Have you got some favorites? What's popular? What do you like/what don't you like?
I used the 3 names I liked already on my first child - LOL so now DH and I are pondering and can't come to any conclusion :P
So........ any definates you would like to share?

Well I really love Ava Louise for a girl, so we have decided on that one.
For a boy my hubby really likes Liam, I do to but if I come across a better one.... which I havent, so we probably have Liam (which I'm sure I'm having a boy).

We've got heaps of names on our lists still.... but if I think I've made my mind up, I soon get sick of it, and think "Nah, maybe not" KWIM?

Earlier on in the pregnancy DH and I were thrashing some names about (which I mentioned in the previous names thread, so I won't repeat here), but now we've decided to wait until the 20 week scan, so we have a better idea of which names to focus on. Of course we will still have a name chosen for a boy and a girl.
I'm very undecided, but DH likes Vashti for a girl. We are finding boys names very hard.

We are having HEAPS of trouble picking a boy name coz we just cant agree on one we like. We did like Taneasha for a girl but we have recently decided on "Amberley Claire" for a girl.

I have a few in mind but want them to tie in with my other lot :D i will be planning on using a version of my dads name as a middle name though Will, william or billie for a girl (this is too common for me but its for him, his getting on) ...the first name well hmm 5 letters and different and doesnt rhym with the others LOL what a mission!

We are waiting to further discuss names until we find out the sex (on 17th May!) mainly because we are going to have a HUGE problem agreeing on names as we have very different tastes....
Alexis might be an option for a girl as it is one we do both like and DH likes Lachlan but it is a bit too common for me.

We had decided on a girl's name, even before I fell pregnant. We are calling a girl Caelie and either Elizabeth or Jane for a middle name (family names).
We are pretty decided on a boy, but if we see anything we like better it could change. So far boys name will be Calum with David as middle name (again, family name)

My short list:
Girl
Layla
Ava
Isla
Tahlia
Maya
Taya
(There seems to be a pattern here doesn't there? )
Boy
Finlay
Jonti
Braxton
I find it really hard to stick to one name, maybe after 20wk scan it might be easier focussing on one sex but then I think I'll need to see the baby first!
We shall see!

we are having issues becasue we have to agree on at least 2 of each sex in case the twins are b/b or G/G. I have my 20 week scan in three weeks though so hoepfully they will be able to tell us the sex of them. Our names so far are:
BOY:
Tristan & Xavier
GIRL:
Savannah
Tahliah
Isobella
(i know they all end in AH! Can't help it!)

Hi there
I'm so glad everyone else is having as much trouble as my DH and I on choosing a name!
Finally we decided on Charlotte for a girl (an old family name) and Riley for a boy.
We had fun arguing about it though!

We are still stuck just even thinking about it......
Will probably resort to a baby name book! :D
(My DD's full name was actually a pseudonym I used during my uni days which I created!)
Every name I like he doesn't and vice versa!
For some odd reason I really like the name Shep and Wolfie (Wolfgang - been listening to too much Mozart of late me thinks) but DH says they are "dog" names..... hmmmm our dogs are called Jake and Rosie. I can just imagine what people would think if I said "this is Shep and Wolfie my children and my dogs Jake and Rosie"

having trouble picking names two its funny when i had sarsha i was a single mum and that was easy then i met my husband and when we found out we were having a baby his first words to me was "it will be a boy and his name will be zakk" so i guess that kind of said that now we are pg again and i really liked bella for a girl then only two weeks ago MIL best friends daughter called her baby that so you know how it goes i will just be copying her if i use it but at least decided on middle names im very family orintated when it comes to middle names so its "Hedley" for a boy as i lost my grandfather just last year and that was his name and "Rita" for a girl as it is in both sides. So hopefully can find something to go with one of these will be easier when we find out what were having next week.

Hi
Pebbles that is the first time I have heard anyone else use the name Tarnisha, that is my neices name but she spells it a little different.... :yelclap:
We have had the 18 week scan and did not find out the sex so 22 weeks to go to we find out but at the moment it looks like
Nicholas David:thumbsup:
or Isabella Ann:thumbsup:
Either way all good!

Well DH told me on the weekend that he has gone off some of the names we had chosen so i think we will keep debating them for a while yet! LOL
I am having my 20 week scan nect Tuesday so that hopefully will help if we can find out the sex of the babies.
I have always loved the name Salacia but my DH hates it and it doesn't go with our last name!

It's been a long time since I have posted (or even been on), but anyways..
We had the u/s yesterday and we are having a BOY!!
I have already named him Jesse but am trying to at least keep a semi open mind..........
Cheers!

Mumma, congrats on having a BOY!!:smiliedance:
I guess now it will make the naming a little easier.
We are also waiting until after the u/s scan before revisiting names and buying stuff.........we will still have a name for both, but focus more on one than the other.....its so hard!!
It seems like it's both hard and fun working out names. I wonder though if many ppl change their minds once they see bubs.
We did - DD was going to be Brydie.
This time definately want a short list and hopefull it wont take hours to decide this time:rolleyes:

Not sure - so we'll wait until we find out the sex (if we can) :fingerscrossed: at our 19wk scan on the 16th...
We've mentioned a few names but people always have an opinion on what you say :banghead: - so we aren't telling anyone the name until after the baby is born.
Also depends on what he/she looks like, as to what name will suit them at the time...

ok so we have agreed on Tristan Peter for our boy but now DH doesn't like any of the girl names except for Tahliah and i'm not sure i like this one anymore.
I had my heart set on Savannah but DH has now informed me he thinks this name is tacky! LOL
So i think we will have many more arguments to come over our girls name! LOL

Tristan Perter is great. Tahliah is nice, but sounds made up next to Tristan because it is such a classic. Must be hard to name twins! Cos you don't want their names too similar etc! Good Luck! I don't envy you! :p

I agree and i also said we don't realy want them both to have the same initials do we? DH tries to tell me yeah that what people do with twins! LOL
Its giving me a headache already. I said i feel bad for the liitle girl as her brother already has a name and she is in limbo! LOL

Abeck - I am glad you are not having two girls! Hehe. I love Tristan Peter, that is really nice. I also like Tahliah (this was one of our chosen girl names but for some reason we decided not to use it) but I do agree that they shouldnt have the same initials. Plenty of people would agree with your hubby that they should though! I love Savannah! I dont think it sounds tacky at all.
Me and my DH have the opposite problem, we cant agree on ANY boys names. He wants Tyson but I dont like it. Luckily we dont have one of each but there is still a good chance we will have a boy even though we both think ours is a girl! Lord knows what we are gonna do if it is a BLUE bundle!

I also like Tristan Peter - I've always liked the name Tristan after the character from the James Herriot books :D
oh and Pebbles.... I'm thinking PINK for your little bundle LOL :p
We still haven't come up with an agreeable name....
DH likes Jake and Jackson for a boy but says it's too common these days and has gone off "J" names now - anyway our dog is already called Jake and my BIL's dog is called Jackson.... LOL
*sigh*

The James Herriot books, was that the one about the veterinarian practice? I forget the title, also had a good TV series based on it? Cos that's what I think of when I hear the name too :)
I LOVE the name Serenity, but Stu thinks it is a little tacky, and he is completely sold on Caelie, which I am losing favour with because there has been so many lately. Hope we have a boy - be much easier.
Maybe call a boy Jacob - and shorten it to Jake. Won't be named after the dog then ROFL.
I am just waiting to find out what I am having - to save me from trying to find boys & girls names. Just fight it out over the one name :D
I havn't even thought of names yet, best I start
I like the name Tristian as well, has a really nice sound to it
i've never had to think of girls names so i'm going to have a ball lol, we had run out of names for boys already after 3 of them, I picked the name for our last boy cause DH and I couldn't agree

Yup  James Herriot was the vet who wrote all those funny stories and Tristan was another vet as well that was always up to some sort of mischief.... he was such a character - loved him!
I agree.... I think we are going to wait until we definately find out at the scan before seriously discussing names although there is that tiny small chance of them not getting the sex right....... :D

Now we know it's a boy we can focus on those names - makes life so much easier!
So it will either be (unless I/DH has a sudden change of heart!):
Finlay or Braxton.....
Hmmm decisions decisions!!!
Good luck everyone with your choices - they all sound great at the moment!

Not sure if more choice is a good thing:confused:
The boys first name is pretty well worked out. Not the second name. If its a girl, got the second name worked out but not the first:banghead: .
Not sure if more choice is a good thing:confused:
I had a look at that site last night, and man there are so many names lol, and all the ones I looked at I didn't really like, so I think this bub will be born nameless in Oct lol, I doubt even in the 4 and a half or so mths I probably still won't have decided on a name lol, its so hard, i've got heaps of boys names I like (shame DH doesn't like any of them lol) but I dont' need boy's names lol, typical, when we were naming our first born it was so easy to decide on girls names for some reason now its harder

Oh My Gawd... I think we have chosen!!
At this stage :p we have almost 100% decided Cashie's first name will be Alexis :smiliedance:
I thought we would have huge troubles choosing but the name seems so perfect for us. Not the most common but not unusual or odd so it sits right in the middle of what we both like. We are still keeping our minds open (have only read 2 of the 5 name books I have at home  ) but we are really happy with Alexis and it may just be IT!
We will have a middle name, yet to be decided, but Im thinking something simple like May. I am going to post in the next few names in the Baby Names section with some ideas and asking for opinions.
Im excited! :smiliedance:

Congrats Nicole on deciding a name for your baby girl, Alexis (May) is a gorgeous name, its very feminine, suits both a baby, child and adult and its an unusual form of Alexandra, nicer than Alex or Alexa I think!! Well done!!
For us, we are waiting until after tomorrow (my 20 week u/s scan) before we start to revisit the whole naming thing.........we find it so hard to find names we both like.
My DH atm the moment likes Emil Arthur if its a boy, the middle name comes for DH's grandfather who will be 91 on our baby's birth day. For a girl he still likes Vashti.
Me?? I can't decide.
