I am the girl kicked out of her home because I confined in my mother that I am a lesbian.
I am the prostitute working the streets because nobody will hire a transsexual women.
I am the sister who holds her gay brother tight through the painful, tear-filled nights.
We are the parents who buried our daughter long before her time.
I am the man who died alone in the hospital because they would not let my partner of 27yrs into the room.
I am the foster child who wakes up with nightmares of being taken away from the 2 fathers who are the only loving family I have ever had.
I wish they could adopt me.
I am not one of the lucky ones. I killed myself just weeks before graduating high school. It was simply tooo much to bear.
We are the couple who had the realtor hang up on us when she found out we wanted to rent a 1 bedroom for 2 men.
I am the person who never knows which bathroom i should use if i want to avoid getting management called on me.
I am the mother who is not allowed to visit the children i bore, nursed, and raised. the court says im an unfit mother because i now live with another woman.
I am the domestic violence survivor who found the support sysytem grow suddenly cold and distent when they found out my abusive partner is also a woman.
I am the domestic violence survivor who has no support system to turn to because i am a male.

I am the father who has never hugged his son because i grew up afraid to show affection to other men.
I am th home economics teacher who always wanted to teach gym until someone told me that only lesbians do that.
I am the women who died when the EMT's stopped treating me as soon as they realised i was a transexual.
I am the person who feels guilty because i think i could be a much better person if i didnt have to always deal with society hating me.
I am the man who stopped attending church, not because i dont believe, but because they closed the doors to my kind.
I am the person who has to hide what this world needs most, LOVE.
I am the person ashamed to tell my own friends im a lesbian, because they constantly make fun of them.
I am the boy tied to a fence, beaten to a bloody pulp and left to die because 2 straight men wanted to teach me a lesson.

I hope that one day the world can be more accepting towards same sexed parents.
I hope the government wakes up and starts allowing same sexed marriages.
A persons sexuality doesn't define them as a bad person. They are still a human beings and deserve the same respect as everyone.

It saddens me to think that even in this day and age, people think that loving someone can be wrong...

I agree with what so many have said - it is sad that people could still be judged so harshly. Or even just judged.

I was chatting to a 2-Mummy couple in the parents room a few months ago, (wanted to know where they got their sling from), and I had to stop myself from saying 'Congratulations to you both - good on you!' as I realised that could have sounded just as condescending as someone who judged them harshly. I was actually a bit disappointed that it had even crossed my mind in a way, because in reality I was just talking to a couple in love who had just given birth to their first gorgeous child.

So I just stuck with the usual questions about how old, what's his name, isn't he gorgeous, congratulations stuff instead.

lovely post i am going to cut and paste it to send to a firend of mine

its sad that in so many ways the world has come so far yet some people are so pig headed and ignorent about homosexuality, when will people learn that there is no such thing as "normal", once everyone understands that the world wil be a better place

I read this on myspace also.

So so very true.

Why are people so judgemental and nasty in regards to sexuality. Big deal, we are all humans. We all love...

'straight people' love differently as well.. some men like short women others like tall women and so on.. wow... so some guys like guys and some girls like girls... we're all individual and have different tastes!

I just don't see why this is even an issue in the first place.

We love who we love. We don't get to control this, love does not discriminate.

yuck,... yet I nodded the whole way through,... My babies Godmothers are gay, and are the best influences on my kids,. "Innie and Toes"(as the kids call them:confused: :o :D ) are incredible women, and I would be devastated to see them discriminated against in any way,...

This one made me laugh a little but only because this happens to my sister. She is gay and likes to dress in more "boy" clothes (even though she gets them in ladies shops) and she knows she looks somewhat gender neutral and she only has very small breasts and strong features etc.... she always gets comments.

My younger brother is the type to pick on, harrass and even abuse someone because they are gay, his type should be removed from the world, not those who are gay.

imo someone who treats another person so badly should be ridiculed and harrassed, not those he is harrassing

it sickens me that there are people out there who think they have a right to abuse someone just because they love someone who is the same sex
