View Full Version : I'm a fool - stupid hot water wash!

I am so angry at myself at the moment. I did a load of nappies, and I wanted to "fluff" up and revive them, so I did a warm wash. Stupidly, I didn't leave out my orange Bright Bots nappy (it's a terry flat) and now all my BBB snap ins and nappy insides are orangey!:gloomy:

Will they eventually be white again? I am so furious with myself because there's nothing I can do to fix it. They can't be bleached, so now I'm stuck with several orange-tinged nappies. Logically I know it's stupid to care. I mean, they're just nappies, but I hate it when I make mistakes like that!

Please someone tell me that they've done the same thing and that the nappies eventually went back to the right colour :(

not quite the same but i had lots of white terry flats that were various shades of blue after getting washed with a dark blue terry flat. they eventually washed back to white, but not sure if bamboo will be different

After a few washes and line drying in the sun they should start to fade:)

Ooo where does one get this magic runaway stuff? :)

They are not nappies but I've just this very minute discovered that a bunch of Sarah's clothes have been stained off red because a red hat went through the wash with them by accident... :banghead:

Ooh I feel for you  I had a similar thing happen recently when DH put nappies in with something new and black, and even after washing and soaking, all the microfibre and aplix was dark grey!

I used Runaway (twice) and it got almost all of it out, the only things that stayed grey were the washtabs on my Bumgenius, for some strange reason!

You can get it at Woolies...there's one for coloureds (which is quite expensive!) and some smaller sachets for whites only.

I found Runaway for colours in Spotlight- I have a spare at all times now :D

Oh, I nearly forgot-

Please someone tell me that they've done the same thing and that the nappies eventually went back to the right colour :(

I did a similar thing - washed my newly tie-dyed purple flats in with my other nappies, not the smartest thing I have ever done  !!

But the good news is that after quite a few washes they have gone back to normal , so there is hope for you!!
