does the mini pill work??

:wave: Hello just wondering what you all think of the mini pill? is it affective?Im bf so i cant take normal one,also will it affect my milk? please help after 2 bubs in 2 yrs i dont really want a surprise!!:eek:

It does work - if you are STRICT with taking it. I didn't take it with DD 'cause i was told many sories about people falling prenant while on it. I ended up witht he implant, which I think affected my milk supply and my cycles.

With the mini-pill - you HAVE to take it at the same time every day (or at least within a few hrs) you CAN'T skip one without it becoming ineffective for 3days. So if you were meant to take it at 7am, and you didn't remember until 10:30 - you are NOT protected for the next 3 days. I will be getting it at my 6week appt with DS, and just making sure i am careful with it.

My Obs prescribed it for me after I had my son and it didn't affect my milk at all- she said it wouldn't.
But it prob only works if you actually take it! I kept forgetting so gave up in the end.

Yep worked for me too, I came off it just over 4 weeks ago after nearly 2 years on it.

The minipill worked fine for me until I dropped breastfeeding right off to one feed per day. Then I had problems with irregular/frequent periods etc and so went off of it. I also have a friend currently preg who had no problems with it until she also tailed off with the breast feeding and then got preg while still on the minipill.
