Hi Girls,

I just moved to Sydney, NYE being my first night here. I moved from Newcastle though orginally from Melbourne so Sydney is alot faster paced then both those places put together.

Just wanting to know if there are any mums in my area to meet etc????:)

Hi Elle,

Just moved to Point Piper...

I'm already disliking parts of Sydney and haven't been here a week yet..abit depressing for me at the moment..I really hate sydney drivers, nearly been wiped out by 3 silver service taxis whilst driving and nearly run over while crossing the road..sighs...
Everyone is just in a rush to get somewhere which im really not use to and whats the go with all these one way roads....AHHHH there driving me nuts...

Apart from these things Everything is going ok, well as good as any move can move can go.

Just have to adjust accordingly...

yeah, sydney drivers are apparently the worse in the whole of australia...
I don't think the roads help too much, with the one ways, road works, traffic, lights etc etc - everyone ends up being late no matter how early they leave!
Even public transport sucks

But welcome to sydney! :o

I haven't ventured towards the city since DD arrived, I live out west... so don't know how much help I would be for a meet.
Although, actually I lied, I did spend a couple of days in Coogee, so close enough :p

Hiya and welcome to Sydney!

yep I hate driving in Sydney and it's just got worse with this new tunnel especially around the city I avoid driving at all costs if I can! It is madness here I am walking really slowly too as I am 28 weeks pregnant so I seem to notice how everyone is rushing everywhere...I think that was me a few weeks back lol

Hopefully you can come to our next meet :D

Hi Maxs Mummy
I am also from Sydney (Surry Hills) originally from Newcastle. I am 26yo with a 7yo daughter and currently 35wks pregnant. I am currently working in CBD and am just starting to wind down. Would love to meet other mothers in Sydney, even though I have been here for over 5years, I had no time to meet other mothers, as career has been a priority.

I don't know about Sydney drivers being the worst- have you ever been to Victoria? They have wonderful roads, but terrible drivers....that being said, it does annoy me that 80% of drivers in Sydney think that using indicators "blinkers" is optional. I refuse to drive anywhere in the city, leaving my dear partner to ferry me everywhere, seeing as I can't face the gauntlet of public transport.
I'm newish to Sydney too, and I hate it! All of my friends live at least an hour and a half away and none have cars- we're all L or P platers without cars. Plus, having a baby is isolating me even more. I get so lonely. :(

Hi, I'm Kez Mum to Justin14yrs old, Julia13yrs old and Kacie11yrs old. We moved out of Sydney 9 yrs ago and it's the best thing we ever did we now live in Wagga Wagga 4.5hours from Sydney mid way between Sydney and Melbourne. Recently came to Sydney for the week and had nearly eight accidents and Hubby was driving an experienced truck driver who doesn't speed or ever been booked for anything in his time of driving.
We couldn't wait to get back to Wagga Wagga and leave the smog, traffic, on the run people behind. I work in Child care and two of our children attend high school and the youngest is going into yr6. We now have bought our won house have an inground pool and soon a spa which we could never have afforded in Sydney unless we don't want to see our children. So Welcome to Sydney but as my Mum says Sydney is exhausting and she still lives there.:) :( :D

Welcome to the rat race called Sydney!! I live down the road from you at Rose Bay. I'm expecting my first in late April and can't wait to go on maternity leave for 8.5 months and face the challenges of being a new mum!

I've lived in Sydney all my life and even I get sick of the rush of traffic, people etc.

You might be interested to know that there's a playgroup in the area too, down at the Workmans Cottage at Woollahra Golf Course on O'Sullivan Rd at Rose Bay.

Hi there girlies!!:p

Natasha here.........i'm a complete newbie!!

Im 22 and I have lived in North Sydney for the past 2 years with my fiance and my 1 year old little girl called Anna. For the past 6 months I have tried to find other mums to meet in parks, go for coffee with or the occasional 'girls night out', and as hard as i have tried, I just cant seem to find any around my area! I'd love to meet up with you all, I don't drive but I'm willing to get taxi's.

Someone said in an earlier post something about the next Sydney get together.......Can someone please tell me where and when it is?

Also, if there are any mums or mums to be out there that are interested in a night out for just us girls I'd love to get involved. I havent been out since Anna was born! I'd love to go for a nice meal or just to a pub or wine bar,not into all these smelly sweaty clubs were you can't hear yourself think!

Anyway....let me know if anyone is interested.

Cheers

Natasha xxxxx:p
