Can anyone recommend a good fold for night time use on a 4wk old baby?
I tried the Jo fold, but it tends to stick out of his pilchers. So I ended up using the triple absorbant fold.
Has anyone had success with this fold at nights?

On MJ (dont know if it would be different for a boy) I used the Jo fold with an extra nappy down the middle in a pad fold. Never had a problem with it.

I found the jo fold stuck out the side of his pilchers too much and I figured I'd end up changing his clothes in the middle of the night.
I stuck with the triple absorbant fold last night and it worked really well, MUCH better than those stupid Snugglers nappies I was having problems with.
I put it on him at 6pm and I changed him next at 2am......it wasn't even wet at the back. So I would call that a huge success!

Oh, Jodie, I was looking at that site this morning........some of those folds look like origami, lmao.
I know, I need the computer on in front of me, just to copy them, lmao..
Congrats on the nappy last night, woohoo, Ive started using flats, just so I can get them dried, as we have had rain so much here, unusually, I cant get anything dried as we havent cranked up the fire yet, so flats are working great with the bb pul or wool cover, whichever I grab..
Like I said before, theres one a comin for ya!
what is the triple fold by the way? gotta try that one, Im just using the Jo with a booster in the wetzone, but even my boosters are taking 2 days to dry, its so damp here atm.. (and weve only had 2 days of wet so far (but we've had approx 4inches in that 2 days), its scary, Ive got nappies laying on every surface)..
I have been using the bat fold (the traditional one with the boosting folded through the middle) on Thomas, nearly 3 weeks. It's working fine.
Are you folding bottom edge of the sides/wings to create about an inch gusset before you draw the wings around the front and do it up? that will reduce the poking out issue, and also reduce the chance of leaking as the fold creates a little pocket around the bum and legs to catch some poo. HTH.

Yep, I'm folding the sides in. I learnt to do that when I had my first baby as we had pee leakage central happening, lol.
I'll see if I can find a diagram of the triple absorbant fold, though it's probably called something else these days.

Just went through all the ones on that site you gave me, it is The Bat/Butterfly/Chinese Fold. It was called the triple absorbent fold when I did a nanny course at TAFE back in 96, lol. Damn I feel old, lmao.
i am sad that Olivia doesn't fit into the bat fold anymore! (or triple absorbant fold, so many names, lol). It worked so well, and was so easy to do... do you know how to change it to make it bigger??

I have no idea, I'll have to play around with it.

Sorry for butting in Jeanette, but Congrats Lucy on the arrival of Thomas, when was he born, and what date? you should come over to the april group and say hi!!
Yes, a diagram would be great, please Jeanette, whenever you have time, please!!

I love my mcn, but they are in reality, just too big for him to be comfy in, and for mum to justify the one wee changes, lol.

Hi! I used the bat/butterfly/chinese fold that is on the above site when DD was still v small- loved it! Not sure how it would be for a boy, but could be worth a try. I didnt use the jo fold until she grew out of this fold- the jo fold was not near as absorbant for us. Good luck!
