My son has just had stutures to his face, caused by a glass bottle falling on him. I was wandering if anyone knew of any good products for the treatment of scars etc would be much appreciated.
My poor boy.

Hello,
I don't have any ideas what to put on the scar but I can understand how you feel.
I have 3 children and 2 of them are scared. My eldest Samuel is 5 but when he was 20mths he feel and his tooth went all the way through his chin.
I was so worried about the scar but as he was so young it has faded quite alot and I am told it will keep fading. I hope so. My little girl who is 3yrs she fell and hit her chin and split it open right across the bottom. I was horrified. She had it stitched up as well and it was around 6 mths ago I think as bub was only a week or two old and she is now 7 mths. The scare i thought was going to be horrible. But it isn't to bad it is a raised a little but it is starting to blend in.
I know this isn't much comfort because I remember all the feelings I had about how it should never have happened and then they wouldn't have these scares but it did happen and they are fine. The thing they like best about it is showing it off to people and telling the story of how it happened. Funny thing is the story always changes so you never get sick of hearing it. If I ever do hear of a great idea I will let you know.
Emma
Thank you for the reply, much appreciated. :)

Hello again,
I just asked my mum I thought she might have something up her sleeve. She seems to think Vitamin E. She said she has known people to break capsuels open or just use noraml vitamin E cream. I wouldn't do either until it had sealed though.
Hope this helps.
Emma :)
Hi,
I am a very big fan of Vitamen E, it is a very good healer. I use it on just about anything. My father recently split his head open badly (although it wasn't bad enough for stiches), my mother applied Vit E to the wound from day 2 and it healed really well. We just buy the Vitamen E capsules and prick the end with a pin and squeeze out the oil.
AloeVera is also a good healing product. Why don't you talk to your chemist, they were the ones who introduced me to Vit E.
Hope this helps.

rose hip oil is meant to be really good for scar reduction. I know you can get it from the health food stores. I use it when I get pimples as I usually scar from them and it works for me. hope this helps :)

I don't know any natural rememdies for this one but Elastoplast put out a product that are special types of bandaids that minimise scaring.
I don't know if you remember the ex-neighbours star Madeline West who played the charactoer Dee, but when she got hit by a bus she used these special plasters by elastoplast and you can't see a scar at all. She obviously went on to promote the product.
I'm sure if you duck down to your local chemist they will be able to give you the exact name for them. I have seen them in the chemist but just can't remeber exactly what they are called but they were by Elastoplast.
I truly hope you little man heals quickly and of course without scars.
Best of luck
Tracey
