View Full Version : Help me complete my MCN's
Hi ladies,
I am having twins in July/August. I have started a collection of MCN's and currently have 10 BBB, 2 sm AIO's, 12 sm pockets, and terry cloth nappies glaore (but DH won't do terry cloth he says they always fall off). I was working off 12-18 a bub, which in minimum I have but am finding my BBB take forever to dry (DD is using them for just for rest time and going out as she is basically TT).
Some suggestions for where to head with my collection now would be great. More AIO's? More BB maybe hemp? I don't have stacks of money so love the one size nappies.
Any suggestions from users would be great,
Bec

Do you think you'll be going out a lot?
Because pockets and AIO's are great for going out.
Personally I'm not a fan of true AIO's, but I like AI2's with flip out absorbancy or snap in absorbancy like Itti Bittis or Berry Plushes....
For pockets, try looking on Buy For Baby (am I allowd to say that?) for a good but well-priced pockets.
i'd probably get more small stuff, because you'll probably find that with twins especially, it'll take a while before they're big enough to fit into the BBB. prefolds would be great when they're small, and can be reused as pocket stuffing once they're bigger, but your dh may think they're as bad as terry flats. ;) what covers do you have? a well-fitting cover makes all the difference with leaks, and being able to use your terries would be helpful for you, I think.
nb/small snappiable fitteds would probably be a useful addition too.
i guess it really depends whether you want to use all modern 'fitted' cloth or whether you think you can persuade your dh to use flats as well.

I would definatly suggest getting some snappiable fitteds - they are great for getting the right size - perhaps some mandy macs would be good for you, as they are snappiable one sized nappies, that are great for the price.
Thanks ladies,
I definitely don't plan on going out much (3 under 2 sounds like a recipe for disaster). So maybe I only need a couple of AIO's/AI2's. I like the look of the mandy mac, the bumgenuis pocket, and haute pocket, any experience with any of these. I just bought haute PUL covers and tot bots fleece covers, but would love some more, so suggestions are welcome.

I've only tried the Mandy Mac out of those.
Great nappy for the price - but quite trim so not as much absorbancy as say, a Baby Beehinds.
And I find using snappis a pain but I imagine on a newborn, they'd be excellent for a snug fit

For pul covers, I love Motherease Airflow:thumbsup: A great fit over terry flats too.
I saw that The Wee Wuns... gosh I hope it was them... were selling Snappi Nappy's for $10 each. I have no experience with them, but they look like have the same absorbancy as a terry flat (not much, but fine for a newborn needing frequent changes anyway) but much more user friendly, and with a snappi they look like you could get them fitting perfectly on a newborn
For a few smaller fitteds while the BBBs are still a bit too big, you could look at Cherub's Kiss newborn Rapheals- these look so cute and are pretty affordable (I think they come in packs of 3 and 5? Could be wrong!)
As for pockets, a OSFA like Green Kids are great- go for their trial pack if you decide to give these a go.
Don't forget you can get them 2nd hand (and 3rd and 4th!) from the nappy swap and sell section here!
