Jute(sp?) or heshion

I just rang up a upholstery to see if they stock hemp which they don't but they said that jute is the same as hemp, and she also reccommended heshion.

Has anyone else used these 2?
Are they alike?

:eek: jute and hessian :eek: isn't that the stuff that they use for feed bags on farms - I'm sure our chook food used to come in hessian sacks. I think they use it as lining in upholstery too (like underneath a sofa). It's really rough and scratchy. I'm sure she's given you the wrong info :confused: Those fabrics might be made from hemp but you definitely wouldn't use them for a nappy or any other clothing :no:

hesion is the stuff they make those big bags out of on farms and things!
