Well i made my very first MCN last night and DS is happily wearing it this morning. 2 hours and counting. I live remotely so my construction was probably unorthodox but so far so good.
Having never done anything like this before and not having a pattern to work from or any new supplies i used the following to make my AIO.
a baby blanket 100% cotton flannel
a shower curtain
a terry toweling nappy
velcro from a safety jacket
Basically i used part of the blanket for the very outside, then an internal layer of shower curtain. Then i put in my home made soaker pad which was 2 layers of terry toweling and 2 layers of flannel, followed by an internal layer of flannel.
Basically the nappy was made from 100% recycled materials. The only new things in the nappy were the thread and the elastic.
I am off to the big smoke on the weekend so will be picking up some sewing supplies. And after reading other threads have decided some polar fleece on the outside should sort me out. I think i will also go with some microfibre for the last layer.
