet, but maybe a win on the lotto would help!!!
Spent 3 1/2 hours in casualty last night with hubby and a badly cut finger, he had 7 stitches in the end, so I am bushed, its bath and bed for me.
Have a good day.
Thanks for the chat

Pixie - I liked the pick of of your 'pole dancer', looks like shes ready to strut her stuff
Your Av is cute too.
MM - Oh dear, I agree it must be a growth spurt, interesting comment from Pixie about ovulating though.....I'll have to bare that in mind for no:2.
shazb - Welcome  Only been Aus side since Nov 06 myself.
Sorry to hear it's taken you so long TTC, A lady I worked for tried for over 9 years and also tried IVF. Then she met a Tibetan lady who said to her, what she needed to do was rub her belly and keep saying to herself that a baby would grow in there. A few months later she concieved her 1st child, a couple years later she had no.2. I have another friend in her early 40's, just recently got married but was concerned about conceiving and so started trying pre wedding. Anyway she goes to these 'Paranormal Tours' (basicly where you get a group of people go to a hunted building and stay up all night trying to catch site of a 'spirit' ) and she was 'randomly' approched by a medium, who gives her a 'carnelian stone'........ two weeks later she did a test and found out she was pg. Could just be a co-incidence but she has since gone out and brought one of these stones for a friend of hers who has been TTC for a while, I'll let you know if anything comes of it.
Skype is great isn't it, our camera wasn't working this weekend for some reason so my parents couldn't see DD. So gotta get that fixed before they call again this weeknd.

DH home tonight :smiliedance: and I get to have a lay in tomorrow. Really didn't want to get out of bed this morning, was so lovely and warm and snuggled up with cat curled into me.
DH has been good though, he has been to the UK store to get me some goodies and even went to Victoria market to pick me up my brattys
Well this month is a bust for me, AF turned up today  Ah well, on the positive side it means we should be able (money allowing) to go to UK on hols early next year and celebrate DD's 2nd B-day with family and friends given they missed out this year on her 1st.

Do you like Tennis and will you be going to Wimbledon now you are so near?
Bit of a fan myself and Mum and Dad often go as he runs the village tennis club so they get tickets easier. Great day even if you don`t like tennis.

Cest la Vie, it's not like I've been trying for years and it'll happen in it's own good time. I'm looking at it positivly.....it means my trip to UK is on, even DH said as much
He brought me back more treats then I asked for...2 packets of Jammy Dodgers, 2 packets McVities dark choc digestives, several packets of Polos even though I only asked for 1........hmmmmm what to ask for on his next trip to Melbourne :D
Pixie - It does get hot in UK doesn't it, unfortunatly unlike here it's very humid and I think thats what makes it worse and even 'oppressive' so I feel for you and don't blame you for taking 2 showers a day.
Good luck for your try, I'll keep my fingers cossed for you....only my fingers mind you :p
MM - I love Fridays, I drop DD off to Daycare so don't have to worry about keeping her entertained and I go to work which allows me to keep my hand in the job and gives me interaction with a variety of people. Then I get home and sort dinner out for DD and then DH gets home and gives her a bath and puts her to bed and I can start to chill. Right now he's on his work lap top and I'm on mine.....sociable arn't we
So how are all you ladies ? How's the Co-sleeping going Beany + MM ?

He wants to move here but Mum doesnt
LM i will get you to come to the Hunter in Jan-Feb! So humid.....no makeup or hairdo possible...just sit there and the sweat rolls off! Lovely! Not!! New yrs day 2006 was a record 47c. Milly was concieved that day. TMI maybe!. Co sleeping is getting abit better. DH now gets up to get her at least and funny now he does I don`t hear her til she is next to me. MM - Glad to hear co-sleeping has gotten better and also that your DH is being more active in helping you with it all.
As for coming over in Feb......sounds great :p Honestly though I hate high humidity and how you managed to concive in all that heat....well it's beyond me  We went to Cairns just as the 'silly' season was starting, temps were in the high 30's and up to 40........I loved it :D It was hot but 'dry' not humid at all. It was one of the things that so enticed me to come to Aus.
My night is quiet, sitting on sofa with DH. He's watching TV and I'm on here  and both having a couple of McVities choc digestives with a cup of tea......bliss.
Oh I remember New Years day a couple of years ago ... 42'C. I was pregnant and was doing the morning sickness thing at the time, too. Oh it was awful ... and that's coming from someone who sat indoors with the air conditioning on all day!
Yeah, Sydney is sweat central in the summertime.
Asher only woke once last night at 4:30am for a feed and went straight off to sleep again. I felt remarkably good this morning! That went out the window with his clinginess, though ... he's been holding on to the back of my pants all day and chewing on them where possible. Not a good look!
He just went to sleep now and I'm hoping for a repeat performance of good sleeping but not expecting it. He seems to have one good night, 3 weeks of bad ones ...
We don't co-sleep though, not for anything more than the very last feed before getting up. It's just a hope beyond hope that he may fall asleep and I get to sleep in a bit longer, too. Works once in a blue moon :D
Helen: I've been making Noodle get up and get him for me during the night for nearly the whole time. In the beginning, it was too painful for me to do so what with the episiotomy stitches and all so he'll get up and change him and hand him over for the feed. In the middle, I started to do it but realised that Asher went absolutely mental if he saw me and I wasn't feeding him instantly so we went back to Noodle getting up. It also makes me feel less resentful :o I know he's doing as much as he can during the night.

I feel alot better with DH doing that and I think he feels less guilt too.
If you have more would you bfeed again? I think I would but try and make the baby less reliant but then it has just crept up on me really!DD1 was Bfed til 8 mth but none of this dummying business and DD1 til 2 mth. They are all soooo different.
Lm get the wine out and start practicing again!:yelclap:
Hey LM: whereabouts where you again? Adelaide? Have you looked in the Coles and Woolies up your way for chocolate digestives?
I've fallen off the wagon with my Cherry Coke addiction. I had it curbed (mostly because they don't have it here) and then I discovered that Treats From Home import it ... it takes every ounce of strength I have to not just empty their fridge of the stuff and drink it all on the way home. After which I'd probably buzz around like a hummingbird for a week :D
Helen: I think I went about everything the "wrong" way this time. I would definitely breastfeed again but would build sleep associations with something other than the breast. I feed him to sleep each and every time and, while I don't mind usually, it would be nice if he just went to bed, rolled over and went to sleep by himself.
I would also have weaned him off wrapping earlier ... he's 9 months old and I still wrap him. He get out of it within a minute of being in the cot but I'm afraid that if I don't wrap him up first (loosely), he won't sleep. I really need to wean him off that soon. It's getting cold and I want to put him to bed in one of those sleeping bag thingies.
Coulda shoulda woulda ...

We get digestives here but if I buy them...gone in a day!!
I miss the aisles of biccies at home and the choccie ones indiv wrapped eg breakaway, taxi, well by the time i left the options were endless!
When I first got here I was saying to DH.."what the hell am I gonna out in the packed lunch as a biscuit!"
As for crisps well don`t get me started. i would love a packet of Walkers Cheese and Onion!
Hmm next time around I think will have to be different as then there will be 2 of them and I won't be able to dedicate as much of my time to the newbie (sorry newbie) but I still intend to co-sleep and BF when we move Eliza is getting her own room and big bed so :fingerscrossed: after a few months she'll be in there I don't care if I BF her to sleep in her bed as long as she's there!
Helen OMG you shagged on a hot day they do say girl semen are hot OK way TMI but I have to say this lol
If your husbands testicale (little britain) are hot then you will have a girl if they are cool then you'll have a boy :D
We had the fan on last night and this morning hehe haw haw:o
It has cooled down a bit here we went to the park and Eliza get this walked 2kms on her own and then helped me lift the stroller up the steps into the house and put it away for me lol she is mega good. I love her!
Nat: just strap an ice pack to him :D

Ah heck....looks like I looged out a little too early last night and missed out on all the fun :D
MM - DH didn't want me to breast feed at first as he felt it would mean he couldn't bond with DD. Nearer the time of birth he agreed BF was best and that he would get up and change her nappy every feed he could (mostly night time) and pass her to me, then make sure I had fluids and snack (snack in day times). I really appriciated that, though I don't think it will work so much when no 2 comes around given his trips interstate.
Not sure if I will BF again, had so many problems and concerns which resulted in DD having loads of tests.....Failure to thrive they call it. But DH wants me to BF no 2, the only good thing over here is the BF support network and BF councillors there are here, not so wide spread in UK.
Beany - Not seen any McVities biccys in Coles or Wollies and a friend here loves McVities from when they were available many years ago (apparently) but she can't get them anymore so it didn't occur to me to look more intently.
Cherry coke huh :D I had a phase of likeing that, but now I don't drink any fizzy drinks.
Re sleeping bags, try putting him in one and then just wrapping his arms, we did that with DD from about 6 months as she kept Hudini'ing her arms out of the wrapping. Pretty soon we didn't need to even wrap her arms
Ok now on the whole hot/cold testicles.....interesting theroy but not sure it's anything more then a wives tale......afterall if it were true then surely there would be a lot more male children born in the UK
Got a load of friends round today so not going to be back till later on this eve, have a great day everyone.
Ok now on the whole hot/cold testicles.....interesting theroy but not sure it's anything more then a wives tale......afterall if it were true then surely there would be a lot more male children born in the UK
Oh I don't know, there's decent central heating there ...
We'd know for sure if someone conceived while boinking in a sauna and then in an igloo. Off you go you TTCers in here! Test out this theory!
Oh and thanks for the tip regarding wrapped arms and sleeping bags. I was thinking of doing that but thought it might be a bit of overkill. Although, really, overkill be damned if it means he'll sleep!
And don't let bad breastfeeding experiences the first time around be the deciding factor for the second baby. Your boobs would likely have sorted their game out by then and you'll most likely have a fantastic breastfeeding relationship. And if your husband wants in on the bonding side of things, you could express some milk so that he can give it to the baby with a bottle - excellent excuse for you to sleep through the nights he is home :D

No worries re wrapping tip, see your first instinct was a good one.
As for BF, I haven't completly rulled it out, just not sure if I want to go through the stress of it again. Saying that, had the midwives left me alone I think we'd have been fine cause she never lost her birth weight which just shows she was feeding well, but by the time the midwives had finished telling me 3 different ways that i should be feeding her (Dh fully going for what they said when my instinct was just to continue with what I was doing) she had gone from 50th centile to 2nd by 8 weeks. We tried her on formula but we were lucky if she took 60 ml's every 4 hours, so hosp put her on a high energy formula so she didn't have to have as much quantity but still have same/more of what was needed for her to grow.....that said we still had to force feed her milk. To be honest things didn't really improve till we got here, now she will drink 3-4 bottles of milk a day (260 ml) + eat 3 meals and have a couple of snacks in day
Wow didn't I just waffle on a bit there...sorry
LM how often does DH go away ? How do you find it? Just asking as my DH looking at FIFO positions in Perth mining.
He travels interstate 4 days a week once or twice a month. At the mo he is the only trainer (one just left) so he may have to go every other week soon. I thought it would be hard, esp for DD as she's a daddies girl. But he goes off to work in the morning (which she is used to) and just doesn't come home (travels from work), DD was clingy at first but she has gotten used to it now and so it's been ok. The hardest thing for me is making sure I eat a proper meal cause somedays I can't be bothered and others DD wont let me stay in kitchen long enough to make myself anything
Some days it's easier without DH cause I make all the decisions re DD and it's not nearly so messy about the house as it would be with him home,....LOL
Thanks for the offer to advise/support be if I BF, see what happens nearer the time.
Yay for Milly, shuffling already....watch out Helen as nothings safe now.
Heloooooo
I have had a wonderful arvo, saw an osteo who has two children and both home-births and she was so positive and all that about my next baby and then she said "something is up with your uterus" and said it's swollen" "when are you having another baby?" I was so :o and told her more :o as she has also been seeing my DP for 4 weeks treating his shoulder! she said "well could be that, or could be a build up to your periods" either way I was chuffed lol and my back feels heaps better too:D
LM I have to say I am a ickle bit of a BF nazi lol can't believe I am saying that publicly hehe but I have to say I have had a easy run of it, I have had my fair share of blocked ducts and blisters on the olde nurples but all in all it's been great I am still feeding Eliza up to 8 times in 24 hours, I am a huge believer in "what happened last time, probably won't happen this time" I try to stay really positive and not saying "well this happened last time" I am saying this as I am planning a home-birth for my next child and when I had Eliza things were not good, not sure if I have said here on the UK thread but my birth story is here under "Birth stories" funnily enough lol but it was an emergency c/section and I nearly died. And now I am extremely positive towards having a completely natural childbirth at home despite my shocking ordeal before!
And you think you ramble on LOL
Helen yay Milly! wow few more weeks and she'll be going forwards!
I still have a freaking headache and zero appetite not like me I love my food

We get digestives here but if I buy them...gone in a day!!
I miss the aisles of biccies at home and the choccie ones indiv wrapped eg breakaway, taxi, well by the time i left the options were endless!
When I first got here I was saying to DH.."what the hell am I gonna out in the packed lunch as a biscuit!"
As for crisps well don`t get me started. i would love a packet of Walkers Cheese and Onion!
Oh I'm glad it's not just me  Actually I think there is one digestive left in Thursday's packet!
And where are Lime Dippas over here???
Oh and thanks for the tip regarding wrapped arms and sleeping bags. I was thinking of doing that but thought it might be a bit of overkill. Although, really, overkill be damned if it means he'll sleep!
And don't let bad breastfeeding experiences the first time around be the deciding factor for the second baby. Your boobs would likely have sorted their game out by then and you'll most likely have a fantastic breastfeeding relationship. And if your husband wants in on the bonding side of things, you could express some milk so that he can give it to the baby with a bottle - excellent excuse for you to sleep through the nights he is home
I never wrapped my two, just put them under sheets and blankets then sleeping bags (I love them!!!)
Glad to hear you had such support. Unfortunately we couldn't get the hang of bf with DD or DS. LM - DD also lost too much weight (failure to thrive) in teh first 10 days so put her onto formula. They think she was a bit tongue tied so couldn't get enough grip IYKWIM. DS would either latch on and not suck, couldn't get latched on or else would fall asleep in first 2 mins. Also no-one told me that the painkillers I was on after c-s were counter productive to milk production - only found out after I went to the bf consultant! Anyway, I managed to pump for both of them for about 3 months so they had that and formula and they're both healthy.
Hope all is well with everyone. Good luck to those TTC. I, on the other hand, have an appt with my OB on Thursday to discuss permanent contraception.
Alex is now mostly going thru the night. Goes down about 6ish and up about 6ish. HOwever he's teething at the moment and his nose is a volcano so wakes up with that and coughing at the moment.
Look at the time and I've already had breakfast, put the first load on and just off to watch the new series of New Tricks my sister just sent from the UK with a cuppa. For some reason DD isn't awake yet - very unusual. ALex is on his way to find me as I can hear him slapping the tiles.
Have a great day everyone
Hi Everyone, hope you all had a good weekend.
Beany-- do you want to meet this week, I cant do thursday but other than that am flexible, also am happy to change venue.
Pixie -- hope you have a good bank holiday tomorrow.

Have a good day will try and get on again later.
Got to get ready for work now.
Sharon xx
Shaz: I'm good for tomorrow or is that too short notice? I have to enrol on Wednesday. Friday afternoon is good too. Will Karen be able to make it to any of these? How about you, Jo?
I'm happy with the Darling Harbour sand pit if you are!

It's a lovely day here today - warm and sunny. Unfortunately, I'm stuck indoors waiting for a plumber. Boooo!

When I next come down I will be letting you know.
My brother is here in Sept so definately be down then to see him.
I love the City but work for DH not down there:crying:
What does your husband do?
We have the opposite thing happening here - Noodle LOVES the countryside but there's no work for him there (he's a network administrator). Works okay for me as I'm a city girl :D
Depending on which way I go with the rest of this uni thing, I'll either be able to get a job anywhere (high school teacher) or only in the metropolitan areas (academic).

He is a Hydraulic Engineer and so work is good up here with all the mines and mining companies!
Bit similar to life when we were in Yorkshire really..."down Pit"
We have been here 2.5yrs and have been on about 10 weekend breaks in Sydney! DH is over it but I luuurve it.
You sound like you are on the right track..high school, you are one brave lady:thumbsup:
Oh if I go the high school route, I'm going back to the UK and working in a sixth form college! At least the kids at that stage are there because they want to be there. Don't think I could handle working day in day out with a bunch of snotty nosed teenagers that are hormonal and think they are above it all.

filmgirlgail - Your right, not everyone can BF and sometimes I think there is too much pressure to do so. Most of us were bottle fed and theres nothing (much) wrong with us, so mums should be allowed to choose without fear of being stigmatised as a BF failure or bad mum for picking the bottle.
I tried expressing, but I was lucky to get 1 or 2 oz (total from both breasts), that is untill I chose to stop BF and then I was getting more but by that time DD was on the High energy formula.
Working my way very quickly through the first packet of choc digestives best slow down or undo the small amount I have managed in the gym
shazb - I live in the Adelaide hills, I came to Aus for a better quality of life. We came over on a couple of trips to look about and 'fact find' to see where we would like to live....hence Adelaide and because we were planning a family and wanted to ensure our child/ren had the best chances in life ie outdoor activities, education ect. But I had my DD in the uk, I hadn't found this forum then and so wanted to have the support of friends and family about me.
Been finding it good, it was hard for DH for first few months as he had trouble getting a job (old boys network, ie not what you know but who) so we ate into our savings a bit but now things are going well and we are pretty well settled. Just got to get some land and have our dream home built
Beany - Good luck on the teacher training, can you take Auz teacher training to UK without doing any adaptions?
I know some Aus nurses can't work as Qualified nurse in UK but UK nurses can come here without additional training.
Busy week for me....Tomorrow is Kindergym and going to accountant re taxes (very confusing, didn't have to do this in UK and so trying to get me head round it here), Wednesday I am touring Seymore college followed by having lunch and portrate photos done by an Adelaidian mum, Thursday got a tour of Scotch College then afternoon with another mum, friday I'm working......phew, that'll be my day of rest  Oh and this doesn't include my trips to gym (at least twice), staff meeting and going to a 'Pink' Concert.......spose I should try fitting cleaning house in there someplace too
Look it's just not fair all this chatter about meeting up lol
Choc digestives I was always buying them from Coles they not there any more?
Weather has taken a wet turn now for the long weekend

Milly has just gone to sleep.:fingerscrossed: for longer than two hrs. She was so cute tonight feeding that I felt glad I was still doing it...don`t ask at early hrs of morning!
Well I have no idea what's happening lol so we have to take each day and see. I guess my cycles are regulating and all that, I have had this blinding headache for 3 days now :( I hope we fall soon I really want another one so badly, almost like the urge you had before you ever had children I see pregnant women and feel upset for myself and wonder when it will be me ETC hello emotional one lol
Yay :fingerscrossed: for 3 hours lol Eliza went to sleep at 5.30pm the other day slept until 9pm had a 10 min feed, and then slept until 1am and then until 7.30am WTH huge sleepies!
I know I still love BF at nearly 14 months although some days I want my boobs back! I love the first morning feed the most she stays still and gazes at as she is still sleepy!

Yay moving in soon, bet your really looking forward to it, you certainly seem excited about it.
Oh dear.....Pixie, you gone and done it now, suggesting a lap top :D Personally I think it's a great idea, only way DH and I would survive without throttling each other for comp time
I'm afraid if I'm reading something I really don't pay any attention to what is being said to me, but then DH is usually talking about work so thats ok

Pixie - Ewww...that is disgusting esp with a small child around, did you say anything to them ? I would have.....but then I have a tendancy to be blunt
I'd go to Bluewater just for the day out, doesn't meen you have to go around with them, just say you have some bits you want to do and you'll meet up with them later.
Been pee'ing down bucket loads here today, high winds too. Still went out in it all and DD wore her lovely coat I got from Wollies in the UK (Ladybird), it's for 12-18 months but it's still way too big for her at 15 months  Still it'll do for our trip to UK in feb.
Gotta dash DD just woken up and crying...bbl
