View Full Version : January mums - May Chat
Hels: Katie still has a bottle every 3 hrs even with breakfast and dinner solids, it does how ever change after her solids she just has a little drink of ff after it, about 50 mils. but yep during the rest of the day its still 3hrly 150mil bottles
I dont wait till shes hungry for the solids..I give it just before I think shes due so shes not starving and grumpy for a bottle.
Cheeki: lol at the hair thing, dp is allways saying things to me as Im always brushing it in anticipation of bows and clips  cant wait!!
uhoh catch up later, katies yelling at me from the floor, bit better today but not much :(

Hi Ladies,
I haven’t been on for a while. Been to busy. Had Talon’s naming ceremony last Saturday. It was a great success. We were going to have a BBQ lunch but decided to do finger foods instead. T really enjoyed himself and while the priest was blessing him he was giggling away. It was so cute.
Hel – I tried T on Farex at 4 months, although he didn’t like it on its own, I added abit of pureed apple or banana and pear to it. He loves it. I was told from a friend never cut out his formula he still needs it. To me its trail and error. He’ll let you know if he’s not ready for it.
Tabby – Remember when T had bad sinus??? I used the saline nose drops. Called fess little noses. It really does the job. Cleared up in a couple of days
Dragon – Great to hear that Clea’s naming cememony was a success. BTW it was on the same day as Talon’s naming day.
I will get on later and will post some pics of Talon on his special day. Better go and cook some dinner.
Kelxx
Ok back.
Strawberry: Glad to hear the ceremony went well. Thanks for the tip nose drops, we are almost over the worst but will remember next time :)
Hels: the first defence sounds good, if it works would be worth a try.
Glad the cot move has gone well. thats a nice sleep routine hes got there.
Cat: Thanks, she was a lot better tonight, am hoping we are pretty much ok after a good sleep tonight. ouchie sure hope Cameron's leg is better.
Mouse: yep heater on here mornings as well too, more so with these colds. Have to also get a oil heater for katie real soon. I saw a lady with one in her trolley Kmart just the right size, so will check their prices out. Katies hands were like ice blocks yesterday morning!
Cheeki: I cant put Katie nap times in the cot due to the fact if shes not in her sleeping bag she just lays there kicking constantly lol. Lucky have you ladies as never even knew what a baby sleeping bag was, imagine the hassle nights without it!
Hels: to add to other post, for us:
If I bottle then wait to give solids shes usually tired by then...SO we do other way rnd, solids first then a top up bottle of about 50 mils. The usual 150 mils will come again 3 hrs later as norm
Mind you to start youll just be using about a tspn so he should still have his 200 after it for now till he ups the amount.
As the amount increases the bottle following decreases obviously.
Majorly tired here, no nap to make up for loss sleep last night so a very early one I think
sleep vibes to all
Hi
Just spent ages catching up - 13 pages!! I was the one grumbling about it being so quiet in here - think I'll just shut my mouth from now on.
Just a quick one - Emily had her needles today, DH came along and took over!!!! He's really a great guy! She was so brave with the first one - but the second one was just an insult! She lost the plot then. Also her plates on the back of her skull have fused already - we have to "watch" it.......
Anyway - will try to do some personals soon, off to Melbourne (Geeong actually) on Saturday for 1 to 2 wks - for a bit of a holiday with DH's family, will try to jump on before we leave.
Take care.......
hi everyone,
sorry I haven't posted for ages but I have been reading along. It takes so long to get through the posts I never seem to have time to write when I've finished. Have been pretty busy doing volunteer work (from home) the last couple of weeks too and am v. tired from these twice a night + wakings. Am getting used to it though I think and have been having long walks each day as part of the afternoon sleep regime. I think I'm getting fit at least but totally kn@#$ered tonight!
:hugs: Charis. sounds like you should have a break from each other?? not good to be brought to tears I don't think and you deserve better. My DH is pretty special and Hamish is no 1 for him always - he had practice as a single dad to two boys though.
Tabby I've just pm'd you (I think...) about a humidifier I was given as well that I don't think I'll use so you can have it if you want?
sory no other personals as they have all blurred into one and I'm having trouble staying awake so night all!
kx
ps forgot to say that after my last post H has had three 2 hour day sleeps! I should post negatives more often! I think he knew it was mother's day as he only woke once Saturday night (first time in two weeks) and then had a 2 hr sleep during the day as well. I got a lemon tree from DH/ H to grow with my little man! so lovely.
Hi all,
Im going crazy. Tom has been waking up every couple of hours struggling and farting. Its killing me. Im aching for this magical all night through business!
In good news he is finally off the nipple shield...thats pretty exciting for me!
Ihope bubs with colds start to get better.
Tabby...i hope you little one settles. Tom was having trouble with his teeth too. Poor little things, its such a struggle growing up!
Oh Cheeki: Huge congrats on a up and coming wedding! When do you think it will happen?
Freddie: I have pmed you back. Your generosity is much appreciated from both Katie and I xxx
The lemon tree is a lovely idea! something to see it grow along with Hamish. Hope your nights improve soon :hugs:
Acacia: If it seems his squirming/farting is whats waking him , maybe try some infants friend? I do know that if Katie has a time like that it helps get it out and helps her tummy ache after about a hr she settles nicely.
YAY for being off the nipple shield!
2cutekidz: Hugs for needles and hope shes feeling ok today. If dont see you again before have a great holiday!
Ok. Last night was relatively normal. She went 630-630 and only woke to moan/groan/fart lol
At least I didnt have to get up and hold her to sleep on the couch. SO looks like we have a reprieve from the teeth and the cold has pretty much gone YAY.
I was in bed by 7 I was absolutely shattered! DP took her again when he got home to give me a break but she was tired anyhow so dinner/bath and bed by 630. I feel MUCH better today..
I would like to thank ALL of you who have given me things lately. Times were rough there and still are a bit... and the generosity of you all simply amazes me and instills in me that the world is indeed not as bad as we sometimes think, there are still LOTS of lovely, kind and wonderful ppl and Katie and I thank you all I know that one day your kindness will be returned in many ways xxx
Freddie: LOL disregard the first 2 pm's, talk about baby brain! xx

Hi everyone
Started Sierra on some solids yesterday as she was 4 months. Tried the rice cereal first and she hated it. Retched on it and threw up everywhere, so thought i'd try a little bit of apple and she quite liked it. Took ehr a while to get used to the idea of something different in her mouth. She had almost 2 teaspoons all up.. so not bad for our first try. Brings back all the memories of starting DD1&2 on solids. DD1 was 4 months too and DD2 was about 9 months (only cos she was so premmie). She hasnt had any yet today, shes quite tired cos we got up early to take DD1 and 2 to kinder. We will be making the big move into the cot soon. DH has finally finished sanding it back from the dark stain and my SIL's partner is now getting it sprayed in white. So hopefully that will be done by monday and we can put her in it. Shes starting to get way too big for the bassinet. I've had all her linen for her cot since she was born too and its been annoying not being able to use it.
Might go have a nanna nap while its quite and Sierra is alseep.
Hi all
TiredMummy, Cameron was 4 months yesterday too and while grocery shoppping I was tempted to buy some rice cereal for a little try but decided not to. Would really like to wait until 6 months if we can as there is a bit of history of allergies and asthma in the family. I have noticed though that C has started watching very intently as I eat my weetbix & toast in the morning but he's doing just fine on milk alone at the moment. Although naughty DH has held bits of apple in his mouth for a quick lick and suck. And also a BBQ flavoured rice cracker - probably not the best first foods but did definitely tickle his tast buds! Am going to buy a high chair this weekend in preparation of when he is bigger and eating solids because I've seen a fisher price one in the latest toys'r'us catalogue that seems like a really good deal at $99.
Can't believe C is growing up so fast. DH has noticed me patting my tummy wistfully as I look at my growing boy. Had a casual discussion and pretty much decided that while we won't actively TTC we also won't be trying not TC. Just going to leave it up to fate and my body. Probably not much chance in the next few months anyway since still exclusively BF. Probably also helps if you actually DTD more than once in a blue moon! But at least (TMI!) things are finally feeling back to normal in that department :D .
Congratulations on the wedding Cheeki! My biggest tip is to just have fun with it and not stress too much over trying to organise a perfect day. Perfect is boring!
Mousebrown - do we have the same DH sounds like i get mad cause hes always got to have a smoke be4 he does something when i ask or I'll be heating a bottle and get it all ready and turn around and he vanished outside then i have to do it (as i wont allow him around the kids after having a cigarette for a while as i don't smoke i hate the smell and i always feel like its choking me and i think if its doing it to me whats it doing to my kids) ... so he gets out of lots of stuff the devil he is ... and always has to have a beer in the arvo or night when he gets home drives me nutters some times ....
The two of them sounds very similar. My DH though doesn't get out of the job by having a smoke beforehand. I prompty tell him he stinks and he has to change his shirt before going to do what i asked. The downside of this is I seem to end up with a lot more washing:mad: .
...haha i said how many beers did u have on the plane have another one...
 at this, your reply is exactly what i would have said in the same situation. I'd tie him down to a date soon! Then you have a specific date (month is probably close enough at the moment if he's talking about the twins walking:p ) to work to.
TJ slept for 9 hours last night:smiliedance: . I almost feel human today.
Have a great day!

Congratulations Cheeki!
Well last night G woke up every 2.5 hours. Inspired by Aries moon - I am starting to think she is just damn hungry. I really wanted to wait until 6 months before I started solids, but what can you do! You really have to be guided by them. She will be 4 calendar months next week - so I might see how she goes over the next few days. If the night waking continues, then I am going to try rice cereal. So sad that she is growing up!!
Congratulations on your engagement Cheeki!! Weddings can be so exciting, good luck with the planning. We had a nice garden wedding when I was 7months pg with DS! It was different! When my DH asked me to marry him I thought he was joking so I said yes anyway - turns out he was for real, lucky I said yes cause he said he'd only ever ask me once.
Hope Tabby and Katie are feeling better now - colds are the pits - thank god its not gastro though - yuck! Poor Cheeki's boys :hugs:
I totally understand what you mean Aries about being labelled a "young mum". I was 21 when I fell pg with DS and 22 when I actually had him. I was the youngest mum in my mothers group. It was quiet funny though as they spent most of their time defending why they waited to have their bubs late - as though it mattered to me?? I personally think there are pros and cons for either way and it's just personal choice, I just didn't like those mums that looked down on me for not having a "life" before I gave life. Another thing that bothered me about those mums was the automatic assumptions they made about me due to my age, it was the little questions like "so do you work?", "do you have a partner?" and "do you rent in the area?" - usually by the time I tell them that my husband and I bought our first house when I was 19 that shuts them up..... now I just say the name of the estate we live in, you can see the shock in there eyes (we don't dress/act like people from our estate).... ha ha - I love to outsnob them!!
Mousebrown - ikwym about men always having a "thing" they need to do before they can do something that you've asked them to do - I call it tunnel vision, they just get it in their minds that their task has to be done first - grrr men! I am sure he has lots to say about me - often suggested he should jump on the men's thread and have a whinge about me!
No solids here - determined to wait till 6 months unless of course she is starving. Tried to give her some panadol last night and she gagged and vomited it all back up - really doesn't like anything in her mouth (lets just hope that remains right throughout the teenage years - hmmm).
We had a midnight feed last night ??? Just after a blissfull week of all nighters she pulls this stunt! Babies just like to keep it interesting don't they! DH is on holidays for a month so I don't mind so much as he lets me sleep in after the early morning feed (I love that :D) while he tends to DS.
We have had the inlaws here for 4 days - they just left. I could rant but I am starting to think that all the bad thoughts that I had about them while they were here are bad enough karma, don't want to make it any worse, lol. So I sympathise with all who have "issues" with their inlaws.... I am with you :hugs:.
Still no rolling - lots of talking though. Yesterday Dr said she's very engaging with her talking etc - made me feel quiet chuffed!
Anyway enough from me, must get to and make my going away list so I don't forget anything. We are taking DS to melbourne zoo, aqauriam (sp) and on the puffing billy whilst in melbourne. Will be busy busy. Not sure of any other places that are good for a four year old? Besides I am sure thats as far as my budget will stretch anyway!
Take care - have a great week all.

Cheeki - Congrats on the forth coming wedding! :smiliedance:
Not alot of news here, I gave R a small taste of my weetbix this morning, he couldn't get the hang of how to swallow it so it ended up on his chin lol. I'll try the rice cereal in the next few weeks, he is almost ready but not quite there yet.
The last 2 days he has settled down a bit and had some good daytime sleeps, aswell as sleeping through the night. I think maybe I was missing some of his tired signs and then he was getting feral! He rolled on his side yesterday which is another milestone, I took a photo so I'll put it in the photo thread when I get around to it.
Today we were meant to have a Melb meet but it was postponed to next week for one reason or another. I decided that I have been spending too much time on the PC lately so today I utilised the time at home and did some cleaning and household chores. I feel so much better for it and now that they are done I can play on the PC lol.
I had a phone call today from Melb IVF and they gave me the name of a lady to speak to about having another bub with the same donor, so I will ring her when I get the chance. It will be nice to know where we stand and what the next step will be. Can't believe we are already discussing another bub, but the public system takes so long and it will be another year just to get through all the appointments and red tape.
Sorry for all the :ecomcity: hope everone is doing well.
Thanks 2cutekidz, we are pretty much over it now.
Katie is almost back to her old happy self! Me, I just have the sniffles left.
Hope your midnight feed was a one of. :fingerscrossed:

WOW that was alot of reading to catch up on!! LOL
Tabby - Thanks for the hugs for Jett!! He went really well, didnt cry much and was great that morning..we even went to playgroup, but come that afternoon he wasnt a very happy little lad!! Bit warm and whingey!
Hels - Thankyou for your comment re the whole donor issue, I m very open person and not easily offended!! Thats great to hear you recieved such a wonderful gift. And my heart goes out to those out there who cant conceive ..I had 4 years of emotional, financial trauma of trying to concieve, it tested my faith in the world, my relationship...so I do to some degree have an understanding. And i know that is only the tip of the iceberg, i know there are people who have spent thousands and tried for ten years etc.. My only problem is that it is my husband AND my biological child..it would be like adopting out a baby. I would always be looking in the crowds thinking...'does that child look like my daughter or son" and also knowing that they have a full blood brother or sister out there...would be very hard to deal with.
But..on the other hand, I have thought alot about egg donation...to me...this would be easy..they are eggs and if i give them away they are no longer mine. Ive mentioned it to my husband about going to monash to enquire about egg donation, because i would love to help someone out there.
I hope this makes some sort of sense to those reading!! ??
Well Jett has been a bit grizzly today, still from needles yesterday, and think he on the verge of the flu...gave him some infant demazin which seems to have helped..oh and panadol!!
Hes still haivng rice cereal, i bought the pear and banana one and just add a bit of pureed pear..much nicer than the plain! He usually has his mid morning in between bottles..hasnt really affected his bottles at all. Did try him on it twice a day but he vomitted it all back up..think it was too much just yet!!!
Well no rolling over here just yet...thank goodness.....the longer he stays a baby the happier i am !!!!!
Anway am off to bed...goodnite all ! xx

congrats Cheeki on wedding plans!! how exciting!! hope that its lots of fun dreaming and planning the day xx
finalcountdown - hope that Jett is better :fingerscrossed:
Hels - I wish you all the best for the journey ahead with IVF.
2cutekidz- hope that there is no more night time waking!
I have come to accept that G will continue to waken at night and will grow out of it when he wants to and there is no point getting stressed with it!!
finalcountdown - left you out of my last post - no advice, sorry but I do have :hugs: for you and your very hard decision.... whatever you choose will be right for you!
hels - good luck on your new ttc journey :fingerscrossed: so exciting!!
jacstar31 - great attitude  - thats the biggest hurdle (our attitudes to night waking bubs), once we accept it the easier it seems to get, it doesn't bother me so much as it surprises me more when she does wake, lol.
no worries about the mummy brain Tabby  know where yr coming from!
congrats Cheeki, don't feel doubtful about your wedding. after so long together there's no doubts there it seems so you can really enjoy it. I had a beach wedding - by the river inlet actually - and it was just lovely and very low key followed by a big bbq/ party and aided very much by my dad's hooch! (home made gin and vodka).well that seems some time ago...forgotten what its like to have a few too many and let my hair down. now it just falls out.
now I really am going to try and get to bed early tonight so better get off there quick smart.

lol Thanks Freddie, have pmed again :D
Finalcountdown: Hope hes feeling better today and no sign of that cold. might be a side affect? I do know they can appear as flu like, If so hope it passes soon xx
Had a great night here again, 730-630 and not a sound inbetween YAY all back to normal.
Katie has found a new sound, started yesterday, its a bit like a sqeal/talk. ds2 whos 15 yrs old says hmm that could get quite annoying :laughing:
Hope everyone got a good night as well xxx

hi everyone,
hope everyone's well! We're having a bad sleep week AGAIN... so frustrated. DH seems to be able to put her to sleep better than me now so he stayed up last night. i think she's not getting enough sleep in the day because we're too busy and then she's too overtired to feed properly so it's a vicious circle type thing. Maybe she's ready for some solids too - she's getting close to the right age.
yay! a wedding! Congratulations cheeki :) Looking forward to hearing all your plans.... ;)
ttc - despite previously been very keen to ttc soon (i think that was when we had a good sleeping week) I've very quickly changed my mind again after another week of no sleep. arggghh!! Good luck for those crazy ppl out there.
finalcountdown - what a tough decision. I hope that you can sort it out soon so youc an put your mind at rest. Each choice seems to be a heartbreaker.
Well, we're off to school to see my old workmates and students... they were getting annoyed that i've left it so late but i didn't want caitlin at a school where she could pick up all kinds of diseases. Even today I'm planning on keeping her in a sling unless in the staff room -I know all my old students will want a hold of the baby they saw growing.. but they can keep their feral teenage germies away!
LOL Cordelia, Hope those feral teenage germs stay away from Caitlin and you have a lovely day!
The ttc, hah fully know that feeling, when K was sick all this week I was like ARE YOU MAD WOMAN??!!! but didnt last long. :D
I had to giggle at whoever it was said about not taking even the panadol in thier mouth and hoped it stayed that way teenage yrs...was that 2cutekidz?? anyway made for huge laugh. thanks
Gota run. Katies only had a short nap and awake now
Hi everyone
Wow its been ages since I've been on - been very busy lately!
Well we had Cooper baptised on the 29th April along with our friends bub Abby who we are godparents to. Was an awesome day - family & friends together and lots of food and drink!
My bro and his gf were over from Perth for 2 weeks too which was great! Haven't seen him since Oct last year so he finally got to meet Cooper! He was over for our friends wedding which DH and I were Best Man and Bridesmaid for. Was a beautiful wedding and an awesome reception - booze was flowing and music was blaring (although I didn't touch the booze, DH made up for the both of us - I think he was the token drunk!) Was the longest I had been away from Cooper for and god my boobies were about to explode by the time I got home! Mum and Dad babysat and he took a bottle of formula from them but won't take it from me now when I try and give it to him late at night :detective: Am trying to give it to him so it will fill him up for longer and hopefully sleep longer!
Spent two nights up at Coolum with DH, Bro and gf and it was great to relax and just do nothing! Cooper went for a swim in the spa with his little dt's! Very cute! But didn't get and photos cause I was playing tennis with bro when DH took him  He loved it though so once he's 6 months will definately start swimming - love the thougth of water babies!
Well he is in the big cot now! Had to move him cause we are lending our bassinette to friends who have just had their little baby boy! A few weeks early so had to be in the isolet (sp?) for a while but is home now and we are going to visit on Saturday - can't wait!
Our friends bub has just been in hospy with a urinary tract infection - poor thing! Had been running a temp for a while and they took her to hospy on the Fri night but was sent home cause they said it was a viral infection and just let it run its course. But on Mothers Day she was still running a temp and while they were at family's house she had a fit and went limp! So needless to say it was a race to the hospy and she was admitted! Was put on a drip and came home on Wednesday! Was a big scare for all of us! And I haven't been able to go and see her yet cause I have a cold :-( First one I've had in years. I usually get the flu vac in March but forgot about it this year - am booked in for Monday though.
We are having Coopers needles on Monday too - not looking forward to that. Bit late too - bout 2 weeks - oops!
Anyways I think I've written enough now - time to go back and read what everyone else has been up to.
Cheers, Shaz:)
Hi ladies.
Cheeki - Congrats about the wedding - so happy for you. I'm sure it will be beautiful because you can share it with the kids (and hopefully dump them with nanna afterwards and have a romantic night away!!!)
Finalcountdown - I think you have such a big heart to consider egg donation and I totally understand what you are saying about wondering if you had another biological child out there. Such a tough decision for you and hubby.
Tabby - So exciting!!! Sending good TTC vibes to you.
Must be the season for colds.....DS came home from kindy with one and promptly coughed all over Kelsey for the next 2 days. I figured I can't keep them apart so he might as well give it to her. Anyway, she woke up really snotty and coughing this morning but plenty of euky baby seems to have helped her out. Now I have a snotty nose!! Oh well, if I get it at least she will get some antibodies from my milk!!
Sorry if I missed anyone - there was heaps to catch up on. Take care
Flicka
Thanks Flicka :hugs:
Just a quick one, had to share
Katie just held her bottle on her own for the first time! Shes been holding it on and off for last 2 weeks but just then she grabbed it before it even got to her mouth and just took over, only had to help her near the end as she didnt have up high enough

Awwww Tabby - so cute and what a big girl she is....so much lovely hair to brush. Can't tell too much from the pic but is it a strawberry blonde colour???
Forgot to say earlier to Hels - good luck with organising everything for TTC a little bro or sis for Reece. Feeling really clucky with all you girls wanting another bub!
Heh yep its strawberry blonde, theres a heap pics on my site can see it better. My album is in my sig below

I think Reece is a strawberry blonde too, he's definitely getting lighter though.
I have been eBaying tonight, well buying/bidding this time. I love spending money on R, it's so tempting to go mad but I don't have the $$ to do that lol.
Target has got 20-30% off clothes incl kids so that's where we are headed tomorrow :D
Have a great weekend everyone.
We are headed to Target tomorrow too. C was in his 0000's for ages but the 000 stage hasn't lasted long at all (especially since the clothes need to fit over his BabyBeehinds cloth nappies!). So I need to buy some 00's for him pretty quick smart and get a couple of things for the cooler months even though I still find it hard to imagine he's going to ever need long sleeves. It's still 30 here every day and according to his gro-bag egg themometre his room has never yet dropped below 25 even in the middle of the night.
Cute pics Tabby. C still has a mohawke that makes him look like a cockatoo. DH wants to cut it off but definitely not going to let that happen!
Flicka, hope the colds get better over the weekend.
haha yer Katie has this thing that sticks up at the top, we tell her shes just like our cocky spaz.
Wouldnt cut it off either, its rather cute now lol.
Hels: I agree Reece looks strawberry blonde as well. Told you we will have to watch out for him when hes older. :D
Katies just now gone to 00, the 000 are ok in sposies but in cloth too tight on her bum and less leg length. Really need to get her some new clothes too.
:smiliedance: for Katie holding her bottle. TJ just keeps pushing hers away.
As for clothes, I don't think my wee monster will be in 00's for much longer. After having such a tiny bub first time, I can't get over or keep up with TJ's size.
A major achievement this morning...TJ rolled over (front to back). Then tonight during tummy time (equates to, I have to run the bath, so just stay on your rug for a while), she managed to make it off the rug and half a meter along the timber floor. Will ahev to start watching for all the little things on the floor that bubs love to put in their mouths (sp?).
Have a great weekend,

HI mousebrown. great that TJ is rolling.
Ashton holds the bottle sometimes for a bit.
well i wont be on here this wkend off to perth tomorrow for my cousins wedding. Will also be the first time for alot of my rele's to see ash.
have a great wkend and hope you all have some good night:sleeping:
Katie looks so cute holding her bottle.
Josh held his bottle for the first time a couple of weeks ago, but he hasn't quite got it down pat yet so he only lasts about 20 seconds at most. It's so cute though!
Myer has 30% off kids clothes at the moment - they have some nice stuff, I went and looked yesterday. Josh is in 00's and it looks like he'll be heading into 0's, particularly in long leg suits/overalls VERY soon. Eik! Does it slow down soon? Should I expect him to be in size 1 for a while? Is he likely to be in size 1 in summer?
cat ... that's a hot room. I love my grobag egg :). Josh's egg has only turned blue (below 16) twice, which given Melbourne's weather surprised me. I'm sure it will end up being blue most nights all too soon.
Morning all,
Mim, Sugar, Sounds like they arnt far off holding it, Katie was like that all week then just took over.
Also Katie is a few weeks older than most here so is bound to do a few things sooner.:D

Mouse: YAY for TJ rolling!

Just wanted to let you all know i got a :bfp: today. Dh and I are still in total shock but very excited. :smiliedance: Have to get it confirmed from the doctors yet and I need a dating scan as I don’t know when I ovulated. I most probably due around 3week in January. I will be having another c section. We can’t believe it. It took us 10 months to conceive Talon. :fingerscrossed: This bub sticks.
Talon has finally cut his first tooth.. :yelclap: Didn’t really notice as he wasn’t cranky at all just dribbling a lot. T is trying to get the knack of crawling but he get fustrated and gets cranky.
I must go bub is awake and we are heading to the shops.
Take care
Kel
WOW Kel/StrawbShortcake that is wonderful. Congratulations to you all. :smiliedance: Jan07 and Jan08 Mum.:)
Thanks all for the words, thoughts about H's Dad. I don't want Hunter to perpetuate his Dads view that Fathers aren't needed and don't spend time childrearing, but that he grows up in a stable happy home takes precedence, which is what is happening. He is just completely lovely.
I had a hard weektrying to finish a great deal of work while H asleep. Fri morning I stayed up at 5am, rather than head back to sleep. But over now and its a SATURDAY.And H kept sleeping from a sleep-eat 5pm/7pm till 8am. First long long sleep. Up at 12,5 and retucked at 6.30. He's not lethargic, promise! Just had a lot of stuff going on yesterday.
Tabby great shot, Katie is so clever. Yes, am hearing you about the high pitched squeal!! Am singing low and deep Harry Belafonte to counteract. Hehe re DS2 !!
Mousebrown great great about the rolling and scooting about!
Cordelia hope the school return went great!
Mim1 thanks the the Target sale alert, and Myer too! Like Hels did some shopping last night on ebay:smiliedance:
OH Bounty Bags has anyone picked up their 12week ones?
Freddie awesome about the 2hr day sleeps WOW and the volunteer wk. I did look up the trail event day, looks great! June?
Oh Perthies-10-11amWednes gold coin donation exercise class at Karrinyup Community Centre opp Library in Lib building. Great class, almost as good as KEMH Aries. up until they crawl..

Wow! Another baby!! Congratulations Strawberry :) I hope it all goes well for you!
That's made my morning after a terrible night. I'm over it. I AM SO OVER IT. I can never get her to go to sleep but WORSE... every time I feed her she screams and SCREAMS for about 10 minutes before settling into the feed. It's soooo painfully hurtful to be rejected like that. The CHN said that it's either because she's teething (which she doesn't appear to be atm) or because she would rather be up looking around and when she's feeding she can't see. That sounds like @*#$&^#@($*& to me. I seriously felt like throwing her at my DH last night and leaving. argargargharg
Thanks everyone - the trip to school went well. The kids were rapped with her... and most kept their grubby hands off ;)
Charis - karrinyup is the other side of the world for me but glad you've found a good class:)
yay for tj rolling! yuo'll have to watch her now.
Caitlin's done a few feeble half rolly type things but I think she's closer to sitting. she always has to be upright... hates been on the floor and esp. on he rstomach.
WOOOHOOO Strawberry! big big Congrats for your :bfp:.
Hope to be joining you soon.
and yay for Talons first toothy peg!
Charis: 12 week bounty bag....????? no idea was even one after the newborn one from target...
Cordelia: big :hugs: for the crappy nights hun, hope they end soon for you!
breast fed isnt she? Does C do the same with ebm bottle ? No idea why/ how that helps but may give a better insight to something somehow??? Could at least rule out what CHN says as can partly sit her and bottle and see if same?
Cheeki: Hope things are better for you too!
hope you get some nice mummy naps later

just a quick one to say CONGRATS STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE!!! :smiliedance:
so excited for you, and almost a tad envious, but not quite ready to jump on that bandwagon with ya.....all the best! :D
Congrats Strawberry! Wonderful News!
Question for BF mums: Does your bubs wee have quite a strong smell sometimes? M's can be quite on the nose, maybe I'm not drinking enough water. Sometimes I think he's done a #2 only to discover a particularly full, wet nappy.
I have a sleepy baby this afternoon after a big morning out to the park followed by the shops. I'm dragging feeds out to 4hrly during the day now, as a result M is feeding better and I can't believe how long it feels between feeds, 3hrly just flew by and I felt like I always had a boob out!
We received our Huggies playmat yesterday and it's great. For some reason I was expecting a cloth mat but it is all plastic - easy to clean I guess. It plays 7 different tunes and gives you instructions to play yourself too! Remember to have 4 X AA batteries ready!
Hugs Cordelia. Sorry about your night. Last night H screamed during night feed too, v strange indeed. But my sleep state brain remembered earlier in the day he needed to burp and vomit during the feed, so just walked him around in burping position...whereupon burp/vomit/fart. Yup.Noisy here :) Then he felt much better. ?? Anything like that for poor C? Or maybe ovulation?? Yes Karrinyup is a long way for an hrs jumping around.Hope shes happy tonight.
SammyG, yes! H smells like carrots when has a wet nappy.
Hmm maybe he IS lethargic? Had longer than an hour sleep in the car and just now a hour + half. He's a little cold to touch, but normal colour?? Will google lethargy. And terrible terrible, either he was rubbing his coarse cottom numbat in the car while asleep..or it was just from reading his textured book(inc corrugations!) for a few minutes earlier today, but has blisters on the ends of all the fingers on one hand.  Can rule out systemic issues as rest of him fine, nor heat, as they are 'wear' blisters, like he's been shovelling or reading a whole braille library. Poor bubby. I put sudocream on them and then a mitten, before his long sleep.Gosh v v sensitive skin.OH poor bub, I wish they were my fingers!
Charis, Paw Paw ointment is great for things like that too! It also works as a good lip balm! Hope his little fingers recover quickly! I'm sure they will and he will be reading again as soon as he is up!

WOW. Congratulations Strawberry on your :bfp: . That is so exciting.
Cordelia: Hope you have had a better day today.
Tabby: How clever is Katie, I just love that photo. So cant wait till I can post one the same.
Charis: Let us now how H is. poor little man with his sore fingers. It sounds like a good idea with the mittens on him.
Have a good rest of the weekend all. Have got 4 children at the moment. Hubby had his vasectomy and boy is he complaining. I tell him imagine how I felt after pushing a 9pd baby out of my privates. GET OVER IT. Anyway better play dutiful wife.
Seeya
Paw paw ointment is the magic cure all for everythingh! I love the stuff! I have it in every room!
Kel, congrats on your BFP. Thats very exciting! I have so much admiration for women who have kids close together, or twins. Its amazing.
Tom only woke once last night which was great because i was starting to go a bit nutty! He has been pretty grumpy today though. I think its time for a bit of food.
wee...when it sits for a bit the bacteria grows and ammonia is formed giving it the strong smell. Toms night time nappies are horrid because they are on for a lot longer!
Cordellia I think its pretty normal to be frustrated to the extreme with bubs. Yesterday my mum called me and i just sobbed and sobbed and she came and picked me up to give me a break. Can you get someone to take bubs for a walk or something? I think the tiniest of breaks helps a huge amount. :hugs:
Hope everyone is good.

congratulations strawberry shortcake! what exciting news! especially after it taking a long time last time.
Cordelia - I agree with the over it part!
I have tried so many things with G and he still won't sleep thru the night and also i feel like i am constantly b/f. I want to try and get him onto the bottle, he won't have a bar of it and it all seems like such hard work! masses of fussing and screaming all for about 30mls at most....i am planning to go back to work in 2 months and my DH will be full time with G. hmmmm v. interesting if no bottle by then...
also just wanted to vent about people constantly saying that 'if only he had a dummy' you wouldn't have so many probs with him sleeping at night and fussing during day...der the dummy is not the be all and end all everything....sometimes I wish he took one too, but I don't think its going to happen when he 5 1/2 mths and hasn't taken one so far despite many, many attempts and gags etc.....ok vent over!!

Thanks everyone for your encouragement. Today DH took Caitlin to gymbaroo and then dropped her off at my mum's and I got my hair straightened and went shopping. I bought "the contented little baby" and am hoping to revamp my motivation with a new system and ideas. Am also thinking I'm going to start solids this week because her feeds have been getting closer to 2-2.5 hours and she is 5 months so maybe it's time. But yeah, DH gave her some bottles of EBM today and she wasn't so bad - but then she was ok with me today. THANK GOODNESS because I swear I was going to pull my hair out.
jacster: lovely to hear about the bath.. it is really special :) I agree about dummy - except we folded and let her have one. But I have to say she hasn't needed it in the past few days and seems to be slowly doing without. Mind you, the thumb has been getting a big workout!!
Charis: wierd about the fingers!! Hope they get better and you can work it out
sammyg: I haven't noticed strong smelling wee... in fact sometimes I find it hard to tell if she's wee-ed or not.. Don't have any ideas sorry.
victoria: good on DH... I know mine will never allow anyone near that area! maybe after 4 babies he might change his mind tho :P

Just a quick post to let everyone know that Matthew slept from 8pm last night to 6am this morning:smiliedance: :smiliedance: . Just when i had given up all hope of this happening. Hopefully it wasn't a one of.
Oh and congratulations Strawberry on the:bfp: you are a brave women.
Sammy: Could it be teething? teething can account for a stronger smelling wee sometimes.
Victoria: Had to have a  at your last line. Nice reply to dh. Also good on him for having it done.
Have decided it do end up a c-sec next will get tubes tied, if I get vbac I will get done later though.
Im correct that can get them done with the c-sec?
jacstar31: Hope you get the bottle situation working for you soon.
your special bath time sounds just lovely!
Cordelia: Glad to see you had a much better day, hope your nights as good!
Question! Can someone who is immunized get german measles ( rubella ). DS2 is showing all signs to it, couldnt get it confirmed gp as mine is away hols and other is a quack! Am 99% sure it is. Hes 15 so could it have worn off ? I know my immunity was low after K so they gave me another but im 43, hes only 15
Relieved am not preggers at this time...
Good sleeps to all

Thanks for the congrats on my :bfp: . I'm still in shock but very excited. We weren't even ttc:D
cheers Kel
Just a quick catch up before bed...
Strawberry - a BIG congratulations :yelclap: . You should get a prize for being the first to make that announcement in this thread!!
Charis - I did collect the bounty bag from Target and was very disappointed compared to the other bounty bags:thumbsdown: . Hardly anything in it, not even a magazine which I'd been looking forward to. Not sure if it makes a difference what state you collect it in. The only thing that was in it was a novelty rescue pack for dad's - ear plugs, stubby holder etc. (Also, hope H's blisters heal soon)
Went shopping today as planned and bought new clothes for C. Some 00 & some 0 for growing into. Also bought (and assembled) a high chair. I though we'd have to wait to use it but it has a reclining position so C could start joining us at the table already (but just to watch for now!). And because I saved money with the high chair being on special I couldn't help buy C a new toy :o . Got him a baby gym that's a bit more interactive than his current one. Has a kickplate with 2 footprints on it that squeak & ding when they are kicked - he absolutely LOVES it. Almost as fun as kicking mum's chest at nappy change time!

Morning everyone
Tabby - I'm pretty sure you can still get things even if you are immunised. I was immunised when i was little & ended up getting mumps, measles & german measles. 4 kids at DD1 kinder have got chicken pox & she hasnt been immunised against that so i'm waiting for it  Hope she doesnt get it.
Sierra had a pretty good night. Went down at 6-6:30, not exactly sure cos DH put her down & slept til 5:30 this morning. It was DH night to get up & she never has a 1am or 3am feed when its his turn.... NOT FAIR!! lol. Shes going thru a stage where she cracks it if people she doesnt know very well hold her... any one else getting that? DD1 did it too at the same age. Maybe its just my kids
Victoria- Good on your DH for getting the snip. My DH is having his done soon hopefully. He can only get it done on a weekend & its really busy at his work at the moment cos they have short staff so he is working 2 weekends then 1 off, so its a bit hard to arrange things like that when hes not exactly sure if he's working or not. Next few weeks though hopefully.
Strawberry - Big Congrats on your:bfp: Very exciting for you & after such a long time trying to conceive the 1st time. It took us 12months to conceive or first but seemed to getting pregnant everytime we tried after that. We didnt even try for Sierra & that just happened somehow:confused: lol.
Hope everyone has a great weekend... well whats left of it.

strawberry - congrats .... best of luck with it all - i had two under one -... (only for 3 weeks:laughing: ) they were born within 11 months of each other - i'll be honest - hard work but sooo worth it :hugs:
bubs slept thru last night as we have finally been able to settle her better - so thanks everyone for all you help and for listening over the last few weeks... i have manage to be able to bf her twice a day and she is bottle feed for everything else - my supply has been great doing this - and she is able to tolerate it so :fingerscrossed: we can do this for awhile..
just a quickie - what is gymbaroo??? and where is it???
Hi!!
Bossoflatch - so glad to things seem better. have been thinking about you and wondering how you were going. Glad to hear you have been able to keep 2 b/feeds a day. At least you still get that special time with her as I imagine it is important when you have been going thru all of these ups and downs. PLUS, if you are anything like me, I sort of feel like b/f is the one thing I can do for my kids that no one else can and that makes me feel good. **Not being anti-bottle here - have no probs with bottle feeding either** But for me, I can't comment on bottles because I don't even own one and have never used one so I guess my comments are completely one-sided!
Cordelia - can totally relate to what you said a few pages back about the fussy feeds. There have been times I have felt really anxious over Kelsey's fussy feeding and have just given her to DH in tears saying "She hates me". take heart - I'm sure it will pass.
Victoria - LOL about your DH's vasectomy. I agree - nothing remotely like pushing out a 9pd bag of sausages (that's what it felt like for me). Read somewhere that for a man his vasectomy story is his version of a birth story!
Strawberry - OMG HOORAY FOR YOU. So happy for you.
Jacstar - Yep know what you mean about dummy comments. My MIL thinks both of my kids should have had them but I don't want to and quite frankly I couldn't be bothered to clean them etc. I am of the opinion that if they want to suck, have a feed or suck your thumb (probably opening a can of worms with that comment). Again, not anti dummy for those of you who use them - just don't use them by choice.
Tabby - I thought i had measles last year just before I found out I was preg with kelsey. had all of the symptoms and went to the docs and he said he hasn't seen a case in over 15 years and it is very rare. Not to say it can't happen though....turned out I had a BAD reaction to antibiotics.
Sorry for the long post but had a heap to catch up on.
Things good here - the kids seems to be coping with their colds - just the mornings are really yuck with lots of snot. Spent ages picking dried boogers out of Kelsey's nose - how charming! She needs to have her next lot of needles but thought I should wait until she is well and truly over this cold.
Take care all...
Cordelia
20-05-2007, 14:19
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.................. she's been asleep for 90 minutes and it's in the DAYTIME.... this is absolute bliss... surely this routine can't work this quickly. I'll have to let you all know... so far. AMAZING!!! I was supposed to start solids at lunch but DH was called in to work and he really wants to be here for her first time so we're going to give them to her at the 6:00 feed (I'd better check the book for that time!) so hopefully she doesn't have a bad reaction.
Flicka - thanks for saying that. I agree it's abotu looking past it and thinking of the bigger picture. *positive thoughts*
Gymbaroo - it's like exercise and massage and dancing and playing on baby gym equipment. i know it sounds pretty useless - most of the parents there are quite... elitist? is that the word? DH said. But at least it gives him a chance to do something special with Caitlin and hope they'll keep up doing something together on Saturdays... here's the website anyway...
http://www.gymbaroo.com.au/
Target bounty bag - I thought it was dodgy too. You get the same bag if you go to a baby clinic day at a chemist... I don't think it had anything different to the bag you got when you leave hospital at the birth.
Did someone say German Measles? Yikes! I know that your immunisation can wear off? Coz some mum's from mums group had to redo their needle before they decided to ttc.... hope it's all good Tabby!
Glad the little miss is sleeping for you Cordelia.
C has just put himself to sleep in his cot for about the 3rd time ever. Mild grizzling for 30 mins or so and then more full on crying but I was on the phone and by the time I managed to wind the call up and pass it to DH outside working on his boat, the house had gone quiet. I peeked in and he was still awake but just sucking his thumb and staring. Checked a few minutes later and fast asleep.
So methinks Cameron's mummy is a bit soft and needs to give him longer to settle himself before she offers booby or a pram ride. I just hate waiting out the screaming part because I don't know in advance if it is just the cry he has to have before he can drop off or if he is actually working up to bigger hysterics.
I hear noises.....so only a little afternon nap but :fingerscrossed: he can do it more often as he really is outgrowing the bassinet on his pram!
Thanks Tiredmummy,
Thought as much, have decided to go gp regardless if not cleared by tomorrow, rubella = 3 days of spots and tomorrow is day 3 so if not clearing will go and see what is.
Yes on the crying when held by someone not known/barely know. Have had two instances this week with Katie so far. big tears and all!
Bossoflatch: SO happy to hear things are much better. hope it stays that way xxx
Flicka: Am sure is german measles and not just measles, wonder if the rarity is the same?
Good to hear their colds seem to be on the mend.
Cordelia: Thanks, yep had a update of mine 1 week after K was born, apparently I was "low immunity" with her. It should be checked every time before ttc along with other blood tests so am told. Least I know mines ok allready.
Hope the first dinner for Caitlin went well and got some more lovely sleeps.
Cat: Im the same, am sure Katie would self settle without me going in if I just waited it out more often too but hate hearing her cry!.
Not that crys much but if I left her she would, she does cry more than used to though..
Cheeki: Thanks for the coles tip, was planning a few things for K this week so will check them out first.
And thanks yes we are MUCH better, K is totally over it, mines hanging on a bit for some reason but feel better than last week!
LOL do you call zaide, zaidee bum? cos weve been calling Katie katie-bum as well
Where on earth do we get our ideas from???
Went to mil's today for the day ( country ), Katie didnt sleep much at all so was very overtired by 5ish, took ages to settle.:(
She didnt like away from her routine at all...
Good sleeps to all xxx
kel ... congrats on the :bfp: It brings back memories of 12 months ago :).
Josh has been difficult to settle this afternoon and evening. It shouldn't be a surprise as he's been out to big events for 2 nights in a row and various other things during the day for the last 4 or 5 days. So, I told him he isn't allowed to go out for a couple of days - dh said I'd grounded him :). Yep, I suppose I have. He'll be better in a day or two with some good sleep. Wish he'd go to sleep now, I'm tired but he wants to play! grr!
cat ... josh can REALLY grizzle and that was one thing that I noticed when I moved him out of our room - it was easier to ignore the grizzles. BUT, if the grizzles get louder and louder they will soon become cries then screams and then he does need help settling. He's quite tired at the moment, so I'm having trouble getting him to bed before he's overtired and grizzling loudly making it really hard to settle him. BUT, if I catch him looking tired before he grizzles and wrap him and put him in his cot he will often go to sleep on his own.
 at least Lolly is better than silly, tis rather cute actually!
Glad we are not the only ones with the -bum now I dont feel so weird
Great about the nicknames Tabby and Cheeki28! :)
Yes absolutely about the passing to people he's never met. The complete 'MUMMY WHAT ARE YOU DOING face' oops. It did mean he wasn't passed around at all at a 40th last week as he spat it with the first person he got handed to.
Blisters are getting better, thanks for the thoughts! Bad Mummy, I think it was in the car, an hr of jiggling/rubbing :( Against the handmade sri lankan 'numbat'. Yep I now think a softer bear has some great attributes!
Oh we had the wake 12.2.5 situation here for the first time last night. Silly as I went to bed at 11. And doh was so blurry I just fed on one side, so when he woke again he got the other side..and how long have we been doing this!!
Was nice relaxing day yesterday and today, but am still bit sad as told his Dad we were out on Fri if he wanted to pick up his kayak (he stores here) and small bit of other stuff. So yup all gone, my Mothers Day choccies left and also my door key. So am sad even though it what I suggested and am happy there is a bit of clarity. Do care for the fellow, but such hard work. Perhaps it will get better, but it needed a 'line in the sand'.
Cordelia, how did the feeding go? H really really was interested in my lunch. How are you finding Gina Ford, the Contented Baby Book? How are you finding the regimented approach, I don't do it, but think there's some wisdom in it.Should I read it again?
Cat13 great about the self day sleep YAH:smiliedance: Don't think you're being soft about helping C to sleep (all the rest of the time) But great to know he can do it!
Flicka all the best with Kelseys needles, we're having them this week too.
Oh meant to write sometime about all the wonderful happy things H does, he has a giggle, then another giggle then a lot of them together if he sits on top of me and I do 'crunches' (half situps) I must look v funny. Was nice to visit my Mum and watched him spend a bit of time touching a wooden Buddha head with an enamoured expression on his face. Gosh they are lovely!!
xxNite all
Morning all
Thank goodness the upset of routine only affected getting to sleep, she still went through.
I think I upset the mil yesterday, she went to give K a "taste" of chocolate and I pushed her hand away and said no dont give her that, the look on her face was complete surprise! DP defended me and said dont give her that cr@p shes too young, just because you gave my brother chocmilk !
I was rather chuffed he did, saved me explaining that we dont want her having stuff like that, now remember heres the woman who gave hers chocmilk at 3 months!!!
She keeps asking to babysit, WONT HAPPEN for ages now, had to tell her off last week for dipping the dummy in tea..grrr
Why do family think its ok to shove whatever they think is ok into our bubs mouth?? :banghead:
Charis: Thats so cute of H and his giggling at you situps! Im finding Katie laughs at me so much now too, and im really not doing anything, usually when I ask her something she breaks out into giggles  Shes even giggly when laying on matt last 3 days at what...nothing! lol Love it!
You seem much more relaxed now? and yes in time things may change but until then you are one awesome mummy doing a great job! xx

Morning all!
Hope everyone had a good weekend!
I've been a bit scarce on here as battling yet another cold!! Think X is now picking it up as he was grizzly at 2am, then 4 then 6 GRRR!! Poor guy, hope he doesn't get it as bad as me.
:hugs: To you Charis re:dp. Time may help the situation in the end!!
TABBY good on your dp for sticking up to the MIL, what a silly woman to try and give bub chocolate!! How can anyone seriously think that could be a good idea?!?!?
self settling issue, X is really good at it, but only when at home!! It makes it very hard to still go out and do things cuz he cracks it when he's tired, especially at mothers group, I have to really bounce and rock him until he finally nods off. Too much effort sometimes! Really wish he would take a dummy for these times, but still rejecting bottle and dummy. Have seen an interesting looking dummy think the brand was "mami"? Meant to feel a bit like nipple anyone tried this before?? Quite expensive, but will try anything at this point. We are leaving to go back to Canada in about 6 weeks now, so thinking a dummy will be a big help with ear pain on the plane!
CHEEKI think I forgot to say CONGRATS on the upcoming wedding!!! I think we may be like you and leave it years until we finally get round to it!
surprise surprise guess who's up, back for more later hopefully!!
have a great day all

Hi all
Haven't posted for a while - but did write a big long one last night and lost it. duh!
Strawberry - CONGRATULATIONS. That is just so exciting. There is less than 12 months between me and my sister and she is my best friend.
Tabby - So glad Katie is over her coldy and is now settled into nighttime sleeps better.
Cordelia - Like Charis, will be very interested to hear how you go on the regimented routines. I tried the Tizzy Hall routines on G and they just didn't work for me, we both ended up tired and stressed out. But, regimented routines seem to work well for my sister, cousins and some friends.
Cat - Yes, I have to be more patient and tough with settling. I have decided that half of G's problem of late is that her catnapping has meant that she is just overtired in the evening. I get her down easily, its the staying down that is my problem. Interestingly, just like you, this morning she woke up at the magic 40min mark and I was on the phone to AGL, and by the time I had finished my call, she had self settled. Also, last night, like all of last week, she has been waking up an hour after I put her to bed for nighttime, instead of caving and feeding her to sleep when this happens, I just went into her darkened room and stroked her head until she went back to sleep. It took about 5 minutes!!!
Have a great day!
E xx
Hi everyone,
had a full on weekend so no posts (again). Hamish's big brother turns 21 today so we had a family party yesterday which was pretty tiring but fun - at the local bowling club! We hardly saw Hamish all afternoon as he went from grandad to aunty to nanna to aunty, even the lady behind the bar kept coming for a cuddle as she said she was just desperate for a grandchild. H was just great and happy all afternoon but very tired by the end, the first time he's really asked for me as usually he's really contented with others, including perfect strangers! Not sure it will last though.
We've had a couple of 7 hour sleeps but not every night. He was wide awake at 3.45am this morning and after a feed took 40 minutes to settle back to sleep  very unusual though he's really into being rocked to sleep at the moment which is a bit of a backward step. Maybe I'll let him grizzle it out a bit longer as some of you guys seem to be doing.
well, nuff about me.
Congrats to Straw. amazing!!
:hugs: Charis, hopefully some clear boundaries will help your relationship and get the message across. Give us a call if you need a chat or some company. Hope those poor little fingers are ok, You'd never imagine a teddy bear would fail OHS in that way!!
Cordelia, hope your sleep routines work for you. What was the trick for the 90 minute sleep?
Tabby, the humidifier is in Cloverdale, I'll pm you with the address and get them to leave it on their porch in case they're out. I have to call to double check the street number first.
happy week all,
kxx

Hi girls
We had a busy weekend so no BH'ing for me for a few days, the break has been good as I was starting to feel like a 'puter addict again! Plus the laptop crashed and the network broke down so DH has been frantically fixing it all!
Got a few new clothes for R in the sales at Target and bought him a jolly jumper with a frame from eBay which we picked up last night. I can't wait to put him in it but he needs a bit more head control first, won't be long though.
The weather has turned cold in Melb (a high of 16'c today I think?). So I have started to "rug up" Reece for bed. Last night he had on a really thick all-in-one suit with a hood, DH said he looked like he was going skiing  Anyway, I have posted a couple of pics in our photo thread.
Charis - I have missed a few posts, but it sounds like you and DP have called it quits? :hugs: I hope you are ok.
Tabby - Hope you and K have seen the back of those colds now?
Hope everyone else is well, I will try to keep up with the thread a bit more as I feel like I am loosing touch with what's going on.
Thanks Hels, yep Katie is all back to good, mines seems to be hanging on a bit though..
The boys are off to the gp to see if indeed is rubella, dp mentioned it at work so they sent him home just incase!!!! So had no choice to go now and find out. Ive no idea what his work will do if is..if they send him home for the week (incubation period ) he only has 2 days left sickpay! We cant survive another short week after those 6 weeks job lost with $0 as well! We still trying et back on our feet with bills mounting. He doesnt even have it, she just said well you better go and find out....
off to check your pics now

Well Matt has slept throught 3 nights in a row now:smiliedance: . Hopefully he will again tonight as i am getting sick and feel like s#%t. I have just fought with him for the last hour to go to sleep, which is very unusual for him he usually goes down quite easily. so hopefully he stays that way till morning.
Well i am off to get some much needed sleep.
tabby ... i hope it's not contagious and your dh can go back to work. :hugs:
kylie ... hope you get another good night's sleep.
Josh got really confused this morning cause it was so dark here in Melbourne and he fed at 5:30am (pretty usual), but then didn't wake for his next feed til 11:50am!! He stirred at 8:30am but went back to sleep when I put his dummy in. It was great. I hope lots of stuff done. Dh has a few days off, so we're doing a few things around the house which is great. We're working on Josh's room tomorrow - it's quite disorganised at the moment and it's annoying me.

Hello everyone
Its only taken me 1 month to find this thread but here I am!!
A bit about us - DH and I met in Sep 05, got engaged in March 06, found out we were pg a month later, Macy was born 2.1.07 and we got married 31.3.07 We are now looking to buy some land for our house by the end of the year. Phew a busy 18 months!! I also have a 7yr old son that I love to bits
I posted some pics of Macy in the other thread and you can have a nosey at the rest of our family here i you like
http://www.flickr.com/photos/kpharper/sets/
Just a question for you all, how big was your bubs @ 4 months? Macy was 6kg but we always get asked if she was premmie and then when we say no, they ask if she had a low birthweight. I dont call 8lb 9oz small!! Im wondering if its just cause she is bit of a slow grower and because she has small features on her face?
Anyways, hope everyone and their bubs are happy and well.
Congratulations to Strawberry on your BFP
Tabby - I think our daughters have very similar coloured hair, hubby refuses to say its red and always calls it strawberry blonde LOL
Look forward to chatting and getting to know you better
Kelly
Congrats on the :bfp: Strawberry!
Bounty Bag...I'm with your CAt on being disappointed on the contents of the third bag. DD1's 3rd bag had heaps in it.
Cheeki....I think LillyPilly just rolls off the tounge. I have a niece, Lily and that's what she gets called.
Charis...:hugs: a big decision, but I think you'll start to feel better about it soon.
Aries...Canada, is this the 'For Good' move or just a visit?
Freddie...don't know what it is about the 3/4 am feed, TJ often takes longer to settle at this time.
Chaos reigns in our house at the moment. Thanks to daycare, TJ has decided she doesn't like sleeping for longer than 45 minutes at a time. :banghead: don't seem to be getting a break or anything done at the moment while she is asleep. DD1 was like this and I thought I'd put it behind me. Last night she settled at 9, woke at 10,2 and 6.
DD1 has had a sore vagina for a while. Have been to the doc's twice in the past week trying to figure out what it is. Have discovered it's not thrush (my initial thought) and he couldn't suggest anything else. Urine test came up clear. Am removing stuff from her diet in the hope it's something she's eating that's affecting her. If it's not one thing it's another. Just want to put it all on pause for a few days to catch up on sleep and regain enough energy to start all over again.
In-laws fly in tomorrow (Dh as well) for a week. Will no doubt get some bigger night sleeps (MIL does them for me), but often get to bed later when they are here, so it cancels itself out. Should be able to get a couple of things done for myself (visit to the Chiro desparately needed) while they are here.
Sorry for the long post. Comes form not logging in for a few days.
Take care,
Lisa
Welcome to the Jan thread KorahBlue. Sounds like a very busy 18 months. Sorry can't help with the weight of TJ at 4 months. Haven't had her weighed since our 9 week visit:rolleyes: . Will get it done again one day. I'd just ignore what anyone else says about bubs size and/or weight. As long as you feel she's growing that's the main thing.

 MOUSEBROWN: yep this is the "for good" move, it's all happening very quickly now, so in a mad rush trying to get rid of things and get house organized etc; Am really looking forward to getting back home as have been very emotionally unstable for the last 7 or so months. Hopefully we'll have another Perth catch up before I go.
Enjoy your week with your inlaws and dh home. Hope you get the much deserved extra sleep. you're not alone, we still have major sleep issues too. Good luck with dd1, hope she gets better "down there" soon....I used to get like that when little, but pretty certain it was thrush, anyway.............
welcome KORAHBLUE! glad you found our thread :)
yay to MIM1 and lukeandmatt's mum on the wicked sleeping! must be nice :p
alright i'm off to bed as still a bit sick so must catch some zzz's before x eventually wakes! nite all
Wow Mim1 that is some lengthy sleep for Josh!! WOW. he he yes sometimes I think I'll just clean up his 'room' but of course he's asleep in there..so don't.
Thanks for the thoughts about H's Dad, v sweet you all are. Had a good work/playgroup day then friends just started dropping in and ringing, must be in the air! Weirdest though H and I were out walking by the river, a dear friend called and just at the point I said Pete and I are no longer, he RODE PAST US..of course would have been more bizarre if he'd been sitting there knitting or something, as he does ride a lot, but the location and timing was v bizarre. Of course didn't stop and I doubt H recognised him. Yes the break is good, at least, if anything, can only get better from here.
Korahblue!! Welcome your little girl (and DS) and wedding are all just beautiful. WOW. Very amazing few years and months for you all. Down South? I wonder which state. Looking forward to getting to know you.
Luke+MattsMum Just WOW! GREAT GREAT. How're you feeling? Hope its me tomorrow.
MouseBrown hope DD feels and gets better. All the best for a house full of relations and DH too YAH
Aries! WOW, and WHEN!?? I did read it I am sure. Gosh will be great to be near your family and N hemisphere friends but hey we'll miss you!! And Xavier will be all rugged up in one of those amazing ski suits like Reece :)
Ok ok I'd better do the next meet soon then..okay here before they crawl :smiliedance:
Tabby, yes am more relaxed. Actually v lucky H sleeps so much during the day, can get some head space/work/cleaning which in turn makes me more relaxed. Thanks for the thoughts. and about the Chocolate, YIKES, i think your actions are completely 100% reasonable. Wow great your DH turned out so well! Hope all the symptoms go v soon!! and all well.
Hels, Reece is a beautiful ski bunny. Great about the shopping. Hope you're doing some for you too!
Freddie thanks for the thoughts too. I think all is well at the moment. I do have sad thoughts about H growing up thinking Dads aren't part of their bubs lives.. hmm will be searching for male role models high and low! Well just high really:smiliedance: The party sounded GREAT!! Oh and the lemon tree, that is so beautiful. he he, similar as I have a bamboo plant used to be v v neglected, now it gets H's daily cooled bath water and it is growing before our eyes. We check it every day. Not sure what Hunter thinks about it yet!
Oh and yes, am hearing you about the WIDE AWAKE. Hunter was awake from 2-5am! I almost still cannot believe it myself. He wasn't crying or grissly, just VERY ALERT even in the almost completely dark. Tried to feed him to sleep at 3.30 again and it almost worked but he woke from that and then was in the next 1 1/2 cycle. MY GOSH. I will dream feed him now, see if that makes a difference.

HELS - great to see you back, hope you had a nice break.
TABBY - :fingerscrossed: your boys are ok and don't have rubella.
MIM - WOW on Josh's sleep that is huge.
KORAHBLUE - Welcome look forward to hearing more from you.
MOUSEBROWN - :hugs: hopefully bubs will fall in a better sleeping pattern soon. i know how it feels DS1 was like this and i got nothing down. By the time you get them to sleep you just want a bit of time to yourself and then next thing you know they are awake again. Hope DD1 gets better soon. Does she use soap in the bath? Maybe this is irritating her. Just a thought.
ARIES - Good luck for the big move. Hopefully you can still keep in contact with us over there.
CHARIS - Matt decided to sleep through just as i got sick, so i still haven't been sleeping that well:banghead: The first night he did it i woke with rock hard(.)(.) i had to get up and express because he still hadn't woken. The next morning i woke to a nice wet patch on my jammies because my breast pad had moved and a leaked everywhere. Jeez ya can't win can you.
Better go and get ready for the day.
Freddie: big congrats on the sons 21st.
Hope the 7 hr sleeps are a sign your closer to more and longer.
Have pmed back
Hels: mil asked about a jumper last week so hopefully will buy, we have to get K lots of clothes this week instead! Shes bursted out of the 000 and into 00 out of no-where, they were fine last week lol.
lukeandmattsmum: Hope you had another all night? and got a good rest your self.
mim: thanks, The gp they saw is our usual's replacement as hes on hols and i KNEW i shouldnt have sent them there, he says "its just a rash" for goodness sake I know what just a rash looks like!!! and this isnt one..no explanation for it when asked reply was "it happens and should be gone in a week" :banghead:
So hard to find a good gp!
YAY for your lovely sleep! fingers crossed theres more.
korahblue (http://bubhub.com.au/community/forums/member.php?u=17036) welcome! Look forward to getting to know yous, cant comment weight as havnt had K weighed since umm 13 weeks? anyway she was 3 weeks prem and is a littlie so wouldnt compare :D
Great advice from Mousebrown regards weight and fully agree.
Aries_moon: Oh how am going to miss you and x!! But know how much the move home means to you and am happy as for you all!!! xxx
A Perth meet before you go is a must I say!
Mouse: Hope DD is better soon.
I hope you get the much needed sleep catch up while il's there.
Charis: Agree regards male role models, am sure can find some great ones! For ds2 it worked better for him to have stable role models than a dad who was rather hmm whats a good word erratic? in and out of his life..but thats us, totally different scenario. long story but ds2 hasnt seen his for 4-5 yrs! I had had enough and I told him your either in or out and to stop leaving months and months between visits/calls and sadly he obviously chose out.
DS2 has improved since, much more stable and it shows. DP is a great role model! They are more like mates than anything.
Hope things work out well for you both yous deserve it xx
welcome korahblue, hope you enjoy your chats with us here. Speaking for myself, our on-line mothers' group is just great and so helpful through our bubby trials and tribulations.
well Charis, looks like you're dobbed in for a Perth meet pretty soon! Looking forward to checking out your funky warehouse!
Thanks for the pm Tabby, hope its ok and hope you sort the rash thing out. Also Mouse, hope you can sort out your DS1s problem and get some well deserved sleep, you're such a superwoman.
not much to report this morning, Hamish was very grizzly and took ages to get to sleep after a second morning feed within 2 hours... It would be a miracle if he had another 2 hours this morning but I'm not holding my breath.
well I feel like vegging out but there's stuff to be done so will catch you all later.
kx
Hi ladies.
Cat - Hmmmm self settling. I agree it is so hard to listen to them cry. I just put Kelsey down after some quiet time. She sort of moans and grizzles to sleep - sort of like her mantra but if she really get motoring and cries loudly I go in and give a few pats to settle and then leave. If that doesn't work I pick her up and offer a boobie to calm down and start over again. But so what if you rock C to sleep - he is you bubby and it is your choice. We rocked DS to sleep until he was 7-8 months old and it didn't hurt him. Kelsey has had to learn to self settle as I don't have the time to rock her as I have to look after DS too.
Tabby - OMG chocolate??? Your MIL is so naughty and choc milk for a 3 month old?? Whoa - glad you stuck to your guns and DP stood up for you too!!
Charis - Laughed about your sit up story. kelsey also sits on my belly when I do sit ups and laughs alot.
Korahblue - welcome and look forward to chatting
Cheeki - I get what you are saying about mothers and sons. I have a VERY strong bond with my DS but at the same time I also feel very connected to Kelsey as she will be a woman too when she's all grown up.
I can hear my girl calling out but just wanted to say she finally rolled over yesterday for the first time. :smiliedance: She is such a relaxed little girl I thought it was never going to happen. Unfortunately this developmental milestone has been accompanied by some difficulties in getting her to sleep. She is usually so easy to put to bed but has been a right pain yesterday and today - heres hoping it passes soon!!!
Now I remember why I try not to skip a day....so may posts to catch up on!
Welcome Korahblue  . Cameron weighed 6.2kg (dressed) at 4 months (only 2.8kg at birth & that was 11 days overdue!). He's not the biggest bub but not the smallest either. He's happy & healthy and I'm not phased about how big or small anyone else thinks he looks. I'm a shorty and DH is no giant so wouldn't expect C to be very big anyway.
Thanks Tabby, Mim, Charis & others responding to my post about C self-settling. It's very hit and miss and I think it really depends on me getting the timing right like Mim said. I put him down in his cot for most naps now to give him the chance to self settle but if it doesn't work I'm not fussed & try something else. Lucky usually doesn't take too long unless he's way way overtired - I think the change of situation from cot to pram/sling/booby is enough to temporarily distract him from his grizzles so he can relax and drift off. It's all trial and error but at least these days it doesn't upset me like it used to. I'm so much more relaxed and feeling quite content with my lot in life at the moment and really enjoying being Cameron's mummy.
Following Charis's lead, cute stuff that C is doing at the moment is his little bum dance when he's put down for nappy free time. He gives the cheekiest grin and I sing a little 'wiggle that bum, wiggle that bum' song as he lifts it up of the mat and wiggles it from side to side. Not so helpful on the change table when I'm trying to put a nappy on but still makes me laugh.
Flicka - hope the colds are better and that u can still make my morning tea on Thurs. Can share settling and milestone stories in person!
Could write lots more personals but would be here all day but just want you all to know I do read everyone's posts with genuine interest/concern/empathy (as the case may be!) even if I don't always manage personal replies/commments. I think u r all great :hugs:

hi all
we had a good trip to perth. the wedding was good. Ashton was fantastic the whole time and was excellent travelling in the car aswell. i thought it would be a nightmare but they were all good
congratulations to strawberry on your bfp
Kohrablue - sorry if i spelt that wrong. welcome your bub has the same birthday as my 2yr old son.
not much happening here just exhausted from the quick trip to perth and unpacking everything.
korahblue ... 6kg at 4 months is average - right on the 50th percentile for girls --> http://www.health.vic.gov.au/childhealthrecord/growth_details/chart_girls3.htm
It just shows that people don't really have a good concept of what size/weight is normal at different ages. My friend has a little girl who weighed 5.9kg at 6 months, so she was pretty shocked when I said that my son weighed 7kg at his 4 month check up - that girl is 4 months older than him now, but I suspect he weighs more than she does even now.

Thanks for the welcome everyone and your lovely comments :D
Im not overly worried about DD's size, I know she is happy and healthy. It was more out of interest to compare what she was like with other bubs.
It does annoy me though [i shouldnt let it get to me i know] when strangers feel they have the right to pass comment on her and i feel like i have to justify her size to everyone. Same as when people comment on her hair colour with things like 'oh no you'd better watch out she doesnt get the red headed temper'. Seriously, wtf would they know?
Oh dear, vent over, time to build a bridge
Charis - we are down south of adelaide
Any fellow sth australians here?
If you know of anyone who would be interested in some pink sleeping bags/romper suits for their bubs PM me. They are Marks & Spencer and Paddington bear brand I think. From size 00 and up in excellent condition. I dont like pink so Macy will never use them. Im happy to post them if you just want to pay for postage
Time to put Macy down for a nap and try get some study done. Her lovely daddy has shared his cold with her so she is rather sleepy today

Firstly, welcome to korahblue, Can also completely relate to people making comments about bub. I really dont understand why people always have to make some judgement. The are so little, so skinny, so chubby? You can never win. Look forward to getting to know you better.
Hels- I love the picture of Reece all rugged up. Being also from Melbourne it was like looking in the mirror when I send my three of to bed. Too cute.
Flicka- Yey for the rolling. Still not to be seen here yet!!!!! Hope the sleep thing has improved again.
Cheeki - You really got me thinking. When I only had the boys I got so sick of people telling me how I should have another to try and get a girl because they are so more special etc and the bond is so much more. :ecomcity: It used to really annoy me. My boys are so cuddly and gorgeous and I have the most amazing bond with them. I never felt like I was missing out on anything. I hope its the same with my daughter as well. But I wouldnt change my boys for anything. I think when they are older it will probably be a little different though. If you notice everyone seems to have problems with the mother in law. We will be that one day. I think mums are more protective of ther Boys. OMG I cant believe I am thinking about being a MIL one day. I'll be interested to see what everyone else thinks.
Have a good day all.

Cheeki - Sounds like it was really hard for you. I can only imagine what you went through with DD10. I hope all your hard work is rewarded with DD10. I also hope it continues to be so wonderful for you with the boys. Like all your children they are lucky to have you as there mum. I am sure with Lily it will be a easier role to continue on with as you have already started to establish a magnificent bond. :hugs:

Korahblue – and welcome, looking forward to chatting to you. Your wedding anniversary is on the same day as mine, we eloped in 05. My son Talon was 7.8kg at 4 months. Every bub is different.
Flicka - :smiliedance: for the rolling.
Not much is happening here. I haven’t been feeling the best today, maybe the morning sickness starting. T has cut another toothy peg. He’s been chewing on rusks and he’s teething ring today. I brought Talon a walker the other day and he absolutely loves it. I have posted some pics of him in it. Take a look at the last pic. T is really holding on to the steering wheel and was moving it. He also had the noises to go with it lol

Hey all,
Strawberry - Congrats!!! Thats lovely!! And you said you werent even ttc....this baby is meant to be!!!
Sorry no other Personals...so much to catch up on!!
Jett is much better...thnks for the :hugs: , it was just side effects from the needle i think!!
He is still waking up 2-3 times at night for a feed which is frustrating as he was sleeping through for a while there!!
Tonight i managed to get in an extra bottle and kept him up to 7.30 so hopefully that will make a difference.
Not sure what the next step is...should i just refuse feeds during the night!??
My daughter never slept for more than an hour at a time until she was two.!! So im not used to all this!!
Jett is drooling every where and getting very frustrated with his gums. I found that little contrapction that you put fresh food into the mesh great...he loves to chew on cold apple!
I cant seem to get him to have longer sleeps during the day either...he has a few cat naps but i just wish he would put them all together andhave one decent sleep and give mummy some time to get things done!! LOL
No decisions made on the whole embryo debate yet, think hubbys avoiding the whole messy topic. He has decdied that 2 kids is enough , yet i still yearn for one more.........maybe I will just have to :fingerscrossed: that it happens natrually!!!

wow! I haven't been on this thread for quite a long while and I can't believe how big everyones bubs have gotten, I love everyones avatars:D
Cooper is 4 1/2 months now and weighs 9 kgs:eek: He's such a big boy! He's so lovely, smiles and laughs all day. He rolled for the first time 3 days before he turned 4 months. He is sleeping a lot better now too. From about 8pm til 5 - 5.30am.
Congrats Strawberry_Shortcake on the :bfp: I hope morning sickness doesn't get too bad:fingerscrossed:
Victoria: I too over the yrs was always asked if I wished Ide had a girl. I was a single mum through most of their lives and the bond we share is amazing! I never felt I was missing anything either. Even ds1 who is 25 we are still very close and have a special bond. I can only hope that the bond / closeness I share with dd is the same.
mil, No way will I be like mine and give cr@p to my grandkids, my mother never did so cant understand why il thinks she can..Ill be doing all the things mine hasnt! Ring to say hello, offer to help out, offer to go out for the day together etc etc.
Havnt really put much thought into it, ds1 is 25 and not even a gf, hes too interested work/mates/travel, which is great!
Katie slept heaps yesterday, a 1hr nap and 2 x 3 hrs! Shes playing up at the moment though trying to get her nap so better go

Hi everyone
Just a quick one as Sierra is waiting for a feed.
Went to the CHN yesterday and Sierra is 5.6kg & 61.5 cm. Not too bad, still on the smallish side but the CHN said she was happy with that cos shes put on 1.2kg in 2 months. Gave Sierra some pear yesterday instead of apple and she loved it. Had four teaspoons all up, so thats good. Shes getting the hang of it. Think the apple was abit sour tasting for her to start with.
Better go feed Sierra before she gets upset with me, will catch up & do personals a bit later.
I think little boys can be just as sweet (or sweeter) than little girls. Was 6 when my brother was born and was a bit of a second mum to him. I remember walking him to class when he started school & he'd give me a kiss on the cheek. And I know my mum has an extra soft spot for him. Don't know if it's because he's the only boy or being the youngest but at the age of 25 and just moved out of home, she is still paying his mobile phone bill & doing his washing with a smile.
When I was little and got a newborn baby doll I insisted on a boy one (anatomically correct!). Maybe a premonition? We didn't find out what we were having and before conceiving I thought a girl first might be nice but as soon as I knew I was pregnant I had the strongest feeling it was a boy. Guess I had a 50% chance of being right LOL.
C has started giving himself hickies on his wrist!! He holds his right wrist into his mouth with his left hand and sucks away. Thumb mustn't have been juicy enough. Just a little bruise for now but if he keeps it up I'm worried his whole wrist will be black & blue!
Hope you are feeling better strawberry & morning sickness not too bad. How were you with it the first time around?

the last three nights have been GREAT!!! G has slept from 7pm-6am, with a quick feed before I go to bed at 11pm, and last night the 11pm feed was even quicker. :fingerscrossed: that 3 nights in a row is the beginning of more good sleeps....gee i feel soooo much better having better sleep myself. also then he feeds at 6am and goes back to sleep till 9am. YAY!!!
on the other hand, G has got a slight cold, bit snuffly and coughing, hoping that its not just his cold making him sleep...lol
Hope the spa treatment lifts the spirits cheeki. I'm very jealous. Really need to see a hairdresser - haven't even had a trim since about 4 months pg!
I'll do my best to be a good MIL but can now see how hard it could be - just have to hope we raise them with enough good judgement to choose someone that will support them & make them happy. And if not, guess we have to be supportive anyway and be there for when it all goes pearshaped. Probably goes for everything - choices they make about friends, alcohol, drugs. Oh lordy, thank god he's still only 4 months old. Probably won't know the half of what he ends up getting up to - I know my parents don't! :o
:yelclap: for the good sleeps jacstar - hope they continue (and hope they return here too!)
I just realized by my desktop counter that Katie is 5 months now!!!!
jacstar: Hope thats the start of many great nights for you :fingerscrossed:
cheeki: :hugs: hope the down feeling doesnt last long whatever its from. Lucky you with the spa etc!
Im the same, no hairdresser since before preggers and boy does it show LOL. If worst comes to worst and not done before then the tax cheque of DP's will have to nab some.

Yeah Talon is 5 months too. How time flys hey Vicki.
Jacstar – Yay for G. Great sleeping times. Lets hope it continues for you. T does that almost every night.
Cheeki – You lucky duck regarding the spa treatment..
Cat13 – Didn’t have much morning sickness with T, so far haven’t had any. Just feeling very tired. But thats my fault cause i never get to bed before 11pm.
Hi-ya Girlies,
Luke&MattsMum...no soap in the bath. DD1 seems to be getting better since her diet has changed. Will just have to figure out what it was once everythings back to normal.
Tabby...LOL at Katie bursting out of her clothes. TJ is doing this at the moment too, both length wise and her chubby bubby bits.
Cat...LOL at the wiggling bum. TJ does this at bath time.
KorahBlue...I'm not a Pink person either, for DD1 I refused to buy pink clothes. My mum continually bought them just to annoy me. Now DD1 loves pink, will choose it over any other colour. Have caved in with TJ, figure I'm fighting a no-win battle.
Cr@ppy night with the girls last night. MIL will probably take over tonight, so looking forward to a decent length sleep.
Charis, time to get moving (set a date) on the next Perth meet, I think we would all like to catch up with Aries one last time before she goes. Mondays and Tuesdays are good for me.
Have a great day!
Lisa
the last three nights have been GREAT!!! YAY!!!
on the other hand, G has got a slight cold, bit snuffly and coughing, hoping that its not just his cold making him sleep...lol
jacstar, great sleeps. what is 'quick' for you? Hamish's night feeds would be looooong if it was up to him but I limit him to 10 mins each side. Maybe I could reduce it even more as I'm sure he gets what he needs in the first few minutes. Hamish slept 7 - 6.30 last night but was up at 10, 1 and 5. sigh.....

Doesnt it make so much difference when you get a decent sleep  Hopefully they keep going for you
I should be doing the dishes but Im very slack in that department, I'll do everything else first. I should just do them and get them out the way. My excuse is that I have to go pick Jozef up from school in 10 minutes so i wont be able to finish them in time LOL poor excuse!!
Macy is calling to be rescued from her Jolly Jumper so will unhitch her and go get her brother. Might even walk there seeing as its a half decent day for the first time this week

I just got home from Mother's group, it was alot better this week so I'm glad I went. This was our last meet but next week we are going to meet at one of the other girl's house so I will go along as I'd like to try to get to know them all better.
Reece also had his 4 mth appt today, he weighs just under 7kg and is 61cm, he's doing really well.
I heard back from Melb IVF this week and they have said we can use the same sperm donor when we are ready to TTC again :smiliedance: Not sure if it will be IVF this time or insemination again, but I have to ring them to find out when we are ready to start.
I have also taken out private health insurance now because I am having a caesar next time in a private hospital, we have to wait 12 mths but that should work out ok.
Anyone know if huggies bulk packs are on special anywhere this week? I missed out on getting some from Coles last week :banghead:
hels ... they are on special at toysrus if that's any help for you. :smiliedance: about the same sperm donor for next time.
cheeki ... sorry to hear the twins are sick - hope they feel better soon.
haircut - what's that? Can't remember when I last had one.
freddie ... josh's feed length varies greatly. Today he's been happy with 12 - 15 minutes in total, but for the last few weeks he wanted 20 - 25 minutes in total. It was 10 - 15 minutes for a while there earlier. Am I making sense? If I'm in a hurry or he's tired I swap sides after 5 minutes, then offer him each side twice if he wants it ... sometimes he does and sometimes he doesn't.
he's grizzling and needs bed I think ... better go

Hels Big W has bulk huggies nappies on special this week. They were around $27 for a box.

Well, those of you who were wonderng about the "contented little baby" routine I tried.. I threw it in the bin yesterday morning. I let her sleep til 10am, I fed her before 4 hours was up and I bathed her AFTER her dinner. So I would get a huge slap on the wrist from Ms. Gina Ford.
A couple of things tho-
a) I realised that Caitlin already had her own routine that I was so stupid not to realise
b) Caitlin can last longer between feeds than I think
c) Caitlin is able to sleep 2 hours in the day
d) It's nice to have little routines - like sit in the high chair after lunch while I clean up, have some nappy free time in front of the fire b4 the bath etc.
Meanwhile: *chucks the stupid book out*
yes! definitely a Perth meet to say goodbye to xavier! (oh and aries...!) Hope it's ok for Charis to host it?
MIL - you all know what I think of MY mil! It's nice to say that you would be the most wonderful MIL but when it comes to your child being swept off their feet by someone who isn't good enough (will anyone be good enough?) I can see it being difficult to be civil. I guess that's part of loving your child though....letting go and letting them make their own decisions. I think I have a while b4 I need to think abotu that :P
$27 is cheap! We still have 6 boxes of crawlers that we haven't started.... she really has slowed down in the gaining weight dept... we've just reached 5kgs at 5 months. Maybe the solids will boost things up - which are going very well!!!

Hels - That is fantastic news about the donor.:smiliedance: . Good Luck.
Cheeki - Hope that the twins are doing better and you got some sleep last night. Hope you are feeling a bit better also. Take care.
Strawberry - I am off to BigW. Thanks heaps. That is really a good price.
Cordelia - Sounds like you have done the right thing for you. Good on you getting rid of the book. Hope it all keeps on getting better for you.
Us - we had the big weigh in. She is exactly 6kg at 4 months. I am so HAPPY with that. Especially after all the problems we had. They are finally of my case. :fingerscrossed: it stays this way. It looks like she is going to be tall as well. She was only 49 cm at birth and she is already 62cm. So thats a big jump. Mind you her dad is 6ft 2 so no suprise. Her brothers are on the 95th percentile for height as well. Will wait and see. She is still waking at night for 1 feed. the only thing is its all over the place. LAst night it was 1. The night before 4.ooam. You just never know. That gets a bit annoying. We will get there though. Anyway enough about us. Have a great day.
Victoria: Thats wonderful news YAY for the lovely weight gain.
Cordelia: Agree with Victoria, hope the routine is now working well.
Hels: Good news on the donor! Nice to hear the mothers group went well and nice that yous are all going to keep in touch, should be good.
cheeki: :hugs::hugs: Hugs for both, hope its not too bad or too long. Agree the hairdressers, soooooo expensive! Would definitely get there more often if not so bad.
korahblue: Thanks for the outfits! Cant wait to get them, at the moment have Katie in what I consider crappy stuff lol. One is even a boys jump suit with cars! Shopping Saturday as well though to get some pretty pink ones YAY!
Freddie: Sorry to hear of the frequent wakes, hope it improves soon for you.
mousebrown: lol yep those chubby bits, I was looking at the top of Katies legs in the bath last night and thought, yep this is the only time youll be encouraged and told they are cute sweety so make the most of em
Strawberry: HAPPY 5 MONTHS for Talon xxx!!
Nothing much new here, all through again, love it! Lots of new noises here, very LOUD and sometimes even grumpy lol. She was standing on my lap yesterday and proceeded to growl till red in the face and throw her arms down and went all stiff all the time looking me in the eye and GROWLING loudly, was hilarious!!!!!!
Better go shes calling me, before I get growled at again!

Cheeki - have you tried demazin infant syrup. Its formulated slightly differently and I find it works better with Macy than Dimetapp.
Hubby and I were having a good laugh at the package last night as it had the standard - this medication may make you drowzy. If affected do not operate machinery or drive. Hahahaha as if a baby would be doing that anyways
Tabby - no probles about the outfits. Im glad the pink is out of my house. DH aunty gave them to us along with some hand made fluorescent coathangers which are just awful. Bad colours, lace and flowers just arent my cup of tea. Apparently thats all she does in her spare time
Victoria - Go the 6kg @ 4mths. Thats what Macy was so I say its a great weight!!
Cordelia - Im glad you threw that book out. I dont see how every baby can be expected to have the same routine! Have you tried keeping a diary for a couple of weeks for Caitlin? That might help you recognise any patterns and see if she does have more of her own routine.
Well im feeling a bit sad today. Macy is off to her first session at child care today. Im going back to work part time next month and then full time at the end of july, so i thought it best to give her a few sessions before hand to get used to it. Its a great centre, my son has been going there for over 5 years but Im still going to miss her terribly even though its only a few hours. I have saved all the housework to do this afternoon to keep me busy so hopefully i wont think about her too much
Have a great day everyone
Tabby...Lol, there's nothing wrong with blue suits with cars on them. TJ (and now Caitlyn) has a number of them. And when it comes to buying tshirts as bub grows, the boys ones are cheaper than the girls ones. I used to buy the boys ones for DD1 for daycare. She also proudly picked out a Bob the Builder t-shirt once and at the moment she wants spiderman stuff.
Cr@ppy night last night. If it wasn't one child up, it was the other. TJ has another cold, so she was up at 10.15, 2.15 then 4.15.
Good sleep vibes for tonight,
Lisa
I've only ever written a few posts I'm more of a reader I think I need to communicate more with people above the age of 4 months. :)
I can't believe how quickly my baby has grown up and big and tall he is now. It's amazing how much they change and develop in a few months even a few days. Soon he'll be into everything! As much as I don't want him to grow up I can't wait till he's moving around.
He likes his tummy more now compared to they days when he'd scream as soon as I'd put him that way. It's hard to keep him occupied for long enough on his back now.
Anyways like everyone else I use all my spare time sitting at the computer and should probably be doing washing or some other task around the house while hes sleeping..
Mouse: lol Am sure if shes anything like Mum she will be in boys clothes eventually for the climbing of the trees and digging in the garden with cars. So would like to make the most of a real little girl while I can is all :D .
Sorry to hear TJ has another cold, Hope she recovers quickly and you get better nights that what you've been getting lately:hugs:
mummymo: Oh yes time has flown! The changes daily are amazing, Katie seems to find a new sounds every day lately
I agree how its getting harder to entertain, have you got a jolly jumper? I have to get one real soon, have heard how great they are and am sure will get us some time out while they bounce away.
Look forward to seeing more of you
Hmm...if I have a girl next she is going to wearing a few boyish clothes. No point buying all new clothes all over again. I'm another one who's not a big pink person either.
Just finished tidying up after my little Biggest Morning Tea this morning (and after finally getting C to settle after all the excitement). For me it was mostly about having a fun get together but managed to raise $30 in the process.
Ended up being only 4 mums & 5 kids but that was probably enough. Any more & it could have been complete chaos LOL. Finally got to meet Flick & just wanted to let everyone know how delightful Josh & Kelsey are. We didn't think of taking a photo to post until too late but hopefully there'll be more opportunities. Shame there aren't more Townsville mummies on here. Perth seems to be the biggest meet - if we ever make it back there for a visit (maybe next year - a possible wedding and should really visit DH's mum) I'll have to crash one of your get togethers.
Mummymo - good to hear from you. Somedays when I have heaps that really can't be put off any longer I have to ban myself from turning the computer on until it's all finished. Bub Hub is my reward :D
Korahblue - hope Macy's first day at childcare went well & that not too sad & quiet without her.
Took me a while to realise too Cordelia that we actually do have a routine of sorts, all without any book. Haven't consulted my books at all in ages and feeling much better for it.
Victoria - our nightwaking is all over the place too. Sometime up to 2 or 3 times and sometimes not at all and at all different times. Can't even enjoy the not at all nights because I still wake and the (.)(.) still fill up just in case!
That's me for now, might go indulge in some morning tea leftovers!

Cheeki - They are on special for the week. I was in there on Monday and ducked in again today to get a box.
Cheers Kel
hi!!
Arh the Contented Baby Regime yes.. I was originally going to write that I considered it one of the most ridiculous books, but then thought I shouldm't be judgemental and it must work for someone..it is a bestseller..But great about binning it!! I agree have never before read such garbage, Good on you Cordelia for knowing your gorgeous C and your own routine. The tone is v extreme isn't it. The Helping Your Baby Sleep book takes the mickey describing some books that tell you at what time bub will vomit up and what you'll be wearing at the time!! :)
H had his 4month shots yesterday and has been a sickie one since. All hot and uncomfy, well am sure thats what the "mmmmmmm mmm " means. Oh so sad when they are sick. So lots of 'drinks' and sleep for him.
Korahblue v funny about the operation of heavy machinery:laughing:
Cheeki28 gosh how awful for you and Z-bum abt the vomit incident. awful to find him like that, but thank goodness all fine!
Hels + Family WOOHOO that is v exciting about Reece being a big brother at some stage soon :smiliedance:
Cat13 great about meeting up with Mim1+Flicka, yah! Also for holding a big morning tea. Oh and of course meeting Josh + Kelsey.
Oh yes..and have been txting Aries I think there is a Monday 11th June when she'll still be here..and before our bubs will all be crawling in my most un-crawl comfy place. Will PM all Perthies soon. (Cat13 yah for sure visit when you're next over!!)
Sicky hot boy just feeding himself to sleep, will make late work call now, to resign from 1 of the jobs I'm running :yelclap:

chat chat chat - is that all you ladies do in here  i leave the room for a few days and there are sooo many pages .. i have been mainly in the nappy swap section and the reflux section and forgetting to pop into here... please forgive me :D *bowing for forgiveness *
finalcountdown - how are you going with regards to the night feeds now - my bubs was sleeping thru since 3 weeks and than about a month ago - started waking everysecond night until it was every night- waking for a feed any where from 3-4 times a night - i just kept feeding her - figured if she was waking she must be hungry - she has just started to sleep thru again - thank goodness... (mind you she was very small compared to most the babies in here - so i figured she must need it )
hels - congrats on the donor news ... that would make you very happy i imagine ...
victoria - great news about the weight gain - my bubs was weighed at 4 months and still under 5 kilos - she just was loosing weight ..
charis - just wanted to send :hugs: to you and h and to let you know i think you are doing a great job and you have a fantastic attitude towards everthing...
cheeki - i know what you mean about bubs and the bottle - my bubs is being breast feed again and coz of the weight lost has to have the comp feeds after - and you would swear that she was being murdered when i try to burp her ... she would much rather the belly ache then to actually burp .. lol
korahblue - welcome - i think your bubs weight is great - i wish we could get to that range ...
and with the haircut - i hadn't had one in over a year - but i thought i better spend the hard earnt cash as we have the baptism on saturday night and my hair was so sad... and i had to get my monobrow (so dh calls it lol ) done as well - lmao....
flinka - congrats on bubs rolling - i keep forgetting and go to leave bubs on the bed and then i have to run back to the other end of the house as we have a fluffy doona and need to pick her up so she doesn't smother herself sometimes she is still to young to keep her head lifted ... i really have to remember - as i dread to think what might happen..
us - well for those that followed us last week .. we really went down hill over the week end and it was so bad that i was tempted to take her to the emergency room ..... we think we are sorted now - well for the time being - and she has even managed to get back on the boobies again ..:smiliedance: she went off them for about a week - only having one breastfeed a day -today though she has had four breast feeds ... mind you she is only having four minutes aside - but still better than nothing - .... and she has stopped screaming for the time being and the acid rise has seemed to stop for the time being - she has been laughing and blowing rasberries - which she starts laughing at ...so cute ... the boys have been talking to her a lot and she talks back now ... she started doing the dadadada thing...... she is getting very vocal...
sleep dreams to all

cheeki - i know it can be so disheartening with the breastfeeding - what i found with my bubs - as she went completely off the breast - for a couple of days my supply went south .... but as she is dairy free baby - she was also getting upset on her special forumla - so i figured that breast feeding wasn't her issue .... but she still refused the breast - ... so i was offering the breast (which she wouldn't take ) and then giving her the bottle anyway ... but when i put her down for her nap - when she was about 1/2 to an hour into the nap i would get her out - and trying not to wake her - put her back on the breast .... now they are best buddies again .. - i love it when she is on the bed - i show her a boobie and she starts laughing .... for me i just couldn't give that up .... something hubby can't do :D
and i think you have done a great job when you said you were breast feeding in the first place - it is so hard feeding one - let alone two

Cordelia - very mean of me to say, but am glad the strict routines didn't work for you either. Makes me feel like less of a failure! I totally agree with you, when I tried it, it was actually a good learning experience - and I learned essentially the same lessons as you.
Hi Korahblue welcome to the thread.
Congratulations on the positive donor news Hels.
Us - We had 4 month needles the other day. Good news is that I didn't cry this time. Bad news was that G presented with a fever 24 hours later, just like last time. But she seems pretty happy today (evidenced by her "singing" away at 5.00am this morning) LOL.
Hope everyone else is well.

Freddie - quick feeds for me is about 5 mins on each side, although one side is generally longer say about 7-8mins and other side about 3-4mins. but the 'quickest' feed at 11pm has been about 5mins, just on one side and straight back to sleep, which is a great sign that he should be getting out of that feed :fingerscrossed:
Geoffrey has been a bit unsettled the last couple of nights - mainly due to his cold, very stuffed up and coughing. I gave him some panadol last night, much to DH disgust, he is a naturopath and we haven't given G any medicine whatsoever, so he thinks it won't do anything, I don't know whether it did, but it made me feel better giving him something as I do think he was feeling miserable.
:smiliedance: I got a full nights sleep last night. MIL fed TJ, who only woke at 4.30 after going to bed at 8.30. DD1 slept through so didn't even have to get up to her.
Off to the Chiro tomorrow, so that should make me feel better too.
Sorry, no personals today.
Have a great weekend,
Lisa

:smiliedance: on the full nights sleep MOUSEBROWN! that must feel amazing!
CORDELIA nice one throwing out the book! I think i'm about to do the same with my baby whisperer book! All good in theory, but not in practise as far as we're concerned, and yes like your Caitlin, Xavier has his own sort of routine (well something that closely resembles one, give or take a few hours!)
:hugs: to the bubs who've just had needles....2 weeks to go for us, going to make DF take a flexi day so he can come with.
HELS such great news about the donor, i'm sure that means alot to you and your dh!!
our big issue over the past couple days is what I suspect is teething! I'm not sure obviously as i've never been thorugh this before. He is hardly feeding at all in the day for example this morning he woke at 3:45 am had a 10 min feed (usual time) then didn't have another feed until 10am this morning and only for 5 mins!!! How is he not starving?!?!? This is about the 3rd day in a row now he's refusing feeds. When it seems like he's due a feed, i stick him on, he immediately comes off, starts to whinge and shoves his fist in his mouth!! I can feel lumps but can't tell if there's actually teeth coming through, have given him bonjela and panadol when he's been frantic but doesn't make him want to feed still. I'm feeling very clueless, has anyone else had this going on??
hope we're all enjoying our friday. I have yet to do the shopping as we're having a bbq here sun. for df's 25th bday (was yesterday). Not really looking forward to all the prep. and clean up etc; but figure I owe it to him as his bday last year I ruined our plans by ending up in hosp. and finding out we were pg with Xavier!!
anyhoo have a great one
 Girls
Just got back....
I was in SA for nearly 5 weeks! and how Billy has grown. I will not even start to catch up on all the posts I missed but bet all bubs are growing so quickly.
It was a 7 hour drive from Coober Pedy (SA) to Alice Springs (NT) so we stayed overnight in Kulgera to break the trip both ways.
Billy was excellent apart from the occassional whinge for the dummy (which is pretty tricky when driving!)
I put on 4 kg while away  and x DH still hasn't sorted out what he is doing. I think he thought I would be ok and get back together, but no that will not happen. So he has sorted out some temporary accommodation for the next few nights, he is threatening to chuck in his job and leave Alice Springs. At this point in time I really don't care whether he is here or not..I was very apprehensive to come home but I start work again in 2 weeks time. I actually need to make an appointment with a lawyer and take over the house and mortage (if I can) so I have all that to look forward to.
Anyhow...great to be back on BH and looking forward to reading about our beautiful babies ways:wizard:

Heavens above Aries you and X seem to have gone from one extreme to the other - feeding hourly to six hourly. They sure are strange creatures aren't they! I like you wouldn't have a clue whether or not that is a sympton of teething. Maybe one of the more experienced mums like Cheeki , Flickaor Tabby might know?
Good to see you back Karrina.
Welcome back Karrina!
If you read back thru posts I'm sure you will see we have all been wondering about you and hoping you are ok! I hope XDH is amicable for the kids sake thru this rough time. How is your DD coping with Dad not being around?
Yes all the bubs are changing so quickly right now.
M decided he can do cartwheels around the playmat today but won't roll completely as he still isn't a massive fan of tummy time.
Aries, could you be ovulating, causing milk to taste different? Otherwise X is a healthy size so I would just continue offering the boob 4-5 times a day as you have been. As long as nappies are wet he isn't getting dehydrated.

:smiliedance: so great to hear from you again Karrina!! welcome back!
SAMMYG- yep have wondered to myself if I could be ovulating, but I honestly have no idea how to tell!! Am kind of hoping that's the case, as would like AF to return so can maybe TTC:eek: , yep I may be crazy!! lol we'll see what happens
Just a quick one for Aries while Katie naps.
Katie has been like that ALL today as well and this is bottle fed! She hasnt had hardly any bottle and only this last one of 150mils at 4pm was only one finished (others were 50mils or so ), shes also been fiddle farting around and grizzling while trying to drink and keeps coming of the teat to cry/grizzle. My assumption for Katie is her teeth as shes also looks like shes grinding her gums - if that makes sense - and more dribbling and grizzly that usual.
I actually gave her some custard for lunch as her feeds were so small and she seemed hungry, yep she polished off half a tin!
I find the bonjela / panadol dont help Katie much teething either.
Did you try the bonjela before putting to boobie?
Can you see the whites of the teeth inside the gums on his lower gum? and if so are they close to the top?
Have you a teething ring you could try to soothe?
Unfortunately teething is very hard to recognize and the signs are similar to other things like colds/flus and really cant tell till they are out. :banghead:
Just keep a eye nappies for wetness to make sure hes getting enough and hope he starts feeding better soon xx
Welcome back Karrina!!!! Look forward to catching up again. :hugs:

25-05-2007, 18:21
thanks Tabby, glad i'm not suffering alone!!
Yep I put the bonjela on before boobie, but he seems to lick it all of my finger before it even gets over his gums! lol I really think it must be teeth, looks kinda white and lumpy, but will only know i guess when it's through!!
He just finished a fairly decent feed just now, so that's only 2.5 feeds the whole day really, but he seems happy enough and sleeps fine so ya............again, where's my baby manual???
well i'm off to make dinner for myself, DF is out with work mates as he resigned today!! lucky me found 3 bacardi breezers in the depths of the cupboard so I have a nice cold pineapple one to enjoy once Xman goes to bed!! oh ya!! lol

Welcome back Karrina. We all missed ya :hugs: .
Tabby and Aries – I know how you both feel with the teething business. T was fussing and cranky while I was trying to feed him tonight ( and being overtired doesn’t help). I have a teething ring in the freezer and some teething rusks when I know he’s teeth are giving him grieve. He chews on them for awhile. T’s 2 teeth are through the gum. Slowing coming up. I know its frustrating but we just have to be there and give them plenty of cuddles and kisses to make it all better for them. I hate seeing my little boy going through the pain.
Kel
Hi ladies - have been busy the last couple of days and had so much to catch up on.
Had a lovely morning tea with Cat yesterday. Was so lovely to meet her and Cameron finally. I made cake which I dropped just as I got out of the car so it sort of imploded on itself!!! Poor Cat probably had to vacuum her house after we left as I'm sure my DS Josh spread morning tea from the table to the fish tank and all the way to the back door to where the doggy was. My DS talked and talked about the fish all the way home (you have all of this to look forward to with Cameron, Cat!!). Thanks for the invite Cat and hope we didn't muck up Cameron's routine too much. After I left I realised I never did get a hold of him - maybe next time??
Karrina - Welcome back. We missed you!!!
Kelsey had her needles today. She was so brave and just stared right in my eyes the whole time like she was saying "What are you doing mummy". And then she had a cry at the end. What a trooper!!! She has been a total pain the last few nights by waking 2-3 times and DS has been driving me insane and getting out of bed heaps. What I wouldn't give for a good nights sleep!!!
Sorry I haven't done any more personals but know that I am reading and keeping up with you all.........I'm off to bed!
Very jealous about the catch-up Flicka I'm giving up on any Sydney chicks getting together!
M was just a right royal pain in the ar*e tonight - or so I thought. He woke at 5pm, fed at 6pm, bath 6:30pm, bed at 7pm. AWAKE at 8pm!!! Tried resettling, he is usually an angel and a dummy popped back in for 2secs is enough. He wouldn't have a barr of it! Anyway poor little mite was hungry! 8:30pm and 170mls EBM later and now he is off in the Wonderful Land of Nod.
Happy sleeps to all.
Sammy - just looking at your avatar - Michael has such gorgeous hair!!
Didn't I say I was going to bed?......hmmmm addicted to bubhub me thinks!!!
Thanks Flicka, he certainly has a lot of it and I love the waves he has! I love the photo of your 2 in your profile!
Strawberry Shortcake - WOW what news...congratulations on the pregnancy
DD is going ok, I told her we were going on a holiday and now that she has been apart from DH I told her today that daddy will see her but won't sleep here anymore because mum and dad fight too much.
He has been over about 4 times today and put her to bed and said goodbye, see you in the morning - she seemed fine with it. But I am sure there will be a lot more questions from her in the future.
I have no idea what Billy weighs now, other than to say that he is in 0's and looks really FAT!:p Poor kid hasn't had his needles yet as I wanted to wait til I was back in NT for that - so I will take him in on Monday.
I feel so relaxed in the house without DH here so I know I have made the right decision.
Will catch up on personals soon
Have a great weekend
karrina ... welcome back! :hugs: for all the issues you are dealing with.
Josh had his needles last night. Unlike last time he's fine this time. He had such a horrid 24 hours after his 2 month needles that I was very scared about this time. I got sick with a cold the day after his 2 month needles, so I thought that maybe he was actually sick at the time, but I wasn' t sure. Given that he is acting normal 12 hours after his needles this time I think he was actually sick last time and it had nothing to do with the needles.
Josh 'says' mum every now and again as part of his normal baby noises. Last night dh was awake late and heard Josh over the monitor ... he went in and he was out of his wrap and clearly said 'mum' ... so dh brought him into me for a feed (ok, so he was giving out other signals that he was hungry too, but we thought it was so cute). He 'said' mum again whilst sitting on the bed next to me as I tried to wake up (it was 1am !).
Karrina: :hugs:, Sounds like you feeling much more relaxed now, hope dh keeps being amicable too so it can stay that way xxx
mim: how CUTE! wonderful !
I cant wait for it, your very lucky most bubs say dad first!! Have heard a few dada's from Katie but nothing ongoing. Knew I would dad first, she really is becoming daddys little girl more and more.
Ok heres a question .
Am I being unfair in wishing for just ONE sleep/lie-in.?
Its been 5 months and Ive either been up few times in the night to where we are now, up 6 or 630am every day. That plus late pregnancy I never slept well cos of spd. so more like 8 months.
Dp was complaining how he couldnt sleep in today as I want to go shopping after her 2nd feed, usually 9-930am. ( same time we always go )
I bit my tounge to reply..but let it be known I was ****ty.
Ive hinted SO many times, have now given up and resigned myself to my fate of never sleeping in again. I wanted this baby so feel I cant argue it as he works and I dont so am I unfair in getting just one now and then?
Take into consideration that other than watching K a bit for me thats all he does housewise, I mow lawns/garden/clean/cook everything.
I feel I deserve one too. ( had hoped for mothers day one but nope..)
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

karrina - welcome back! glad to hear all the travelling went well and that things are improving for you :fingerscrossed: it keeps on going that way!
tabby - NO - you are not being unfair!!! i agree that you should get a sleep in at some point! it is quite amazing how we think we are not "working -paid" so therefore, they get all the breaks.....i too have dreamed of that lie in - i can't complain, i did get it on mother's day...
the good news here.....Geoffrey slept for...wait for it...12 HOURS!!!!!! last night!!!! YAY!!! although i am not holding my breath for that to continue, as he has a cold and last night i had the heater on in his room all night, it is on a thermostat, so goes on and off when needed and i think that did the trick for him....

12 hours? I hope you enjoyed every second :P
mim: so cute about the "mum"!
Tabby: why should you bite your tongue?!? I would let him have it. That's unreasonable. There's no excuse seeing as Katie's bottle-fed.. he should be sharing the duties! (and the sleep-ins)
I bought one of those silly "gummy's" last week to administer the bonjela easier but she just didnt get it... I'm not convinced that bonjela works - she just swallows the lot.. it doesn't last on her gums.
I'm very excited because Caitlin slept for 9.5 hours last night (not near as good as your 12 hours jacster!) and she was UNWRAPPED... unbelievable. Mind you we spent 2 hours trying to get her to go to sleep. We tried leaving her to cry for about 40 minutes and caved. I think well wait til she's 6 months... I dont mind rockign her (hey I get to watch TV and leave the dishes etc...)

:yelclap: well done to those babies having long sleeps for their mummies. It makes you feel so much better after a decent sleep. Keep going to those other mummies still waiting for a sleep in - it will happen eventually
I wish I could offer some more advice about the teething but my son is 7 now and I cant really remember what he did so Im guessing it cant have been too traumatic for me then Just keep in mind that teeth can move up and down a lot before they break through the gum. I dont know where all of you are but if you can get to the main Childrens hospital in your area, go to their pharmacy and ask if they make some teething gel. Our Womens & Childrens Hospital in Adelaide makes one and every person I know swears by it. It contains a local anaesthetic like those Emla patches/creams and you can use it on things like cold sores aswell
I dont think our day is going to be too exciting. Just stuff around the house and a walk along the beach I think. DS is at his dad's house for the weekend so its just Macy and I today. Daddy is working this morning and then off to a friends house in the arvo to play cars. Hopefully we are going out for some fine dining tonight as a late mothers day present :fingerscrossed:
Hope everyone enjoys their day :hugs:
Welcome back Karrina. Was just thinking about you the other day.
Not at all unfair to want a sleep-in Tabby. I got one today - if 7.30 counts as a sleep in when C didn't properly settle until midnight and I was up from 4.30 to 5.30 for a feed. C woke again at 6.30 but I put on a very half hearted "he shouldn't need a feed but I suppose I'll go see to him" so DH slowly struggled out of bed to attend to him while I caught another few minutes of sleep. When C and I headed off for our walk at 8am DH was lying on the couch with his head under a cushion saying he was too tired to join us. And he's the one who got to go to sleep at 10pm LOL!
DH's daddy nap didn't last long though, called him to rescue us from a big dog that's been loitering the neighborhood. Seems friendly enough but impossible to make progress as it pins my Jack Russell to the ground each time we try and move away & there's always the worry it could suddenly turn (on my dog, me or worse C in the pram  ). I actually trapped it in our garage last week when it followed me home & called the ranger but obviously was returned to its owner and continues to escape on a daily basis. Going to call the council/ranger again first thing Monday. Hopefully they can do something because really don't want to have to stop going on our walks because someone can't control their dog. Grrrrr. :shame:
Flicka, definitely you can have a hold of C next time (optional if he is throwing a sooky-la-la!).

karrina happy to hear things are going well
tabby - no its not unfair you asking its your right as a mum to get a sleep in occasionaly :p
all good here. ash is so perfect. hmm hes waking so i better go
tabby ... may I suggest saying what you want clearly to your dh? I've given up on hinting with regards to things like sleepins, etc. I just say it outloud and dh either says yes or no to what I want and I no longer resent him for not reading my mind. For me I like afternoon naps, rather than sleepins ... I used to sleep every afternoon if given the opportunity, now it's once or twice a week. Today dh took Josh for a walk while I slept - they were gone for 2 whole hours! dh is a bit exhausted now :).
Josh was grizzly after a short nap early this afternoon and I picked him up and found him hot ... yep, he had a temperature (37.9), no wonder he was grizzly. He was much better after panadol and a feed. He had a slight temperature after his dinner (37.10), but he went to sleep ok and he's still sound asleep 1/2 hour later so hopefully we'll get to eat dinner in peace. I'm glad we've survived the worst of it after his vaccinations.
Tabby, you definitely deserve a sleep-in. We get one each on a weekend!
Cheeki, LOL at you bubhubbing while spring cleaning! We are women, it's really just multi-tasking.
Mim, glad Josh is doing ok after needles and responds well to panadol.
Cordelia, a while agoI had a bad ulcer in my mouth and bonjela did F-all!
Jacstar, very jealous of long sleep!
Cat13, loose dogs can be such a pain, a friend has had a nasty experience when her DH was walking their staffie and were attacked by 2 dogs. The other 2 came out the worse for it as Harley was in protective mode. The owner of the injured dogs was very angry and demanding compensation till it was pointed out Harley was on a leash and his two were out unattended.
I hate smoke alarms, ours has been going off continually with my roast tonight. And don't you just love visitors who invite themselves for dinner, cancel bringing their girlfriend at the last minute & don't turn up when expected throwing out your whole cooking regime? This roast will be ruined if DH's friend doesn't arrive soon.
Sorry for the whinge, hope others are having a good night!
Hi ladies,
Well, Kelsey finally had a good sleep last night after a restless few days. Was almost going to cave and start her on solids as I thought it might be due to hunger.....maybe just a growth spurt. Plus DS didn't wake as much last night. Every time he called "mummy" I just ignored him for a while and he went back to sleep. One of you wise mums reminded me a while back that these night time wakings could be due to the whole toilet training thing (was it you Sammy??) and I think you are right as we are now officially only in nappies at night. HOORAY!
Mim - Hugs for little Josh and his temp. Kelsey had her needles Friday and also had a little temp this morning. Disappeared after a dose of panadol and a good nap. Hope Josh is better.
Sammy - Hope your roast wasn't ruined. I bet your DH's friend is childless!!! Every time we invite our 'childless' friends over I ask them to come about 6pm so we can eat at a reasonable time for DS and the kids can go to bed and leave us in peace but for some reason they just don't get it and turn up late.....some folks don't understand how organised you try to be with kids!
tabby - Gosh I hope you are able to talk to your DP about the whole sleep in issue. I get more sleep ins than my DH. My argument is that he gets a break from the kids when he goes to work but I NEVER do. Plus I think it is good for him to have some time with DS and Kelsey without me around - he doesn't need me looking over his shoulder all of the time. Being a mum is a 24/7 job but having a "paid" job is far less hours - no offence but your DP needs to give you a break!!! My DH is on nightwork at the moment and even gave me a sleep in AFTER he came home from work at 6am as I was still tired.
Take care girls and hugs to all of your bubs!
Hi all
Thanks everyone for the advice re: sleep-ins. Your all right of course, I just needed to hear that I wasnt being selfish, will do as said by Mim and before next weekend will ask outright that we share the weekend.
jacstar: Yay for that big sleep, hope you got more?
cordelia: I agree, the bonjela so hard to actualy get onto the gums, am sure more is swallowed too lol. yay for the unwrapped sleep! hope it continues and gets even better.
cat: not sure if all councils the same but if you get 3 calls/letters from neighbors complaining of the same, here they will actualy warn them and next is a fine? I dont hesitate now after ds2 was scared witless by a rotti that almost jumped our fence yrs ago to get to him..very scary!!
mim: :hugs: for Josh and his needles.
glad he didnt get any effects too bad, how is he now?
cheeki: lol at your spring cleaning / bub hub trick, must remember that one
sammy: our smoke alarm is the same! goes off nearly every night just from cooking or making toast mornings, not the best thing to hear first thing in the morning lol.
Flicka: hope the good nights continued? hugs for Kelsey as well re: needles.
After saying to mim how lucky to get mum and usualy its dad , yep we have dada now lol
I hadnt said anything to anyone, only here, that thought had heard it and when picked her up from mums she said how K said dada 3 times so wasnt just my imagination.
gotta go K on my lap and trying to bash the key board lol.
back later
oh i think K knew, today she went till 730!!!
bless her

tabby - :hugs: for the sleeps..
tayla got her needles on friday and she hasn't reacted to them:smiliedance: - ....
she has been great lately - she has been so happy .. and after the last few weeks - i just love her to death - where as before - i just kept thinking 'god ! i need a break from the crying !!!..' lol now i can't wait to 'play' with her .... don't i sound like a bad mum
we had her baptism last night .. and with pentecost and all it was a great service - we had to finish the party afterwards early as i had to be at work by 11pm..... boy was i tired when i got to work ..:(
however.... came home and it was a great relief to crawl into bed this morning ....
boss: With ds2 I felt like you did and when I look back now I see that a constantly crying baby could wear down even the most confident of mums but yep it sure is good when things start to improve and you finally can relax and just enjoy them thats for sure! So happy to hear shes much much happier and so are you!
Hope you get some rest today to catch up from what sounds like a lovely night last night.
K is asleep in the pram, she has her finger holding on to the hood bar lol.

she loves to nap semi upright in there, just nods off while watching me or the tv
tabby ... that is SO cute!
Josh is better today. He was a bit grizzly this afternoon, but I think it was cause he'd been awake for 2 1/2 hours straight (we were out for lunch). He's thinking about going to sleep now that we're home and he has a full tummy.
We went to my dh's parents house for a belated mother's day lunch, but my FIL hurt his eye this morning (poked it with a stick whilst looking for a lost golf ball at golf this morning). SO, straight after lunch I drove my MIL and FIL to the local hospital to get it looked at. He's scratched the eye and has a patch and drops but will be ok.
Speaking of dog bite's ... my dad was bitten by a dog this morning as he walked along a road. Dad was just walking on a quiet country road and a malamute (or similar) ran out from the front yard of a house and bit dad on the leg completely unprovoked. Thankfully he had a jacket on as well as thick pants, so he wasn't injured but he had words with the owner for letting the dog roam free and dad will be ringing the council first thing tomorrow.

Hi there
It's been a busy week here and we have still had computer problems which hopefully are fixed now :fingerscrossed:
I bought R a bumbo seat yesterday, he falls about laughing when he's in it. Has anyone else got one? Here's a photo of R in his;
http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i60/Hels-b/Reece/Bumbo.jpg
We also bought him a highchair, we got the steelcraft messina one, it was recommended and we found it on special which was a bonus. DH is putting it together now.
Caught up with some friends this arvo, they have a 7 month old boy. The 2 babies look very similar now compared to a few months ago. It's amazing how quickly they grow up.
I haven't had chance to catch up with all the posts so I hope that everyone is well and that the bubs are still sleeping through.

hels- reece is v cute. can't believe he is close to 7 kg- he looks soo cute and little in the seat. How much are they worth? Alexander is 4.5 months and only weighs a bit over 6 kgs but I think all the food is going to make him tall- he's a tall and skinny bub.
lol Hels, so cute! How much are they? Katies trying so hard to sit but of course not ready, shed love one of those too.
Mim: hope all Josh needed was a good arvo nap & hes feeling much better.
ouch poor fil AND your dad!

I have seen secondhand ones sell for up to $80 on eBay  I got mine new for $67.50, they have a few colour choices too.
DH's friend rolled up at 8:30pm so roast was a bit cooler than I would have liked. He got caught up watching the footie - blardy men! His GF came along after she finished work, 24yr old blond professional model - I felt fat, frumpy and boring! DH was lovely though and made me feel lots better, the single life is way behind us!
Tabby, K looks gorgeous as usual.
Hels, Those seats are cool, a friend of a friend is the importer of those and other stokke products (not a close enough contact to warrant a discount unfortunately)
Flicka, can't take the credit for suggestion about the toilet training, B isn't close to being ready, we are concentrating on him feeding himself at the moment as he is a shocker (weird child can take hours to eat a lolly snake so you can imagine how long real food takes)
Mim, hope both your Dad and FIL are ok, sounds like both have had a rough time!
Bossoflatch, glad needles were ok for Tayla.
Well Michael has found his Thumb and boy does he give it a workout if he drops his dummy during sleep. It's great cos he self settles during the night with it but I dread ridding him of the habit at a later stage. New territory for us as B was never interested in his.

Hi all...
Quickly read over the last few pages.... had a lovely weekend away with DH. We left the kids with MIL for a night and rode DHs Harley down to the beach and stayed overnight at a resort. Was lovely to sit and relax over a couple of drinks...ate too much...slept in....got a massage...ahhh it was bliss!!!!
I think its really important to have time just for the two of you...specially with a new bub, life sometimes becomes all about going through the motions of getting from one day to the next!!
bossoflatch - jetts still waking up at night for a feed, at the moment hes waking at about 1am and then at 5am he thinks its time to get up for the day! Sometiems i can convince him to go back for an hour or so!!
Are you still b/f? you mentioned formula..what formula do you use?
Aries - Im hearing you with the whole teething thing!! OMG Jett is just going beserk with his gums ..poor little fella. He gets soo frustrated. I do the bonjela, panadol but also use the Hylands teething tablets, they are great.
I find that little mesh food holder you can get from woolies great too..i put cold apple in there and he munches away on it!
Karrina - Hi! Dont think ive met you yet!!! My little man was born on 6/1/07, Jett Bailey James. He too is a little fattie!! and is in 0 s aswell! :yelclap:
Jacstar - 12 hours sleep....OMG......so jealous
Tabby - I know what you mean bout the sleep in, i too do everything, mow, wash car, etc etc...and i dont get sleep in much as he doesnt get alot of days off and when h e does get a couple he s catching up so that he can go to work again...but it got to the stage where i had to say to him, if i dont get a sleep in and catch up soon...well i would fall to bits and he would HAVE to stay home from work to look after me and kids....so...best he let me have some sleep too!! All has been great since then!!
Anyway....am absolutly knackered after weekend away, although it was lovely..still had to pick kids up, pack up car, drive 3 hours home, unpack car....its really annoying living soo far away from everything some times!!!
Jett had his last bottle at 8pm tonite which is the latest hes ever gone down....so am crossing fingers he will sleep longer!! See how i go!! Anyone started their bubs on food before 6months?? (other than rice cereal???)
Evening girls
Tabby - Awww Katie is so cute.
Hels - That photo of Reece in the bumbo is gorgeous. I would love one for Kelsey but since I probably won't have anymore kids I have to try and stop myself......ooohhh but I really want one!!
Sammy - Oh tell me about the agonising experience of feeding a toddler. One day Josh eats everything in sight and the next few days he survives on half a piece of toast, a cheese stick and a freddo frog. AARRGGHHH!!! I have tried EVERYTHING to get him to eat brekky but he just isn't really interested. He hates cereal and nibbles on toast or crumpets. Occasionally he will eat scrambled eggs........I have convinced myself it is a stage. We set the timer on the microwave now and tell him he has 5 more minutes to finish eating and when the microwave beeps we say dinner is over.
Kelsey woke up last night with a really dry cough that was keeping her awake. No runny nose or mucous - just really dry. Fed her at 11pm and she coughed for so long she puked up what looked like about half a litre of precious booby juice all over me and the bed. Luckily DH was at work last night so I just slept on his side of the bed for the rest of the night!!! So I went today and bought her a vaporiser in the hope that it will help. Seems very warm in her room though but haven't heard any coughing. Hope she gets a good sleep.
Chat soon ladies... xxx

finalcountdown - my bubs is on pepti junior as she has cows milk allergies and yes i am still breast feeding .... with the weight loss drama and the bad reflux - she went down to 4.9 kilos  so we had to start comping...
she gets bf every time she is hungry and then we offer her about 60mls of formula now .... it was 120 mls after a feed but she had put on heaps of weight so the health nurse said to decreas the amount to offer ... sometimes she sleeps thru ie friday night 11 hours ....:smiliedance: but last night only 6 hours ... but we had her baptism so she didn't get her bedtime routine.... ... poor thing was overtired ....
also - what is classified as a high temp . as bubs had her needles on friday - we haven't had any dramas but tonight she went to bed with a temp of 36.5 .... but really hot to touch and burning up ... so i gave her panadol - just wasn't sure what to classify as a temp???
Lukeandmattsmum
27-05-2007, 21:03
bossoflatch i think anything over 37 is classified as a temp in children. Even thought her temp was only 36.5 she may well of been on her way to getting warmer. So hopefully the panadol will stop her getting higher.
hey havn posted here in a while.
Bailey was 7.1kg at his 12 weeks weigh in.
He turned four months on Thursday. He has been on solids for a few weeks cause he stopped settling on just milk now sometimes hell sleep from 7.30 till 5.30am. rarely but its a start lol.
ne Jan mums from perth.
Bex
Sammy: Does thumb sucking now mean he will be later though? if so one less habit later but bonus for now for self settling...
Thanks, Katie makes me laugh so much the things she does now.
finalcountdown: That night away sounded lovely!
AND a massage!! wow.
Thanks Flicka,
Hope Kelsey's cough is gone by morning and she sleeps well.
boss: Katies last lot of jabs gave her that temp too, she felt all hot and clammy and we just kept up the panadol and in nappy and singlets, as soon as the temp feels like its coming back I dosed her again as the temp made her head ache anyhow as she kept grabbing her head. 37 is the high temp so its close but nothing too concerning. Just keep her on panadol as long as she has it.
Hope its all gone by morning. :hugs:
Plenty of dada's today, no mistaking it now lol.
K crashed at 630 tonight as she was awake since 330 and only 2 short naps today.
Hels: Pity the seat is out of our range at the moment, need a high chair and jolly jumper as well so cant afford both :( ah well, maybe for the next one for us cos I do like it, think its a great investment.
Aries: Thinking of you and X Hows his feeding now?
hi Bex
There is a few of us Perth, Think we actually have a meet up in a couple of weeks if your interested.
Forgot to say I got a sipper cup for Katie yesterday and she doesnt know how to use it, tommi tippee one and your suppose to suck on it as well and she cant work it out! She just bites on it. Cost me $14 too and that was a cheaper one! :banghead:
Sure can u PM me details.:)
My eldest is 17 months and he still refuses to use a sippy cup he can use them and straws but hates em. Im not worried Ill just put him from bottle Strait to cup. It doesnt matter aslong as he doesnt have it in bed and his teeth get brushed before he goes to bed
Sure Bex, soon as its arranged ill make sure you get a pm.
Well I did as suggested and just out rightly said I needed a sleep in and what did he think of sharing the weekends and he said yes YAY. Forget sometimes that you have to just spell it out to men!
Katie went to bed at 630 but still went till 7! looks like shes 7-730 now which is great. that hr makes all the difference.
Hope everyone had good sleeps to.

morning all! hope everyone had a great weekend!! we had busy day yesterday as all pete's family came for his bday lunch. I cooked a massive roast and managed to not stuff it up!!! so was all good.
TABBY- we are still having feeding issues, he is only feeding after it's been ages and he is starving!! I thought I figured it out yesterday as thought AF was returning but nothing seemed to progress *trying to not be TMI* here! Now that I thought some more about it, It really looked like it may have been implantation bleeding!! Can you imagine??!?!!? If it is I will be shocked, wouldn't think it could happen so soon as fully bf'ing, but it has to be hormonal reasons he's refusing me and still no AF, except the bit of spotting yesterday. Wondering if i should do a test, but if I have no idea about my cycle it may not work or show false results....oh what to do!!! anyone else had this???
gotta go, back soon and maybe i'll decide to test.....
oh, welcome BEX! lots of perth mums, meeting soon i think too:)
Cheeki: :hugs: hope your getting a nice nap and sure hope things are better tonight for you. Poor Zaidee-bum hope hes feeling better this morning.
Aries: TEST sweety!!!!! Wont do any harm and no you wont get false results. :fingerscrossed: for you for the result you want, did know you wanted to ttc but was that now or further down the road? AT least a test will let you know if thats the issue with X and ease your mind?
by the way, my mum was fully bf and fell preg when my brother was 3 months with my sister. She didnt know till she was 5 months. lol yup these were the days when they said if you fully bf you couldnt get pregnant
Hey Flicka & Cheeki - :hugs: for under the weather bubs.
Reece looks like he's having fun in that seat Hels. Showed DH the pic and he wants to buy one for C now. He's happy enough in his high chair though - we pop him in it in the reclining position and he can watch mum in the kitchen or we pop him in front of the fishtank - keeps him amused (and quiet!) for ages.
Aries_moon, can't hurt to test! Tabby, must have been a surprise to your mum to be 5 months gone without even realising! That's why I'm half tempted to do a monthly 'just in case' test!
Just wondering, am I the only one who has been too lazy to sort out rotavirus vaccine for C. He got the usual 4 month needles but I've been slack about finding out more about the rotavirus vaccine apart from what I saw in the news headlines :o .
Cat13, rotavirus 1st dose has to be administered between 10 - 14wks. I'm sure C will be fine!
Tabby, will just have to wait and see about this thumb sucking stuff. M has slept in till7:30am two mornings in a row now - probably a combination of the thumb and ready to cut out the 5am feed. Fantastic that DP will let you have sleep-ins - cheeky boy has probably been waiting for you to come out and ask, remind him he has 2 special girls to take care of!
Cheeki, get some sleep sweety if you can! I agree get the dads to do baby stuff every now and then to reinforce what we go through 5-6 times a day (in your case 10-12)
Aries, I agree, do a test and if it's neg I would test again in another couple of weeks just to be sure!
We are housebound today, DS1 has a bad cold and has been feverish. He has also decided he doesn't like medicine! I took M to a meet-n-greet yesterday, my best friends little sister missed out on having a baby shower as she went into premi labour and spent 5wks in hospital till little Noah was born. Was lovely, M looked huge compared to a 6wk old!

Hi there just thought I would check in with everyone as I am no longer a regular here anymore.
I do miss the chats but find it hard to find the time. I went back to work at the end of April and I must say it has been pretty full on with senoir exams, parent teacher interviews and reports!!! You think considering I was away all of term one I would skip these bits but NO!
Bridget is going really well. She had her second lot of injections last week and weighed in at a massive 6 1/2 kilos!!
She is still b/f and going well. I try to come home during the day to give her a feed but if I cant she reluctantly has a bottle.
My god time flies, our bubs are getting so big. I love the pictures of all your bubs, they are all just so beautiful!
Will try and check in more regularly, it would be easier if I could access this site from work but it has been Barred!!
Take care xoxox:hugs:

Nice to hear from you liviesmum :) It sounds like you're incredibly busy - but it's good to hear that Bridget is going so well :) What a lovely photo of her as your avatar!!
Cheeki - What a night! :/ you poor thing. Funny about DH sleeping through a baby screaming next to him! My DH used to do the same until he started to get a kick in the shins every time I had to get up so now he wakes up immediately to avoid getting bruises. I hope that Zaide gets better soon anyway.
Aries: wow! imagine if you were pregnant! Let us know what happens ;)
Well.... pretty boring here. So goodbye!
I know I'll regret writing this because I'll probably hear a wake-up cry but........
I think I'm bored!! Yay!!
C has been very sleepy today. Must be all the fresh air he got on a little picnic we had yesterday. He had a nap from 8-11.30 this morning and went to sleep again at 1 and still snoring.
Anyway, wasn't planning on doing the housework today and not going to do it just for the sake of it. Have already finished reading the magazine I bought yesterday.
But who knows when I'll get the chance to feel bored again so I'm going to enjoy it - going to watch some bad daytime TV and open the tim tams :D
how big were ur bubbas at bout 12-14 weeks.
Bailey was 7.1kg at 13.3 weeks.
bex ... josh was about 6.4kg at 3 months I think ...
Bex, 13 weeks for Katie she was 5.3kg but she was 3 weeks prem and a littlie and still is.
lol Cat: enjoy what sounds like a lovely restful day
Hi Liviesmum, good to hear from you again and happy things are going so well for yous.
Sammy, :hugs: for ds1, hope hes feeling better soon.
Didnt worry the rotavirus here as heard/told no need if no daycare etc right? No plans there for that so alls good for us without it.
Nothing new here either but catching up on things, moved the comps to the dining room so we can block off ready for K crawling and that allowed me to have more space lounge too which is great.
Aries where are you??? Did you test ??
* goes back to waiting *

hi sorry to leave you in such suspense!!:p
yep tested and was negative, but will test again in a few weeks as X has only been refusing me like this for about 5 days, so if I am pg, I may only just be. Kinda hope not just yet though, as were wanting to try when X is at least 6 months. Keen for a small age gap, but hopefully a little over one year!! lol Even still, seeing the negative was a bit sad, just for the simple fact that it isn't positive  anyway hows everyone elses day??
cat13 you lucky thing!! X has only slept 3 hours straight about 2 times in his life, hope you're making the most of it!!
CHEEKI yep we already started on farex a couple weeks ago, but he is just refusing me all together!! Still been giving him a bit mixed with booby milk, but he really needs to have more booby only!! yep he is a very defiant little boy.........
BEX- at 14 weeks Xavier was 8.2 kilos, but he is a monster and always has been:D

Bex - at 11 weeks, G was 4.8kgs, so my guess is that she was a little over 5kgs at 13- 14 weeks.
Yes Aries moon, I'm with Tabby - whats happening, have you tested?
Us - Things going well here. G seems to have settled into a new nightime pattern - ie 6pm then bed, feeds at 11pm and 3am and then awake and feed at 7.00am. Am pretty happy with that, was better than previous routine of 6.00pm then bed, feeds at 1am and 4am and awake at 6am!! Lets just hope she decides to drop the 3.00am shortly. Am not holding my breath though!
Bex, M was 6kg at 12wks, he is a long, lean smiling machine. I love the Winter clothes cos they make him look a bit chubbier to match his chubby cheeks!
Cat, enjoy the boredom!!!
DS1 has just happily emptied every box, drawer or cupboard he can lay his hands on. That's what you get when you keep a 2 and a half year old inside all day!
Nightmare - returned from grocery shopping to find all 3 outlaws here unexpectedly. They had M up and were having a heart attack over my little SIL's internet bill of over $800  I had explained that she would get email notification when she exceeded her plan limit but the silly ninkumpoot hasn't ever checked her new email address - preferring her old hotmail address. Lots of ranting and raving, M smiled thru it all and B happily played with his crayons. They have learnt already to ignore it all LOL.
Hi all. It's been ages since I've been on so have just done a quick read to catch up on everything....it sounds like all bubbas are "growing" along well!
Audrey is 20weeks today and is 7kg. She's been doing a 12hr stretch through the night...7pm to 7am. I stopped the 9:30pm dream feed a couple of weeks ago and she just kept sleeping!!!
I read quickly about teeth and gel etc... a girl in my mums group recommended Hylands Teething Relief tablets...you just get them from the chemist. They are a little tablet that dissolves in bubs mouth - her sister used them with all her kids and says they are great.
We've been experimenting with a cup....I'm loathe to buy a million dollar sipper cup if she doesn't end up using it so we are just using a plain old cup. She's going ok....we end up with water everywhere..but it's fun. We haven't tried any food yet...but have been playing aeroplanes with a spoon.
DH and I had our first night out alone 2 weeks ago. His boss was here from sweden so we did the smoozing dinner...and sil babysat...easier enough because she was already asleep and didn't wake up. It was so weird to be out without her......later that week we also went to an engagement party and mil and fil babysat......very strange. In June we are off to my brothers wedding and Audrey will have a sleepover at nanna and poppa's and we're staying in a fancy hotel in the city - that will be really weird!!
Glad to hear everyone is doing well! I will def try to get on more frequently!

not much happening here. ash has a cough and ds 2 has croupe so had a sleepless night last night
Hi Ladies,
I haven't posted for quite a while, was finding it a little hard to keep up but still stick my head in every now and then to see how everyone is travelling...I just don't get time to reply LOL.
Aries Moon, Koby has been refusing me (breast) for the past couple of days too. Very strange for him as he would usually feed when ever I stuck my boob in front of him lol. I also had some spotting, and I'm definitely NOT pregnant, (no BD'ing happening at the moment:rolleyes: ).
I had some spotting a few weeks ago too, I was sure AF was on her way as I've never spotted before, but it was just a little bit one day. All very strange, it must be the hormones turning them off. K is going so long between feeds and then we he does feed it's a quick 5 minutes (if that). I then keep offering it throughout the day as I think he MUST be hungry but he just grunts and pulls away from me. He is still waking at about 1am and 5am.
K is having his shots tomorrow. NOT looking forward to that. We are also in the middle of packing as we're moving on the weekend. Man, I hate packing. You realise how much junk you collect, and this is from someone who has moved 12 times in 12 years!! You'd think I'd know better by now.
Hope everyone is well, I will try and join in a bit more in future....

weighed alexander last week and he was 6.6kg. He is very small for his height- dropped a few percentiles since he was born. but as long s he is happy and growing tall I don't mind..
I still miss my little bubba and stare at all of the tiny babies in the shops.. I want one.. but was thinking about it in the middle of the night and got shivers thinking about labour!
Yeah, I saw a little baby the other day and thought ... oh, they are so little and cute! Of course, Josh isn't really that much bigger, but I love tiny babies! Seriously though I love this age. Josh is full of giggles and looks around at things, but still loves his cuddles and snuggles in while feeding.
Josh has fussy days with feeding and I think it's just him. It's common for 4+ month olds to get more distracted whilst feeding, but even without obvious distractions sometimes I basically have to hold josh's head to make him feed ... it's SO annoying. Other times though he'll just feed happily all by himself. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with AF (I don't have it yet thank goodness!).
No feeds from 7 - 7 ... I wish! Josh was going from 8 or 9 -> 5am or so, but I'm now doing well if he goes for 5 hours between feeds overnight. By 7:30am this morning I was so dizzy from exhaustion I didn't trust myself to change his nappy after his 3rd overnight feed so I put him down without changing him. I was worried I was going to drop him. Of course I didn't. I'd only had 5 hours sleep by that stage, but thankfully I got back to sleep and slept in til 10am. I must have been really tired cause I had the monitor on in the bedroom and dh had the portable monitor on in his office and got 'called' by Joshua many times for rewrapping, etc ... but I didn't wake at all! It makes me wonder how many noises come through the monitor overnight that I don't hear.

JENKO- Wow! we are going through the exact same thing with the eating ie. hours between and only 5 mins or so, same wake times and all!! Have been spotting a bit more today too but nothing continuous....I wonder why this happens?? Like I'd rather just get AF and deal with it and not have to put up with whatever this is!!bloody hormones:rolleyes:
CHARIS-where are ya mate?? Do we have a date yet for our perth meet?? hope you and the little guy are all good!!
off now for Big brother noms!! lol yes i'm a sucker for this trash:D
Hi
Weight - forgot to say I got Kelsey weighed on Friday when she had her needles and was surprised to find she has put on 1.2kg in a month  . This from the baby who was gaining really slowly for ages. I was totally surprised but happy to find she is now over 8kg and we can turn the car seat around!!
Me - I turn 30 on Wednesday. Feeling a bit strange about it. On the one hand I feel a bit sad and fat and frumpy but on the other hand feel like I have accomplished heaps in my life so far (marriage, 2 lovely kids, career). Does this make sense or am I having a hormonal/emotional overload about my birthday? I have about 5 more kilos I would like to lose since having Kelsey and it won't budge......I just wanted to be thin and fabulous and 30, IYKWIM?
*big sigh*
Thanks for listening.....
Mim and Aries - we sort of posted over the top of each other I think.....
I am having the same feeding issues at times. kelsey is now easily distracted at feed times and really only feeds for about 5 mins each side. She often refuses a feed so I just let her go now and try not to get up tight about it (it was upsetting me a few weeks back). I actually find if she wakes for a feed during the night, they are often the longest and most relaxed feeds she has. During the day, she wriggles and twists and pulls at her hair and scratches her face......
DH gave Kelsey a 'taste' of vegemite on his finger today and she LOVED it. He gave her a little more (off his sandwich) and she lunged forward and grabbed his finger and shoved it in her mouth....left her licking her lips and making lip-smacking noises for ages!
I think I have created a monster!! Billy got weighed today and he is a massive 9.1kg! Poor thing had his 4 month old needles too, lots of tears:gloomy:
I have 'baby wrist' which is a sore tendon in the wrist (due to pregnancy/post hormones) it is quite common apparently? I have to see a physio and have a splint put on my arm for 3 months. I get shooting pain into my thumb and arm (all I need right now) and makes it difficult to pick up the lard boy :D To make matters worse I also have an ingrown toenail that needs to be removed by the podiatrist in the next. OMG I am starting to sound like a hypercondriact!! My body is just starting to fall apart (wish the weight would fall apart )
DD also sprayed perfume in her eyes tonight so I rang x DH to come and take her to the hospital, I tried pouring water into her eyes but she wouldn't co-operate, I hope she is ok as she has been at the hospital for the last couple of hours.
I have an appointment with the Women's Legal Service on Thursday to try to sort through the property issues.
Billy has started sitting by himself, I can't believe how he is growing.
I have managed to get the kids into childcare on Fridays as I start back at part time work in 2 weeks :crying:
Aside from that - life is good:D

Good evening everyone
I cant remember everyone to do personals yet so Im just going to blab about myself hehehe
Well I didnt get my dinner saturday night. Hubby got home too late and drunk and proceeded to pass out on the lounge floor. Id kinda been expecting it as he'd been at his best mates who he doesnt get to see very often. I got my revenge by drawing on his face with black texta hahaha Sometimes i dont think im mature enough to be a parent
Macy had her 2nd afternoon at childcare today. They said she did really well besides a bout of wind, plus she is very alert and is almost up on all 4's [but we knew that already of course!!:yelclap: ] i think she might beat her brother and be crawling before 7 months
Tmrw we are off to her Paed for a checkup on her breathing and VSD. THen I can stop worrying hopefully after a visit to the crappy GP last week.
Well Macy has been asleep on the couch for the last hour and a bit so Im going to go to bed and hopefully catch up on some sleep. I felt **** today thanks to a scratchy cough keeping me awake last night and AF making her return for the first time
Oh I cant remember who asked about weights but Macy was 6kgs at her 4 month needles. We visited my SIL yesterday and her son who is 2 months younger than Macy was the same size as her!
Night night everyone. Hope we all get a good sleep
Forgot to say re; sleep. Billy is STILL waking every 3- 4 hours for a feed. I am fully BF and yesterday tried Billy with a little farex (which he gobbled) I also bought one of those things which you can put mushy food into (a mesh thing that babies suck the food though) I tried banana and Billy loved it.
I was pretty sad about buying Billy his first feeding spoon and containers. I want him to stay a little baby for a while longer :crying:
Bailey was 3 weeks early and still weighed 8'5. and it looks like except for one he is still big in comparison to most. Wasn't sure cause ant was 3 weeks early to but was 6'13 and didn't reach 7.2 kg till 5 months and at almost 18 month still only weighs 11.2 kg. So was just wondering how Bailey compaired to more regular weighing babys.:)
I put Bailey on solid at about 13 weeks cause he wasn settling nemore, He like ant hated farex. So was only on it bout a week to get him used to soilids, now he has the hienz 4-6 months babyfood. (Not sweet ones cause if u start with sweet ull have a Battle on ur hands later. Or week bix made with formula (u Can make it with EBM)
Just A thought for Unsettled Babies.
Oh and they say signs of being ready for solids are not settling nemore and constantly chewing on their hands.
Aries: Sorry you felt a bit sad re the negative :hugs:
Yes where is Charis? Havnt heard from for a few days, Hope you two are ok.
Farex...Not that bad if you add things to it, now we add mashed banana to it and she loves it, thats brekky, that or milk arrowroot bickys and formula! You can add pureed pears/apples to farex as well, much tastier..well Katie thinks so
We are up to potato and sweet potato mash for dinner and she loves that too.
She had a lot of custards those first few weeks but thats only because she didn't like anything else, worked out ok, now she only gets one as a treat once a week.
Freddie: Picked up the vaporiser, again thankyou!
korah: Hope alls well tomorrows visit paed
Karrina: Hugs for Billy's jabs day! Hope hes feeling ok
aww Flicka, but you are FABULOUS and soon to be 30! two out of three aint bad hun, and anyway you have a whole year to achieve it!!! your 30 for that long xxxx
Katies taken to slapping me! lol I was trying to cuddle her off to sleep this arvo and she attacked me! Was hilarious, she was slapping my face and growling and grizzling all at once, lol little does she know tantrums wont work with me, they just make me laugh! She ended up laughing with me...such a little con artist already trying it on lol
good sleeps all round :fingerscrossed:
Forgot to mention that the brisbane southside mummies and bubbas are meeting tomorrow (Weds). If anyone interested pm me.

Hi everyone,
Happy Birthday Flicka!! Did you get to do anything special? :P
we're going to start introducing caitlin to some veges now that the rice cereal is going well. I want to do veges before fruit so she doens't get too much of a sweet tooth so we might put some sweet potato with the rice cereal tonight.. oo ah! How exciting.
I'm feeling a bit down becuase she actually hasn't gained weight in ... a long time.. like 300g in 6 weeks... :( only 50g in the last fortnight. She looks perfectly happy and there are plenty of wet nappies.. but she has been getting (TMI!!!) very green diarreoah every day whereas before they were mustardy every week. (and this is b4 we started solids).. so I'm not sure if I'm worrying incessantly or if I should take her to the doctor. The CHN said that she's grown a lot in length so I shouldn't worry.. but I dont' knowwww.....
Wow what a ramble.
Oh yeah, so she's now only 4.95kg at 23 weeks. I've been waiting aaaaaaaages for her to budge over that 5kg mark. How tiny :( The thing is she's so happy and content I'm sure I don't need to worry - but so TINY!
Woops!! Another ramble..
Sorry fro no personals but I should go do my work because Miss C wakes up.... have a nice day everyone!!!
hi there,
my name is kylie i have 2 beutiful boys jacob is 2 and cameron wasborn on 10th jan 07. i would love to join ur little group! about the hair thingy i thought it was just me!!!!!!
Welcome Mrs t, look forward to getting to know you and your family :D
Cordelia: Could it be that C is just going to be a really petite little girl? I havnt had K weighed for a bit but even though solids for 4 weeks now she doesnt look like shes gained much more than usual, I think K's going to be little and petite, as you said shes happy and content so try not to worry hun, oh and K has those horrid runny greenish poos all the time! They started when we had the flu but she still does it..
Welcome Mrs T, hope you enjoy it in here as much as I do!
Cordelia, you would know if something was wrong, she sounds fine! Sounds like you have a dainty lady there, that's all! I would probably prefer that to a giantess. I have a 6ft7" friend and it looks like his little girl is 'all him' (off the charts in every measurement for both boys and girls)
We have had runny green poos ever since rotavirus vaccine, before that they were runny yellow. We have one exploding poo a day requiring a full strip (even if I get to the change table in seconds)
cordelia ... don't worry about the slower weight gain - it's normal! Yep, from 3 or 4 months of age they slow down to 5 - 10 grams weight gain a day according to my paediatrician. If they continued at the speed they were gaining weight in the early months they'd be adult weight by 3 (or something like that!). Remember that some babies are just smaller than others. My friend's children were all on the 10th percentile yet she was nearly 6 foot tall and her husband is over 6 foot tall. Her youngest dd is 8 months old and weighs less than my Joshua who is 4 months old. For some reason her children are all skinny, they still look normal though and don't have any problems from weighing less than other kids. :hugs:
kylie ... welcome! Glad to have another mum on board.
After saying that Josh rarely goes 5 hours overnight anymore, he stretched it to 6 hours last night! Yeah, I know it's not 12 hours, but it's a definite improvement! He fed at 9:30pm, 3:30am, 8:15am and now at nearly midday he's still asleep. He hasn't gone more than 3 1/2 hour between daytime feeds for a while. I think this growth spurt is over! Yeah!!
Hi Mrs T, Your Cameron is older than by Cameron by 6 days. Like the name by the way!!
Flicka, happy bday for Wednesday  . I always thought I'd have issues turning 30 but when it happened was more preoccupied with being 7 months pg and planning bubs arrival so sorta just eased into it.
On night sleeping, C did often used to go 12 hours but not for ages. He's down by 7pm and then usually wakes for a nice big cosy feed at 11ish and then sometimes again at 4ish. Hardly ever sleeps in longer than 6am. He slept and fed like a champion yesterday but a bit indifferent to booby today. Don't let it botehr me anymore either. If he's hungry, he knows where to find me!
Cordelia, on the plus side, think of all the extra wear a small bub gets out of cute newborn outfits!

 Mrs T - Glad you found us.
Question: Has anyone else bubs just stopped using the dummy. For some reason today she has slept all day without it. It has been great b/c she has self settled and I have had 2 long sleeps so far rather then little ones. It was so weird I went to give it to her at her 1st sleep and she gagged and turned away. I had to help one of the boys so I left her. When I came back she was asleep. She did the same thing this last sleep. I am not complaining but I am not sure if this is a "normal" thing now or just something wrong today. For heavens sake my 21month old still has his dummies. Any thoughts???? Do I just keep not giving it to her.
Plus keep :fingerscrossed: for us tomorrow. We have 4 month injections for Sienna and the chicken box injection for DS2. We are asking for trouble geting them done on the same day. Its the only day DH is around.
Sorry no personals will get to them later.
Victoria: if that was me I would stop giving it to her at least see if she keeps to self settle, with luck she will and you can give up the dummy already, worth a try. If not just give it back?
Have noticed K seems to need it less lately. Dont think we will have a problem when the time comes, only ever needs to go to sleep and spits it soon as asleep if not before.
:hugs::hugs: for both tomorrow, hope goes well and no after effects :fingerscrossed:
Hey chicks,
Mrs T - Welcome. Our bubs were born on the same day!
Victoria - :hugs: for needles tomorrow!
Yes, turning the big 3-0 tomorrow. Just having a relaxing day with DH and kids but heading up to Cairns later in the week for a few days! Had to beg DH not to have a party!
Thanks for all of your kind words about my birthday crisis. I know it isn't a big deal in my heart but my biggest issue is still wanting to lose some weight but as Tabby said - I have all year at 30 to accomplish it! Thanks girls!
Well, kelsey has been a right pain today and she finally did the BIGGEST poo ever. It was so messy I had to give her a bath! No wonder she has been a grump - must have had a belly ache!
As for sleeping thru - Kelsey used to most nights but now has a similar patter to Cat and Cameron. She goes down about 7pm, feeds at 11pm and about 3.30am with wake up at 6.
Well, I'm off. Hoping to go for a walk with Kelsey and the dogs (should join you Cat!).
Take care...

Welcome Mrs T.
Cordelia - I think Caitlin sounds fine too. She just looks so beautifully, feminine and petite.
Flicka - Hope you have a lovely day tomorrow. I too have 5 kgs to lose - they just won't seem to budge! Am determined they are to come off before I start to TTC, otherwise I think I will probably add to the weight and will end up huge!
Us - G has been a bit odd today. Very very vomity and sooky. I took her temperature - and all was fine, so not quite sure what is going on. I also put my back out last night when picking her up from her cot. And she is only about 6kg! How am I going to cope as she gets older!!! If its still sore tomorrow am going to make an appointment with physio. I have a headache too - but suspect its related to my back.
No other news from me. Hope everyone is well.

Hi everyone
Welcome Mrs T, Im pretty new here too and everyone seems lovely!!
Well Macy and I have just got back from our visit to her Paed. He's not worried about her VSD at all but is making some referrals for her to Pulmonary & ENT specialists about her breathing. Then they can run some tests to determine what is causing her funny noises, blueness etc and whether or not we need to do anything further. The Paed doesnt think it will be anything that wont fix itself overtime. Apart from that she is going really well. She has put on 900g since 18/4 and 5cm! :smiliedance:
Her weight is a big relief as i was starting to get a bit worried with everyone commenting about how small she is. Her cousin is very small as well. She turned 2 in Feb and only gained 1kg in the last year!
I cant remember names [yes im hopeless with them] but if your bubs is settling without their dummy i think that is great :yelclap: If they want it back again then thats ok too. Same as the poos, Macy's change daily especially when i was BF. I think that depended on what i had eaten LOL
Anyways, i think i might go start making some curried sausages while Macy is happy in her jolly jumper and Jozef is watching Star Wars. THe weather here is horrible and some comfort food is in order for dinner
happybirthday for tomorrow Flicka. Wow, I think you've done heaps in your 30 years - more than I had anyway! I'm 40 next year  and only just getting there myself.
well it seems Hamish isn't alone in his eating and sleeping pattern at the moment which kind of makes me feel better although could still do with more sleep of course. he's been a bit sickie lately, lots of little :barf:which is unusual for him. i'm tryinh the Brauers stomch calm to see if it helps. He's about 8kg now (dodgy home scales reading) at 20 1/2 weeks.
Welcome back Karrina. How are yu goijng to manage the BF when you go back to work? I've been offered a tempting part time job but am not really keen to muck up Hamish's sleeping and feeding routines just yet. It will have to happen some time though.
Tabby, hope the humiifier is ok? Did you meet my step-defacto-daughter-in-law? crazy family.
Well we finally had a 2 hour afternoon sleep yesterday - in the car in the pots r us carpark...all tuckered out after swimming lessons. I didn't have the heart to wake him so put the driver's seat down and had a nap myself!!
best to all kx

korah - good luck with the other specialists :fingerscrossed: there will be great news!
Flicka - happybirthday i too had a bit of crisis when i turned 30!! will be turning 33 this year so have got over it!!! lol

us - geoffrey is having great sleeps!! last four nights (& counting!!!) have been 12 hours, with one little wakeup and feed for 5mins at about 2.30am....ahhh i am starting to feel human and amazing how much energy you have!!
Tabby, hope the humiifier is ok? Did you meet my step-defacto-daughter-in-law? crazy family.

LOL Kelly, well done on the catching a nap when you can, might have to try that myself next time.
Nope didnt meet her,it was a he who rang me back as she had forgotten to get back to me and he was also the one to greet me at the door with it. Only last night actually he rang so i buzzed over there right away. Havnt had a chance to look at it as yet, probably give it a try on the w.e.
I dont even want to say my age for this yr!!! 44!! but I have reached a place in my life where am TOTALLY happy, just took me a bit longer to get there so thats ok lol
uhoh Katie's nap time, back later
Welcome Mrs T nice to have you here
happybirthday Flicka hope you have a wonderful day (gotta be better than my bday - separation day )
Freddie I am lucky that my 18 hours part time will mainly be working from home (apart from 1 day) when both kids go to childcare. I guess I will express that day, I don't mind if Billy has some formula that day as he has been exclusively BF so far and it is hard to manage BF routines with work.
Pretty quiet in here today - busy mums and bubs:rolleyes: I guess
My mum and dad have offered to help me out with my debts to assist me in taking over the mortage from x DH, thank god for parents  I am 34 years old and still need to be saved :( God help me if Imani makes some of the silly decisions I have made in my life...

Victoria - :hugs: for the needles tomorrow.
Mrs T- Hello and welcome. Looking forward to chatting to you.
Cordelia - I wouldn't worry about the weight issue. Sounds like she's going to be a petite little girl.
Flicka - happybirthday for tomorrow. I hope you have a wonderful day.
Liviesmum - Good to hear from you. Glad things are going well for you all.
Korahblue - So pleased your appointment with the paed went well.
As for us. Not much happening here. Talon had a 3 hour sleep this afternoon  Which is a first as he only has power naps during the day. Can't complain cause he still sleeps 10 hours a night. T is on weetbixs now (only because i ran out of farex) he loves them. T is talking heaps and he has said mum a couple of times. Which was cute hearing for the first time. I haven't had any morning sickness yet just feeling queasy during the evenings. I never had any morning sickness with T either, so maybe its another boy :smiliedance:
Anyway enough from me. I'm going to make myself a hot choccy and watch some telly before curling up in bed.
Take care all
Kel
cheeki ... how are your fingers this morning? superglue really sticks doesn't it?
JOSHUA ROLLED!! Yep, He chose last night when we were out at a friends house to roll from his back to his tummy. He's been getting onto his side for weeks but never quite going any further. He was getting more and more frustrated that he couldn't roll in recent days. Just before we went out he rolled, touched his hip to the ground (almost flat on his tummy) and rolled back milliseconds later. Then later, at our friends house he really rolled over and ended up lying happily on his tummy. The little show off ended up doing it 3 times :). He slept a lot better overnight, so maybe his night waking was also due to the fact that he was about to reach a milestone.
You would never believe what i did last night I superglued my fingers to the actual superglue tube trying to stick laminate thingy back on the cupboard and it didn't even stick hahaha but my fingers sure got stuck tube and tea towel i tried to wipe it off with LOL DH brings in petrol tin saying dip ur hand in and it will get it off - i was like nooooooooo way are u mad hahaha i got it off with a little tiny bit of skin as well but all is well LOL
lol cheeky! My dad did that and even got em stuck to the table! It was even stronger than superglue, some industrial one from his work.
Glad alls well ya silly chook lol
Karrina: Those "silly" decisions help us learn in life hun  wonderful parents! dont worry mine still help us out financially ( when dp lost job etc )and im 44!
Strawberry: wow what a lovely nap from Talon!
mim: :yelclap: for Josh!! lol he knew when to do it! When there was more ppl to see his cleverness!
Katie doesnt do it anymore, she just gets the right over to the side to look around but soon as she feels it she rolls back , always did hate tummy time lol. But shes almost sitting unsupported so thats good. Can see it in my album where shes on the lounge unsupported, just pillows rnd her just in case.
Teething again! The teeth keep going up/down!
Runny poos and grizzly, she was even moaning and stuff all night which is very unusual of her, all ever hear overnight monitor is the odd groan then fart then silence again
Off out again today, thats 3 days in a row but am trying to help organize the ds1's new car, today hopefully is last, im going for one more test drive then go over the warranty and inspect the car a bit more after a long drive. If alls ok we pick up tonight. oh my does this car have some grunt!! YES im a tomboy lol
Am glad ds1 is very responsible, if was ds2 buying this car I would be worried lol
ARRRGGGGG!!
Good morning all! I must be slow, but i just noticed that Talon is going to have a bro or sis....congrats!
Im very frazzled at the moment. Tom is not sleeping and has discovered this ear peircing screech which is killing me. I just successfully ignored it then and he calmed down by himself. Thus the Arggg at the top!
Tom is 7kg now which im really stoked about.
Im moving this week and just started a job 2 days a week, so im pretty wrecked, plus i got my periods back which really suprised me!
Congrats on bubba rolling mim!
happybirthday Flicka
How are you going Karrina? Its really great that your parents are helping you out. Mine do that too....dad has given me a job. I hope i can help Tom if he needs it too.
Congrats Jackstar on bub sleeping so well.
Hope everyone is well.
Happy Birthday Flicka !!!!!
Hope you have a great day. xx

Good morning evryone.
happybirthday Flicka, enjoy your day. Hope you got agood nights sleep.
Tabby: Hope all goes well with DS1 and his car. we are selling a car at the moment so I can sort of understand all the running around. :hugs: For Katie and those teeth.
Cheeki: Hope the fingers are Ok. I must say I did have a chuckle at the mental picture. Its somthing that I would do.
Well we had our first roll today. I missed it:thumbsdown: . I put her on her tummy and went to gether bottle. When I turned around she was back on her back. She looked really confused. I cant believe I missed it. I tried to get her to do it again but of course not. Mim1 we need lessons from Josh on how to perform in public. Well Done to him. Hopefully she will do it agin for me later. As for the dummy, it didnt last she needed it to go to sleep last night. Oh well will see what happens.
Have a great day all.
Happy 30th Flicka!
At least you aren't PG at yours! I was still suffering 'all day' sickness but at least I had 3 other friends at my celebration all PG too! Made me feel better that I wasn't the only one not allowed to over-indulge (oh how I used to love a drink or 10 LOL)
Mim, Big congrats to Josh on his roll, M is at the side stage.
Tabby, have fun test driving the car!
Acacia, 7kg is awesome!
Cheeki, hopefully there won't be a next time but nail polish remover works on superglue I think!
Strawberry, glad you don't get sick, there's not much worse and B used to mimic me too!
Karrina, Lucky your parents can help, we always seem to be helping DH's parents who are pathetic with money. Meanwhile DH and I are in debt up to our eyeballs (without a mortgage) and they are debt free! If they ever ask for help again I am going to let them have it!
happybirthday flicka!
victoria ... don't worry you'll see a roll soon! Josh tricked me this morning. I left him on his mat and went out of the room for a couple of minutes. I heard dh go in and talk to josh for part of that time, so when I came back and found josh with his body is a completely different position I assumed dh had moved him. I went and got dh and by the time we got back (maybe 20 seconds) he'd moved again and by now his head was where his legs were and vice versa ... and he was about to roll onto his tummy. He wouldn't do it though, oh well.
Does anyone else have a biter? Josh decided that he liked biting me this afternoon. He bit me over and over again (maybe 7 times) instead of attaching and starting a feed. I burped him a few times, but he still bit me ... I gave him one last go and thankfully he attached properly and fed well, but what do I do to stop it happening again? I'm so glad he doesn't have teeth!
Mim, C doesn't bite me exactly but sometimes if he's distracted (or not interested in a feed) he attaches then lets go apart from his gums which he clamps down on the nipple while he twists and turns his head  . I am not made of rubber little man!!
My mum's bit of advice if he does start biting was not to give a big reaction - otherwise they may find it funny & keep doing it! Other suggestions I've heard are to remove them from the breast and give a firm 'NO' each time they do it. Reattach and if still keeps biting put them down and try again in 5mins. Will hopefully learn that biting = no booby. :fingerscrossed:
C finally rolled from front to back again last night after first doing it over a month ago now. And DH missed it again. I'm sure he thinks I make it up.
Hi-ya,
After a few days AWOL, I'm back. MIL & FIL flew out again Monday night and DH flew out Tues morning (very early). I've zipped through 10 pages so if I miss anyone's achievements over the past 5 days I'm sorry:
Tabby...good to hear you got the sleep-in thing sorted. We came to the one day a weekend each arrangement in DD1's first year. I always choose to sleep in on Sun, as I'm off shopping saturday mornings.
Hels...R looks so cute in his bumbo
Bex...thanks for the info about being ready for solids and sucking their fist. TJ has been doing this for a while and I've been trying them off and on for a while, but she still hasn't got the hang of it. Tried some apple in the mesh-ring thing and she just chewed on the ring, lol.
Wecome Mrs t
Victoria...how's the no-dummy going? as others have suggested I'd put it aside if bub isn't really interested in it.
Cordellia...Don't worry about C's weight gain and growth. You saw how little DD1 is at our last meet. She's always been, and always will be in the bottom 3% for her age. Some little girls are meant to be petite, and C is just one of them:hugs: .
Charis...hope you're doing ok. PM me with details of the next meet when it has been decided.
TJ's had some so-so nights recently. It's DD1 I'm having problems with again. Down below seems to have sorted itself out by changing her diet. We're at home today as she had a headache from Sunday to Tuesday (threw up in her bed sunday night from it). Took her to the Chiro this morning, he's adjusted her, so hopefully she starts to feel better soon. If it's not one thing it's another at the moment, feel like I should have a permanent weekly booking at the docs.
Drinking cups...when Tabby mentioned this I :banghead: should have posted some time ago my thoughts and opinions on drinking cups before people spent a fortune on them. I tried Avent sippers and Heinz baby basics with the insterted valves in them and DD1 couldn't get the hang of them. DD1 needed more suck than she had to get anything out of them. Instead I used Early Years sippers that had a little plastic valve with a cut. They were much easier for her to suck through. Can't find them this time, instead found a Pigeon MagMag sipper today that works in the same way. Paid $11 at Chemist arehoue today. You can buy replacement spouts and straws as the next step. Tabby, if you want to try the avent sippers (insert into bottle, with handles), I'll bring them to our next meet.
Had better go, might as well make the most of having TJ at daycare and do some cleaning.
Lisa
Forgot to add happybirthday to Flicka.
DD1 has started writing her name (with no example or prompting the next letter) all by herself in the past few days. Very clever I think:yelclap: (IMO).

Welcome Mrs T
happybirthday Flicka, hope it's a good one!
Victoria - R doesn't want his dummy much anymore (he has the Avent ones). So I tried him with a cheap Happy Baby brand which he seems to like more (it is more rounded). But I don't mind if he wants to grow out of them soon anyway.
Mouse - Congrats to DD1 on writing her name :yelclap: and thanks for the info on the sipper cups, I already like the pigeon range.
Us - I have had a horrible 24 hours. Started with a bad headache that turned into a full on migraine. I was up every 4 hours in the night popping pills but nothing worked. Today I had to call DH to come home from work as I had to go to bed. When he got home he found me practically passed out in bed, thankfully R was happily playing with his toys (on the bed). He then decided to sleep for 2 hours which was quite annoying seeing as DH had just got home! But R has been an angel today and has stuck to his 2 hours awake/2 hours asleep routine. I couldn't go to my Mother's group meet this arvo which was a shame. They probably think I don't like them or something lol.
Anyway, I turned the corner this arvo and was able to get up and start functioning again.
R has his 4 month needles tomorrow, so not looking forward to that at all :(
BTW, I have been using Babylove nappies (crawler) and I actually prefer them to Huggies. They are less bulky but still hold it all.
fabulous Flicka a very Happy Birthday to you. Wonderful day to you. Sounds like you are v fabulous..and only 30!!! A wonderful place to be.
Thanx all for the concern, speaking of which how are you going Hels?? I txted back Aries (sweetiepie!) saying H got a fever and then a cold after his shots last week and somehow started not settling till 11pm for 3 nights in a row. So I was getting no bubhub time and work is a bit full-on at the moment. Was certainly missing my time out!
So..Hugs Aries for the happy + sad result :)
SammyG+Cheek28 commiserations about the outlaws/inlaws. yikes. The nieces + nephews certainly sound a handful!!Gosh.
Great about the long sleeps Jacstar and Freddie albiet the carpark one, :smiliedance: Pity you can't take shots of Hamish swimming..I guess no hands free.
Tabby yummy new car smell !! Great about the crawling preparation! I so need to get to my list. At least have a list.Thanx for wondering where we were !! All good. xx
Jenko hope the move goes well. Wow, big deal with your two! New room for DD
Yes ditto to Mim1 + Cat13 Hunter also does the jaw clamp and head turn, nipple elasticity test.
StrawbShortcake great you can curl up at night. Special time for you all. Is there sugar in weetbix? hmm I guess not they don;t taste like they do.
Karrina YAH great to see you back, hope DDs eyes okay, awesome about work and feeling more relaxed without x-dp, I know the feeling, about not tiptoeing around. Hugs for this time!!
Cate great about A getting babysat at night.
MouseBrown hope yr clever name writing DD starts feeling all well v soon.
Will PM Perthies v soon, looks like 11th or 12th...including Bex v soon. In terms of multi-tasking the meet, I live near the river for bigger DDs and DSs.
Cordelia hope the food is going really well :)
Oh us..besides work..and this darn cute little boy I find I now live with..he is exceptionally vigorous with his 'new' teddy bear mobile, they get thrashed up and down, poor teddies! Oh and after accidental rolls can roll from back to side, legs over, but arms get stuck. Oh and he now makes creaking sounds to put himself to sleep, if in car, or dummy out. Oh and lots of MUMmummummumumum but here it definitely means I'm uncomfy..maybe there is a connection to us all (wonderMums) then fixing it. Happy day + night.xx
oops Hels there you are, gosh great you're over the worst of the migraine and R is back to normal too. Am sure you'll make up for Mothers Group with further meets with them. Does it feel to everyone (who goes to them) that we and the others haved aged in this time, IYKWIM, like in the beginning we and the bubds all seemed so young. Now we look older and wiser. hee hehe.

Before I start trying to catch up on all the posts I will say hi and give a quick update on how we are doing....
Tried Clea on organic rice cereal today. I feel a bit dissapointed because I really wanted to wait as there are so many health issues surrounding the early introduction of food. But she was showing all the signs of needing something more. After her night feed (both boobs) she would wake an hour later for another feed. She was also reaching for food etc etc. Anyway, it went really well. First feed this morning she didnt really swollow any she just tried to work out her tongue and this afternoon she was leaning towards the spoo with her mouth open. She ate about 2 teaspoons full and had all of her usual booby feeds. So I am sure I have done the right thing. Now to slowly start fruit and vege.
DH is going to Germany next monday and I am going about 3-4 weeks later. We will work out the exact date once he arrives and works out our temporary accom. Excited and nervous about living abroad, but more excited than nervous!
Hi
Loved, Loved LOVED all of the wondeful birthday wishes from you terrific ladies here on the 'hub. You guys are so great!!!
Had a lovely birthday. Very spoilt by my kids and DH. DS made me a great b'day card at daycare that he was so excited to give me followed by gorgeous diamond earrings (little ones) from my DH. What a sweetie. Lunch out with DH and Kelsey followed by roast dinner and a chocolate cake made by DH FROM SCRATCH!!! Plus have 2 nights away on fri and sat to look forward to. And after all of your lovely kind words am feeling fab AND 30 (but not feeling 30 on the inside). Last night told DH to snuggle up as last time sleeping with a girl in her 20's!!!
Nipple cripples - Oh, yes ladies. Kelsey can give some painful gummy nipple cripples when she wants. And I'm afraid sometimes it can get worse with teeth. I just do the remove and firm "NO" before starting again. Once DS had teeth I actually screamed "OUCH" on purpose when he bit to scare him - he cried but never bit again.
Solids - I am so tempted to start Kelsey. She is watching food and reaching out for drinks (no more cups of tea here in case of an accident. I actually spilt a hot coffee on DS when 5 months old but that's another story!). I think I might just wait another week as after a few restless nights that I thought were due to hunger, she slept really well last night.
Well, of to convince DH I need a birthday foot massage!
Oh, and by the way Cheeki, I nearly wet my pants over the superglue incident (note to self - resume pelvic floor exercises!)
Ands lastly big hugs to Hels for her terrible migraine and Reece for his needles tomorrow!
Glad to see Charis back - missed you the last few days!
And :hugs: to anyone I forgot to mention in my speedy post! Thanks again for the birthday wishes!!!:)
Mouse: Hope things improve with dds soon for you
and YES to the avent cup accessories, I was actually going to email them tomorrow for stockists as havnt been able to find any over this way. so yes please!
Cheeki: Now if it was ds2 that was looking at this car I would be worried terribly! ds1 is a very responsible young man so have no doubts he will behave, ds2 is 2 yrs away!!!! Better stock up on the valium for it now lol
lol cheeki, Hope your feeling bit more relaxed now xxx
hels: :hugs: for needles tomorrow! Hope your still feeling better and :hugs: for you too!
We just got baby love this past saturday too! Just as good as huggies imo, cheaper so probably stick to them now.
Charis!! Glad to hear from yous, sorry to hear H wasnt so well but alls good now yay!
any date/time is fine for me.
Us: Was a great day out, I gave the car the all clear so ds1 has made the deposit and we pick up on saturday, boy does that car have some GRUNT! I felt like a kid in a candy shop hahhahaha. Its a Toyota Soarer ( asian import )
twin turbo. Hes only his "L's at the moment so Mum had better drive it heaps so not just sitting there lol!
Anyhow sorry if missed anyone! My back is playing up, think because so many days out and not rested at all, the plate in my neck plays up if I dont! Day home tomorrow ( declined morning tea with parents ) to recoup!
Katie is still awake! She went to bed early 630 and napped for half now she thinks its wake time and wont settle so better go rescue from dp :(

welcome megan ... new january mums are welcome at any time !
tabby ... your night sounds like ours. Josh just didn't want to sleep yesterday, instead he wanted to grizzle and scream. dh stayed up with him til midnight cause he just would not go to sleep after his feed at 9pm. It's been a long time since he's been that bad.
Hey Megan, Our little ones share a birthday! Welcome!!!

Hi there, I am home today, it is my day off and I thought I would get on quickly before I start marking the rest of my exam papers!!
Strawberry- Congrats on the new pregnancy- how exciting! Another Jan due bub. It can get diificult so close to Christmas but you make the most of every year that passes. I am in Jan, DD1 is in Jan and Bridget is in Jan- we alao have our anniversary in JAN! Big month for us.
Had a bad night with Bridget last night. She seems to be teething. She is really unsettled and tries to chew on anything she can grasp. She has a mean bite on her too- just ask my nipples! Bridget screamed most of the night, so I had her craddled in my arms. This leads to sore shoulder blades and neck- I have been good always sleeping her in her bed since day one but last night it was easier. I think my biggest block of sleep last night was from 6-7:30am.
Bridget usually sleeps all night so I guess a bad night every now and then is not so bad.
Bridget is not rolling over at 19 weeks, close but not there yet. Is that late? DD1 rolled at 3 months but probably really early.
Will go; hope you are all well.
Morning all,
Welcome Megan! as said never to late for another.
Cheeki: Sounds like a blissful day! Hope it stays that way, send some vibes my way for one as well.
I need it! My neck/shoulders still sore, no idea whats peed it off, been yrs since trouble and even pregnancy had no problems.
liviesmum: we had a few rolls some weeks ago then nothing! Its like she never did it, as cheeki says we get 360's and sorts instead now lol. Dont worry am sure rolls are not far off
ok gotta run , sounds like the morning cat nap time for Katie.
Am hoping for a decent one as have tons of calls to make regards car insurance for son, modded import car = trying to get insurance without selling one of my kidneys haha.
back later!
xx
woah, now this is quiet! Where is everyone? lol
Ive been on the go since last post, so much for my restful day haha. Tomorrow is no better, be good when hes finally got his P's and can do everything himself.

Hi everyone and welcome Megan.
Liviesmum - G doesn't roll either. She will twist onto her side from her back, but thats all. She's not a fan of tummy time - and now when we do try it, she just lies there with her head turned to the side smiling - she doesn't even bother to lift her head anymore!! Lazy bugger. Very cute though!
Flicka - glad you had a lovely 30th.
Us - G is constipated poor little chick (hasn't done a poo for a week!). So I gave her some diluted prune juice this morning. Wouldn't take it from a bottle, but did take it from a "juice spoon" from the pigeon range. Who was saying they liked that range? Because I agree. The juice hasn't worked yet, but fingers crossed it will soon!
Nothing else to report here.
Elle xx
Hi
Speaking of rolling over - kelsey finally did for the second time today. DH went to get her after her nap and she was on her back!
Megan - Welcome
Ellembee - Poor little G with her constipation. Hope the prune juice kicks in and she "works things out". Nothing worse bacuse you can't do much for them. Have you tried tummy massage and bicycle legs? Also read being fully immersed in a warm bath might help too???? You probably know all of this anyway!
Sippy Cups - I have been looking at them too lately. Found the heinz ones were also too difficult for DS to use when he was little. I think I ended up getting him a 'playtex' brand two handle cup. It has the valve on it to stop spills but isn't too hard for them to use. DS still has a large one that he uses at night time. Haven't seen any pigeon ones but will look out.
Also looking for some good little bowls for kelsey but haven't seen any yet. have some old tupperware ones from when DS was little but they really need updating. Any good ones out there?
Off to eat leftover b'day cake. Take care
Ellembee

Hi Flicka - yep, we have ben bicycling for days!!! All we get is wind (which is better than nothing, as I think it allievates some pressure). She gets an immersion bath everynight too. Even tried the "anus massage" with a wipey today.
Flicka - I got a great set of feeding things at kmart, out by Tommee Tipee, comes in a clear zip package. Cost $20 and got 4 of each of the following:
small containers with lids
medium containers with lids
large containers with lids (which also convert into drinking cups - with spouts)
forks
spoons
bowls with lids
plates ( with division for 3 types of food)
All microwave safe
They are ones that can either be reused or tossed, a real bargain I rekon! Considering that one plate can often cost close to the total price
I have also been using them for DD, and the containers are great for storing/freezing food.
Billy had an off day today, really hard to get him to sleep :(
It is really quiet in here...too much to fit in one day!
Hi-ya Girlies, hope you've all had a good day.
Welcome Megan
Feeding bowls...the best feeding bowls I had/have for DD1 were cheapies. In the $2 shops in the baby range, you can often find a 3 pack of little coloured bowls with clear lids. These are great while bub is still eating small amounts and for when you need to freeze small meals as they get bigger. Also love the cheap ($2) malamine (sp?) bowls you get. We've got about 10 bowls and 10 plates (horses, chickens, ducks, cows). Being cheap it doesn't matter if they get dropped and break. And sometimes you need lots as the dishwasher seems full of them. Saw some at Red Dot earlier this week.
Household Safety bits...While I'm ranting....before bub starts crawling and getting into everything I though I'd put my thoughts about the saftey things you can buy. I'd not bother with the rubber table corners (triangle looking things) as all the ones I've seen seem to have fallen of/been pulled off by child. Magnetic cupboard locks only seem to annoy the H@!! out of you. We got by with a $6 lock on the cleaning cupboard. For everything else, I just dealt with a firm "No", and removed DD1 from the offending area.
TJ had some more pear and banana rice for dinner. Was opening her mouth and swallowing most of it. :fingerscrossed: she has a good nights sleep tonight. Got 10 hours from her last night (8-6):smiliedance: , after a feed.
Have a great night, better go, too much :ecomcity: again.
Lisa
I knew I'd forget something:
Feeding bowls...I bought a suction bowl (Pooh from Kmart) for DD1, paid $12 for it. Wasn't even a minute before she had pulled it off the highchair.
Bunny Rugs...Any Perthies short on Bunny rugs? I have an over abundance of them if anyone is interested.
