Hi All,

this is my 3rd official post on bubhub. I joined today after reading this fantastic resource for about 8 months. 2006 is the year (fingers, toes, eyes, but not legs!! crossed) that DH and I conceive. We aren't officially trying as yet, but stay tuned.....

I'll just give a brief introduction before i go off posting in all of my favourite threads and just making a complete nusiance of myself.

I am 27. I have had a pretty hard time the last 5 years because i was diagnosed with a mandibular tumour and I have had to have 7 operations on it to get it right. 2 of them were major surgery (the longest being 10 hours). Somehow I have still managed to work full-time and I'm going back to uni this year part-time to do some post grad stuff. I think the support i had from my DH was the key to me leading an almost normal life. Somedays I do get a bit down, but I count myself very lucky because it could have been a lot worse!

At some point during all of these ops, my cycles went out of whack and i now have a cycle that can last between 28-50 days. Not good if you want to start TTC, am I right? We have put this down to the psychological stress, as well as the medications, anaesthetics, lack of nutirition (having to eat puree for about 1 year out of those 5 would do that :p ) so on and so forth.

I am waiting on the results to come back from the blood tests I had on friday to see if my irregularity is due to a hormonal imbalance or something else. The dr also suggested we use Maybe Baby so I can see if I even ovulate (who knows!!)and when.

We are also waiting for me to have my final scheduled surgery and then get over that before we even think about TTC.

I decided to post today seeing as it is the first day of a new year(!!) and because as I said, I have been an avid reader for quite a while and I have not only had the benfits of getting some very important information, but I have seen the benefits it has for other ladies as well.

I hope that someone replies to my post here (Cosmic has already replied to my first ever post in the Conception section, and she suggested I come here because everyone is so friendly and nice......) and that I can be of some help to someone else down the track :)

So now that you have perservered and have read my sad and sorry tale, i hope to hear from you soon.

Take care and if you see a duck on the side of the road, say hello!

D :p

I'm still trying to get my head around typing as well as reading, and I already know how addictive this website can be. I have often heard DH tut and sigh when he realises what I've been doing on the computer for the last 2 hours!!!:D

Hi Everybody,

Wow - what an overwhelming repsonse from all of the hardcore bubhubbers :D
I just want to say thanks for the lovely welcome and thanks for the confidence it has given me to branch out into the other threads. I have just posted one in the pre-conception area (again) coz I have gotten the all clear form the blood test (yay!) and I needed some more info and I didn't want to clog up the welcome mat coz I can see more and more people join everyday  (nah, I'm not really that surprised).

Anyhoo, thanks again to you all and you'll most definitely hear from me again in the not too distant future.

hey,

coopsntilly - it was actually DH who got me onto Jakers! Of course we love the duck the best hehehehee I actually love the name Dannon for a girl, but to tell her we named her after a cartoon duck........
we were in Ireland recently and saw Jakers! plush toys - they were very cute and it was only the excess baggage costs that left poor old Ferny on the shelf :D

how old am I again????

Wattle - thanks for the greeting. Looking forward to joining in on many of your threads :O) Handsome little boy, BTW
