Alex is 4 weks old.

Some nights he sleeps for 3 hrs with only a few grunts, the other nights he grunts loudly, as if in pain and vomits every 15 mins after feeding

Is it reflux, is it wind, we're not sure, etc....aghhh :banghead:

Have Tried:

Donnalix - stopped after a few days, apparently it is for colic

Gripe water - He gagged badly, and we freaked out, thinking he was choking or allergic to it

Infacol - Just started trying - 2 days in, not sure if any results yet

Any help appreciated...
PS seeing doc on tues, but love some feedback now

From my experiance some babies are just grunters. My DS was so bad we had to put him in his own room when he was 6 weeks old because it was keeping me awake.
AS for the vomiting it is definatly worth getting him checked by your Dr. The Dr will want to know about how his weight gain is, if he is unsettled during and after feeds, how much vomit and if it is projectile and how his wees and poos are, this will help to establish if he has reflux.
Some things you can try in the mean time are
- raising one end of the cot/bassenett so that his head is slightly elervated
- feed as upright as possible
- keep him upright for at least 20min after a feed

If his vomits get a lot worse and become projectile, his urineor poo out put decreases or he becomes very lethargic it worth getting him check out by a Dr as soon as you can.

Good luck I hope you get some answers on Tuesday

My son used to grunt, and almost spasm while doing so. It was when it was coming up and burning him... He had reflux, but nothing really helped.

Id get him checked on by your dr, hopefully they can give you a helping hand.
