:gloomy: I have a chest infection. is it worth seeing GP or not? It will pass soon anyhoo....but i dont really want to take anything for it....and i doubt he'd prescribe it anyway - and i dont need a certificate so should i just sit it out?

so should i just stick to my juices and elevit and have lots of rest?

i had 1 disprin over 2 days (quarters at a time) because headache and backache and chills were too yukky, but i want to keep it to minimum

:gloomy: any suggestions

You shouldn't take any form of aspirin during pregnancy without medical advice. Better to stick to Panadol.

Are you coughing up green grot? If you are, he'd prescribe Amoxil which is regarded as quite safe.

If you are not coughing up green grot, I'd let it run its course.

Remember you can get a condition called "post-viral cough" which is an annoying persistant cough which can last for weeks after the initial illness, but which needs no treatment.

I'd personally be more inclined to reach for some of teh Brauer or Martin and Pleasance homeoptahic remedies.

my Chinese medicine practictioner has told me to take ginger tea for congestion (head and chest) and to kill germs, try the following:

boil some water and add a few tablespoons of rice vinegar (I could only find it at an Asian supermarket)

place the water and rice vinegar in a bowl in the middle of the room and shut all the doors, windows and curtains

leave for 30 minutes and then open the room to air.

I'm not sure if it works but I do it anyway.

I've had a cold this week courtesy of my son and husband and went off for acupuncture as soon as I felt sick. Very glad I did - the cold barely took hold.
