View Full Version : Pregnancy tests
What do you guys think is the most effective and economical pregnancy tests available?
We have just begun ttc so the info will come in very handy I imagine!
I like clear blue easy, the white and blue one that shows up a positive as a blue cross, and 'Answer' are an alright brand too.
I don't know prices but I can say that you'll save money if you test as late as possible. A normal luteal phase (the time from O to bleeding) is 11-17 days so if you haven't bled after 17 days you will certainly get an accurate result and only have to use one test. I didn't wee on a stick at all with this pregnancy and that saved money too LOLOL. :)

Hello from my pup to yours, my gf did the clear blues a few months after we had our little girl and it came up negative, but shes preg again !!! But they're meant to be pretty good, I think you can be preg and it say you're not but if it says you are you def are, don't take that as fact though as I've over indulged on wine and beers tonight just my thoughts :) Good luck though ttc !

I was told that there are false negs but no false pos? I used Crystal Blue (it was the cheapest at the Pharmacy) and I got a 2 pack (you're usually so shocked you want a second pee opinion!)

I found the discover one step to be the most accurate, but even with a feint positive, you get the paranoia as to whether it is a positive or an evap line.. I was like this after about 5 tests!!!!! In the end, I went out and got a clearblue digital test - takes all the uess work and interpretation out of it and gives ou a straight answer - pregnant! or Not pregnant! I wish I had saved my money and just bought the digital to begin wih, it would have saved a lot of money and stress!!
I did try the ones from coles, they were good but I had a problem with the dye being purple, it meant that a feint positive showed up as a grey line, and they say that a grey line could be an evap line,... but they are quite cheap

Where do you get the digital ones from? I have never heard of them before? How much are they and how do they work?
I ebayed for Pregnancy tests and found a pack of 20 for $10 including postage, so I used those! :D Because they were cheap I didn't mind constantly peeing on them, I didn't feel like I was wasting money. and eventually it showed up a BFP :D
