Help Needed

My 15 month old twins have been having several runny dirty nappies a day (some days more than others). Doctors said at first this was gastro, but after 3 weeks I seriously doubt it.

I was thinking it was a lactose allergy as I know that when they have had milk it does go straight through them, but i have had them off all milk, icecream, cheese etc for 2 weeks now and no improvement.

I am pretty sure it is a food intolerance, but not sure where to go from here. Today I am trying something different with not giving any bread / cereal just giving fruit and rice crackers etc and seeing how that goes.

Can I take them straight to an allergist or do I need to continue the road with doctors first.

I think, but I could be wrong, that you would need a referral from a GP, however if you are not getting any joy with the doctor you are currently seeing, try a second opinion.
