Ok I just bought my first baby beehinds bamboo. Everyone here raves on about them soooooo much that I went and bought one. So if it sux Im blaming all you guys lol:D
Its blue- heaps soft and nice. On the pamphlet it says that I need to wash it 3 times before use. But the lady at the shops said wash it 10 times before use to get maximum absorbancy:eek: So I think Ill wash it three times and let him wear it without maximum absorbancy for a while. If you buy mcn once every coouple of weeks like I do and wash them ten times I dont think that would be very water friendly. I may haveto put it in with a load of washing as I feel a bit guilty putting the machine on for 1 nappy!
How many times do you wash your baby beehinds before putting them on bub???

i wash mine about 4 to 5 times
I thought it was only the hemp ones that need to be washed that many times.

She said that about the bamboo one that I bought. But I wont be washing it that many times- I want to use it!!! And it will be raining for the next week so I cant hang it out to dry. So I will haveto do hot washes. Doh!
just chuck it in with your normal washing, that way it'll increase the absorbency quicker iykwim

ummm, i usually wash my new nappies once (maybe twice) before i use them. i only wash them if there is a load or at least a few new nappies.
there is nothing wrong with only washing once or twice, but just dont expect them to be as absorbant for the first few wears as they eventually will....kwim.
And it will be raining for the next week so I cant hang it out to dry. So I will haveto do hot washes. Doh!
I would still do cold washes for the initial washing.
I washed mine 3 times....but just threw it in with a normal wash so I didnt waste water. It meant waiting longer but oh well.....i hate the waiting, i hate the washing....i just want to get it on my bub!!!
I think I'm the odd one out!!
I know that the people who make the nappies I buy prewash all their materials, so I don't usually wash nappies before using them :o
so Ben tries it on, does the obligatory 'new nappy seal of approval' wee/poo, it then goes in the bucket to get washed with the next load, etc etc. maybe i'm just impatient, lol!:D

I just try and be patient and send it through the machine with every full load each day for a few days  Never a special load, no need for that. Since using MCN and washing them with 1/4 the recommended amount of powder (more is bad for them and causes build-up ect) I've realised that the rest of the washing is best done this same way  So nappies can go in with the clothes too- no dramas

i wash the 3 times.
with other clothes and things too.
so not by themselves
you dont have to wash them 10 times thats crazy
as he keeps wearing them and you keep washing them they'll just keep getting better!
i just washed them the one time, with normal laundry. they worked fine! but ds isn't a huge wee'er anyway.
i looooove my BBBs=D. they're my ultimate nappy.
