View Full Version : is there a website that explains step by step how to make an mcn?
I have done a little bit of sewing, but am no expert by any means, so would have to be a real dummy explaining site... are there any out there?
Try Wee Weka. If you google nappy network they have links to wee weka patterns that have really easy instructions. This is the one other bubhubbers suggested I start on. It was good.
this is what i made mine from

Nuddle,
I did a tutorial for Shed on how to do the elastic in a pocket nappy.

thanks girls, once the new mummy fog wears off, might have to give it a go, whats a good material to use?
Well thats a whole other kettle of fish:D
What sort do you want to make? Pocket, AIO, Fitted???
For a pocket. Either PUL or Malden Mills Fleece outer and Fleece/suedecloth inner. Usually. Then something absorbant to stuff it with. I like Bamboo personally.
For an Aio usually the same inner and outer with absorbant layers sewn in.
And a fitted is just the absorbant layers sewn together and a seperate cover is needed.
HTH
I can further elaborate on any if needed.
thanks, was thinking of trying a fitted.
Ok well now I will just sit back and see what is suggested. I want to make a fitted but was also unsure exactly what to make it out of and how many layers etc.
Shanz - have you read the tips and hints and pattern pages here, especially Siobhan's photo comparison of the main three free fitted patterns?

Our sewing FAQ is yet to be revamped, but there's a bit of useful stuff in it:
