omgosh just saw in another thread that you're not meant to use "only" seatbelt in the car unless over 145cm! well thank god i grew those few extra cms! bet you're happy too hey jaimie! hehe sorry had to bring another shorty into it!
anyway the discussion is over when to take kids out of boosters.. wouldnt it just be so much easier if every seatbelt was replaced with 5point harnesses.. men wouldnt complain coz it'd be like driving a rally car

Hey ladies. I have read all the posts but have forgotten a lot of it seeing as though i cant multi qupte from the old thread.
LT - nup, Sam and I are still fighting. He just seems to switch off whenever i talk to him. Its starting to stress me out a bit.
Shezi - I just wanna say how sorry I am that the cast has taken so bloody long. I feel really bad about it. I think i have just let everything get on top of me and with the lack of help from sam i havent had that much time or motivation. Sorry again. :(
Well we had another big fight this afternoon (long story), and when i got home tonight he had left our garage door open! I wish someone had of stolen his 4 wheeler to teach him a lesson. (god im a b!tch!)
Im really grumpy so i think i might leave you gals to it. Night.

elmo, i hope it gets better, if its any consellation me and dh are having small 'run ins' too, so i think its normal.
i seem to be hoping for more help, and he seems to think he is dong heaps (which he is), but i need more, so i dont think we will ever agree.
or, we could just not be so hard on ourselves and pace the housework out, rather than try to be so perfect and have to get it done asap all the time (this is my problem).
i can only begin to imagine what your workload would be like, with a newborn and a toddler, so take it easy hun, and maybe give sam the silent treatment for awhile until he really wants to know whats wrong, then have a big heart to heart, and maybe then he will be ready to listen and take it on board?
kisses to you!

:hugs: lana, i hope the kids let you have a good sleep tonight..
and as for the cast dont be silly!! im in awe that you can actually find the time to do it in the first place! seriously dont rush. im more than happy to wait. the suspense is good for me :D
you shouldve hidden his 4wheeler!! :devil6:
guys just dont get it hey.. after chris's night last night he comes home today after work.. eats dinner which was already done(me & girls eat at 5 and he doesnt get home till atleast 5.30.. some days 6) watched a bit of tv.. had a shower and went to bed.. all before 7pm. it sounds really bad but i actually dont mind! i get more frustrated if he's awake and not helping me but if he's sleeping i just dont care coz its one less person to do things for and clean up after..
another night of D taking an hour to get to sleep.. havent worked her out hey.. she goes into her cot and straight to sleep at lunchtime but night time is terrible.. i have to sit there and pat her or rub her back and it takes forever! thankfully A goes to sleep for a big stretch by 7pm at the latest and usually doesnt wake till around midnight so i have the time to put D to sleep. M is so good thankfully! i read M & D books on M's bed then kiss cuddle say goodnight & she's asleep within minutes! although at D's age M was exactly the same as D is now but for day sleeps too so i shouldnt complain! maybe when A is D's age i might actually get it right!!
geez i get off topic.. im buggered anyway hehe.. goodnight all!!

thanks girls.
Firsttime - thats the thing, i have let the housework go a bit and thats part of the reason Sam is sh!tty with me. Apparently im being lazy and have more than enough time in the day to clean. I'd bloody well like to see him do it! He cant even manage putting his bloody work clothes in the laundry hamper that is in our bloody bedroom! :banghead:
Shezi - Thanks hun. And dont be silly, i will drive it down to you like i promised (my house isnt up to visitors anyway lol).
Anyways im off to bed now. Have a good night girls.

Seems to be the night for it girls! I was in trouble for not calming Kes down fast enough when he grizzled... I hope it's all just a passing phase with them though, so we can go back to our happy selves.
Saw the doc today as a kind of gross looking infection on my scar, seems it's just a stitch underneath that didn't dissolve that's causing it and the doc thinks he accidentally tore it our anyway! LOL, hopefully it heals up again soon.
Gorgeous pics being posted, Alexander looks like Mr Cool in that one, very cute!
Anyone starting to get a bit emotional over how quickly these babies are growing up? Maybe it's because Kes is so big (I know what you mean LT! He's really stacking it on!) or something, but it feels like he's practically a toddler some days... :o
So tired tonight, but don't feel like sleeping, don't you just hate that?

elmo - does he see what you do when he is home on the weekend?
i suggest save lots of washing, ironing, and general house duties for the weekend, then he HAS to pitch in and help. Surely he wouldnt sit and watch you do it?
did he actually SAY you were lazy, or just infer it? i would be quite upset if he said it, in those words.
thanks for the comments re the picture, he is a cutie.
His stats:
Birth weight 3715 grams
Birth length 49 cms
7 week weight 5550 grams
7 week length 56 cms
The clinic nurse called him a chubba, i prefer to say he is "thriving".

Firsttime - Yep, unfortunately he actually said that i was lazy. Even with him seeing that the housework is falling behind he wont doing anything about it, just whinge that i should do it. Coz i apparently have heaps of spare time during the day!
Gin - Yeah they do grow really fast hey.. I cant believe that i had Amity over 2 years ago!! And that Griffin is already 9 weeks old!!

I cant not believe how cute and chubby all the other bubs look! They are def. not newborns anymore:crying:
Iris looks really skinny in the body/legs/arms etc the only thing that is chubby are her cheeks
I know its coz of her length but she looks kinda scrawny:thumbsdown: hehehehe
Shez....My b'day on sunday
Firsttime....Im hoping for some nice earings to go with my new short short hair cut LOL
Emma.....Cooper is soooooo cute! I love his lil chubby wubby self:D
Shez....LOL about the seat belt hun you are such a riot:laughing:

She looks heaps older too coz of all her hair and shes so strong, during tummy time she can hold her head up for ages and turns and looks around then tries to roll over!!!
DH is taking O to the drive in tonight to see the Ninja turtles lol i think dh's more excited then O....O will probably sleep through the whole thing!

 i think sam & chris are twins!
Anyone starting to get a bit emotional over how quickly these babies are growing up?
yes! all of mine are growing up so quick.. i cant believe M starts kindy next year.. im going to have a 4yr old, 2yrold & almost 10month old at christmas!! scary! its only 6months till my girls birthdays in nov.
elmo - does he see what you do when he is home on the weekend?
i suggest save lots of washing, ironing, and general house duties for the weekend, then he HAS to pitch in and help. Surely he wouldnt sit and watch you do it?
well if sam is infact chris's twin yes he would sit there and watch lol.. or actually watch the tv.
Iris looks really skinny in the body/legs/arms etc the only thing that is chubby are her cheeks
I know its coz of her length but she looks kinda scrawny:thumbsdown: hehehehe
haha you're like me i think coz i was always like i'd never have a scrawny bub lol. even tho you know iris isnt!! she'll fill out a bit more once her length slows down hehe she's actually 10cm longer than A! and only 13cm short of D hehe!
could you post a pic of iris having her tummy time..(if you have one) i'd love to see it! she sounds adorable.
i hope Orlando has a great time tonight.. atleast you know your hubby will!

Hey Lana, you should express and leave both kids with him for a few hours!! he he and then ask him how much stuff he got done. Hope you have a better day together today and you can get on top of things. My ironing pile is starting to resemble a mountain!!
I'm very lucky as my DH is very appreciative of my job as a SAHM! And if I ask him to do something or help he will. He always takes DS everywhere with him on his days off so I can get things done. When I left both Jacey and Logan with him the other day when I got back the house was a bomb and I said to him how hard it is to do stuff with the both of them and he said he didnt know how I do things or kept the house in order.
We dont have playstations or anything and he only loves watching his fishing shows on the weekend. I had an Ex who loved playstions/xbox etc so I cant stand them.
Jacey slept through last night from 10pm to 5.45am and went back down at 6.30am till 9.30am so I got a really good sleep in. DH took DS to Maccas to play on the equipment there while I slept, and he had just come off night shift too so I'm very lucky. He is sleeping now though.
I do prefer her to go to bed earlier though and wake around 4am!
We have Jacey's needles and check up on Monday - I havent weighed her since she was 4 weeks. She is in a 00 outfit today  they are growing so fast.
Gorgeous pics everyone too - I love seeing how the bubs are growing and changing.
Shezi - Jacey's hair doesnt sit down at the back either - even after brushing it down after her bath - it springs back up once its dry. So cute though.
OK well have a good day

oh some guys are just clueless!! tell him to pay for a cleaner if he's that bothered by it!! "spare time"???? i only have one child and i struggle to get everything done.

Thanks for all the supporting words re Sam girls.
Taryn - I would express and leave them both with Sam but i would just sit there and worry whether or not he is looking after them properly. If he hears Griffin crying he just assumes that he must be hungry, he doesnt ever think that he could have a tummy ache or want his nappy changed or even just want cuddles.
LL - Lol, i have mentioned getting a cleaner before if he is that bothered by it and thats when he called me lazy!! It doesnt help when i have to continually clean up after him as well!
Griffin slept really well last night. He wwent to bed at about 10.30 and slept until 5.30am!! I didnt get to bed until 1am though coz i waited up for Sam to finish work., oh well.
He is smiling so much now and he always follows me when i move. I love it how babies have eyes only for their mummies. Makes you feel really special.

hi
cr*p day today. still in my pjs. leah woke 5 times in the night so sleep dep is starting to take hold big time and i am becoming very cranky plus shes been super unsettled today and wont sleep in her bassinet at all and so Im really torn between letting her cry a bit because Im loosing my sanity and my family is suffering or tending to her and just living with it the best I can becasue shes only 5 weeks old. Tough one IMO.
Tried to have a nap but some buggers up the road have a loud speaker system for some unknown reason and have been blaring music from it all day and blowing into the mic that goes with it. No idea what thats all about. This of course made all the dogs in the street bark all day so sleep has been a no-go.
firsttime, gorgous photo!
Sarah, Iris is a cutie.
Lana, sorry to hear you are having these issues with Sam. We have been at each others throats a bit too but at least dh has been trying to help out today albeit failing to get me some sleep.
ok going to try putting little miss down AGAIN.

Sarah, she is beautiful! And good on you for getting those pics posted
Sook time... I'm having trouble settling Kes, I think he has a sore mouth as after the initial head-first feeding frenzy he has taken to squealing and pushing me away, but keeps looking for food. Anyway, DH made a comment that he'd like me to work so he could stay home, and joked that he settled Kes better anyway (which at the moment is true), and it really got to me. Started feeling totally useless. I don't want to go out to work full time (not sure i could keep up expressing for a year either!) but with him being so upset lately and so unhappy sometimes when I hold him... it does kind of feel like they're better off with me not around.
I know I wont feel like this forever, in fact all it will take is one good evening of cuddles from my little bubba to fix everything, but currently feeling like cr@p. :gloomy:
I don't think I could handle being away from them for the entire day at some job, then again, why should he have to just because I don't want to? Should I go out to work so he can be a stay at home Dad?
*sigh*
It seems like a bad couple of days for some of us March Mums!
I hope you're all well though :)
XGin
*EDIT: Anna, I hope she's settling now, I think that the constant holding and sleep dep could be what's making me feel rubbish, so I imagine it's so much harder having a toddler too, good luck!
Hey Ladies!!
I am back, I can't remember the last time I was on here, so much to catch up on.
Baby Madison has been very sick since day one and has spent alot of time in the children's hospital. Madison was finally discharged last night as I couldn't stand her in there anylonger - she is still sick but already doing much better at home. She is a little angel!
I was just looking at everyone's pics - all of them are just gorgeous! Can't believe how time is flying by so quick, feels like they are growing up very fast indeed.
Hope everyone and their bubs are well, will catch up on the posts!

I cant really complain that much about dh as his the cook in the house, yes girls you heard right I DONT cook LOL well i can cook but its not really eatable hahahaha
Also dh does all the vacuming and dusting etc BUT thats more to do with my allergies:D
I know dh would def. make a better house wife then moi coz he actually likes doing all that stuff.....I prefer shopping LOL
He was very house trained when i got him, his mum taught him how to sew and knit and cook etc etc
BUT we did go through a time (just after O was born and i was at home for the first time in our r'ship)
when he expected me to become his mother and do everything for him etc
It caused alot of friction between us but he soon realised that just because i choose to stay at home mothering our chn doesnt mean i am the house slave:rolleyes:
They all have their good points and their bad:yes:

Just got O to bed after resorting to letting him watch the wizard of OZ coz dh had to work late (just got home a min ago) so O missed out on the drive in!
Anna.....hugs hun i do not envy you, Leah sounds laot like O, he used ot be up about 5-6 times every night I used to dread the dark hours!
BUT at least i didnt have an active toddler to deal with!
Hope tonight si much better!
Gin.....Hun you so need a :hugs: we all feel like this sometimes it comes with being a mum, we all second guess ourselves and feel useless sometimes.....it will pass hun
M2B......Im so sorry to hear Madison's been sick hun, im glad shes finally at home! :smiliedance:
Hospitals are no place to get better believe me i know O's been there way too much over the last two yrs!

M2B- so sorry to hear Madi has been unwell, it must be wonderful to have her home now! I hope she doesn't need too much more in the way of treatment, so you can get down to the lovely business of just enjoying her!

M2B - :hugs: Im glad that Madi is home and hopefuly on the mend. It must have been hard for you to see her so ill.. What was wrong with her (if you dont mind me asking that is)??
Gin - :hugs: As Sarah said, we all second guess ourselves as mums at some stage, it will pass though. Im glad that Kes has finally decided to settle for you. remember what i said to Caithi about babies sometimes settling better with others if their mummy is stressed out!? Dont forget that ok!! Its not that he doesnt want to be with you, its just that he is so in-tune with your feelings and emotions! :hugs:
We had another MASSIVE blow out but at least this one resulted in talking about it a little bit so thats always good. I know have some understanding of what is wrong. Just gotta work towards fixing it now.

Chear up bluegin. Wait till he gives you a big smile,
Frog teases me about being able to get toadlet to burp if I cant. I'm sure your dp doesn't really mean that he can do it better than you.
I got the little boy I always wanted.. Frog wanted a girl and it looks like toadlet is already a daddy's boy! Always smiling at him and staring it him all the time... Makes me feel good fro Frog though.
Firstime.. forot to say that phot is lovely! You look gorgeous. Always bizarre seing pics of mummies you haven't seen before.
Annsam.. if Leah is going to cry wether you are holding her or not, wouldn't it be best to put her down and cry so you can have a sleep instead? She may learn to settle herself and realise it isn't that bad being by herself. Always best for the baby if mummy is happy and rested. Hope you sort it out soon. It is distressing listening to your baby cry though.
M2B.. what's wrong with Maddison? Nothing serious I hope? How are you coping? Did you get to stay in the hospital with her? I'm sure she'll get better being at home with you.
DP took some really nice photos , this is my favourite so far: Baby blue with polka dot leg warmers. (http://www.flickr.com/photos/7918637@N06/466902624/)

at the same time i guess i have to remember dp is only 24 and has 3 daughters, works 5 or 6 days a week and pretty much hands over his pay to me(ofcourse i'd be happier without his damn debts tho!).. it is pretty big for him tho.. not many 24yr olds have to think about anyone bar themselves.. dp has me & our girls.. im sure he'll get better with age.. :fingerscrossed: haha

Morning girls.
Feeling much better today after mastering lying down feeding :yelclap: . She woke 3 times but it was much less disturbing for both of us as we both drifted back to sleep (only to wake with a jolt 2 hrs later because I thought Id sufficated her and to dream about breastfeeding other people :o ) Anyway. Had about 7 hrs all up and feeling much better.
BG, your DH probably can settle Kes better than you can at the moment. Young babies get very unsettled for their breastfeeding mothers because they can smell milk (you are breastfeeding aren't you?).
Re the squealing, are you full? Maybe hes just not getting a latch on properly? Sometimes they do get very frustrated at the breast until they get latched properly. Leahs the same when shes hungry, she has to be forced there a bit and kept there for a few seconds until she clicks that the boob is in her mouth.
As for the work, well, can't really answer that one but sounds like you are no where near ready to go down that path just yet.
M2B, was just thinking of you the other day. Hope your little miss is on the mend. Sorry to hear you have had a few rough weeks. :hugs:
Well today Im off for my first doula visit. Quite nervous actually. Its a friend so no issue and of course Im taking leah but Im having trouble trying to get my brain back into the pregnancy/birth mode rather than the newborn hazzy mode. Its my first job post-birth so thats a bit scary - the prospect of leaving both kids with DH for god only knows how long and at what time of day.
Anyway, best be doing stuff.
Have good days girls. Hope yoru day is better today BG.

Caithi - Thanks hun. Having all you gals on here and knowing that there is somewhere and someone i can talk to makes things a lot easier. Thanks to everyone for being there. :hugs:
Anna - Oh im so glad that you managed to get some sleep and that you have got the laying down feeding all sorted. It makes night feeds so much easier doesnt it!
Sarah - Yeah i know what you mean bout the age thing. I moved out when i was 16 and have been independent since then but Sam only moved out for the first time when he was 19/20 and that was with me!
Part of the problem that came up last night was the fact that he wants to go out (drinking) more with his mates. I compromised on it and said that he can have 1 Saturday per month where he can go out with his mates and do whatever. I will put money aside etc and he gets that set amount every month BUT it also means that i get the same amount which i will use to get a cleaner in once a fortnight to do a thorough clean. He was pretty happy with that as we both get what we want.
Unfortunately his mates dont realise that because he works 6 days a week i only get that saturday night and sunday to see him! That is the time that we get to spend as a family and its kind of hard to do if they are constantly asking him to go out on the town. Im sure they will all realise this when THEY finally have kids but until then i may as well be talking to a brick wall.

Lana & Shezi, I agree with the age thing too. Your partners are still young. Hubby and I only got together when I was 26 and he was 28. He was def not ready for committment etc before then as he loved pig chasing/fishing and drinking with his mates. If we had got together any earlier I doubt that we would've made it actually cause I was ready to settle down/have kids etc but he wasnt. So you guys are all doing pretty well and yes as you said Shezi I'm positive with age they will improve, you have plenty of time to train them up  and once their friends start having kids and getting married they will realise going out isnt what it used to be!
Lana glad things are on the mend and totally understand about seeing him only on the Sat night/Sunday. Last thing you want is a hungover partner for the day!! But once a month is a good compromise.
:hugs: to BG
M2B hope your little bub is a lot better now and continues to be.
Happy birthday Nemosmum - hope your day is full of love and lots of gifts :D
Jacey is still going well. went to bed earlier for me last night at 9pm and woke at 3am and then 7am, she's been having great days sleeps too.
Took both kids out for a walk yesterday arvo and it was so nice. Cant wait for winter so I can take them in the morning.

I hope you have a wonderful day mate, lots of relaxation with your little girl and lots of hugs and attention from your wonderful fellas!
March Mummas = advanced children!:yelclap:
Beautiful BG! Yo are this fantastic earth mother soul - and youare even very much needed by your on line friends - you are so worthwhile in everyones lives here
Thank you Caithi, that is a beautiful thing to say, and does make me feel quite a lot better actually!
As for advanced children, I was a real showoff after seeing the doc... Kes smiled at him and he nearly fell off his chair! LOL, he said "he's not meant to smile until 6 weeks! Might be an Einstein!" Hehe, funny how excited I was by one little comment!
BG, your DH probably can settle Kes better than you can at the moment. Young babies get very unsettled for their breastfeeding mothers because they can smell milk (you are breastfeeding aren't you?).
Re the squealing, are you full? Maybe hes just not getting a latch on properly?
I am breastfeeding, so smelling milk is an interesting (and sanity saving!) thought! As for the squealing, I do have one side that is almost permanently full, it's the fountain side, and the other is quite often full too... it could well be hard to latch, I wonder if after a few failed attempts he just gets upset and can't calm himself?
Thank you for helping :hugs:
Thank you all for being so kind and caring, I'm feeling almost 100% now (just a bit of post-blues emotion now), we had an alright night (DH woke me because me elbow was on Kes's cheek, thought I was hurting/smothering him :o he seemed happy though) and now DH is giving him a cuddle while I wake up!
Lana, that sounds like a good compromise, glad you were able to talk it out. It would be hard for Sam with his mates all going out, but don't be too hard on yourself either, I mean, you are a pretty amazing person the way you manage to do all that you do for your little family, so it's great that you'll have a little more help around the house!
LT- I do have a fat little chap on my hands, LOL, it always amazes people when they ask how many months he is, only to hear he is 3 weeks  Love the Toadlet's chubby little thighs in his leg warmers, very cute! Do you think it would be easy enough to pull a soaker off over the top of leg warmers?

Shorties? I think so yes. Put the shorties on first perhaps then the legwarmers ontop.
They would be good too cause it would hold the top of the leg warmers in place and stop the "gappage" between the nappy and the leggies.
Glad you are feeling a little better.
I STILL haven't taken the toadlet in to be weighed and measured, I'll try on wednesday or thursday if I have time with the packing etc. I definitely know he's growing!

Have a great day!!
BG - Caithi is right, you are an amazing person!! Just one thing that showed me your love, strength of character and patience was the fact that you were able to wait for Kes to come out when HE was ready. I know how frustrated you got but you still hung in there and you were amazing through it! I admire those qualities in a person. You have also been such a great support for all of us online! Life wouldn't be the same without you, so never doubt how GREAT you are! Promise me that!!
Lana - good on you for hanging in there with Sam. My best mate, Kara is going through something similar. Her man is 3 years younger (26). He still likes to do his own thing all the time. It's more so because of the fact that he isn't ready to stop drinking with his mates. He has a 20 month old daughter, Mercedes. He just kind of comes and goes though because they are not living together at the moment. I think they are looking for a place to move into at the moment, so I wonder if things might change then.
I'm so glad that you were able to compromise with Sam though - and what a great compromise it is! Would be nice if you could spend the money on yourself though, wouldn't it - instead of a cleaner.
How's Amity going with having Griffin around...? Does she like having a Lil Bro?
Anna - Glad things seemed a little easier last night. I'm sure that as time goes on - it'll just get better. I've found that with Chelsea! She may only be a couple of weeks older than quite a few of the bubbas on here but it's getting easier as she gets older and she settles into more of a routine. The last few days have definitely been easier than 2 or 3 weeks ago!
OMG!!! - Chelsea discovered her feet last night in the bath while she was splashing around! :yelclap: She pulled the wierdest face and then thought it was the best thing since sliced bread (or milk in her case!)

I am sure I will chicken out and get Craig to take her in... or if I have to go in - I will just walk out the room when they are about to do them.
Hey girls... just another question ..
If you had a girl, are you going to get their ears pierced??
If so, when are you thinking about doing it? ie. What age??
tazzystone
22-04-2007, 01:11 PM
Well Jacey has hair so she looks like a girl, so we probably wont get them done until she is 5 years old (like I did). A friend of mine got her girl done at 6 weeks old cause everyone kept calling her and he even when she was wearing pink. I have heard that a few salons up here dont do them until they are 12 months old now?? Has anyone else heard this?

if/when we have a girl, i will get her ears pierced when she is very young (3-8 months, i spose) so less likely to touch them. i had mine done when i was 6 and thought i was such a Big Girl and could look after them myself... well, i turned them from the front only and screwed the backing into my ear!! Dad pulled it out but the backing had gone into the skin and i had to get it removed at the hospital!!! so don't let your daughters look after her own earrings LOL
if you know anyone who does piercing, my experience is that the needle is far less painful and less of a shock than the gun.

i cant remember if you are bottle feeding or b/fing but if you're b/fing offer the boob as soon as needles are done.. dont feed while getting them done as bubby is likely to take a big breath.. if bottlefeeding and bub isnt due for a feed but takes a dummy use that. also dont be surprised if bub whinges for a second or two then gets over it!
as for ears pierced yep.. had M done at 7months.. D at 4 months and will get A done around 4months also. not the nicest thing to put them through but i found a place that does both at the same time. i just bf them after and they didnt care at all.. had no probs with their ears either since.

Well that sounds like it could be your issue then  . It would be frustrating for him if he can smell milk and is hungry (newborns have extraordinary sense of smell) but cant get to it. If the boob is full they cant latch easily. Leah takes a few quick sucks until its a bit more deflated then she can latch but I have had times when Ive had to hand express a wee bit. It takes 6-8 weeks for supply to settle so it wont be an ongoing issue.
Re ear piercing, I think I'll wait till Leah can tell me she wants them done then I have no idea what age I'll agree to it.
Re injections, has anyone investigated teh rota virus immunisation? if so, whats the deal? I haven't yet but need to ask the dr about it. Apparently they can only get it to 3 months or age or something like that. Sam was hospitalised for rota virus at 11 months so its definitely one I'll be looking into.

I had a squiz at the "kellymom" website as well and they mentioned fast let down as another possibility, and the 2 go hand in hand (as when it's really full it tends to switch to sprinkler mode and he coughs a bit), I look forward to it all regulating itself!

BG - I also had lots of problems with oversupply and had to express each time before feeding. I also stopped offering both sides and did only the one as there was always milk left even when he had enough. This way he was sure to get the 'hind' milk with all the goodies in it. That said - over the last 2 days it seems to have settle right down to the point where I don't have to express first and even have to do both sides. Hopefully this is just the milk settling down and not a lack of supply problem. I'll make sure I drink lots of water anyway to keep it up.

He actually emailed me an information sheet on it which is really helpful. If anyone wants a copy just PM me your email address and I will forward it to you.
I will be getting it for Matthew. And yes the treatments must start before they are 3 months old.

Matthew has done a couple of things recently that have blown me away....
He has been smiling now for a while but lately I am sure he has started giggling.... a sort of throaty "he...he...he" along with a big smile. He was watching his Dad today play with Ryan and Dad biffed Ryan over the head with a cushion and Matthew smiled and let out one of these 'giggles'. I am sure it was probably coincidence but was just hilarious.
The other thing is he seems to be soooooo sensitive to other children crying. Friday we were with some people at the MILs place and one of the children started hollering.... Matthew proceeded to drop his bottom lip and let out this really weird and sad kind of cry. I hadn't heard anything like it from him before but just thought it was coincidence also.
HOWEVER tonight (first night alone with DH away) and Ryan was in the corner for being naughty before bed. He was doing the usual full on screaming/crying and the next thing I heard from the highchair (where Matthew was patiently waiting for his feed) was this 'waaah'. I went over and sure enough on Ryan's next holler Matt's lip dropped his face looked sooooo sad and he let out this pitiful 'waaah'. I talked to him and let him know everything was alright and got a smile in return until Ryan let out another yell - same thing happened. It was so cute but at the same time so kind of sad I didn't know whether to laugh or cry!!!!
Anyone else experienced anything like this? I wish i had it on video.

Wow LT, that's great, no need to worry about him fading away! LOL, that's what people keep saying to me about Kes, gotta love the chub
MumtoR+1, interestingly enough, tonight I had to feed both sides as there didn't seem to be enough for him , so yeah, I guess I'm adjusting, just not very efficiently as yet!
Matthew must be a caring little soul, it sounds adorable... heart wrenching I'm sure, but adorable nonetheless :o
That bottom lip sticking out cry is horrible though isn't it? It brings a tear to my eye when he does that (luckily he rarely does!).
He has been so sweet today, I went to burp him and he fell asleep the second he touched my shoulder, and has only woken to feed since. I'm having one of those days where every time I look at him I'm overwhelmed by his awesomeness, LOL, I think I'm on the back-swing of that cr@ppy day yesterday! ;)

[CENTER] I'm so glad that you were able to compromise with Sam though - and what a great compromise it is! Would be nice if you could spend the money on yourself though, wouldn't it - instead of a cleaner.
How's Amity going with having Griffin around...? Does she like having a Lil Bro?
Kym - In a way the cleaning is something for me because it means that i dont have to do it!! I just have to 'tidy'. Plus everytime i actually have money to spend i can never find anything i want anyway lol. (plus i dont get the to shops that much anymore.)
Amity absolutely adores Griffin! She is a really little mother hen! Whenever she hears griffin fart she says "Bubby poos" and grabs his wipes, a nappy and his paw paw cream (or his "ouch" as she calls it) for his sore bottom. Very cute indeed!
Also, I had Amity's ears pierced when she was 6 months old and havent had a single problem with them! They did hers with the gun, one at a time to make sure she stayed still. We distracted her with a mirror, did the first one and gave her a cuddle then did the other one and gave her some panadol and her milk. She was out like a light within 20 mins. She doesnt even touch them.
LT - At Griffins 6 weeks check he weighed 5.14kg!! He was only 2.8kg born so that was a massive weight gain for him! I love chubba bubbas though, their little thighs look sooo damn cute!
Shez - Im still waiting on little giggles from Griffin. He smiles all the time now though and 'talks' a lot as well.
Gin - Im glad that Kes is better for you today and that you are able to give him lots of cuddles today!
Sharon - I have a lot of milk as well. I never have to offer Griffin both sides. When he finishes the first half of his feed i burp him then put him back on the same boob. He has never completely drained one boob, there is always something left. I have that really fast let down too. Stings like hell!

LOL - Anais worked out her hand was attached to her arm which was attached to her lol - its funny hey! How amazing is it that we are there to see "the moment!
Hey girls... just another question ..
If you had a girl, are you going to get their ears pierced??
If so, when are you thinking about doing it? ie. What age??
MARK WANTS 6 WEEKS.. which is only two weeks away -apparently its tradition but hey Im not too sure - slightly stressed about that at the momet....
Well Scoob, I'm crying again, but not cause I'm sad now That was a beautiful post, and I promise I'll make sure I tell myself that next time I have a down day!
Oh my, what a gentle little soul you are! :hugs:
Well DH took me out to breakie at my fave cafe.....when we got there all my friends where there and there where balloons and flowers it was lovely and very thoughful (cant believe my bestie kept it from me!)
Its great to hear how spolit you were - You deserve it!!

and you know how when you first wake up you dont really take everything in/understand what people are saying? ( well me anyways)
so I walk in and sitting there are Marks mum, marks sister and mark cousin 0 all unannounced all got a good view..

Sarah, that sounds like a ripper birthday, glad you had such a special day!
Gin - Im glad that Kes is better for you today and that you are able to give him lots of cuddles today!
He has never completely drained one boob, there is always something left. I have that really fast let down too. Stings like hell!
Thank mate
Just wondering, do you squeeze to see if you have any milk left, or is it just a feeling?
MARK WANTS 6 WEEKS.. which is only two weeks away -apparently its tradition but hey Im not too sure - slightly stressed about that at the momet....
Oh my, what a gentle little soul you are! :hugs:
Could you ask him to hold off for a while? If you did get it done it would be nice if it could be a special time for you both so maybe in a month or two?
As for gentle... LOL, well you're sweet for thinking it :D ;)
As for the "aren't you coping?" comment, WTF? Seriously, why on earth should it matter what schedule you and Anais keep if you're happy? Had to laugh at the granny undies though, hehe, better than a G-string though, right?

Gin - Yep, if i squeeze there is always milk there still. Plus he never hops off because he is hungry or anything.
I think this is the Simply Colors site Sarah was talking about. www.simplycolors.co.nz

Hi girls,
Just a real quick post..
I will hopefuly get around to replying to all the ear piercing posts tomorrow.. ahh oops.. later today I mean cause it's 2.40am now.
Thought I would just post Chelsea's 6 week stats. She is 8 weeks old on Tuesday but I never did post her 6 week ones... and I am noticing that you all are. Did'nt want to be the odd one out LOL
Aww Chelsea has incredible timing - grrr, she just woke up LOL Just as I was typing this...
Anyway.. her stats were:
Her Birth Weight : 3410g (3.4kg)
Weight @ 6 wks : 4560g (4.5kg)
Her Birth Length : 49cms
Length at 6 wks : 56cms
(Thats over a cm per week... lol)
Birth Head Circ : 36cms
Head Circ @ 6wks : 39.5cms
The last 3 nights, she's woken JUST as we've gone to sit down to tea...and I mean JUST.
What a cheeky little tiger! :p
Well Chels has just finished a feed and I have put her back in her cradle so it's back off to bed for me.
It's so cute - she holds her dummy in her mouth now with one hand haha Hmm that's when she's not playing games with it and spitting it out all the time and trying to get it back in herself. Thats wearing a bit thin with craig and I because most of the time she can't find the dummy and starts to bury her head into the pillow looking for it.. lol Not that she'll find it in the pillow lol - guess she still has to learn that bit.
Shezi, Mum to Ryan+1 and Tazzy - Have your bubba's found their feet yet?
I can't believe our bubbs'a were all born one day apart from each other - soooo close together!!
Matthew on the 25th Feb (Mum2Ryan+1),
Jacey on the 26th Feb (Tazzystone),
Chelsea on the 27th Feb (Scoobs) &
Aalivyah on the 28th Feb (Shezi)...
Pretty kewl HUH!!??
I hope I got them all right lol... Aalivyah was the 28th wasn't she Sheree??
Hope your all sleeping well!

Great pictures Sarah!
How is Iris' gomother related to you? Friend? Relative?
Caithi, you should have replied "Yes I am coping quite well thank you, I do it by having a sleep in the morning so I'm not tired ... now do something useful and make me my f'ing morning cup of coffee!"
Elmo, I'm with you on the cubby babies.. well I don't have much choice now! Toadlet is getting very "round".
DP is very fit and healthy and doesn't want a fat kid.. but I think at the moment he prefers a happy well fed non crying toadelt. Plus when he starts to crawl he'll loose weight.
We are thinking of putting him on the Jenny Craig slimfast low GI, 99% fat free powder mix instead of formula.
Scoobs and bluegin, I'm afraid I don't think Toadlet is advance or Einstein like in any way yet. Pretty much average, except can safely say he excels at eating and pooing.
Is anyone here getting their boys circumsized and when?
I will do my best to take toadlet to the clinic this wednesday or thursday PROMISE!
After toadlet managing to escape his arms from every wrap configuratuon possible, including the Kiddopotamus wrap, I decided to make my own.
He loves to have his arms up and hates being strapped down. so I added two arms pockets to a normal wrap that keep his arms warm, keep them close to his body but still lets him put his hands near his face. There is no escaping this one Hudini Toad!
Takihng him for another swim swim today with his godmother and her daughter.
I might need to get myself a "mummsy" swimsuit instead of my brazilian bikini.
Question for all, what is the longest time you keep your babies up for?
Bluegin and Scoobs, pattern and nappy being sent off today.. hopefully! The ballet nappy is sold and off to its new owner too.
Shame I wont have time for the new nappy sew off. Could be fun!

 they look so cute. thats hilarious about them getting in trouble for beaking a gnome!
I might need to get myself a "mummsy" swimsuit instead of my brazilian bikini.
Question for all, what is the longest time you keep your babies up for?
A is woken up alot by M & D through the day & she likes to sleep in my arms so even inbetween cat naps i'd say the longest she's been awake is a few hours. at night she sleeps really well (enjoying the peace i reckon!)
i wear boardies & bikini top while taking kids swimming.. i get so paranoid about them pulling it off tho(which at times they try!!) but i cant imagine wearing a one piece hehe.

no idea how to resize pics sarah..
very romantic emma lol.. but we're no better.. chris eats infront of the tv by himself.. while d is in her highchair, M is at her little table & im at the computer desk(its inbetween them both. so we sit together.. have to eat in here coz its tiled whereas our dining table is on carpet and its just not worth the hassle cleaning after.. most the time i cook while holding bub & eat while holding bub.. not to mention clean while holding bub
was so peeved at chris yesterday.. i went to see mum with the kids before she went to work so went over at 8.30 and we were back at 9.30.. anyway chris went back to bed at 10.30am!! and didnt get up till i opened the door and told the girls to jump on him lol that was 3pm!! he then yawned the rest of the day infront of the tv but i got him to bath A while i bathed M & D.. and then D wouldnt settle when going to bed so i made him go in and he rocked her then he went back to bed before 8pm. and woke me at 6am to find out if i had any cash.. not impressed!
i find it ridiculously slack to be home and not help. if hes not here i accept it but to just sleep is pathetic. thank god he only has a sunday off! keep in mind saturday is only a half day(as are most fridays), so he sleeps when he gets home then so im not depriving him of rest lol. he sleeps when hes bored.. thing is with 3 girls i cant see how he could ever be bored..

It was lovely to see them together, we both cried and talked about dh's mum and how much we missed her and how I felt this really super strong connection to her now that Iris is here iykwim
I mean i missed her heaps when O was born BUT i felt it doubley when Iris was born....something about her being her namesake.

Morning all,
Leah is being a madam today. 4 hours Ive been trying to settle her in her bassinet then put her in her HAB and shes asleep in 3 minutes. At least its a good backup I guess.
Leah at her last weigh last week (4.5 weeks) was 3.78kg. She still fits her 0000's perfectly.
anna what is the rotavirus? never heard of it.. must be a bad one if sam was hospitalized..
Its gastro (tummy bug). Sam was hospitalised because it hung around for 3 days and he was vomiting and diahorrea so got very dehydrated. We couldn't put enough fluids into him before they presented themselves again.
I had a squiz at the "kellymom" website as well and they mentioned fast let down as another possibility, and the 2 go hand in hand (as when it's really full it tends to switch to sprinkler mode and he coughs a bit), I look forward to it all regulating itself!
That was my issue until about a week ago. Fast flow, too much milk etc etc.
Anna - at our 6wk check with the paediatrician he brought up the rota virus thing and was suggesting that if there as likely to be any contact with child care centres either directly or indirectly (eg thru siblings etc) then it was probably a good idea. He actually emailed me an information sheet on it which is really helpful. If anyone wants a copy just PM me your email address and I will forward it to you.
I will be getting it for Matthew. And yes the treatments must start before they are 3 months old.
Id love a copy. I'll send you my email. Thanks so mcuh.
How do I tell people to politely f#$k off?
You know, Id be skipping the polite bit.:p How rude!
The last 3 nights, she's woken JUST as we've gone to sit down to tea...and I mean JUST.
What a cheeky little tiger! :p
Sam used to do exactly that. Could set a clock by him waking as soon as dinner was being dished. I still remember the day DH and I were able to sit and have a meal together again - it was like a major break through.
Question for all, what is the longest time you keep your babies up for?
LOL, wish I could tell you. Leah dictates her own waking/sleeping time. Waking is 10 x more than sleeping. At this age though the recommendation is 1 - 1.5 hrs I think.
haha my mum bought an outfit for A when she was born in a 00000! and it still fits.. must be a big make i think.. altho she is a shorty! just chubby lol
i wear boardies & bikini top while taking kids swimming.. i get so paranoid about them pulling it off tho(which at times they try!!) but i cant imagine wearing a one piece hehe.
LOL, I prefer my one piece. Never been a fan of showing off my tummy.
i find it ridiculously slack to be home and not help. if hes not here i accept it but to just sleep is pathetic. thank god he only has a sunday off! keep in mind saturday is only a half day(as are most fridays), so he sleeps when he gets home then so im not depriving him of rest lol. he sleeps when hes bored.. thing is with 3 girls i cant see how he could ever be bored..
 I completely agree! Id never let DH sleep during the day and leave me with the kids if there wasn't a fantastic reason for it. You must have the patience of a saint.

DP can't beilve that some guys don't help out. On weekends he does atleast half the feeds, when I go climbing he folds the nappies, hangs out the washing and tidies up... and feeds the toadlet. Super Frog!
Lt - I am lucky like you and get quite a bit of help from dh. When he is home he helps with the baths and feeding and dressing etc. My only issue is how long it takes him to do it! LOL in the end half the time I take over as I can do it all in half the time. Its great though that he offers and trys as much as he does.
M2B - I hope Madison is improving at home.
Tazzy - you iron !? well done ! I had the iron out on Sat as we were heading to a Christening and Ruby asked what it was !!LOL!
Lana & Shezi, I agree with the age thing too. Your partners are still young. Hubby and I only got together when I was 26 and he was 28. He was def not ready for committment etc before then and it was so nice. Cant wait for winter so I can take them in the morning.
I am with you age does change things. My dh was in his late thirties when we met and I am his second wife so he wasvery ready to settle down get married and have kids. I think that also is why he is good helping around the house etc
Sarah - HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR YESTERDAY!!! sounds like you had a great day, did you get the bling you were hoping for?
Re injections, has anyone investigated teh rota virus immunisation? .
Anna - I think we are going to do it as Ruby ended up in hospital due to it so with the two girls in daycare I think we will try to avoid it with Chloe.
Cathi - I cant believe they were all sitting there uninvited!! I would certainly give out some ground rules!! I did that with my inlaws when we first had Ruby as we had some unexpected visits and unnecessary comments as well.
Lana - sounds like a great compromise with dp I would love to have a cleaner but now that I am jobless I dont think now is the time to suggest it to dh Ha!
Well its a rainy day here in Syd so we are having a quiet day esp as we were up late last night with Ruby who is terrified of thunderstorms. Poor thing freaked out last night with the storm and woke Tilly who then didnt settle for ages. Poor Chloe then decided to join in whereby Scott and I just looked at each other and got them all onto the couch and had family cuddles for 30 mins. We then put them into bed one at a time and settled them. We then cracked the giant cadbury egg and ate it down !!!!
Hey Everyone,
happybirthday Sarah for yesterday, hope you had a fantastic day! The pics of your babies are soooo cute!
Thanks for all the messages about Madi, she is doing heaps better. The reason why she went to hospital is that she developed a rash that rapidly took over her face within 1 hour, she was tested for Meningitis by doing a lumpar puncutre (painful procedure and risky too). It was finally discovered to be facial cellulitis sp?. Poor thing has had such a hard time since entering the world, resusitated within her first 5 minutes of arrival as the cord was wrapped around her neck twice, jaundice, sticky eye, cut behind her ear, etc etc.......but it's all in the past now, she is doing so well and she remains so calm and happy through it all.
For the formula feed bubs - how are you making up your formula. I am adding 150ml of cooled boiled water in her sterilised bottles and placing them in the fridge then when it's feed time, I heat the bottle in the microwave for 30 secs then add 5 scoops of formula - shake and give it to her. In hospital they make up their quota for the day in a jug and then just heat it up in boiling water. What do you find is the best way? TIA
I have to add that my DH is so good with Madi, he stayed with her in hospital at night to give me some rest, and looks after her all weekends so I can also have a break and is always feeding her and changing nappies when he is home. I would be so lost without his help! Love him! It's our 1st wedding anniversary next month on the 13th May which is also Mother's Day - I have reminded him 'cause he always forgets!
Hope everyone is having a great day, gotta run Madi is awake!

M2B, you poor thing! And poor bub! Sams been hospitalised twice in his life, time 1 was gastro dehydration, time 2 (last year) was perioptical cellulitis so the same thing but in the eye which they thought would spread to the brain if not treated immediately. Hope she is on the mend now and you guys get some good quality healthy time.
RTC'sMum & LT, I agree with age making a difference. My DH does some sill things sometimes and often isn't as helpful as I would like but all in all hes pretty good actually.

OMG I finally got Cooper to settle and he's just drifted off to sleep. Dh and I have both got the flu and I think Coopers had it too. After ever fed he seem to throw up a little bit and it's more like slimy phlegm, it's gross what ever it is. at least he hasn't got a fever.
I hopefully have some time now to pack as we are all flying down to Griffth to visit Dh's family and for Anzac Day. So that should be cold and boring lol.
All you girls have dramas with your partners hope they get better :hugs: . My Dh is similar to R&T's mum. Rob looks after Cooper so I can get all the house work done. I don't trust him with the cleaning I'm too picky. lol
I'm better go have a shower as I want to go down town and get my nails and hair down for when we fly out tomorrow so I look good for the inlaws and they think I'm supa mum HEHE. Also have to post a video up to my mum...Since Young & The Restless has gone to Foxtel she can't watch it so I tape it for her and send it up to her. Crazy  .

Aww Im glad madi is doing so much better, she has been through alot. :hugs:
Formula - In hospital they had room temp NAN bottle already made up to 100mls like the (UHT milk), anyway I sterilise the bottles and put boiled water to the amout of formula that I want to use and just keep the bottles on the bench till it's time for feeding. Cooper just has his bottles at room temp, it's especially easier if you out and about.

So many pages to catch up on.
I tell DH his days off are actually my days off
He never gets to sleep in, thats my time to sleep. I find it hard to sleep during the day so he gets up with DS and I sleep until Jacey is awake and then if he feels like a sleep while DS sleeps I dont mind at all. I prefer him to watch the kids while I do the housework as it takes him a lot longer than me!
OK
Jacey just had her needles. Poor litle possum. She has never had tears before those needles! Very sad. She is sleeping now though.
Born 3.78kg now weighs 5.25kg
Length 52cm now 60.5cm
Anyway took me forever to read all the posts and I dont have much time left before DS wakes up so better go.
Emma, thanks for sharing your formula making skills! I like the idea of room temp. haha - Emma I hear you with the young and the restless, Mum has foxtel now to watch the show - hehe. I am getting it connected this Thursday, day time tv is driving me crazy!
Tazzystone, poor Jacey! How did you go watching it? I think I will get too upset again, I couldn't watch them give Madi all her injections. Glad she is asleep now.

Hey Girls!
I'm okay & so is Bubba Ella, thanks for worrying! It's just been busy.
Had a great time at my niece's birthday party & was lucky that E didn't wake until everyone was leaving for a bottle so we stayed longer to feed her & so she could spend time with her Aunty, Uncle & Cousin. She was smiling away at all the attention! LOL :) MIL came over before & gave me my birthday presents as she said I also needed my time (my niece & I have the same b'day) & I got some Avon jewellery with small shells on the set plus the pink old fashioned laundrey things (like the vintage kitchen stuff I have). I also got my Monopoly Here & Now Edition from Ella.
So then it was my birthday on Friday & I basically spent until 2pm giving the house a good proper clean then we went to my fave Chinese restaurant with my mum, dad & sister for dinner. We were half an hour late cos E of course decided on having a bottle & doing poohs & spews before we left. When I change her & have her legs up she does more poohs while smiling at you! Cheeky! Haha ... I got Care Bear PJ's from my sister, vintage kitchen pink scales from mum & dad, $100 spending money for clothes from mum & dad, frangipani wind chimes & vase from my aunt, uncle & cousins, $30 Just Jeans voucher from my brother, some scrapbooking stickers for E's album from mum & dad as well & a lovely fridge magnet with a friendship verse on it from my best friend in the UK who I miss with all my heart - it made me cry! Lol.
On Saturday we did the shopping, exciting lol & instead of shopping for a b'day present from DH to me we didn't have enough money (didn't want to use our very sad looking savings or credit card) as we had to buy a new steriliser etc. Got the Avent one cos it had 2 x 260ml bottles we needed with it and cos my SIl/bf said she microwaved it without water once & it didn't melt! Haha ... It's hard to open & close though.
I told DH I am getting the bracelet from small prints with E's fingerprints so to ring them as a birthday/mother's day present so I can add each baby to it but my best friend / E's godmother called them too & they don't post to Qld! How sucky! & they are still closed for Easter. I'll call them anyhoo. I really want it.
Sunday we had a bbq at our place with the family friends up from Adelaide, my parents & sister and one of my friends from up the coast (our mums met at pre-natal classes!). It was so hectic & Rupert (my family's black lab) left hair everywhere & I was annoyed cos I spent all of my birthday cleaning ... Have vacuumed & mopped today & it is all nice again lol. I'm a clean freak!
Ella was all smiles when she woke up too yesterday afternoon with everyone looking at her! She is such an attention seeker!
Will reply in a sep post as this is so long! x

Not as bad but still its not nice seeing them in pain. With Logan's 2 month injections I cried too but I am used to them now. I held jacey though and this is the first time I have done that. I always made my mum or hubby hold DS as I didnt want to seem like the one hurting him!! Didnt have a choice today though.

WELCOME BACK NIC!!! Hope Madi is doing well now -can't wait for some pics! It must be great to be at home now. When everything has settled down we have to do that meet!
Jaimie, Emma, M2Ryan + 1 whoever else is in or around Brisbane should come to.
SARAH - Happy Birthday for ... Saturday(?) Hope you had a good time!
Sounds like we are so much alike - my DH is the cook in the family too - I burnt 2 tea towels in my first week home from work Lol, & melted the steriliser & bottle last week! He used to be a chef so it's his job :) He complains to my grandma I don't cook (she says I should be looking after him as he is too skinny & needs fattening up & says he does EVERYTHING for me! So not true! I do EVERYTHING except cook!!! Grr ...) anyhoo, he just takes over anyway if I attempt it! Plus our birthdays are close, plus there were a few more things but I forget! Hope superman fettish is getting better - my bro loved the Power Rangers! I also wanna see the Turtles movie so don't knock it haha!)
LANA - I am the same with throwing things! Haha. At the townhouses we lived in before this house I made a few small holes DH had to fix before we left by throwing remote controls! I also threw my pump bottle from the bed, lucky the mirrored double wardrobes were open, the end of the bottle (the sippy bit) went threw the back of the wardrobe! I learnt my lesson when I threw my engagement ring at DH (it wouldn't damage the wall ...) and I couldn't find it & was upset for 3 days until DH gave it to me- he'd picked it up & kept it in his pocket the whole time! I was freaking out! Hope your hand is better :)
SCOOB - Lol about Chelsea & Ella being twins! Hehe ...
GIN - Kes has grown heaps!
Ella stats at her 4 week appointment were:
Birth - 3500g 4 weeks - 4000g
Birth - 53cm long 4 weeks - 54cm long
Birth - 35cm hc 4 weeks - 36.5cm hc
Can't wait to the 8 weeks check!
FIRST TIME - Lovely photo! Was it embarrassing stripping off in front of photographer?
LT - Love the Swimming Toadlet pics! He is so cute & looks like he really was enjoying himself! You look HOT too!!! I am so jealous!
Ella loves the water too & on weekend mornings while DH was home I took her in shower with me, she nestled in between my boobs & even was going to sleep as it massaged her back! So much easier than getting all the bath ready! Will still bath her prob every 2nd day & shower every other. On weekend mornings (I bath in evenings) will shower with her then though & bath at night maybe.
M2B - Formula - I was putting the cooled boiled water in bottles & then in fridge but now I put bottles in empty in the fridge & put the warm water from kettle in and mix up the bottle - I have discovered if I boil kettle at the feed time (after I have poured her water in bottle) it is the PERFECT temp for next feed so takes sh!t all time to prepare :) If anything water may sometimes need cooling, or warming if she goes longer. It is handy to put warm water in bottles to go out as it goes in insulated part of nappy bag & I don't have to worry about going to heat it up somewhere if I am out.
EMMA - I know Mitchie High. Know heaps of friends who went there too as most students from Grovely primary went there. Who were your DH's friends or what yr did he finish? We may have mutual friends! LOL. Small world!
CAITHI - Ella is smiling on a regular basis too! And sorta laughs - sort of "coo's" then "hics" - SO CUTE! Those easter pics of Anais are so gorgeous luv!
GTG update Avy, sig (with my new age!) and go back to talking to Mason's Mummy on MSN.
Have a gr8 day - sorry if I forgot you!
Thanx Tazzy!

SHEZI - I'm a short @r$e too! Lol 156cm :( Did you receive something in the mail from me today? Thanks for the SNS sleepy thing! It's wonderful! I put her on DH's side of bed when I sleep now when he's not there in that instead of on a pillow & in my arms next to me so I can actually sleep! XXXXXXXX

how is everyone putting baby to sleep now? do you rock / feed / let whinge / put down awake or what?
Middle of the night feeds I get he rup, change her, feed her, she's usually pretty much asleep so wrap her up again & put her down with mobile. If she is awake I give her a small cuddle but it hurts my back so put her down with dummy & mobile in her cot, go to toilet, have a drink, rinse bottle then if she isn't asleep I put mobile on again & go to bed & don't usually hear from her for another 3 hours.
At the moment E had a big sleep & lying happily in bassinette next to me looking at toys hanging from hood!
During the day time after morning feed she goes in bouncer & ends up sleeping for a little bit til next feed, then around lunch time she's been awake for a while & winges & doesn't wanna go down so I lie on couch with her on my tummy & then she sleeps & I put heron her tummy in bassinette afterwards so she doesn't wake up.
LANA - re housework - I was tired & emotional at 1am on Friday morning after a feed & wrote DH a letter saying I don't feel appreciated & don't think he realises how much I do - he vacuumed & *mopped on Saturday afternoon for me & vacuumed last night too after all the ppl & Rupert were here (dog hair still everywhere! Lol). I think he realised then :)

Carrie.....lots in common hun except for the ninja T obsession lol my bro was into the power rangers too!!!
how is everyone putting baby to sleep now? do you rock / feed / let whinge / put down awake or what?
Iris puts herself to sleep at night, i just wrap her and she falls to sleep, no dummy or anything.
During the day she needs to be wrapped and have a dummy and she'll go off by herself
During unsettled periods, i wrap, use a dummy and cuddle her tightly, maybe a rock in my arms usually goes off no problems
Im very very lucky as she hardly gets unsettled, only if shes over tired OR needs to do a pooey lol
O was the polar opposite I used to wrap, use a dummy, rock, pat, use a bjorn carrier, use the pram, BUT i usually ended up crying along with him lol
The only thing that worked everytime was the BOOBIE:laughing:

Welcome back Carrie! Glad to hear you and Ella are going so well! Happy birthday for Friday too!
Anna - During the day Griffin just gets put in his bassinet and will fall asleep on his own. At night he usually falls asleep on the boob most of the time but sometimes he will wake so i will put him in his bassinet and pat his bum. If he is really unsettled i sit in my recliner with him laying on my chest and pat his bum while saying "ssh ssh sssshhh". Works well for us!
Sarah - That is the cutest pic!! If i hadnt of read the bit bout LT and Monty i would have guessed it was maybe you! He looks adorable! Will be interesting to compare that pic to Iris when she is older lol. See if it really DID look like your future girl!!

Happy Bithday Carrie! Sounds klike you got some wonderful presents.
Glad Maddison is ok M2B
With formula, I steralize the bottles, add boiling water up to about 180 mls, then just leave them at room temperature, When the toadlet wakes up I boil the kettle and add a little bit more boiling water, make sure its at 200 mls then add the scoops. Doesn't take long.
Be careful microwaving, I think it can create hot spots and burn their mouths.
Having older partners is good, but we are set in our ways and it takes alot of adjusting changing our lifestyles after being selfish for so long. It's imporant to make sute the baby fits in with your lifestyle and not the other way round. Frog still goes diving on the weekends (sometimes overnight, it's nice for him to get away. He also goes to the gym 4 times a week.
I still go climbing twice a week.
I think for the younger guys its important that they manage to still go out with their buddies and get drunk and be silly occasionally... as long as they let you do your thing too!.
Annsam: how is everyone putting baby to sleep now? do you rock / feed / let whinge / put down awake or what?
We've always put him into bed awake. He doesn't often cry although yesterday and today he;s been having protest winges. No music or rocking.
My wrap I made worked! The little rodent cant escape and can still suck his hand if he wants. Better make another one tonight.

how is everyone putting baby to sleep now? do you rock / feed / let whinge / put down awake or what?
at night, i just wrap him and stick him back in bed, he slept in his own room (in the bassinette) all night last night! after the midnight feed, he goes straight to sleep but after the 4am, he likes to talk to himself for a while.
during the day, he usually falls asleep in my lap but i am TRYING to start putting him down awake. i have to admit that i just love holding him as he dozes off...:o
had a lovely day today, hung out at my cousin/BF's all day with her baby and two year old then we walked up to the school to pick up her other two. was nice just relaxing and lazing around.
i had a horrible experience last night - started feeding Harper and he was taking a few sucks then crying then started to scream. i thought his nose was blocked so i used the drops/snot sucker then tried again - same thing. it was very distressing. so i tried to express (while he cried and i cried...) and only got 15ml! lucky i had some expressed mlk in the freezer and was able to distract him with the dummy while it defrosted. dunno what i would have done if i didnt have the frozen milk though. has anyone else had this happen? i was really tired yesterday so maybe that was why? i wasn't dehydrated.
and then DH wasnt very helpful on the phone "I wouldnt worry about it". well, obviously i AM worried about it! and maybe HE wouldnt worry but he didnt hear him scream :( tho i think he probably felt useless being so far away.
sorry for the 'me' post, will finish reading everyone's now :)

LL I often feel like I dont have much milk but I always keep a couple of sachets of Karicare Gold formula in the pantry incase I get sick and DH needs it or if I dont have enough milk etc. I have used it twice now as I'm not very good at expressing and Jacey took it fine.
Well Jacey has hardly slept today. We had to wake her up this morning after 1.5hrs sleep to go to the docs for her needles and since then she hasnt really slept at all. I gave her panadol but that didnt help and she didnt like it very much at all!! DS loves the stuff :D
:fingerscrossed: she is asleep now. I hope this doesnt stuff things up cause we had such a good thing going
With Jacey I see her tired signs - usually within the hour of her waking - so I change her bum, lay her in her bassinet and wrap her, stick the dummy in and walk out. I usually have to go back in there a couple of times but she drifts off by herself. Night time is pretty much the same. She hardly ever falls asleep on the boob. Its funny cause she is totally different to DS. With him I had to rock him to sleep or he would fall asleep on the boob. I basically held him ALL day and he would only ever sleep 20min at the most. Very happy that Jacey is different. I really believe it depends on the baby. Oh I do have the air con going but as its getting cooler I'm not sure what to do. We have an Angel care monitor and it doesnt work with the fan on so I have the air con going on low. I think I will need to invest in a CD with that kind of noise (white noise is it called?) as its quite loud and so she doesnt hear Logan screaming etc as much!
Anyway I think she is asleep and I need to mop. DH and DS are at the footy watching the cowboys!! Its Logan's first game... cant wait to hear if he enjoyed it!

Hi guys
I'm sure you are used to my random drop ins sorry I'm not so good at keeping up!
Boy is it a handful having a 14month and 5weeker! OMG what was I thinking!
Hamish has been sick he got RSV and ended up in hospital with Bronchiolitis on oxygen for 6 days ... stay clear of anyone with a cold it goes around like an epidemic in winter and hist kids 0-2years adults juts feel like they have a common cold!
Oscar also got it but the breast milk and him being full term has saved him from hospital.
Wish it would rain in QLD I miss winters in Sydney ... I have so many jackets and boots that never made it out of the closet last winter and have doubts again on this year.
Oscar sleeps okay at night but wakes every 2 hours for feed but at least goes down again okay.
During the day is a bit of a nightmare he gets such bad wind out the back end ... someone recommended marina water which I am using and it seems to help. But he hardly sleeps during the day or lets me put him down its really getting to me!
And with them being sick some days I think Im going to lose it!
Anyone do the feed awake sleep routine? Any ideas what to do with Oscar whilst he is awake ... I have tried a rocker, play mat, tummy, back he just seems to cry!
Hamish was so much easier he just laid on the play mat for a hour and then went to sleep!

Hello!
Caithi - where's the link to your website? I'd like to see, is it one for your family or something? Anais sounds so cute with what she was doing this morning!
Firsttime - What dirty perves! I remember when I was about 18 I think, maybe 17, we were having our house painted & it turned out the painter was this guy from school & his dad! Anyhoo I had a massive night one night & woke up (looking like sh!t mind you!) and I was only in little Playboy pj's with the undies things & tiny singlet & the guy I went to school with was looking through my bedroom window while he was painting outside my room! He hadn't paid me any attention before, lol.
Sarah - That is def a pic for O's 21st!!! Ha!
Okay I had been feeling like I'd lost weight & now I feel fat again since I have stopped expressing all the time (prob cos I have more time to eat even though I only have lunch & dinner - and some choc in b/w ...). I thought I got my period on my birthday as had the cramps & bleeding but then it has like stopped completely by Sunday ... Weird ...
I want to start walking but worried about the wind/breeze here as it is usually quite breezy all day & Ella has the worse wind pains as it is without contributing to the problem.
Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone for Friday! X
Oh quick one - Ella loves her bouncer & will sit in it for ages & most of the time falls asleep (it is the FP one that vibrates & has a bar with hanging toys on it) but she doesn't seem to want to play on her play mat really even though she needs to so she develops her motor & fine motor skills ... Are your babies the same - is she too young for it?
Haha Ella smiled when I stood in front of the mirror with her! Maybe she was smiling about having 2 mummies! Lol :)
Have a nice day everyone x

Happy Birthday Carrie! Sounded like a lovely day.
LT-looking forward to it arriving, very exciting!
Sarah, that is the funniest photo, I have one of me dressed in my brother's school uniform when I was about 7, they are classics
Anna- putting to sleep during the day involves anything from walking around carrying him to rocking him, lots of things... as long as they involve me holding him :o I wait till he looks to be sound asleep then pop him in the bassinet. 6 times out of 10 he sleeps, the other times he screams till picked up again. I tried being tough but he screamed horribly after a few seconds
SHanMac, I hope it gets better for you, it must be tough having a sick little one too! I wish I had advice, but my boy runs the show around here too so I guess all I can tell you is to know that you're not alone! And that noone here gets sick of hearing about it, we're all here to help and listen whenever you need us.
Caithi, I'd love the address if you get a chance to PM me!
My back hurts, Kes wont go in the HAB today, being a sook, so needs holding.
He is getting more interactive though, loves watching me, and the little clever-clogs has figured out how to wipe his own mouth! I was very surprised, but now every time he spits up it is a race between me and his hand to wipe it up (if he gets there first he just makes more mess so I try to swish a tissue over it before he makes it, LOL)

</p>
Anna I think you just solved my prob - I didn't know week 6 was a massive crying week! Why?!
I was about to lose it before, I feel terrible. Ella just won't stop!
First time she was crying she was due for a bottle but only drank a little bit as was screaming with pains AGAIN. Then she tried to sleep but kept crying to be picked up and it's been like that all day. She has had a couple of 10 min sleeps but that's it! Ella obviously was hungry so I gave her the rest of the bottle a bit later and she went to sleep. Put her down, she cries after a couple of mins ... I thought this is because she only had 100ml in last bottle so made her a small 120ml bottle which she went to sleep after 30ml so put her down - she screamed (doing hungry cry btw) so sat here at computer with her (she likes lying on a pillow on my lap at computer) and gave her more of bottle & she drank about 40-50ml if that & went to sleep. Gave it a couple of mins again & lifted pillow & put it on the fold out couch on the floor so didn't have to move her - she screamed as soon as i put it down! I just laid her on her side in bassinette & she is sleeping now. Not sure how long for though. Daddy will come home & she'll be an angel!
She headbutted my nose earlier & I cried & said loudly "f**k" so felt horrible then. But before I said loudly to her to "be quiet" a couple of times & "what the frik do you want?!"
I feel like crying again writing this! WTF is going on?! :( :( :( :(
On a cheerier note - anyone else's bubs going in shower with them & absolutely loving it?

Sarah - how cute! You will have to catch Iris "crawling" next time!
March bubs are very clever babies by the sounds of it! E smiled at 3 weeks, is laughing "coooo - HIC!" at 1 month, rolled onto side at 10 days ... lol. Proud mumma!

Sara how cute! Haha ... Ella is nearly too long as well & apart from that I'm lazy & haven't been bothered pulling it all out! I was gonna have a big bath with her yesterday but didn't end up doing that. She also kicks off the end of the bath! Lol.
She's lying happily in her bassinette next to me now, she woke up (after 5 mins nap) and is half on her side, half on her back looking between me and hanging toys and really getting into the stretching! Feel bad for being mad at her before - she's too cute!

Well done to all of the advanced March bubs. Jacey doesnt seem advanced but she is a FANTASTIC bub so I cant complain. She slept from 8.30pm to 4.50am this morning and then 5.30am to 8am, then 9am to 12 and is asleep now as well. Arrh just lucky cause she settles herself too. But I do know how the mums who rock their bubs and who have to hold them all of the time feel like as DS was a terrible sleeper (mainly during the day).

anyone else's bubs going in shower with them & absolutely loving it?
not yet but DH is home tonight (YAY!!) and i suggested he take Harper in the shower. it would be too hard by myself to get him dry and me dry and not slip over on the cork floor between the bathroom and his room! Harper is too long for the baby bath now so i am using one of those bath seats in the big bath - he loves it.
Do you all use nappy bags? or just normal ones
Are you not fussed OR more like me need to co ordinate:o :p
my little sis bought me a gorgeous brown oi oi nappy bag for xmas, that is my main one. i also have a small black bag that i keep the essentials in and just throw over the pram handle if i am walking down the shop...
well, today i have been putting Harper down for his nap without holding/rocking/patting. works well IF he has his dummy. he usually only has it at night. i spose its more important that he learn to put himself to sleep than to limit his dummy. i am just paranoid about not being able to get rid of it later!
its very rainy here in perth, no walk today... i'm trying to be healthy. only discovered the March Yummy Mummy Weight Loss Support Thread (http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?t=80926)the other day, not much going on there tho! are we all slacking off? i used to go to 'group personal training' (its called Step Into Life, they have a website) until i was about 5 1/2 months pregnant and got too tired. i am starting again in may and really looking forward to it. i have a post-preg exercise dvd but i dont think i can be bothered today. i have my dressing gown on over my clothes!! think i'll have a nap actually...

Wow look how well a lot of the March bubbas have been sleeping for their mummies! Griff is still sleeping for at least 6 hours and then a 3 hours stint. im pretty happy with that.
I only have the one baby bag. I like the fact that it has a handle i can hang over the pram. I hate having to carry it.
LL - NOt all babies have problems getting rid of their dummy. Amity was sooo dependent on it when she was little and then at 7 months old, she all of a sudden decided she didnt want it!!
Sarah - Wow!! Go Iris! She is making use of her lovely long legs lol!

Very clever girl you've got there, she'll be walking next week! LOL
DH is obsessed with holding Kes up and watching him "walk" up his lap, very cute to see.
Your gruff DH sounds (and looks :p) very cute with his pink obsession!
LL, I'm thinking of trialling a dummy, and hoping Kes is like Amity! The only reason I haven't got one yet (he loves sucking) is that I am so slack with cleaning that I have a paranoia that there'll be none clean and he'll be screaming and wont settle without it... any thoughts? (Other than getting my act together and cleaning, obviously ;))
Carrie- sorry to hear that you're having a rough trot with Ella, it must be a relief to hear that it's common at 6 weeks. I wouldn't feel bad about cracking it occasionally, there is only so much endless screaming that one can bear. It's a powerfull effect that a baby's cries have on their mother! :hugs:
Enjoy your evening girls,

mikaelah used to go there! it was really good until the new teacher came.. she didnt like her.. plus the old one was very intent on getting them independent and the kids danced heaps without parents help but with the new one i had to dance with M while 9months preg with D on my hip.. hence we didnt re enrol this term! lol. i definitely want to start back up once D is 2 though. that way they can both go.
carrie that was really sweet of you to send a thankyou note.:hugs: im just glad ella has settled in it & you can have some rest without worrying the little chick has rolled..
sarah i ended up calling that shop about the bag.. i dont think its the same(does yours have a strap to hang it over the pram handle like a normal nappy bag?) but similar pink and 3 flowers on the side. im gonna pick it up this weekend.. its actually what im getting from my sis from the bday money she gave me. gotta love that hehe
ps love the pic of your little girl! im obsessed with pink too.. wonder why  haha.

well today hasnt been the best of days.. started out well.. went food shopping with the kids and they were great.. then my sis came over with her 2yr old twin boys they left at 12.30.. girls went to bed at 1, mikaelah decided not to sleep as did aalivyah.. danielah didnt get up till 3(which completely throws out her going to bed at 7) anyway its just been a long day.. finally got M & D in bed & asleep by 9pm but A still didnt want to sleep.. she was in bed a little before 10.
anyway better go.. need to have a shower and fold washing.. whoever irons i take my hat off to you! i didnt even want to BUY an iron when we moved out lmao! got a cheapy $20 one.. think its been out like twice in the 19months we've lived here.. dont plan on it happening again.. i dont even hang my washing on the line.. ok now i sound slack.. its not really by choice.. i literally can not reach the clothes line.. thank god for driers!

Mornign all.
LOL, sounds like twins! I have this issue too. Put her down and she'll be awake in 5 minutes everytime. Rock her to sleep and shes fine but never really gets into a deep sleep.
My little miss slept less than 2 hours out of 14 yesterday! I kid you not. Sam is missing out on so much and Im grumpy and at my wits end with DH so this morning I put her in her bassinet and was tougher than I usually am and now shes out to it and has been for 50+ minutes. :yelclap:
</p>
Anna I think you just solved my prob - I didn't know week 6 was a massive crying week! Why?!
Apparently they get frustrated as their brain is developing but their motion skills still aren't so at about week 6 they have a massive crying week and then it all starts simmering down about weeks 8-10 when the motion skills catch up with the brain. I do remember with Sam that after 10 weeks things seemed much more settled.
I think I'll have to start taking Iris in the shower as shes too long for the bath
LOL, yeah Leah hits the ends of the baby bath. She had a bath with me last night. My first since having her. Was bliss......... until the kids joined me.

Know the feeling.
With the pooing.......... are you breastfeeding? if so, are you only offering one side? Apparently too much foremilk can cause lots and lots of constant poo.

That may also be down to the fact that his dad is home today being Anzac day and he just likes to play up when he's at home alone with me??? He is always an angel when other people are around!

Griffin slept for 5 hours and then another 4 last night. He is so good to his mummy. Amity woke up in a fowl mood today thought so we put her back to bed and she had another 3 hours sleep. I dont think she got much sleep last night because she has a cold and keeps waking up coughing. Poor thing.

Hey Ladies,
It's taken ages to catch up on the posts, think I am up to date now!
Happy Birthday Carrie for last week, hope you had a fantastic day! Sounds like you got some great pressies!
OMG! I thought it was only Madi playing up today with non stop crying and not settling, I thought maybe she was sick again. Took her temp and all, at least all the other 6 week old bubs are crying and carrying on too. She was awake most of the day.
Thanks for the tips on making the bottles, I think I am going to make them at room temp. scared I might be making them too hot in the microwave.
I too want to take Madi for a shower, but want to know about the temp like Frangi mentioned? I bath Madi on a bath cloth seat in the laundry tub, and she checks herself out in the reflection, it's so funny!! It cracks us up so much.
I have been trying to upload pics of Madi to share with you all, but this laptop will not let me, it takes forever - too slow. I will have to think of something else.
Carrie, I am up for a meet anytime, would be great to meet up with the other Brissy mums too.
Went to my 6 week post baby check up yesterday. Everything is looking good, but I told my OB that I will not be seeing him again for a very long time, still in shock about the whole birth thing. It's still sore down there so no special cuddles, the OB mentioned it was 'thick still', have no idea what that means, maybe something to do with stitches. sorry TMI.
Ok well I am off to watch Big Brother, DH pays me out so bad about watching it. We live across the road from Dreamworld where they film it.
Have a great night ladies!

I think "thick still" means the scar tissue from stitches? Dont know if you had any? My Ob sent me for pelvic floor rehab at the physio - did yours suggest this? Basically the physio just tells me to do my exercices.
Big brother - i think it's rotten how they appear to be trying to cause trouble with the couple, i feel really sorry for the guy in the relationship (can't rememebr his name), i wish he knew about the ex boyfriend, because surely he is going to get upset as some of the tasks the ex has been set.
Elmo - after i got back from the Anzac Day March in the city i've been cleaning too, as usual Alexander has been a dream because his daddy is home today, makes a liar out of me when i describe the days usually! Was Sam home today?
I got the Toys r Us catalogue for their new sale in the mail today - it's a goodie as usual....

Sarah you look great! Nothing what I expected (that doesnt mean I didnt expect you to look great.. just different to what I imagined.)
I'm glad to hear about the 6 week crying thing, toadlet has been unsettled at his 5pm sleep for the last 4 nights. Crying on and off,.. not hysterical, just proetesting grizzly.
With the water temperature, when the midwife came arond she made a bath up for toadlet that was 45 degrees. That seamed a little too warm for my liking so we do it at 43 degrees and he loves it. Not too hot.
I've packed all toadlets winter clothes, its hard now its cooled down to know how much to put on him with blankets and clothes etc.
I had toadlet in my bed for a tummy cuddle with me this morning, I havent done that before, i quite enjoyed it, All three of us in a group hug.
More packing and cleaning tomorrow.
Going to pick up the keys and see the apartment for the first time... Frog better have chosen a good one!!\
Elmo, let me know when you are over here, would love to catch up.
FRANGI, What sleep techniques did she show you?

ok gross but A had a massive tummy ache.. anyway lets just say it came out.. of EVERY part of the nappy it possibly could. lol. chris was holding her and he's like i think she needs a nappy change.. can you hurry.. now sheree.. he has not changed one of her nappies yet. he only ever did D's first one in hospy. i dont care.. i have chubba bubbas so i prefer to do it anyway that way i know theres no poop in their rolls
LT im with you, sarah you're not what i imagined! but that can be taken wrong and i dont mean it like that at all hehe. you look great! i can see you in your kiddies!!
sarah definitely check out the toys r us website.. im thinking of going up on friday.. its like 50mins from me but my friend is gonna be working there so im planning on letting him know what i want and getting it put away :D very cheeky but saves me traipsing around the store with 3 kids in tow!
im so glad swimming goes back tomorrow!! yay! im going to find out about a local dance class too. the lady that did A's twinkle toes frame gave me the number coz her daughter does it & loves it. and i think M will be starting daycare next week.. was going to start her friday but if i end up going to toys r us i'd rather her come with me.. coz i only want her first day to be 2 or 3 hours.. i should probably stop talking about daycare coz it feels like i never go through with it :o lol. i cant help it tho! but i've accepted it'll be good for her and its me worrying not her. i dont want to be one of those mums that hold their kids back coz of how they feel so im just gonna tell myself to shut up and get on with it hehe.
i think aalivyah has slept for like 2 and a bit hours all day. she did go down just after 7pm tho so hopefully she gets a nice nap.. and me!
oh ok TMI but i finally got my period.. thought i struck it lucky this time and it wasnt going to reappear yet! damn! oh well better than after M & D, i had it back by the time they were 4 weeks old. i got nearly 8weeks this time.
speaking of weeks.. aalivyah is 8 weeks old today!!
you girls talking about big brother.. chris has already spoken of his disgust.. but only coz there's no uncut this year haha he's such a perve!

LT and Shez......Totally understand, everyone has certain pics in their head about what people shoudl look like lol its v.funny I would love to know what you gals predicted i would look like???? hehehehe:detective:
BUT just so you know i have v.short hair now, that pic was before i chopped it all off!
LT....I love the threesome cuddles too with dh and Iris, sometimes O jumps in to lol and then its a full house!
BUT its nice just to catch some quiet moments together!
Shez......I use that brauers stomach calm for Iris when shes due for her weekly pooey as it really helps her feel 100% better and she doesnt get so distressed when doing it etc
I have a case of the guilts atm, I feel v.guilty that im bonding with Iris so easily, where as with O i found it v.difficult and it took me a few months
Im thinking its because shes such an easy baby and O was v.unsettled.
Feeling like a bad mummy I dont want to start comparing the two at all:o
Anyone else with more than one found it easier to bond with one over the other???

LT, our hosptial also did the baths really hot. Was suprised but Leah loved it. Try to do them quite hot for her now but sometimes I get chicken that its too hot.
Frangi, Id love to know the settling techniques too.
Shezi, hes never changed a nappy! Wow he gets off lightly.
Re the period, I haven't got mine (hoping it stays away) but I seem to be getting fertile signs again so need to be careful.
Sarah, you look different to what I imagined too. Very beautiful.
Ok, madam is calling. *sigh*. How does one get 5 minutes peace around here?
Have a good day girls.
P.S. Sarah, yes I bonded with Leah much easier than I did with Sam too. I think it just doesn't come as such a shock 2nd time around perhaps.

Sarah - Yep i have bonded a lot quicker with Griffin than what i did with Amity. That might also be because i am breastfeeding Griff though. You look diferrent to what i had imagined to. For some reason i thought that you had wavy really dark brown hair lol, not sure where i got that from though!
Shez - i think that M would love the day care! It is a good idea to make the first few times a bit shorter though, just to reassure her that you will be coming back for her. When i drop Amity off i always say goodbye and tell her that i will see her later when i come to get her.
Poor Griffin has got a bit of a cold again off Amity. Its hard to keep her away from him and it doesnt help that she will stand right over him and cough and of course NOT cover her mouth. Hopefully it will go before it gets any worse.

Happy birthday to Sarah and Carrie!
Caithi - can u pm me the link too pls?
For those who are showering with their babies do you have the temp right down or at normal temp for you?? I am worried about the water being too ot for Callum...
Hey girls, have only read page 2 so still gotta catch up on page 1. I did jump on yesterday while emailing some cute shower pics of Ella to ppl & read your posts but didn't have a chance to post back or reply as DH was waiting for me to watch Saw III.
Frangi - Just had to say that Tuesday was the WORST day with E so far however as soon as her daddy came home & was home yesterday as well she was a PERFECT LITTLE ANGEL!!! She slept most of the day & was FAB last night! Ella must've worn herself out on Tuesday Lol :)
M2B - I love BB too! Not last yr but one before I got to go to a live eviction show for free as my BIL's then gf worked there. It was awesome & I was on TV! I dragged DH along Lol. I also think it is so horrible that he sent Mr X in (literally Mr Ex ...) to put 'pressure' on Hayley & Andrew's relationship when they can't reveal their relationship & she has already said she's single on the outside to throw ppl off the scent so Mr X comes in & flirts wiht her, poor Andrew doesn't know what to think & Hayley can't say he is her ex either! I feel so sorry for Hayley!
So cool you live across from it.
Don't know if I'll be able to catch up & reply on first page as my bestie from Kingaroy is arriving any time wiht her DH & 10 month old for the night (E's future hubby, lol - No pressure kids!). We're going shopping at Carindale (Westfield) just her, me & the bubbas. I have a toddler seat for E's pram so they can go in the same pram to save room in her car but when I'm pushing it or Haylie is pushing it when I'm trying on clothes (I'm going to spend my $100 birthday money & my $30 Just Jeans voucher) ppl will think we had 2 kids like 9 months apart!
I had a positive prg test when Haylie was in Labour with Mason :)
Just have to say again Ella was wonderful last night (once she finally went to sleep after 1 big bottle & a small one - drunk in halves at 2 sep times lol) - she woke 3 hours later at 11.45pm, changed her, had a bottle, woke 3 hours later at 3am & got changed but as content with dummy & drifted back to sleep in my arms, slept til 4.15am, got changed, went to sleep, then finally woke for a bottle at 5.38am!!! WONDERFUL!!! I could change her & be back in bed within 10 mins! Bliss!
She was all smiles & laughing at me and then she slept again until 8.30am for another bottle so this morning I have done the bottles, a load of spewies, made the bed, vacuumed the floor (I'm an obsessed clean freak!), showered, dressed, actually did make-up like I used to for work before I was prg(!) (and feel ridiculous) and straightened my hair (before realising it is so dry, damaged, needs cutting & very gross & put it up again, lol!).
Dyed my hair yesterday - it is now deep burgendy! I like it tho prob won't last long as I had blonde under it so will fade quickly. SOmething had to be done tho!
Ok will go catch up on rest! Sorry for long post!xxx

Sorry to hear that Caithi. Leah went through a patch like that a couple of weeks ago where she was up from about midnight till 6am for a few days. I then learnt the art of lying down to feed :o . Though I am thinking I have to stop that as madam nibbles constantly thorugh the night and 'searches' for the boob so that wakes me - not for long but its enough to stop me getting deep sleep. *sigh*.
Leah is being a monster again today....... Sam isn't much better. I did get a 3 hour sleep out of her last evening and shes only just gone down now (1.45pm) after i have been trying to settle her since about 7.30am.:banghead:

Hi all,
I was told at the hospial to bath the baby at max 37 degrees! That is why I am reluctant to shower with him as I like it a lot hotter than that. What temp do you bath your babies at?
Re settling techniques - the midwife I spoke to said that babies don't know how to settle themselves to sleep and that you have to teach thm how to settle themselves. She said you need to catch their tired signs which are like waves. You need to be a surfer that catches the wave at the right time.
This is what she told me:
First you feed bub one side, then change nappy and offer other side...you need to keep the baby awake during this time.
Then you have play time/tummy time where you lay bubs down on playmate or in bouncer. Once the baby starts to make jerky movements, has clenched fits and gets grizzly it is time to wrap them and put them to bed.
If baby cries you pop in the dummy (if u choose to use one) and give them a gentle pat or rock until they're relaxed again (DON"T ROCK/PAT BABY TO SLEEP!) Then you leave the room, if baby cries again you repeat the process.
For late night feeds or very early morning feeds there is no playtime just straight to bed and if your baby is fast asleep and there is just no way you can wake them during the day..it is ok to put them straight down but they may wake up within a few minutes so you pop the dummy in and give them a pat ect ect.
This techniques doesn't get rid of the unsettled period as that is just what babies do ....Callum was awake from 7:30pm - 11:30pm last night and I ended up feeding him to sleep but hey you do what you have to do to get them and you some sleep. I find this technique works really well during the day and I'm finally getting some things done around the house and with work...
I hope this helps some of you...it just seems to work for us and I think it helps that I feel more confident now and not so pressured to pick him up everytime he cries....she told me that crying doesn't mean they want to be cuddled, they could just be trying to communicate that they are tired and want to go to sleep.
Also this does not mean that when he cries a BIG URGENT CRY that I don't pick him up and give him a cuddle..I can't stand the thought of him feeling neglected, I guess you just learn what is a whinge and what is a "I need you mum" cry.
Sorry I've rambled on...hope this helps??

Hi girls, long time no speak.. I have been to tired and grumpy lately so haven't popped in as i dont want to write a long a$$ post about me, or bring the happy mums down LOL.
Im glad i popped in tho seeing as Antonio was awake from 8pm last night until 8:30am!!!! this morning crying and crying.. now i know why.. he is 6 weeks old. LOL! Thx Annsam for that tip. Usually when he is awake for hours he is silent, adside from the odd cute ooo sound or hiccip, not to mention the farts ROFL!
He is doing well tho, had 6 week check up at GP yesterday Antonio heart is fine, as are his eyes, testicles etc. YAY!
Im still trying to work out if he has actually been smiling or if it is wind? He is also an eager beaver with trying to crawl when on his tummy.. very cute! I figure with such a large head he must have a mega brain in there :D. Already grabbing mummy's hair too, and my god he has a grip.
At 3wks 5 he was 4.1 kilos, just got back from 6 week weigh in and he is a whopping 5.5 kilos! Thats like 12pounds... even the nurse yelled out 1.5kilos! he is only eating 150mls every 4 hrs still) LOL I responded it is his head that weighs so much. His head is still bigger than his body ha ha. So another chubby bubba to add to the list, i kind of knew he was gonna weigh a bit ,when i feed him/pick him up i could feel it. Funny tho as some 000's hang off him and others no longer fit.. stupid non standard sizing i guess.
As for me, i too have my moment, including last night when i yelled at him "what the f$$k are you crying for" and " shut the hell up" when i was so damn tired and sick of hearing it...then i hear Dp say dont fkn yell at him like that you evil b...ch . So that was nasty but made me realise i stuffed up so after that i went outside for a while to calm down, i felt terrible! But im glad to know that other people do this too. I still havent managed to get a sleep in today yet.
I think i got my AF back again, been so long i cant remember what they look like. Im pretty sure its not post partum bleeding tho. Seems a bit redder than what i remember and no p.pain this time so not exactly sure. If AF then going a lot longer than it used to but that could be coz of c-section.. how can you tell if AF or not? Sorry if TMI or stupid question.
Off to catch up on posts, hope all you mums are ok and not going to insane . xoxox

Hey AD!! - I remember yelling at Amity a fair bit when she was a baby. Griffin isnt really much of a crier so i dont have that problem with him, but Amity could become rather trying sometimes. Hang in there! :hugs:
Shez - We pay $60 AFTER centrelink... Mind you, we only get like $4.37 of assistance! Better than nothing i guess lol.
Had to go out today with Amity and all i can say is "Thank f*#k today is over!" I am so sick of her chuckinga patty whilst in her pram. She actually got her feet into the bit where Griff was today and stood on his feet!! Now you all know why i have to sell my Phil & Ted and get a new one... She can bloody well learn to walk. I might just have to tie her harness to the pram for a while.
Grrr gotta go, griff is calling. Ill be back on after the Biggest Loser Finale!

Wow - quiet night tonight! I've just caught up on everything and am soooooo relieved to hear everyone else having settling problems. Sounds terrible doesn't it but its just so good to hear that its not just you having all the problems - they do say misery loves company.
Frangi - totally agree with your tips on settling techniques... that is exactly the methodology that I have been following and while Matthew isn't reponding as well as Ryan did it certainly is slowly working.
I too have been known to yell in frustration at poor little Matt when he just won't sleep and its 3am... we had a couple of good nights but now back to waking at 2ish and 5ish. Aargh - hopefully tonight is the night for a big sleep. I remember Ryan took till 12 weeks then he was basically sleeping thru from 10pm to 6 or 7am. Here's hoping Matt will be the same.
Can't remember what else I was going to say.... Maternity payment came thru yesterday (YAY).
Take care and wishing good sleeps and happy babies to everyone.
PS... LT I've sent you a PM re info I have on circumcision.

Caithi - Hope Anais sleeps a bit better for you today and tonight... Do you have a sleep time routine for her??
Not yet - what is it? :o What do you do?

Then you have play time/tummy time where you lay bubs down on playmate or in bouncer. Once the baby starts to make jerky movements, has clenched fits and gets grizzly it is time to wrap them and put them to bed.

Will try this too - THANKS GUYS!!
ALSO... How long is a baby supposed to be awake for at 5 weeks? When does this change?
What is the best thing to do during unsettled time? Is it ok to pick them up, or does that get them into a bad routine?
Sorry hun just had to laugh as i picture this scenario in my head.....

Not yet - what is it? :o What do you do?
It varies a lot for everyone. Basically you just start doing a simple routine that works for you. You do it every day etc so that Anais begins to notice the routine and know that its nearing bed time. A lot of mums do the Feed, Play, Bath, Book, Bed routine. I find that works pretty well (although i dont always do the book)
If they are really unsettled it is fine to pick them up. if its the early hours of the morning then either pick her up or pat her (what ever works for you) until she is settled and then leave her to go to sleep again. If she begins crying again do it again and again until she falls asleep by herself.
Have you thought of maybe investing in a 'White Sound' cd?? You never know, it may just work. Otherwise you could always turn the dryer or vacuum cleaner on as they produce the same kind of sound.
Remember, in the end though you have to do what works for you and Anais. All of the above are only suggestions and what i have found to work for my kids.
Amity fell asleep in her highchair while i was cooking dinner tonight. We woke her up for dinner and then put her to bed but of course she was over tired and fought it. Thankfully she eventually stopped screaming and fell asleep. If only she would sleep during the day. It would make both our lives much easier.

I might just have to tie her harness to the pram for a while.!
O did this too but only once lol his too scared to do it again:yes:
BUT now Iris kicks him lol he doesnt seem to mind though just says "awww mummy spider girls kicking superman again!" his so cute refers to himself as Sman :D
ALSO... How long is a baby supposed to be awake for at 5 weeks? When does this change?
What is the best thing to do during unsettled time? Is it ok to pick them up, or does that get them into a bad routine?:
Iris is 7weeks and stays up from 30-1hr but then shes a gal that looooves her sleep!
If shes really unsetled she goes straight in the HAB and wa la she settles.
If shes just fussy a lil then i just persist with a pat
Orlando is off to fairfield farm today with his poppy (my dad) its his first solo outing with pops so we'll see how it goes.
My dads been putting it off and waiting till O is fully toilet trained lol his a chicken!
So im off to shop shop shop LOL havent been for so long, must get a cute outfit for the photography session on sunday:D
Have a great day gals!

Is anyone using/going to use and/or recommend one of those baby carrier's (the ones where baby hangs /sits near your chest) i really want to get one as taking a pram everywhere isn't always convinient. Just wondering what ppl use as i wouldn't know which to buy. Doesnt have to be overly fancy, just easy to use and comfy. Thanks in advance.
Caithi when Antonio is unsettled i realised a couple of weeks back that it can just be coz they are lonely sometimes all they want is cuddles with mummy or daddy.
We dont really have a routine yet either, still eat, change, sleep with cuddles or a bath thrown in depending on what is needed. Might have to try the feed, play, book, bath thing myself tho soon, just so he can get a feel for it. Aside from Wed night when he did his awake for 12.5 hrs stint he has been really good settling, and all we have done is feed, burp, change and put back to sleep. Dont worry all babies are certainly different. :hugs:
Sometime after his last night feed between 10pm/12am (depends on his sched lol) he has actually slept thru til 6am... but 80% of the time he still wakes for the 3/4am feed) so i cant wait until he actually does drop it for real rather than play games with mummy.. everytime he sleeps thru i think wooo hoo maybe this is it, nxt night he wakes again. Doh! Im wondering if i should give him a little extra formula current ly on 150mls per 4/5 hrs up it to 175 see if he sleeps thru. Or is that cruel?

Morning.
Well today we are starting a 'routine'..... well thats my theory. Leah has a different one. I realised last night after spending all day trying to settle the little madam that I had a "secrets of the baby whisperer" book that my monster-in-law sent when Sam was just wee so I dug that out and am giving some of her techniques a shot.
Leah slept in her bassinet last night for the second time since we came home from hospital. It was a great achievement though we did have 2.5 hrs of waking time in the middle of the night when she wanted her dummy and kept dropping it
Thanks for the tips Frangi. Did she say what to do when teh baby really wants her dummy but keeps dropping it then crying to have it back? LOL. What she suggested was actually not far off the baby whisperers techniques.
AD, welcome back. Ive had those moments too dont worry. Though I dont think DH would talk to me like that. :shame:
Re the baby carrier. Ive used both baby bjorn and hug-a-bub and LOVE the hug-a-bub though DH uses the baby bjorn. Its a bit awkward to figure out at first but it only takes twice to get teh hang of it. They can nestle into your chest and you can keep their heads secure when they sleep plus the material covers a wide area of yoru shoulders and back for better support though I do believe they make a baby bjorn now with better back support.
Maternity payment...... yes........ Ive been waiting for it then DH found the form I haven't yet posted. Anyone else feel like they are loosing their marbles? Im doing some dumn a$$ things lately.
Caithi, re the awake time......... Leah reckons 14 hours is a good time to be awake  :banghead: . Ive read recently that between 1 hr to 1.5 hrs though looking at leahs 'tired signs' Id say 30-45 minutes for her at the moment still. If only shes listen.
Its daycare day so Im going to rest my poor pounding head with a chick flick, cup of tea and hope to hell Leah is finally asleep (its only taken 4 hrs).

Hello my yummy mummies
Yesterday getting to the ob was a nightmare! Lol. Friends [H, P & M - H (best friend), P (her DH) & their son Mason (Ella's DH lol)] arrived around 10.45am & E & M were both just about due for a feed (all E had to do before we went to the shops was have a bottle & a bum change). But as per usual when we go out & have to be somewhere at a certain time, E kept sleeping on the bottle, taking forever to drink it then I changed her nappy to wake her up & she'd done poohs. Tried the rest of the bottle and it took like an hour! Only when we go out!!! Then she spewed all over her clothes so changed her - had to change her into 3 new outfits in the space of about 5 mins before I even got her off changetable cos she kept spewing! Again - only when we go out!!!
By the time we put the car seat in, my pram & toddler seat, put the bub's suitcases in (nappy bags!), got the kids in and got going we didn't get to the shops til nearly 1pm so had KFC once we got their.
Ob was at 4pm so had to leave ideally by 3.15pm, getting home about 3.30pm so we could come home first & drop M off with his dad and leave my place by 3.45pm to be at ob by 3.55pm.
Ella ended up wanting to be carried when she woke up, M lay in the pram as was getting wingy on toddler seat (OMG it was so hard to push the pram with a toddler, newby, 2 nappy bags & 2 handbags, lol!). The lady in JeansWest talked to us for friggin hours as well.
I ended up using my $100 b'day cash plus my $30 Just Jeans voucher & contributed $49.95 and got myself 2 tops from JeansWest, 2 tops & a pair of jeans from Just Jeans. Didn't get my cardi - want a long big one, plus an o/s jumper & bra yet but did very well. Unfortunately most jeans were too tight and ended up getting bigger size than expected even though my jeans at home in my normal size fall down ... weird ... but the ones I got sat up higher - hipsters were tight on my scar so will have to wait some more. These are meant to be hipsters but so short they're not lol but look nice! Bad thing is I always need like a smaller size in the legs and bum - I always have HEAPS of room in the back but cuts in the tummy :( ... Styles of tops etc out are awesome & great to hide a post-baby body! I had no idea what was out as haven't seen a mag for 8 weeks! Lol...
Anyhoo getting off track! Changed E's nappy before we left and her clothes again as she'd vomitted (AGAIN) and left. E was doing the worse cry in the car - she has NEVER screamed like that, she doesn't really cry like that ever, more of a whimper except this week) and realised she must've been starving. Heaps of friggin traffic but got home, dropped M off, runnig late for Ob so I jumped in back seat & gave E a bottle (a bit cold but I was desparate - or rather she was!). She drank only a few mls, I had spilled formula on me - ew - she spewed everywhere again, I had to change tops in the car to a new one (lucky) and E had a white bib on where u could see the off coloured stinky spew, H pushed the pram & held my stuff while I walked into dr feeding (or trying to) then GUESS WHAT???
Told receptionist I was there for 4pm appt & she said I had NO APPOINTMENT!!!!!!! I said I do, I have the card, it's my 6 week post natal check-up & I booked it 7 weeks ago! She told me ot just sit so thought I'd have to wait for a gap like at GP but he saw me straight away.
Anyhoo I felt like a bad mum. Usually I am more organised & wanted E to be fed, changed and CLEAN! I was so exhausted last night.
SORRY FOR THE VERY LONG 'ME' POST - Will catch up on last page now ... xxx

we are quiet on here today arent we?
fyi - for any perth mums - i went to Babyswim today at St John Hospital Subiaco - its 1.5 hours total, 20 minutes in the water with bubs, then change baby and feed them if needed, then 45 minutes aqua cardio for mum, while a St John Staff member "babysits" all the babies in their prams.
It was lots of fun - singing to the babies.
It's for babies 8 weeks to 6 months of age.
It cost $22 - and because the facilitator is a physio it can be claimed from Health Fund.
Also went to toysrus sale last night, bought the Malawi mobile for Alexanders change table finally.

Ok - firstly, obviously AF is your period but what does AF stand for?
Secondly - routines. We do change, feed, burp, sleep during night (although trying now not to get her up at all as after a few nights where she doesn't want a bottle I am not gonna bother changing her either unless badly needs it, will just put dummy in, re-wrap her & stick mobile on & walk out - and put dummy in a couple of times lol & cuddles if upset).
Before "bed" she wakes up at bath time (around 5pm) and has bath, feed, cuddles (while watchin neigbours & H&A/BB lol) "bed. If you feed before bath you usually get a lot of spew as the warm water expands their stomach & they vomit.
Day time she wakes, feed then change (instead of night where we change then feed as she'll wanna stay awake if we do that) then play time in her bouncer where she'll end up getting tired while I do housework & she has her morning nap there for a little while.
Last couple of days she has been wanting feeds from about 2 hours sometimes! Must be a growth spurt or something. We have been up past 8.30pm last couple of nights and she has had feeds around 9pm then stayed awake not settling until another small bottle at 10.30pm but then not needed bottles during the night til 4 but still waking up.
Tested not changing & feeding last night after she went down at 10.30 - she slept til nearly 3.30am!!! I wrapped her, put dummy in & ended up cuddling her as wouldn't settle well. She went to sleep until 4.15am when I fed her & changed her. Didn't go back to sleep then so when DH left at 5.10am she came into bed with me. She didn't wanna stay on his side in her SNS thing so I didn't have to hold her by my side so I had to cuddle her but then she let me sleep til 8.30am. So tired today though.
AD - WELCOME BACK!!!
Ok gtg cos DH is home & E needs her shower.
Ciao Bellas!!! xxx

Mega Quick Me post.
Move dhouse today, 8/10th of the way complete only a little unpacking left.
I also have to assemble a shed to put in our car port... thats a toad job, Frog isn't that way orientated.
Ok. Toadlet this evening acted like he was on drugs! WIRED. looking everywhere, eyes wide open and just distracted with everything. .. is it the new place?
He is OBSESSED with the black and white photos that I got framed for the frog for the Festival of Bzzz.
He wasnt even sucking his bottle cause he was so alert.I had to take him to HIS BEDROOM * (he ow has his own room not the loungeroom) and feed him with the lights off so he would stop starng at everything.
Ok sleepies, very tired after a 5am start.
Will read posts tomorrow xx

Ok i have read everything but my mind is like a sieve and i forget everything pretty much straight away.
Fristime - That sounds great! My first thought was the same as Shezi's... i wonder if they would watch Amity! Doubt it!
LT - I would say that Monty is a bit out of sorts from the move. Im sure it wont take him long to 'de-wire'. Babies do find it easier to distinguish between black and white at this young age so that may be why he loves the pics so much! Bet you are glad to be in your new place! (apart from the chore of having to unpack!0
Shez - So glad to hear that M had fun at her daycare! I bet she will really start to look forward to it every week.. Is it just one day per week??
Sarah - I did that same thing as you today but took Amity with me to the shops (i met up with my bestfriend) I spent too much money lol but i had a good time!!
Griff is asleep on his little rug at the moment so im gonna go sit and enjoy Friday Night Live!! Ciao!

Ok, major ME post and brag :smiliedance: . After spending ALLLLLL day with Leah yesterday doing the baby whisperer techniques (you've heard me go on about how bad a sleeper she is), last night at 10pm I put the dummy in and didn't hear a peep out of her till 3.30am!!! Then back to bed without a dummy before 4.30 and she slept till 7.30.
Shes now back an hour later, took 3 minutes of settling and shes been asleep for 20 minutes so far (better than the 10 minutes I consistantly got out of her yesterday). So Im one happy mummy with 8 hrs sleep! Dont know what to do with my wide open eyes.
Not counting my chickens yet but its a bloody good start.
Shezi, I wore pre-prego shoes the toher day and have a blister the size of grand canon.
Great news re teh daycare.
Sarah, yeah not a good move on pops part but never mind. As long as no harm done and he learns for next time.
LT, congrats on the move. Glad it went well. The whole b&w thing apparently is the colours babies are best attracted to as they do them in mobiles for young babies so yeah, maybe he is really attracted to the contrasting colours.
Cant think what else. So on cloud nine.
Have a great day girls.

:yelclap: welldone Leah for sleeping good for your mummy.
Glad that you got some sleep Annsam.
I still have a little champion sleeper. Rarely wakes before 4am and days sleeps are great too. She has one good 3 hours sleep during the day which I try and time in with DS and the other 3 sleeps are usually 1 hour each. Yesterday DH and I had 3 hours together in the middle of the day so it was very nice just realxing and talking and taking every bit of advantage of the situation :D
LT Jacey is being very alert and distracted on her feeds too (although breastfed). It gets quite frustrating but she cant help looking at where all of the noise is coming from....DS!! of cause.
My parents are back this morning and calling in shortly. They havent seen the kids for nearly 3 weeks so I think they will be quite shocked at how much Jacey has grown. Cant wait to go shopping with my mum now she's back.
Well DH is back onto his shift work which is great as they were going to can it, so he has to work tonight and then has 4 days off!
Nothing else to report....oh ourhouse plans are back to square one. The builder wants too much money for the house and land thing we were looking at so we have to start again. Very cranky as he has wasted 3 months of our time - and prices are climbing by the minute. He was sooo slow in getting us a price and he is a little builder so I think he is charging a lot more than the big builders. So DH has taken DS to look at some display homes and a house that may suit us.
OK enough about me.... hope you all have a great weekend
PS I have already been looking at 1st birthday cakes for Jacey!!! Well I am looking for DS so thought I would look for her too. Think I will do a Train for Logan this year as he just loves them! Yep I'm planning ahead :D

im just so frustrated with d.. shes nearly 18months she should be sleeping! i really hope it was a once off. but putting her to sleep last night i had to bf on the floor next to her cot coz she screamed if i walked out and M was sleeping so i didnt want her sleep interrupted.. so close to ringing chris and having a go at him haha. wouldve made me feel better..:devil6:

Hey Shezi I have the Womens Weekly one which is OK but there is not that many good girls cakes I dont think. They do have all of the numbers though. Just as easy to borrow from the library and photocopy the cakes you think you would like. I will stick to my womens weekly one though - they are at the newsagent so have a quiz through it next time you are in there.
Yeah I forgot to say Nemosmum that my Dad would do something like that too!! He had the job of looking after Logan while I was in labour and anyway lets just say lucky it all happened during the night while DS was sleeping cause he hasnt even changed a nappy in like 28years!! He did tell me though if it came to it he would hose him off outside!! Sometimes they just have no idea hey!!
Well little possum has had her 3 hours sleep and is going down again...wonder how much I will get!
Hmm DS woke up too last night - wonder if its his eye teeth as they are a bit swollen....nasty things.
Shezi DS when through something similar 2 weeks ago and it lasted 3 nights. Still have no idea why he didnt want to go to sleep cause usually he just goes without a fuss. I did the same thing b/f jacey on the floor cause I couldnt leave the room. In the end I had to get him up and wait until she went to be and then rocked him to sleep in the chair. thankfully it didnt last long

Only 1 page to read today! Yay! Lol
Shezi - I was given the brand new Womens Weekly one which has some of the originals in it plus some awesome new ones. It is well worth it. Mum always made us our b'day cakes which we'd choose out of the old one & do a gr8 job (she's an awesome cook!) but even though I am told they're easy, they don't seem it to me so I think it'll be DH's job! I can make patty cakes lol. PS That's amazing - 8pm to 4am?! NO FAIR!!! :)
Anna - Congrats re the sleeping!
Although I shouldn't complain as E is getting heaps better now. She is prob having a growth spurt as been having bottles around every 2 hours (even if she only has a few mls) in afternoon and her last one (yay I can finally say last one for the night!) around 10.30. She has then been sleeping nearly 5 HOURS(!) til 3.15-3.30am where I just put her dummy in, put mobile on & walk out. This is done a couple of times as she doezes lightly & drops the dummy & has a winge and also when moblie stops but she'll go back to sleep til about 4.15-4.30am where I then feed & change her so she sleeps til around 7am.
This morning I was so so so tired so after her 7am bottle I quicly did bottles, hung some washing, had a shower (she was in her bouncer & was dozing again even though she is usually wide awake then!) then we went back into my bed & slept til 11am! Ella was stirring from about 11 but put the dummy in & we got to snooze til just after 11.30! I feel so much better now but the day's gone!
Can't wait for BB tomoz night to see Andrew's reaction to Billy & Hayley's 'relationship'. Poor girl!
LT - Monty sounds so adorable! Hope you are enjoying the new unit. Think you should def get the play rug Sarah posted! So cute. Ella was like that when we got home from the hospital - looking around & taking everything in. She now strains her neck to see the tv when she is on the play mat or computer screen if I am on it. Also when I get her out of the cot cos she wants a bottle she strains her neck looking at her mobile as if saying good bye! Haha.
You will have to post some photos of Monty in his new room!
Had to take my gay-@r$e mobile back to be fixed again & only went back to using it last week! I want a new one & not that brand! I don't wanna be paying for a phone that keeps f**king up hey :(
Sarah - lucky O was okay!!! Bit different now to 20-something yrs ago too!
Yay! I can drive this week as 6 weeks was up on Thurs. Will have to get the car 1 or 2 days (after bl00dy driving David to work at 5am :( ) so I can go see my friend or my mum or go to the shops to exchange a shirt I didn't try on the other day lol).

Sarah - I love the mat you bought for Iris... Too cute lol Cant wait to see ur pics from the photoshoot!
I have read all the posts but cant really remember much.. So sorry, its almost like i need to read them out loud and block one ear to make sure they dont just go straight out the other side!
Well I went and bought my new pram today. Trying to take Amity anywhere was getting beyond a joke. I got the new Valco RAD (http://www.babyonabudget.com.au/05/more_info.asp?prd=1121) They only the Midnight blue though so thats what i got. Im not really fussed though (although the Aqua blue is my fave!) Now all i need to do is sell the Phil & Ted to replace the money i took from our savings! :o
Griffin was soo good for me last night. He fell asleep at 9.30pm and slept for a whopping 7.5 hours!!! He woke for a feed at 5am then went back to bed at 5.30 and slept till 9am.. I love my little man! :D

Thanks Sarah & Lana! She did some arty-farty ones too of the feet and hands and top of her head etc but these were my fav. Yes she is a chubby bubby. Sam was like a stick so its nice to have some meat on teh bones.
Sarah, cant wait to see your photos. How exciting. Hope they are everything you want.
Lana, I brought a new pram today too...... well actually, I haven't brought it yet and its not new. Its a friends second hand mountain buggy (single) and Ive said I will buy it if its still available. congrats on yoru purchase. It looks really neat. Nice and compact.
Well done on the sleep. Our day sleeps haven't been fantastic today but we're getting there at least.

Sorry - baby brain ( yes im still using that excuse and Im sticking to it he he )..
Had it done on Friday and its so cute cute cute! The lady was really sweet! Well worth it for the Sydney mommas!
Caithi, re the awake time......... Leah reckons 14 hours is a good time to be awake .
They sound like they could be related!!
I ended up using my $100 b'day cash plus my $30 Just Jeans voucher & contributed $49.95 and got myself 2 tops from JeansWest...
Ahhhhh you must feel ike a million bucks babe ... now go strut your sexy momma stuff in your new threads!:yelclap:
I bought the cutest lil be'be outfit for Iris plus some great stuff at cotton on kids (love that store) and a cute tracksuit for me (for my walking workouts!)

Im thinking of getting O into dancing too shez,
OMG! You are going to send me broke lol - am so shopping right now lol!
Cant wait for A to be old enough to do some style of dance. I am a qualified ballett teacher ( although slightly old so may have to re do lol - like 10 years ago  - I feel so old lol) It would be so cool to be able to teach her class - and maybe embarrass her lol
What is the secret???? Please please please share!!!
I had a night from 6 pm till 9 am with 30 min sleeps at one stage but thats it the night before last so yesterday i kept her up ( but she was soooooo tired and unhappy - bottom lip thingy was happening ) and she slept from 2:15 am until 9.05 am BUT I felt awful for keeping her up!
Shezi - I was given the brand new Womens Weekly one which has some of the originals in it plus some awesome new ones. It is well worth it. Mum always made us our b'day cakes
Can't wait for BB tomoz night to see Andrew's reaction to Billy & Hayley's 'relationship'. Poor girl!
Ohhhhhhh cakes! Anyone ha any ideas for a christening cake???
Big brother is on again????? OMG I completely missed it !

Hi Caithi and Firstime,
I'm up as well. Going to finally reply to the past 2 pages of posts while I am doing a few other things online.
You'll probably be sleeping and off with the fairies by the time that I finish it (mypost) lol. My posts are always soooo long. Guess its because I don't come on or don't reply for about 3 days sometimes.. due to being so busy being a Mummy and keeping up with the housework and friends while Craig is working his 12 or 13 hour shifts...
I'd rather be at home with Chelsea and doing all I do, instead of out working such long hours like he does though! I wouldn't have the energy to be a manager.

Ok, since bubs has been born she has been watching things over my shoulder... thought it may be her trying to focus etc etc....
Then last night my DH said to me...
Was your mum here last night? ( she has been known to stay with me to help at night)
I said no, why?
He said "Yes she was. I heard someone saying shhhhhhhhhh shhhhhhhhh to the baby through the monitor"
MUM WASNT HERE!!!!
OMFG!! Im terrified now to get out of bed so she is now permanently co-sleeping with us.

Nemosmum - that playmat that you got for Iris is absolutely gorgeous. Chelsea already has one that I spent $130.00 on but I am sooo tempted to get her another one that we can take places with us. We'd keep in in the back of the wagon so when we went to visit people like Nana Jude (my Mum) & Grandpa Alan or Grandpa (my Dad) & Nana Chris OR Weniki and Pa (Craig's Mum & Dad) we'd have it there to take inside.. Craigs mum (Wendy) wants to be called Weniki as that is her name in Hawaiian - not that she is Hawaiian lol.. she just thinks it's a kewl name. I can see Chelsea running around when she is older calling out "Niki .. Niki...come and find me or come and get me, Niki, I am over here" How cute!
BTW - I think it would be cool if you could get Orlando into dancing!! He'd be able to use up some of that endless energy he has.
LT - Congrats on your new place. I still have boxes and boxes of things here that need unpacking and we've been in our house for a year.. I wish you, Frog and Toadlet all the best. I am sure you will fill that place with many happy memories....
Ohh Ohhh Ohhh... 1 year exactly today! Wooohoo! I can't believe we bought our house 1 year ago! OMG.. I'm sooo proud! We were trying for Chelsea at this time a year ago too. Wow, how time flies!
Anna - I am sooo glad that Leah is sleeping better. I knew things had to change soon.
Something interesting that the peadiatrician told me on Tuesday when we went to visit him was that when a baby reaches 5kg (5000g) or just above, they should pretty much be sleeping 6 hours. If they aren't then it's not that far off and to hold out with your patience because it'll be a happening thing before you know it. I guess there are the occasional fussy babies that sleep on and off or cat nap but on a par, they should be capable of sleeping for a 6 hour stint at some stage per 24 hours. That evening Chelsea slept for her first 6 hour sleep.. I think she must have been listening to the doctor LOL - Maybe you should all tell your bubbas that.. tell them to listen to their Mummies because Mummies know best! Since then Chelsea has been having one 4-6 hour sleep every day. She doesn't sleep any longer than 4 hours at night... and always wants to wake up around 7am every morning regardless of the time of her last feed before then.
Geez Adelaide has had about 120mm of rain in the past 3 days.. how wonderful but now its wet and cold. Have the heater on at the moment so we don't freeze. I can't complain about the rain because it's sooo dry. Although not as dry as parts of NSW and QLD. I hope they get some rain shortly...
Tazzy - I am so sorry to hear about the stuff around with your house plans. What a bugger! Some people are just sooo frustrating aren't they! Sounds like your little champion sleeper is doing REALLY well. She must be taking so much in during the days if she is awake for so long.. oh, I guess I should be saying "if she is only sleeping in one hour blocks". She's probably a bit like Chelsea.. Doesn't want to miss a beat. Hmm yeah I forgot we have twins, don't we hehehe
Chelsea is getting so dependent on her Fisher Price Aquarium. We went to my cousins tonight and I didn't take it with me as it stays on the arm of the lounge next to where she sleeps during the day or while I am awake (on the lounge).. and she wouldn't go off to sleep because she didn't have the music there from it. Grrr, she was unsettled for 4 hours because we didn't take it with us. I'll be buggered if I am going to take it everywhere we go. AS soon as we got home, I put it on for her and layed her on the lounge and BANG, she's out like a light. She did the same thing last night. Poor little vegemite. I am going to have to break that dependency, before it gets out of hand.
Okay I am going to have to post this post and then start another one as this is the length of an essay already LOL and I still have so much to write about .. eg Chelsea's immunisations, her 6-8wk health check and the her results of her hip ultrasound.
Scoob
29-04-2007, 01:55 AM
Caithi - Now you have me a little freaked...
Are you sure DH wasn't pulling your leg or hearing things...? Maybe it was just Anais breathing deeply. Well I hope it was just her breathing deeply. Gees, if Dh was kidding around, it's a pretty cruel joke to be playing. Did you ask him how sure he was that that's what he heard?
Scoob
29-04-2007, 02:18 AM
The only reason I am up so late is because we were at my cousin's until after 12.30am. Craig was feeling real sick so he went to bed and I wanted to make sure that he got a couple of hours of uninterrupted sleep. Chelsea will be due to wake for a feed shortly and after her feed, I am cruising off to bed.
So with that said.. I will have to post another post tomorrow to fill you all in on her immunisations, doc report and hip ultrasound report. Im getting too tired. I guess its understandable because it's almost 3am. Lucky I have no plans for tomorrow hey... I can sleep for most of the day (while Chelsea is sleeping anyways).
I hope you & your beautiful Babies are ALL off in dreamland!!

Caithi - Sometimes baby monitors can pick up the signal from another baby monitor. Ive had that happen to me before.. Try changing the channel from A to B or vice versa...
Re the smallprint tags, She should have told you that Anais' fingerprints wouldnt show up until 16 weeks...
Hey Kym! Now that you mention it, Griffin finaly strted sleeping his minimum 6 hourly stint at night once he was over 5kg!! Interesting, very interesting!
Kym - maybe just try not to use the FP Aquarium to get Chelsea to sleep at every sleep. Perhaps just saving it for night times will lessen the dependency on it.. :fingerscrossed: anyway!

Hey lovely march mummies
Well we just got back from our trip last night at about 10:30 and I have just finished unpacking and caught up on all the posts lol.
The trip was rather boring but at least all the in-laws hogged Cooper so I got a good break. Cooper was so good on the plane and car trip as we flew from Brisbane to Sydney, Sydney to Wagga, drove from Wagga to Griffith. So we basically left home at 6am and arrived in Griffith at 6pm and Cooper slept most of the way. The stupid Europcar hire place sucked. When we got to Wagga they said 'oh the baby seat is in the boot. You have to put it in yourself.' Then we needed an extension for the seat. The guy had left for the day so we had to ring the main office and they didn't believe us that you need an extension. They called the guy back and he rang head office and they didn't believe him either. And the stupid woman said if we wanted the extension we had to buy it ourselves....(We couldn't drive anywhere without the extension to buy the extension IYKWIM). Luckily enough a man from Thrify Car rentals was still working and I asked him if they had a cars with carseat available and he said yes and he gave it to us for the same price as Europcar. Although we did have to put that carseat in ourselves as the young guy didn't know how and he wanted us to show him how as his wife was due to have a baby in 7 weeks LOL.
Anyway after all that we had a pretty good week except DH's relo's are all scabs lol...His dad asked us out for dinner with his girlfriend and when it came time to pay he said 'Oh I don't have any money I'm broke this week.' So we had to fork out $100 for dinner  . The girlfriend didn't even offer to pay any of it.
Cooper did sleep through the night while we were away :smiliedance: . I feed him at about 6pm and he was sleeping on and off till about 9pm when I put him down to sleep and he slept till 5:30am. So I'm very happy about that, and he has continued to sleep pretty much like that.
Anna lovely photo's, and that great that Leah's having some decent sleep for you.
Anyway sorry for the me post. I've just finished all the washing from while we've been away so I might go and have a few more winks.

Lana.....Very cool new purchase in the pram dept. you'll have to post some pics I havent seen the midnight blue Rad before (I have abit of a pram obsession lol can you tell!)
While im on the subject Anna, grab that MB coz they are a GREAT pram and have a really good re sale value
Can i ask why is it that boys are the ones that get the extra long thick stunning gorgeous eye lashes and the girls are left with thin crappy ones?????
O has drop dead to die for thick jet black lashes
while poor lil Iris has these peedley lil thin crappy ones!!!!
Ok vent over.....any girls out there with thick beautiful ones?
Caithi...ya dag you obviously dont speak fluent shopaholic mummy slang yet, never fear you will soon learn:laughing:
1sttime....impressive you must learn fast! hahahaha
I agree Caithi, COK aka cotton on kids lol have the best kids stuff, got O a cute T rex hoodie and i bought Iris one of those pink skull and cross bone jump suits!
The My mum Rocks shirts are way:cool: I got one at kmart for O last season for like $2
Wow Caithi you must have a killa bod if you were a dancer;) that would be so cute to teach her class, can you teach Iris too?
How about Leah and Monty as well??? hehehehe Monty already has the tu tu!!!
Re: christening cakes, we are doing a double decker vanilla sponge with white thick butter cream icing and just topping it with fresh flowers (Iris's of course!) kinda like a simple wedding cake, think it will look stunning though!
Re: the boori cots i would have no idea, maybe email them and see.
Caithi......re the whole baby monitor ghost thing, that would totally freak me out too!
When we transfered O into his cot when he was about 6wks old we would hear him giggling in the middle of the night and dh insisted it was his mother (whose passed) talking and playing with him!
One night he started to cry and then stopped straight away again dh insisted it was his mum.....he believes this stuff very deeply!
God it freaked me out heaps!
With Iris though we've had nothing lol her god mother reckons thats because dh's mother has been reincarnated and has come back as our Iris:eek:
Scoob.....love that post about your MIL lol very cute
Congrats on the anniversary fo buying your home
I cant wait to move into ours...god knows when thats going to happen!
Emma....glad to hear Cooper is a seasoned traveller now, how cute his first plane trip!
Hmmm maybe he'll be a pilot and tell all the girls his been flying since he was a baby hahahaha
That sux about your FIL, mines tight too but luckily not that tight!
Have a great day girls!

Roxy slept 7hrs in a row last night!!! Thats her longest yet. Shame it was 6-1 but cant complain. Will be even better when its all the way thru.
Not much else happening here., just been busy with the girls as Jazz has been having so much trouble with her molars.
Also i am booked in to get my tattoo in a couple of weeks so i will post some pics when its done. Only a teensy bit sacred! Oh well i have gone thru labour twice so im sure i can do a total of 6 hrs of tattooing...Wish me luck!

Hello girls
OMG so much for thinking Ella was just about sleeping thru last couple of nights - I think she has been talking to your Leah, Anna! Lol.
E is going thru this wanting to be held all day thing last few days (6 weeks thingy) & she ended up sleeping heaps yesterday & then stayed awake all bl00dy night last night!!! Everytime I'd put her down she'd cry after a few mins of talking to herself. She was annoying cos she'd 'laugh' at me when I picked her up.
She'd taken about an hour to drink her 10pm bottle as she kept smiling & talking to me (cute, but not when mummy is wanting to sleep!) & she pretty much stayed up until 12 midnight when she wanted another top up feed (I was contemplating coming online then but I can never be bothered plugging internet in, turning computer on etc - I so need a laptop & wireless broadband!) ... she kept waking everytime 5 mins after I put her down & I ended up sticking her in our bed - we used a small triangle pillow at her head end & around her so we could have E in the middle & a normal pillow under her bum and then me & DH had to lie on our sides with our @r$e$ falling off the bed as no room!!! So need a kingsize ...
Ella then slept til 5am & I gave her a bottle & put her in her cot as she was asleep & woke again so removed the pillows in middle of bed & I cuddled her & she slept til just after 8am & has been up ever since! She keeps falling asleep on us & we put her down & she cries! Hopefully tonight she will be better as surely she must be exhausted by now?
Urrrghhh ....

Hi all,
Just a quickie as Callum is due to wake any minute!
Anna - those photos are fantastic!
Caithi - Callum often smiles and gurgles whilst looking in the distance and yes it can be freaky but I like to think that it might be one of his great granparents popping in for a visit from "the other side" LOL! DH is going to China for work again soon just hope they dont come visiting then as I am a big SCARDY CAT on my own!
Emma - glad to hear your trip went well and no offence but that was very rude of your DH's dad...families ehhhh.
Lucky Ladies all having your bubs sleeping for long periods of time. Callum is settling much better at the moment which is a relief..
Got to go bub is calling my name "waaaaaaah"

Caithi - I enquired about getting the fingerprint done on the bracelet for my joint b'day / Mother's Day present as website implies you do steps 1-3 and they do steps 4-12 but no they do all of it so I can't have it done as they aren't in Brisbane and couldn't recommend anywhere similar in Brisbane. So disappointed, I had my heart set on that so I could add each baby's fingerprint to the bracelet.
Ella was put down & woke again & is now sleeping on DH ...
She has her 6 week paed appointment tomorrow (even though she is in week 7). DH got tomoz off for it but worked yesterday morning but I don't mind as he got overtime yesterday & his boss is gonna pay him as being there tomorrow instead of an RDO so that's so good!
I am worried about the paed account from hospital as it is $505 plus our visit tomorrow will bring it to about $600 & Medicare told DH they don't cover it as it was as an inpatient in the hospital! We were relying on getting our money back from them!
Hopefully Medibank will refund some? Does anyone know about this?
Emma - Welcome back! That is gr8 about Cooper's sleeping but not very nice of your FIL at dinner!!! How annoying! I was wondering where you were lol.
DId you wanna meet up with me & M2B some time as I said the Sydney girls are having a meet up & I think us (in and aruond) BrizVegas girls should too.
Jaimie - You in?
Mum2Ryan? You too?
BIRTHDAYS - I know it is like 11 months off lol but I was thinking we could organise like a secret santa type thing for the bubs' birthdays next year? What are your thoughts?
Anna - Fab photos! I think Leah, Anais & Ella all look similar!
Caithi - That reminds me - my best friend was looking thru my baby name book when they stayed here Thurs night & she found the name Anais & said she'd luv that name! I'd never heard it before you! Her mum apparently has the Anais Anais perfume (you should buy some for Anais for when she's older!) but the pronounciation in my book is Anay-is.
Crying again ... Screaming! Poor chicky sounds like she's in pain. Maybe growing pains? Please HELP! She is also dribbling heaps and spewing heaps & even chunky spew sometimes. HELP HELP!!!

carrie - i had problems getting any money back from both HBF and MEdicare for paed accounts (now around $700, and have another visit coming up). HBF told me they wouldnt pay because the baby wasnt "admitted" into hospital, even though he WAS, 10 minutes after birth he was admitted to neonatal for 2 nights, but HBF say that paed saw him before he was admitted - by 10 minutes!!!!!
i am still waiting to hear from medicare. oh well, the doctor will have to wait for his money.....
ELMO - are you getting the girl from caversham to do the small print? DO yuo know if you have to go to her place or does she come to you?

Caithi......re the whole baby monitor ghost thing, that would totally freak me out too!
When we transfered O into his cot when he was about 6wks old we would hear him giggling in the middle of the night and dh insisted it was his mother (whose passed) talking and playing with him!
One night he started to cry and then stopped straight away again dh insisted it was his mum.....he believes this stuff very deeply! God it freaked me out heaps!
With Iris though we've had nothing lol her god mother reckons thats because dh's mother has been reincarnated and has come back as our Iris:eek:
Nemosmum I think this is beautiful that your hubby thinks its his mum talking and playing with O. I read once that when babies smile in their sleep they are talking to angels.
Annsam they are such nice pics.
Hey has anyone changed their mind about having more children?? Dh is slowly convincing me to only have the two. I was set on 3 originally and I cant stop thinking about it all of the time. DH said we will talk about it again in a year. I wonder how I will feel in a year???
Sorry I cant remember all of the posts AGAIN!! My memory is terrible since having kids.
Both kids are having their BIG sleep so I can do nothing - yipee (love when they time that together). hubby has gone fishing for the day/night too.
Anyway better go.
