Hi All,
this is my 3rd official post on bubhub. I joined today after reading this fantastic resource for about 8 months. 2006 is the year (fingers, toes, eyes, but not legs!! crossed) that DH and I conceive. We aren't officially trying as yet, but stay tuned.....
I'll just give a brief introduction before i go off posting in all of my favourite threads and just making a complete nusiance of myself.
I am 27. I have had a pretty hard time the last 5 years because i was diagnosed with a mandibular tumour and I have had to have 7 operations on it to get it right. 2 of them were major surgery (the longest being 10 hours). Somehow I have still managed to work full-time and I'm going back to uni this year part-time to do some post grad stuff. I think the support i had from my DH was the key to me leading an almost normal life. Somedays I do get a bit down, but I count myself very lucky because it could have been a lot worse!
At some point during all of these ops, my cycles went out of whack and i now have a cycle that can last between 28-50 days. Not good if you want to start TTC, am I right? We have put this down to the psychological stress, as well as the medications, anaesthetics, lack of nutirition (having to eat puree for about 1 year out of those 5 would do that :p ) so on and so forth.
I am waiting on the results to come back from the blood tests I had on friday to see if my irregularity is due to a hormonal imbalance or something else. The dr also suggested we use Maybe Baby so I can see if I even ovulate (who knows!!)and when.
We are also waiting for me to have my final scheduled surgery and then get over that before we even think about TTC.
I decided to post today seeing as it is the first day of a new year(!!) and because as I said, I have been an avid reader for quite a while and I have not only had the benfits of getting some very important information, but I have seen the benefits it has for other ladies as well.
I hope that someone replies to my post here (Cosmic has already replied to my first ever post in the Conception section, and she suggested I come here because everyone is so friendly and nice......) and that I can be of some help to someone else down the track :)
So now that you have perservered and have read my sad and sorry tale, i hope to hear from you soon.
Take care and if you see a duck on the side of the road, say hello!
D :p
