View Full Version : Brisbane playdate anyone?
Andrew is going through a "don't make me go near other children" phase at the moment, and as a consequence, has been skipping playgroup and generally avoiding our attempts to let him get to know other children. I personally don't mind missing playgroup, but I really think that I need to try to socialise him a little bit. Surely it can't be that great to be at home with little ol' mummy every day....
He is much more receptive to other children, in small doses, in a familiar place. So I was wondering if anyone with children of a similar age would be interested in a playdate type thing at my house (The Gap)?
This is somewhat reminding me of posting a personal ad in the local paper :o Glad he's only 2 and doesn't have to feel the shame! :D
Hey Nic
I think Jake misses his playdates with Andrew too. Once i get my appointments out of the way, we will be happy to come over and have a playdate:hugs:
Hi, my little guy is 4 and a half, so I guess a bit too old for him.... otherwise I would say sure. I too am feeling guilty that he is home with me every day, but we do have playgroup once a week, and I make him go lol, he needs it.

How about K and I?? He is sooooo bored because mum doesn't have too much energy to play atm. I'm sure K would love another little friend.

 Wow, that sounds so familiar noo! We've had the same playgroup since Max (my 2 1/2 yr old boy) was born, the girls are actually from my anti natal classes, but when Max turned 9 months he became very clingy and as a result cried at every playgroup:o , he still takes a very long time to warm to anybody but now it feels more like a habit for him. He's quite good one on one in his own house and day care has been great for him, he's really much better with people in general but still struggles with playgroup!
We persevere however as I really love to see the girls and feel its good for him to learn social skills.
It is hard, especially when you sit and watch all the other children enjoying themselves eh? Max is now going through a 'scared of his own shadow' phase:rolleyes: even the wind frightened him yesterday!!! but hey, everyone has something they're conserned about, its part of being a careing parent.
