Im new to bubhub!

Hi, as you probably guessed I am the proud mummy to 6 week old baby boy Bailey!

He is a gorgeous little man and we love him to bits however having some problems with colic at the moment which is horrible. Poor little man, dont we all wish they could just tell us where it hurt and we could fix it!!! Is there anyone else sharing this problem and does anyone have any tips???

I live on the Gold Coast in Queensland and wondering if anyone on line is from the GC and knows of any good mothers groups around?

Also wishing to chat to ther mothers and share baby stories! Private mail me if your interested in having a chat!

Hello and welcome to bubhub!!! Firstly congratulations on your little bubba, I love that name Bailey, that was in my list for my DS ;) I am sorry to hear that he has colic/reflux (are they the same??), its not very fun, we went through the same thing... I guess some tips are to tilt his cot up a bit ie. put telephone books under the top to legs, try get all the wind out after a feed, gripe water is excellent - not very tasty, but it always had our little man burping like a trooper!! Maybe a warm bath or shower with mum and dad will help a bit, I can't remember if this is for relux or colic or both, but I was told to keep bubs upright after a feed for about half an hour, in one of those baby carriers... I found swings to be really settling for him, there were a couple nights where I would just let him sleep in there! Goodluck with it, and I hope the poor little tike feels better soon, yes it would be soooo much easier if they could tell us where it hurts!!! And welcome again!!!

Poor Bailey. Well only tip i have is when feedind either bottle or breast, do not feed for more than 4 minutes then burp, continue doing this with every feed and you'll see the difference! It worked with Khiana!

My daughter had colic, as she was bottle fed, I put 1 teaspoon of rice cereal in her bottle, (yes from about 6 weeks old too) and that helped her alot. It just thickens the milk a little and lines the stomach more.
