Hi Karen:)
I hope that you dont have PCOS that would be awful for you just as you are starting TTC. I hope your results come back all clear.
You could most certainly still be pregnant - some peoples BFP's take a lot longer to show up than others especially if you ovulated later that month. Have you tried another home test to be sure?

I have a girlfriend who's blood tests always came back negative even 2wks after her period was due but she was pregnant - all three times!!
Is there any other reason your Doc is suspecting that something is wrong other than that your AF being late? Seems odd he should be so concerned so quickly - on the other hand its great that he is taking it seriously too. Your scan will most certainly show any pregnancy - That is of course if you have the willpower to wait allllll weekend:) Is it an ultrasound?
Have your cycles ever been this long before?

I cant believe that you had a faint positive line! I mean a line is a line if you know what I mean and false positives are very rare- as long as it didnt come up like an hour after you took it or anything but came up within the recommended time.

There is always a chance that the blood test can be incorrect too - there are two kinds that they order: Qualitative which runs basically the same as home test only detecting the HCG hormone if there is enough of it - or Quantitative which measures the exact amount of HCG in your system whether its a weeny amount or huge.

For you own peace of mind you might want to take another HPT - if you do then take an early one that detects very small amounts of HCG. Also if the Doc did an internal he may have been able to feel if you were pregnant too - the abdominal pain could also be indicative of ectopic pregnancy which would be another reason he is running the scan perhaps? Just to rule it out of course. Sounds like you have a really thorough Doc:)

Hmm sounds odd for sure - I'll bet anything he is ruling out ectopic pregnancy. The first symtoms of that are abdominal pain and missed period.
All the best for you scan on Monday - be sure to let us know how you go:)
