Heyas,
When your bub is teething, how often can the baby paracetamol be given?
I know that you give it every 4-6 hrs but if your bub is having trouble sleeping and is in pain, are you able to use it over a period of several days at night or not?

Cheers :)

I wouldn't  There's herbal and natural remedies that are an alternative to paracetomol, and they work just as good - and there's no potential liver damage with them

I thought as much. Coolbeans. :)

Do you know if the Brauer Teething Relief is any good?

i use all their stuff on DD and it does work great.
you could try the teeting relief for a night or so then try their "calm" to help settle him for the rest of the week....that stuff puts DD to sleep pretty fast when she is a bit out of sorts

That's exactly what I use, and it does work (as far as I've seen). I use it instead of paracetomol, so just as a general pain reliever. I have given it to him when he's bumped his head hard, and also when he seemed to be in pain from his teeth. And it just seems to take the edge off, enough for him to fall asleep. So in my experience, it is great  It's a yummy taste too :D

have you tried bonjela? It's a gel that you can put on their gums for teething. You only use a tiny bit and I find it can really help. DD2 got her 1st two teeth at once!

Best wishes

I use the Brauers too. If it does get to much and the brauers is not working then I will use the panadol, but I like to use that as a last resort.

Thanks ladies!

I have tried bonjela a couple of times... it works for a little while but she tends to wake up and night and want to gnaw my fingers off. :D

Not sure if you have heard about the "gummy" its a dummy style thingy that has a bit for bubs to chew or bite on. This really helped Boof during bad nites etc also then meant he wasnt trying to chew his dummy to pieces & choke himself lol.

Its also a really good bonjella applicator which after nearly losing my fingers numerous amounts of times became a heaven send !

You can get them at chemists & Big W.

Good luck !

Frozen celery is good.

We used the works with dd1 - panadol, bonjela, etc.

With dd2 we decided none of that was worth it. Dd2 hasn't had anything besides the frozen celery, lots of cuddles, bfeeds, etc. We've had some pretty rough nights, but she's got through them well. Atm she has heaps of her molars coming through. There's really been no change in her behaviour at all.

Are you sure that it's teething pain? Could it possibly be something else? Teething often gets blamed for all sorts of things that we don't realise the bub is going through.

Hope your little one feels better soon:)

I'm pretty sure its teething, she has been gnawing like a MANIAC lately and gets very upset when I remove my finger from her grasp or sometimes she will just get upset and fling whatever she's chewing on.

Her gums are paler than usual and they squeak heaps when she chews my finger.

I'll see if I can find the gummy on the internet and have a look at it, cheers allyoo.

Cheers ladies!
