I feel like I've forgotten something... important!! I dont know what it is... I have quite a good stash with a mix of both fitteds, AIO's and pockets. I am using facewashers as bum wipes. I have some soakers (which I still need to lanolise) and some fleece and PUL covers. I'm still going to get some flat's to use as backups...

But what have I forgotten???

Wetbag to keep the dirty ones in?? Maybe a small container to keep the wet washers in for when ur out and need to change bubs.. .

A nice big tight fitting nappy bucket?

I have two wetbags - the little bags that the PP's came in... Will they be big enough??

I have a nappy bucket and a container for the bumwipes at home (will use disposable ones when out)...

Maybe I'm just stressing over nothing here? LOL

Nappy liners... hmm - I have about 10 microfleece liners that i can use inside my BBB's. Do I need to use them with pockets & AIO's too?

Actually - speaking of which I'm a lil confused. Have just finished washing the BBB's (they're all ready to go!) and I dont understand how to use the inserts... They have the long one that snaps onto the back and the lil one that snaps onto the front. Do you us them both [for a newborn] or just what is needed?

there should be info about the BBBs on the website. for newborn, you just use the small one in the back snaps:thumbsup:

the little pea pod wetbags arent very big

newborns tend to poo every feed so you may need a bigger wet bag when you go somewhere.

Green kids have just brought out some wet bags

So another wetbag or two (how many do you need when you go out? Can you put more than one nappy in each bag?

I was going to get a couple of GK's when the new funtimes come out - maybe I'll grab a couple of wetbags then...

Thanks BTBM about the BBB's... I have just realised how little I actually know!!!

One medium sized wetbag should be plenty - you could just take extra plastic bags if you are going out all day.

... and I find it easier to use washers when out, as I use cloth nappies when out, so I just chuck them in there... otherwise you need to find a bin for the wipes and it's a PITA. For going out, I pre-wet the washers and put them in a huggies travel wipes box (that someone gave to me, I can't stand the smell of wipes, lol).

Thats not a bad idea... I have one of those travel wipes boxes already - my Mum went a lil overboard buying stuff for bub at Christmas! LOL...

You don't have to use them, but I find them easier than stuffing around trying to get poo off a nappy when we are out, just take the liner out of the nappy and flush it  Depends on what bubs poo is like tho, both my bubs were formula fed and theirs was solid-ish from early on so liners saved me from scraping poo in public :barf:

SO I guess if I were to use the flushable liners to begin with then we wouldn't be in so much of a rush to buy the lil squirt.. right? (Anything to put off a large purchase... :o)

I didn't bother squirting the nappy for months, as it was just sloppy, yogurhty breastfed poo that washed off. Once they started to get huge I used the squirt... I bought a little squirt when she was about 4 months old. If you are formula feeding though, you would need to squirt or use flushables I think.

breastfed poo is just mainly water anyways so it comes straight off in the wash.

i dont have a little squirt but i will be getting one when he starts eating solids

I want to BF (and will try my darndest!) so maybe I'll hold off on the lil squirt for now until the poo's become a bit more solid... So many expense's - its hard trying to prioritise which is more important...

A little squirt is not essential - if you need to you can just sluice in the toilet or run them under the tap in the laundry tub (the water goes to the same place), using a spatula to get any stubborn poo's off.

Babies are expensive aren't they?
The funny thing is though, that we haven't really spent that much extra on Olivia after she was born, as I am breastfeeding and using cloth, (and most of her new clothes have been handed down from friends).
How exciting, not long to wait now PL :D

Thanks for the help ladies

Ikis - your right; all the expenses are BEFORE bub arrives; I just cant imagine what will remain once he is here?? Though I will undoubtedly find something to spend our $ on! LOL

I cant believe its this month
