Hi all Central Coast Mums and Dads.

Even though I am in Melb I wish to send my thoughts in regards to the fires at Woy Woy.

Hope everyone is safe and OK.

I lived in Horsefield Bay for 3yrs and Central Coast in total for 10yrs so still have strong ties with the area.

Please take care.

Your so thoughtful :)

I think most of us are up past Tuggerah luckily. This time of year is scary around here though. Always the smell of fire in the air :(

Because of the very close proximaty to where all my family links are it is so frightening being so far away and hearing snippets on the news.

It brings back horrid memories of the 1994 bushfires that I was caught in as well.

I also remember when I was about 13 one xmas holidays my sister and I were at home fighting (she was literally hitting my head into the wall) when we saw fire coming over the hills towards our house. We thought we were going to die so we made up again even though my head was now throbbing with pain and the size of the football. We had no car as mum was at work in Sydney. We ended up being evacuated and rescued by neighbours. Oh and the house remained unscathed thanks to the wonderful fire fighters both brigade and volunteers (they are angels in my opinion!!!)

The joys of living near bush!!

Well the fires got a bit too close for comfort for my mum. She's at Kariong & was on evacuation standby till after 2am  She lives on her own too & doesnt drive so was really scared. She called my BIL & he got out of bed to go get her at 11pm & they wouldnt let him into the area to get her  Too bad if something did happen.

She's safe & well now so all is good :)

Beat me to it with this thread :) I hope everyone's ok and stays that way! I fought the fires in 1994 in Chatswood and it was horrific. It really brings it back for me too.

How lucky were you.

At least the damage can be repaired.

Good luck and hope all works out soon.
