Wedding Gift/Registry suggestion

Following on from a previous thread, where I asked people for suggestions for wedding gifts, as I have some overseas and interstate friends getting married and I am looking at getting them something really different.

In my search I came across this website, which I thought was interesting (its American), but there are other charities in Australia that also offer this type of service.

I think for those of us who already have everything we really need, it is a great way of giving to someone else and puts a lot of things into perspective, you know the things that really matter.

i agree about gifts that matter. so often now when your friends marry they've been together for a few years and dont need anything.
i used OXFAM and bought a goat for a friend when she got married (the goat goes to the a village in africa) they also had maternal health care pack mums and babies to help with the rate of infant deaths. i also think somehting like this would be a great gift to someone having a baby because we are so lucky.
