The song that keeps on popping into my head is semi charmed life by third eye blind, don't know if it's appropriate though!
Oooh another cool one would be "Heaven is a place on earth" by belinda carlisle!
Brown eyed girl by van morrison considering you're a brown eyed girl!
Sorry I'm going crazy with all of them, I keep on editing
Yep, back again! Celebration by kylie!
My sister had "I was made for lovin you (baby)" by KISS. I had "As" by George Michael and Mary J Blige. Much nicer than slow ones!
We had a pretty relaxed wedding but nice. We live dance so we wanted something with a beat to it for when we were walking from the ceremony our songs for walking in were Enya Songs.. I Love Enya and also Enya for the signing of the certificates. And as weird as it might be to some we had Bob Sinclairs Love Generation Song... I guess it's not a traditional Love/wedding sone but it was funky and worked for us. Gave the start of the Reception a real fun feeling.

My hubby and i walked in to a nice bouncy version of "love is in the air" and the MC made it like we were in a game show when he announced the bridal party!!
Thanks girls...keep em coming!!!!
OK so Im picturing the song starting...DJ announcing bridal party..they strut in.then us barging through the doors(altho its a marquee so no doors:D )and all eyes on us.Im soooo lame:p
I spent months gathering all the right music for our wedding, then the reception people took it upon themselves to play Shania Twain's 'from this moment' when we walked in without asking us. So cheesey! :barf: I was devo!

our friends had the song
"time of my life "i think its called of dirty dancing the movie
My friend walked into the reception to 'Let's get the party started' (I think that's the name of it :o ) by Pink. It was great. The bridal party came in first and then the couple came in sort of dancing/running/drinking champers and having a great time!
It really set the atmosphere for getting the party started!
Myself, I'm into the cheesy love songs....:o
Crazy in Love by Beyonce.

You'll be a woman soon by Urge Overkill.
BEST. EVER. SONG.
ETA: Oh it's that song that's in Pulp Fiction where Uma Thruman overdoses. I love it. Don't know if I'd call it funky but you could definitely strut your stuff :D
Entering Reception - Beautiful Day by U2
Bridal Waltz/'shuffle' - Unchained Melody (yes, i know boring but it is a beautiful song
Song after Waltz (where bridal party joins in) - Somethin' Stupid by Robbie Williams & Nicole Kidman (originally sang by Frank & Nancy Sinatra) I LOVE this song! wanted it as the Waltz but would have had to learn to dance with it.
Leaving Reception - On a Night Like This - Kylie Minogue
When we walked in I honestly can't remember what was played. But our first dance was to Celeine Dion's 'At last' it was a lil soppy but we loved it. The following song was our song... counting crows ' Accidentally In Love' from Shrek 2 soundtrack... we LOVE shrek movies!!!
But I was actually going to say that beyonce song... someone beat me to it!!!
I'd got aht one for sure!!! It's a great boppy song!

We had a Barry White song Your my first my last my everything. It was really boppy
We had "Can't Help Falling In Love" by UB40. It's a bit slow at first but it gets funkier once it's over the inital first few lines.
Our exit song from the Ceremony was a bit different and we played Golden Brown by the Stranglers. It is really upbeat and has a great tune.
We also had Yellow by Coldplay as our wedding dance song.
Just some thoughts.
Cheers and good luck :yelclap:

We had I'm a believer (from the Shrek movie) to leave our reception. For this I was looking for a song where I could celebrate the event had actually occurred!
(i originally wanted to have it to leave the church, but my dmother threatened not to come to the wedding if i did that.)

We had classical music at the ceremony
Walking into the reception - Happy together - Simple plan
Bridal Waltz - Raise me up - Westlife
First song after - She likes me for me - Blessed union of souls
Leaving the reception - ON my mind - powderfinger & Shook me all night long - ACDC
Our DJ was an idiot though:
He only just got set up in time because his van broke down and he had to taxi it to the reception
He pronounced the best mans surname wrong because he couldnt read his own handwriting
Had my maid of honour very nervous because he announced that she would be doing a speech when that had never been mentioned.
He played depressing songs like 'nothing compares to you' by Sinead O'connor even though I had given him a list of songs we wanted played
But the worse was that he kept calling my husband Brett when his name is Phil. Then for the bridal waltz he asked everyone "to please join Brett & Phil on the dance floor"
I also got a phone call from the reception venue a week later because he hadnt picked up his gear and they wanted a contact number
I definately wont be recommending him to anyone

Korah we too had a moron for a DJ. My grandfather wanted to do a grand jesture to say that he approved of the marriage (he's old fashioned greek and hubby isn't a greek at all, plus we weren't getting married in a church - absolutely unheard of in our family  ) Anyway he found this guy at his social club and gave him the job before we met him. He was an idiot! Got the names wrong, didn't play our music - used his own SCRATCHED cds after we provided our own  ... anyway off track here
Given that you've decided on Beyonce to walk in with, can I suggest a departure track? We left with (I've Had) The Time of My Life which is the song from Dirty Dancing - complete with a dance spin the DH wasn't sure we'd be able to pull off! It was excellent! Only problem was that the videographer missed it! Now we have no proof that DH can dance at all! Meanwhile I think that this track summed up the way we felt about the day hence it being perfect for us.
Good luck!
