Adoption

There aren't any sections for Parents of Adopted Children - so I figure this is probably the best place to put this.

My husband and I dont want to have any more children after this one, but I'm sure that we will still want to extend our family. Adoption ticks all the boxes...

I'm just wondering how many hubbers have adopted? Or considered adoption? Would you adopt? Are you adopted?

PL i'm adopted and my "parents" adopted me when I was a few days old. One of the biggest things is that I know who my maternal mother is and is actually related to my dad's (adopted) SIL. She doesn't want to know me and even when I got my aunty to find out some health information for me she was not very forthcoming. It was not as if I wanted to meet her on anything I just wanted to find out health information as I was having some health problems during my first pregnancy.

Also eventhough my dad's (adopted) family has excepted me into their fold (we have alot of family who's adopted) my mum's (adopted) family has left me out of a lot of things. It hurts alot. Just remember if you do decide to adopt make sure you reassure your child that you love them and that eventhough they are not part of you physically they will always be part of you mentally

Dh and I would love to adopt! There are so many children out there in need of loving and caring homes and we would love to give them that!

Adoption is a beautiful thing and once we've finished having our biological children we will hopefully adopt or foster kids!
