I hate my florist.I went there to get flowers for my friend and they were great so decided to use them for my wedding.
I paid a deposit then 2 weeks later put down another $20.I rung them a few weeks ago to check when to go in for final appointment.
When I got there they told me they had no record of me paying that $20:mad: They made it seem like I was lying.I mean seriously if I was gonna lie about paying money I would have said more than a measly $20
I just paid the final amount minus the $20 but they told me I had to bring the reciept back in.They seemed so disorganised, like they didnt know what they were doing.I had to ask to discuss the boquets, they didnt ask.I showed them a pic of how I want mine and they go"oh thats not a hand tied one like u paid for but we will try"
Then I just rung them coz I found my old recipet. The lady was like"oh they didnt charge you that $20 tho?' I said "no but they were doubting that I had"
She goes "well those extra stems you ordered(i added them to my order for table decorations) you only got charged $50 when it should have been 70"
Im like "oh dear" and she goes "well you got off on that one good"
Like its MY fault there staff cant add things up properly ON A CAULATOR!!!!
Im so annoyed,I want to tell them to shove it up their bum. They are making over $300 from me-what is their problem!!!

Eh see this is why I never bothered with a Florist for my wedding..

I just contacted the Brisbane Flower Market, ordered the flowers I wanted, and did them myself. Turned out beautifully and didn't cost me a bomb.

Hope it works out for you.. :fingerscrossed:

Yeah I thought about doing that but I didnt want the stress of having to pick up flowers and do them up on the wedding day.

ouch $300 is alot for bad service, I hope thoes flowers are exactly what your want when they are finnished,

when I was organising my flowers, I gave the person that was making them pics of what I wanted, and they did exactly as I asked, I was lucky, I only payed $80 for my arangement, the bridesmaids boquets and the sprays for the women and the button holes for the men,

I did them the day before, worked out beautifully. Then again I have a very handy MIL ;)

I think it cost us about $180.00 in total, that covered table decorations, my bouquet, flowers for my hair, 3 bridesmaids bouquets, flower girl's flowers, men's buttonholes..

Ahhh well.. isn't wedding planning fun. ;)

I'm a wedding florist. I have worked in a few different flower shops and there were always mistakes because there's too much going on. My advice (too late now, I know) would be to use a wedding and function florist who works from home. They don't have all the distrations of a shop, and you'll be dealing with the one person all the time. Or if you do go through a shop, find out who will be doing your flowers and make sure you deal with that person every time.

We didn't want to bother either for the same reasons... hence why we went one step further and went to Bunnings (believe it or not!) and bought some beautiful but fake flowers for the bouquets. No need to worry about florists, no need to worry about wilting flowers, no need to worry about storing them specially either. All up it cost us under $50
