Sorry for the tile - but today I went to DJ's to have bra "properly fitted" thinking that DS has been weaned for 5 months - nows a good time.........

Anyway before I was pregnant I was a 12c/d depending on brand of bra.

I find a sales assistant to measure me and she comes back and say 14a. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh..... I nearly cried.
I knew the once fuller bossoms had deflated a tad, but oh dear....

Anyway... I pull myself together and try on an assortment that she brings me......only to find that there is no way in hell - that the "girls" are fitting into the a cup........ :o

SOOOOO... I find her again and show her and she remeasures and promptly says - I must have been breathing in and a 12C is probably more accurate hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..... ........

By now I have wasted a good 30 mins and DH is back from looking around with DS and hovering in the bra section.

So after that sad little story - can anyone advise me as to where to get a good measurement from?

Wow, that's pretty bad service. I would be seriously complaining. I haven't been fitted for ages so I can't really help with advice.

I'm sure one of the many clever bubhubbians will know where you can get help though.

What about a 'speciality' store - like Bra's N Things? The assistants there seem to trip over themselves, they are so willing to help!

As for that sales assistant - *blows raspberry* - tell all your female friends about the experience and get them to boycott that section or the whole store for a little while!

wow - I'm surprised that you got such dodgy service from DJs!!!! usually Djs or Myers are the best places to go... (I HATE the young women in bras n things- I prefer the older women to measure me:rolleyes: ) - maybe she was just a useless assistant/?? maybe go back and get someone different??

I know when I was measured for a maturnity bra the lady at Djs fell over herself helping me!!

Yeh - strangely enough - the first time I went to be fitted for maternity bras - I had a lovely older sales assistant who actually used to be a midwife - but she wasn't there.

Will have to go back and "seek" her out! The sales assistant was quite young ( no offence to young ones) but that aside - I dont think the interest was there :)

I just got fitted the other day @ Myer's and the chick was great. I was so excited that I'd gone up a cupsize!!! She even suggested different bras to make the most of my new C cup clevage!!

Good luck, and glad it was a false alarm... but a 12C vs a 14A is a huuuuuge difference!!!!

I've had nice service at Bras N Things... maybe a couple of times I've gone to buy things some assistant was terrible, asked her where the nice staff had gone :D

Remember, retail is on rosters, so don't bag one store for a stupid staff mistake (trust me I've worked with so many ditzos it makes me cry!!).

I think also you can work out the measurements yourself - if you can do them accurately... ask around for a chart, or search online and DIY! :p

I'd go back to DJ's or even try Myer & yes head for the older women they always seem to know more IMO :p
Bra's & Things are ok but from previously working in retail i know they arent always up to scratch either & please if anyone has or does work for them no im not bagging you out just stating what i have seen/witnessed.

That is a big difference but I hate to say it but in my experience you go to myer dj and say bras and things and get varied sizes all in one day!! I have actually spent the day buying bras and got different sizes in each department. Write a letter and explain what has happened send it to head office with name of person maybe they will get refresher course....

Hi all! I have the same problem with bras. I've always been 'well endowed' - if lucky I fit into a 12 D, however, after having to stop breastfeeding suddenly at 6 months (medical reasons), my partners in crime have not gone down. It is incredibly hard to find a 12/14 E bra. Actually they are bigger than that - what comes after E? I'm too scared to find out! I have to wear a sports crop over the bra to keep the buggers in!! How long do they take to shrink anyway???
