I want to buy an overlocker. I have never used one before but am a moderately proficient seamstress on a regular machine, but I have to say, I'm a little intimidated.
I think I want a four thread one, but am a bit unsure. I want it for nappies, kids clothes etc.
So, for those of you with overlockers, what would you suggest? What brands etc? Differential feeding essential? Help!

I have a brother 4 thread. I love it, it's great for nappies and clothing. I think that every overlocker can be a bit tricky to thread in the begining but you soon get used to it. I use mine all the time. Couldn't live without it, being just under 5ft I use it everytime I get new pants. lol
I love mine too.......although it took me hours (and a few dozen swear words) to thread it yesterday. aagh. It certainly makes life easier.
Now all I need to do is learn how to use it.
I just got my monthly spotlight wad of catalogues for May and there are quite a few on sale there  just for info .. hehe

Thank you girls! I am looking at a Janome 644D at the moment - it has colour coded threading which sounds about my speed :p
Anyone got any other brand suggestions?

I've ordered a J@nome 744D cause they were having a super special in march, but J@nome ran out of stock, so I'm still waiting:rolleyes:

I've been contemplating one. But I only use my sewing machine once every couple of months, so I'm not sure it will be a wise investement yet. is there anyway you can try before you buy, or rent one for a week or so?
