View Full Version : Ive just fallen in love with BPs
Im new the modern cloth phenomenon, and I have a confession - I thought you were all nutters for going on about these "berry plush" wonder nappies. I couldnt believe they would live up to the hype when i bought one, but after using it for the first time today I have to admit i am a convert. I kept lifting DDs dress and inviting strangers to feel her bottom!
I couldnt stop stroking it, it was almost as good as naked bum.
Seemed almost irrelevant that it worked really well as a nappy too!

:smiliedance:I know what you mean! BP's are lovely, I sold one a while back and it still makes me sad :p
People who see me change DS into one always express delight in my "baby pants"- Er, hello! It's a nappy! "What?" A nappy. "What, one you throw out????" No, one you wash. "Oh? Really? Wow! I wish I had some" Ok, got some paper? I'll give you a website....
We have 4 BP's, including one older style (yet still in excellent condition) Purple one with a matching purple minkee insert ;) I think I'll have to keep it for the grandkids (if it lasts thru the 3 more kids we plan!)...
A sign of how tired I am - after reading this thread I have just gone and ordered a BP for DS! Talk about easily influenced!! I even paid for express post so that it arrives before we move out! Hmmm....should get some sleep - or hide the credit card - or both!! (I went for the dalmatian spots - too cute to resist!)

hannah has it on now actually, i ran out of sposies (i dont have any night nappies yet) so i put a cushie tushies on her with a BP including the BP insert, cause i know the CT is going to leak through :fingerscrossed: it works
but i have soakers and night nappies on the way so i dont have to waste a BP by putting it on her where no-one will see

*shakes fist* Oh, you awful, awful person!
Rubbing the nappy I sold you in my face :p See, the annoying thing is that I tried it as a cover- no way- but with an insert it is lovely!! Makes more sense to me to use it as an AIO... Mediums as an AIO= perfect for Nixi, Large with an AIO= Slightly too big :D

So that makes 1 Purple 1 Black 1 Lavender Fields 1 Baby Blue & 1 Ocean
Hmmm but no embroidered ones... I see one on Buyforbaby.....;)
SorenLorensen
02-05-2007, 22:35
yay for your ocean :smiliedance:
i have one embroidered one (betterfly) TBH i dont really like it, i find because of the butterfly it takes a while to dry. so i avoid using it so i dont have to wash it.
mind you i would buy another one in a flash:laughing:
Phoenix's Mum
02-05-2007, 22:38
Inform me, Flick....
How does the embroidery slow drying time?? Confused
My BP's come out practically dry, give them 5 mins on the line and bingo, dry! (Not the inserts tho )
SorenLorensen
02-05-2007, 22:40
no the cover drys but the embroidery on mine holds onto the water for a while
oh i should add, i found this out by giving it a quick dry and putting it on dd, she sat on our lounge and when she got up there was a perfect butterfly :)

Hmmm.... Now I have 2 Minkee Bubblebubs coming, I wonder if I could possibly love them more than BP's?.................NAH!!!!!!!!!!! Never :p Oh maybe, who knows... We'll see...
I suggest a hand wrestle for you two to battle it out for the BP on Buyforbaby. I'm out- DP cracks it about my pink nappies, I think he'd be very cranky if I bought a Pink Horse one!

Just tell him you're stocking up for #2 ahead of time.. anyway, who says a boy can't wear something with unicorns on it  so what if he gets a complex. hehe
I was thinking more along the lines of paper-scissors-rock.. online style! However that would work.
Angelmist - are you good for it ? :p
lol, i seem to have started a campaign to convince myself to buy more BPs...

they are smalled sized. the smalls dont last vey long at all.
Ds wouldnt have fit into one, he just fits in a large now!
haha
but he fits a medium very well.

Noah is getting a bit to big for his Large ones, but Lachlan still has A LOT of room, in fact Lachy still fits in the Med - just. So I may have a med ocean for sale soon. Or maybe I should hold onto it for my latest niece or nephew to be? :detective:

Hmm are they really that small? the web site says small is for
Small fits babies from approximately 3.2 - 8.2kg I thought that would be good for 5 or so months from birth? I wanted a show off nappy! Having said that DS was only 2.9kg at birth and I am assuming (or really actually hoping) that DD will be the same!
I just got my DS's Black BP in large as part of the Nurture nappy stash package, but it has no inserts only the cover. I was going to order 2 inserts, but by the sounds of things 1 will be enough, thanks girls! I am still waiting to try it, I will tomorrow, it feels sooo nice!
my son is 8 weeks old, just over 5kg and he is in small BPs. he still has two snap sizes to go so should be fine for a couple more months then put them away for #2
LOVE BERRY PLUSH :D
i have 2 more on layby one the new Everglades colour is looks so nice and the Leopard at nurture nappies too
you just got me in trouble! i had to pre-order an Everglades too hehe:) lucky DH loves them too. i ordered a medium so should be able to use for a while.
i have: ocean, firestorm, sky blue and mother earth (my fave)
on order: jaguar and everglades...
I have ordered a Rainforest BP from Darlings Downunder ... can't wait to get it now .... and I really can't wait til I have a bub to try it on
oh man I ordered my first BP last week and now you guys are making me so excited, I can't wait.....where is my fluffy mail? lol....

When you do a pre-order do they (nurture) take from your cc straight away or only when stock arrives?

:D I love my BP (singular - I've only got one atm  !!) so much that when I find out the gender of my next born, I am ordering a small shipment!!! (okay, slight exaggeration!!)
m_jelly, I'm not sure if Nurture Nappies take your money out on CC or not straight away. I have another BP on order at the moment and layby'ed it (since it was going to take a while to come into stock anyway...)
ok ta. I just object to paying for something which doesnt exist. (i know they exist, but YKWIM...)

haha
sorry
but im sure you'll love it
the colour look soooo nice
i think you'll like it too Raven Dancer its green!
Thank you for this thread - my dalmatian spot BP arrived today, was promptly put on my baby and he was then carried around the neighbourhood so that I could invite everyone to feel his butt! How gorgeous are they? Even DH, who is normally a bit grumbly about MCN, couldn't find fault with it!! DS wore it for a few hours before christening it with a nice runny breastfed poo - but the nappy held up nicely!
So thanks!! I may have to get some more....even though on paper we don't NEED more nappies.......
