My mum is married to a guy who works as a prison officer, naval background. Very alpha male. Anyway, he came over today and saw Liam's Honeyboy was on him, and asked what it was. I said it was a cloth nappy.

He was silent for a minute then told me that one of his co-workers wife is pregnant, and just spent $600 on MCN. Him and his co-workers had discussed about how great cloth is, and the big cost benefits of using MCN compared to dsposables.

So there you go. MCN love is spreading all around, and must be making a BIG impact if its being discussed in prisons during lunch breaks.

:smiliedance:

I've just started sewing lessons, and today took in a cloth nappy I made to show the lady. Everyone was really amazed and told me to start making them for money
They couldn't believe it when I told them that there are already hundreds of brands out there!

Slowly slowly...
Its awesome isn't it?
My hubby likes to talk about them its amusing.
Conversation on the phone to his best friend's dear wife -
"Kym has given up on disposable nappies"
"She uses what are they called...those old ones they used to use...but they work like disposables with straps" (I am trying not to laugh)
"Oh yes cloth nappies ...but they are made from hemp and ummm bamboo I think, modern? modern cloth nappies"
"The best thing apart from not having to buy the disposables is that we don't fill up our bin, its great"
It was so cute really. Innocent advocacy. I am sure she wanted him to shut up though. She has 2 young kids both in disposable nappies. He always talks about breastfeeding and cloth and slings in such a way that he doesn't come across as 'better' iykwim. And it may be different cos he is a man too and he jokes about it .

Last night my Mum said it's strange they aren't sold in the shops.

I wish they were more 'out there'. If I could get good enough at making them I'd do markets around my area, and each nappy I sold I'd give out a pamphlet with all the internet links to introduce them to the wonderful world of cloth :D

Very random cheez...

And lol cute Kymmy...

DH and his work buddies (they work in a sheet metal factory) always look out for which nappy Bianca is wearing each day, DH says to me he 'doesn't like em' but then he's talking to his mates about them! LOL
