Well I haven't posted for a looooong time as at 28 weeks i was taken to hospital with a blood clot in the lung(very scary) and had been out of action for a while,towards the end of my pregnancy I was really to tired to do much of anything and way to busy chasing the other 3 kids to do much at all.Zane started "big" school too,and Airlie started pre-school for 1 day a week so everything has revolved around that mostly,add to this chasing a VERY busy 16 month old and I was hard pressed to get anything done! ANYWAY............
On the Saturday the 17th MARCH 2007 our baby boy made a hasty entrance into the world.I will tell you the very fast story as i sit here with him hanging off my boob....again.....! I had a "false alarm" the week before with very strong and painful braxton hicks so on the night of the real thing I was a little reluctant to wake everyone again(think i'd know the diff after 4 of them!!) I had a great Friday,dropped Zane at school,did some shopping and realyy felt quite normal,no indication that anything was going to happen.Had dinner early and put the 3 kids to bed.Around 8pm I was really tired so went to bed while Jason watched the footy.Around 10.30pm I woke with some pains,but was unsure so had a warm shower and waited 5 mins,realised this was "it" and tried to wake Jason-YEAH RIGHT!!-Put my own bags in the car and rang my midwife,at least it wasn't the early morning so she was still up!!She said she would meet me at the hospital,then rang mum(who most of you know is a midwife)Finally got DH awake and SIL arrived to stay with the kids.Left home at 11.10pm,by this time I was in established labour,picked up mum and my aunty Jo on the way to the hospital and was there by 11.30pm.Was quite calm,breathing through all the way in the car-Jason said he knew it was real as I was ruder than normal to him! Got to birthing unit and middie was already there with the room set up for me,I got walking for 5 mins and at 11.40pm she checked and I was 8.5cm so just did some breathing and pacing(with the others i used the warm shower for pain relief but figured i had come this far without getting in and did't think I had long to go so did'nt worry about it.20 mins later at mdnight I felt ready to push and a warm trickle down my leg as I was leaning over the bed-waters broke!! Here we go again..within 2 pushes our beautiful bubba boy was born,very fast,that fast in fact that he was very stunned and did't respond at first,I knew straight away that something was wrong as mum was quiet and middie told Jason to press the emergency button on the wall.Poor Jason did't even get to cut the cord as mum amd middie had to act fast and stimulate him.Within a few minutes(that seemed like hours-all the while I was crying saying"somethings wrong!!!I couldn't even turn around and look at him as I was worried something awful was going on)They all kept assuring me he was fine and when I heard that new,fresh cry,relief swept over me and i turned around and grabbed my fat little bub!!He soon turned a nice shade of pink once on my boob and I don't think he's gotten off it since!
After 9 or so months of name deliberations and loads of arguments Jason looked at me and said JASPER'S HERE!! I was soooo happy as he had never really liked this name and I had wanted it 5 years ago when we had Zane,so that's his name-JASPER COEN,i compromised on the middle name as Jason really liked it.He weighed a healthy 4.22kg,500gms smaller than Zane,but bigger than the 2 girls,and was 53 cm long.The best part was no stitches again so i've managed to have the 4 of them and stay intact,for some reason my biggest fear about childbirth was always if i would need stitches or not!He is going well and obviously loves my milk as he is now a very content 4.5 weeks old and has put on 2kg and grown 5cm-he weighs now what Zane weighed at 8 weeks,and he was 10.5lbs born!He is huge and has dark blond wavy hair-Avalon's very jealous as she is still quite bald at 18 months old and she only weighs 10.9kg so we are certain he's going to outgrow her at this rate!!We all looove him to bits and Zane loves having a little brother,i've already had to take him for show and tell.Airlie is very much the "little mother" and still calls him "new baby" instead of Jasper.Avalon's another story,she is sooo rough cos of the other 2 kids so she doesn't realise that she can't jump all over him!Life is getting to be normal and he fits in well-no hassles so far!That's our story and I'm just glad he's here,no more bubs for us,we would both love more kids but for now we consider ourselves very lucky that we have had 4 healthy,hassle-free births and bubs and don't want to be greedy nor tempt fate-"Happy with our lot,thanks!!"
